| Gwen Stefani 'doesn't care' if she alienates fans by going 'full MAGA' | Added 3 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Questions about Gwen Stefani?s politics have been percolating for a while, but in the past month, a lot of Gwen?s fans have now become convinced that she?s fully MAGA. Gwen has, in my opinion, always been more socially conservative and religious than her fans realize, and she also has a long history of problematic words and behavior around race. And yet? she used to be a huge Democrat and a huge Democratic donor and fundraiser. But things have changed these days, she?s reposting hyper-religious-wingnut content, she?s boosting Tucker Carlson interviews and she?s following right-wing nutjobs on social media. Well, now the Mail is running an exclusive about how Gwen has basically adopted Blake Shelton?s Republican politics and the music industry doesn?t know what to do with her anymore because her new music sucks and she?s turned off all of her loyal fans.
Gwen Stefani has become unrecognizable to her fans, friends and even her label which is now said to be considering dropping her after her alleged MAGA makeover. The No Doubt singer, 55, outraged her liberal fans last week when she publicly supported conservative political commentator Tucker Carlson, reposting one of his religious interviews. The move shocked her fans given her previous support for the Democratic party.
Now an insider has told the Daily Mail that Gwen appears to have gone MAGA and doesnt care if it alienates her fans. They alleged that the change in her political views could be attributed to her husband, country singer Blake Shelton, who previously praised Donald Trump.
After massively supporting Democrats for years ? she appears to have gone MAGA, the source explained. Some of this can be attributed to her marriage, as Blake is an infamous Republican. She shut out everyone for him. She doesn?t seem to care about her fans anymore and has shed her persona to become the unrecognizable opposite of what she once was. The Tucker Carson situation is not anything new, though. This is who she has become, the source continued. Gwen is not even trying to hide who she has become and this person is unrecognizable to her fans, friends and even her label.
She cannot sell albums anymore and with her new holier-than-thou campaign, it has really turned a lot of people off, said our source. After [teaming up with the Catholic] app, she released her last album Bouquet which was an absolute bomb. This has caused Interscope to consider dropping her which is a travesty considering she was once one of their top selling artists. But she has only herself to blame.
Gwens last album debuted at number 95 on the Billboard Hot 200 chart and sold only 13,000 copies in its first week. The Daily Mail has reached out to Gwen and Interscope for comment.
[From The Daily Mail]
For what it?s worth, I listened to a little bit of Gwen?s last album and it was a trainwreck, it?s like she?s completely lost her innate understanding of the pop-music zeitgeist. I guess her old producers don?t want to work with her anymore either. I think that was why the album bombed, not ?fans were turned off by her politics? the music was just bad. In the musical sense, Gwen had a good run she was incredibly relevant for over two decades. She even had some hit songs with Blake in recent years. But yeah, this is her semi-retirement vibe: bad music, MAGA politics, being Blake?s perfect Republican wife, I guess.

Gwen Stefani and Blake Sheldon have been together for 10 years and married for three-and-a-half. Gwen has always been a devout Catholic, and for the last month or so, she?s promoting two things: her new album, Bouquet, and a prayer app called Hallow (Insert the lame ?hallow-back girl? joke of your choosing here). Gwen started writing Bouquet when she and Blake got engaged and dedicated it to him and their ?love story.? Gwen sat down for an interview with Today, in which she talks about the album, her musical journey, her favorite memory from No Doubt, her life?s purpose, and more.
Everyone has a purpose: We all have a purpose. One of the purposes of my life is to be a wife and a mother. But the only time I feel like Im really contributing to the world is when Im writing songs.?
On the ?magical? collabs on Bouquet: ?Yes, yes! This album was magical and special and a miracle. Its a pure miracle I received these songs. I was like, ?What? Again? I get more?? There was one really unexpected collaboration and that was that Blake Shelton hopped on a song called Purple Irises. That was pretty special because, you know, everybody wants him. The other huge collab was this producer called Scott Hendricks who is more of a country producer. But its not a country record. Its a Gwen record.
How her dreams have grown throughout her musical journey: ?The longer I get to be part of the world and try to fulfill the purpose ? my purpose ? of making songs, you want it more and more and more. Because its got to be over soon. Its got to be. Once you get that love, once you got to share your life with people, its hard to stop. The dream just keeps getting bigger in a way, and the gratitude keeps getting more as well.?
She really loves collaborating with other artists: Theres never been a time where I havent like absolutely enjoyed collaborating. Collaboration is when I feel like I shine the most. Thats when like I feel like Im the best. I would definitely go back in the studio with any collaborator that Ive ever worked with and write a song. I love writing music. It is the one thing that makes me feel like Im worthy of something to be on this planet for. I need to keep pressing that button and try to write songs. You want to collaborate, Im right here, guys.
Her favorite memory from the No Doubt days: ?I was sitting on the tour bus, and we had been on tour for a while. I was actually making a baby blanket for my sister. I was like sewing this blanket by hand, everyone else was like doing other stuff ? I wont say what ? and I looked out the window and I see all these girls coming to the concert. I was like, ?Oh my gosh, that girl, shes dressed like me.? It was just this amazing how is that happening right now? It just made me feel like impossibly good.?
What music she?s listening to now: ?I think theres a lot of good music out there. I kind of went backwards in the last couple of years. As Ive been writing this record, I rediscovered a lot of the music I was listening to when I was a kid. Back in the station wagon, going to church, listening to soft rock. One of my favorite new artists that my son turned me on to is Zach Top. I love that record so much; such good lyrics and voice and melody. Im going to come and see the concert.?
[From Today.com]
At first, it was kind of jarring to reconcile that the woman who co-write ?Just a Girl? was gushing so hard about her purpose being ?a wife and a mother,? but then I remembered that this is what Gwen has always wanted. She tells us in several No Doubt songs. In ?Simple Kind of Life,? she sings about wanting a simple man so she could ?be a wife? and wanting to be a mom so badly that she sometimes wishes ?for a mistake.? ?Marry Me? is all about how she likes ?tradition? and wants to get married and cook dinner. She?s in a happy marriage and a good place in her life, so I?m glad that she got what she?s always wanted. Good for her.
What she says about really wanting to keep making more music as she gets older because she?s realizing her own mortality is pretty poignant. I feel that sentiment hard. I also love the way she tells the story about her favorite memory from No Doubt in which she?s sewing a blanket by hand while the male bandmates are doing ?other stuff? that she can?t say. It paints a picture of her sewing while all sorts of debauchery is going down around her. I don?t know if it?s being stuck inside all day because of the snow or what, but for some reason, this imagery is so funny to me right now.

Gwen Stefani is a cool woman who is loved and adored by millions of people for her music, her style, her vibe. But Gwen has also been a problematic figure for many people, first with her appropriation of Latinx culture, then with her appropriation of Japanese culture, and currently with her appropriation of Republican culture (lol). It?s the Asian appropriation which is still a huge issue today, I think because people continue to look back on that era Gwen?s Harajuku era and cringe. Gwen really paid four Japanese women to stand around her at all times and be silent. She really appropriated and marketed a Japanese subculture to white America. So, Gwen is currently promoting her makeup line (GXVE) and Allure?s Jesa Marie Calaor interviewed Gwen at a recent GXVE event. The interview turned out bonkers, because Gwen repeatedly claimed to be Japanese.
Gwen on her Japanese influences: That was my Japanese influence and that was a culture that was so rich with tradition, yet so futuristic [with] so much attention to art and detail and discipline and it was fascinating to me, she said, explaining how her father (who is Italian American) would return with stories of street performers cosplaying as Elvis and stylish women with colorful hair. Then, as an adult, she was able to travel to Harajuku to see them herself. I said, My God, Im Japanese and I didnt know it.' As those words seemed to hang in the air between us, she continued, I am, you know. She then explained that there is innocence to her relationship with Japanese culture, referring to herself as a super fan.
Don?t criticize her for being a fan: If [people are] going to criticize me for being a fan of something beautiful and sharing that, then I just think that doesnt feel right. I think it was a beautiful time of creativity? a time of the ping-pong match between Harajuku culture and American culture. She elaborated further: [It] should be okay to be inspired by other cultures because if were not allowed then thats dividing people, right?
Did Gwen Stefani really refer to herself as Japanese several times? Calaor writes: I spent 32 minutes in conversation with Stefani, many of them devoted to her lengthy answer to my question about Harajuku Lovers. In that time, she said more than once that she is Japanese. Allure?s social media associate (who is Asian and Latina) was also present for the interview and we were left questioning what we had heard. Maybe she misspoke? Again and again? During our interview, Stefani asserted twice that she was Japanese and once that she was a little bit of an Orange County girl, a little bit of a Japanese girl, a little bit of an English girl. Surely, she didn?t mean it literally or she didn?t know what she was saying? (A representative for Stefani reached out the next day, indicating that I had misunderstood what Stefani was trying to convey. Allure later asked Stefani?s team for an on-the-record comment or clarification of these remarks and they declined to provide a statement or participate in a follow-up interview.)
[From Allure]
What I find remarkable is that Gwen Stefani hasn?t figured out a better way to speak about her love of Japanese culture without sounding like an appropriating ahole. Like, I think it?s cool that Gwen loves Japan and that she wanted to bring some fun Japanese subculture to America. Figure out a way to do it and talk about it without claiming to be Japanese or shrugging off the very real issues your fascination with/fetishization of Japan has brought to the table. This is not some new conversation either. Literally, at the time in 2008, there were prominent Asian celebrities and scholars saying that Stefani?s Harajuku act was deeply uncomfortable if not fully racist. The conversations about appropriation have only grown from there, and with Stefani specifically, it?s not limited to her Asian appropriation. You can?t just wander around, claiming to be Japanese!!

| Gwen Stefani's beauty rule: 'Overdrawing of the lips works. It's real.' | Added 981 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Did you know that Gwen Stefani has a makeup label? That would have been groundbreaking 15-20 years ago, when she was known for loving makeup and before every single celebrity had their own makeup line. Gwen?s line is called GXVE and it?s sold exclusively at Sephora. The line debuted in March and the first lipstick sold out in a couple of weeks. Gwen chatted with Glamour about the line, the beauty tips she?s accumulated over the years, the tips she?s picked up from YouTubers and IG influencers and a lot more. This is a pretty light, fun, girly interview. Some highlights:
The oversaturated celebrity-makeup market: ?People warned me [about creating a beauty line], but I didn?t care. I knew that the one thing that would make it different was this is something that?s so real and authentic to who I?ve always been since I was a little girl. I feel like I?m definitely doing what I was meant to do.?
One her first jobs was as a fake makeup artist at a department store: ?I was a fake makeup artist in the sense that they never trained me and I didn?t ever report to anybody. I found magic in the makeup. It?s not even about how people look; it?s how they feel. Once that makeup goes on, the confidence that comes with it is what stayed with me.?
Living her purpose: ?I?ve always tried to just live my purpose, but even more now that I?m more mature and more aware of my faith and gone through so many things that forced me to say, ?Okay, I don?t care about anything else. I just want to do what my purpose is.??
She loves the makeup influencers: ?[GXVE] was almost like my backup plan in life that I?m getting to do now, but I get to kind of do both [as a singer and creator], which is so great. And also be part of this influencer movement that?s happening, where we share our secrets and our tricks and learn from each other. It?s a super beautiful community.?
How much time it takes her to do a perfect red lip: ?I could do a perfect red lip in less than a minute. In fact, I never worked with a makeup artist my entire career, really, other than one here or one there. I had a bad experience when I was doing [an early] No Doubt record. This guy came and did my makeup for the artwork and I remember thinking I looked ugly. I was like, ?I look prettier when I do my makeup,? but I was too scared to say something. I still look at those pictures and I?m like, ?Ugh.? After that I took it into my own control.
What beauty rule is bullsh-t: ?There?s a lot of product out there that is B.S. I see some girls trying to sell all these layers of things that you need to put on before you put on makeup. And some of it?s right, and some of it?s not.
What beauty rule is completely accurate: ?Overdrawing of the lips works. It?s real. I did it one time when I first learned it, and my kids were calling me out, like, ?What did you do to your lips?? They?re teenagers, so they know what?s going on. I was like, ?No, I swear. Let me take it off and I?ll show you. This is overdrawn right here. And when you overdraw the top lip like that, you just get this really pouty [look].? You see people hacking it all the time and it works.
A beauty trick she recently learned: ?I just started doing this thanks to a makeup artist, which is sometimes doing your eyebrows first before you put foundation on. It?s a really great way to start because your eyebrows frame your face. So depending on if you want to highlight them or not, that?s something that has helped me a lot.
[From Glamour]
The thing is, with so many of the celebrity women going their own makeup or skincare lines, I often get the feeling that they don?t actually know much about the industries they?re barging into. They think they can just coast in, use their name and somehow they?ll have a hit line. To me, someone like Gwen has credibility though she has been wearing makeup for 30-plus years, she knows how to do her own makeup, she?s known for her makeup, and clearly, she loves watching beauty influencers and TikTokers and YouTubers. You can tell that she really sits there and watches the videos and picks up hacks and tricks. Anyway, I would feel like a clown if I tried to overdraw my lips but I?ll take Gwen?s word for it.

| Blake Shelton on people saying he's a lazy deadbeat husband: 'The truth is, I am' | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani got married in Oklahoma back in July. By all accounts, Gwen organized and planned everything and Blake was very happy to let her do her own thing. The wedding photos made everything look a lot nicer than I expected Gwen?s Vera Wang dresses were pretty but not over-the-top. There was tons of food. Kids and dogs were included. Golf carts were utilized. Blake appeared on The Ellen Show this week and he?s still got that newlywed glow, honestly. I?m left with the impression that he?s happy as can be with Gwen, and he talked a lot about their wedding and how great it was:
On Gwen planning the wedding: At one point, I was saying in an interview, Were letting Gwen do whatever she wants for the wedding. And then some writer wrote, Well, oh, look, hes already a lazy deadbeat husband.? But the truth is: I am. What do I know about that stuff? Of course it was her and her vision. And all I had to do was drink and kiss Gwen Stefani, I mean, my God. The greatest gig Ive ever had.
Their wedding had less than 20 guests. Thats exactly what it needed to be.?
He?s been buying her lots of Christmas gifts: He said he tells her not to get him anything, but there ends up being a pile of crap this tall of gifts. Literally today I got on the phone with the internet company because they thought there was credit card fraud because I kept going back to this website buying her more stuff. Im getting her a bunch of stuff. I dont know that shes going to like any of it but its going to look good in the wrapping paper, you know?
Gwen?s wedding vows: The thing that got to me was she spoke about my [late] brother and my dad as if she had known them almost. She didnt make it seem that way, but it felt that way as she was speaking about them. She said she wished they were there and what kind of men she thinks they mustve been. Man, it hit me. Like, I couldnt believe how hard it hit me. I felt like at this point, Ive kind of gotten calloused. I guess Im not because that absolutely slayed me. Its hard to even remember what else she even said. Ill never forget that feeling.
[From People]
The quote about Gwen?s vows is actually from a People interview he did about a month ago, I just hadn?t seen that quote before now, that?s why I included it. If you watch the video (below), you can see how happy Blake seems. He really adores Gwen and he seems so proud of her and being married to her.
He also jokes about not inviting his work-wife, Adam Levine, to his wedding because Adam told Ellen that he doesn?t support Gwen and Blake?s marriage, because Gwen is cool and Blake isn?t.

As we discussed, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton got married over the holiday weekend. We knew that on Sunday/Monday, and then Monday evening, Gwen dropped some photos from her Oklahoma wedding! She looks so happy and so does Blake. I think and hope this one sticks for both of them. He was happy because they did it all on his big Oklahoma spread, and he even built a chapel on the property. She was happy because she got to plan her wedding just the way she wanted it, a classy/ranch affair with good food and their friends and families. Gwen?s wedding gown and reception dress were both Vera Wang:
Vera Wang made the two custom wedding dresses Gwen Stefani wore on her big day! Wang, 72, known for her signature bridal gowns, incorporated Stefanis edgy personality into the garments.
The first, which Stefani wore while saying her I dos to Blake Shelton, was a custom lily white silk georgette gown with a sweetheart plunging neckline, cut away back, fitted bodice and high low hand tumbled tulle skirt.
She kept her hair simple for her big day, pulling her long blonde locks back under her white chapel length veil, which featured the hand embroidered names of Stefani, Shelton, and Stefanis sons, Kingston James McGregor, 15, Zuma Nesta Rock, 12, and Apollo Bowie Flynn, 7.
A source previously told PEOPLE the boys would have a large part in Stefani and Sheltons ceremony. They were a part of Stefanis reception dress, too. A pair of hand sewn love birds symbolizing the couple highlighted hand pieced silk, crystal and sequin embroidered foliage around the waist and onto the skirt of the custom lily white Italian silk crepe and hand tumbled tulle strapless mini. Three baby love birds representing Stefanis children were also on the ensemble.
Stefani paired the look with sky-high stiletto white cowboy boots by Le Silla and a shorter veil adorned with floral appliqus and a white bow. She accessorized with gold bangle bracelets, sparkling earrings, and a cross necklace.
[From People]
The dresses were very ?Gwen.? I even enjoy her reception look with the cowboy boots. It looks like Blake got to drive the ?just married? golf cart to the reception too. Judging from the aerial photos of Blake?s property, I think they set up tents (high-class tents) for the reception and party. I hope everyone was vaccinated and they had a great time. Oh, and the cake the cake is big and fun. Oh, and Carson Daly officiated the wedding! Because of The Voice. But Adam Levine wasn?t there!!

I?m choosing to be really happy for Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton. At the end of the day, they make sense together, they clearly adore each other, and he loves the hell out of her three kids. Blake finally proposed to Gwen last October, and then earlier this year, her first marriage was annulled by the Catholic Church. Everything was lining up for Gwen and Blake, and they decided to have a wedding at his Oklahoma ranch. He had a chapel built on the property years ago, and that was where he proposed to Gwen too. Page Six had aerial photos of the wedding go here to see. There?s no confirmation on whether Blake got his wedding meal of chicken fingers and french fries.
There is no doubt this time that Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton have tied the knot. The couple officially got hitched on Saturday, less than a month after the No Doubt singer sparked wedding rumors by wearing a diamond band on her left hand. The ceremony took place at Shelton?s Oklahoma ranch, where sources previously said he built a chapel with the intention of marrying Stefani there.
Stefani, 51, and Shelton, 45, began dating in 2015 after meeting as coaches on NBC?s ?The Voice.? At the time, the rocker and country superstar were both newly divorced.
The couple announced their engagement in October 2020. Shelton quietly proposed to the ?Rich Girl? singer with a huge, six- to nine-carat round solitaire diamond set on what appeared to be a platinum band.
[From Page Six]
I hope Gwen tells us some wedding details this week Blake made it sound like she was having a lot of fun planning the wedding, and I can?t wait to see her dress, and the cake and everything else. I?m assuming the second wedding dress wasn?t John Galliano. Maybe Ralph Lauren with a flannel shirt?
PS? On Father?s Day, Gwen literally didn?t say one word about Gavin Rossdale and she posted this about Blake.

Blake Shelton proposed to Gwen Stefani last October. I sort of forgot about their engagement, and I forgot that they hadn?t actually gotten married yet. Before the proposal, Gwen seemed to be in a bad mood over the fact that he was so gun-shy about getting married, but now everything is fine. She?s apparently planning a big wedding now that people can travel and people are getting vaccinated. Blake spoke about the wedding plans and why he?s letting Gwen do all of the planning.
Will Blake Shelton and Gwen Stefani have a country-fried wedding? They will if it is up to Shelton ? which it isnt.
If I was picking our meal, it would just literally be everything fried, he tells USA TODAY. French fries, chicken tenders, you know, all of that stuff. I think she knows that it would be a pretty classless wedding if I was in control.
Shelton is happy to relinquish planning duties to the Hollaback Girl singer, all the way down to his wardrobe.
I never pick my own clothes unless Im doing one of these FaceTime calls with you and I put on a cap and shirt, he said. But she picks my clothes for things like ? something formal with the family. I never even pick my clothes for The Voice. I have a girl that does that for me. So, nobody lets me pick clothes. Thats not a Gwen wedding thing. Thats just in general.
In reality, it means Stefani has more time to enjoy the process ? a fact about which Shelton couldnt be happier. Hes sure shes pretty pleased, too.
I want her to do all of that stuff and handle it because its going to be great, Shelton said. Shes in the middle of planning the thing, and shes always so mindful ? of me. Shes like, Hey, I dont want to just take this thing over. I think shes having a blast doing it. I mean, I know shes having a blast doing it.
[From USA Today]
On one side, Blake irritates me with his whole ?I?m just a dumb redneck, I don?t know nothing about fancy clothes and weddin? plannin?? shtick. On the other side, I do think it?s kind of nice that he gave Gwen a special gift: planning the wedding to her tastes completely. Plus, I bet Gwen does a lot to make it Blake-specific. As for the thing about how he doesn?t pick out his own clothes I mean, some men don?t care. Some men think they need women to do that for them. I?m kind of with him on the wedding food though. Who says they can?t have chicken tenders and french fries at their wedding? Why in the world would you want to NOT have french fries at your wedding?

For a few years before Blake Shelton proposed, Gwen Stefani was dropping hints in her interviews about how much she wanted to get married, but she only wanted to get married to Blake if she could get her first marriage annulled. That confused the hell out of me Gwen and Gavin Rossdale were married for fourteen years and their marriage produced three children. How and why would the Catholic Church annul the marriage? Well, Blake ended up proposing to Gwen late last year, and of course she said yes. It was believed and widely reported that Gwen was prepared to marry Blake without getting an annulment, because the whole thing was moving at such a glacial pace. But look:
Fresh start! Gwen Stefani?s annulment from ex-husband Gavin Rossdale was ?finally granted? by the Catholic church, a source exclusively tells Us Weekly.
?Gwen was told the decision was made by the Vatican tribunal,? the insider says five years after the pair called it quits in August 2015. ?She will be receiving the notification in writing in the next few weeks, but it?s official.?
?It was a huge relief for Gwen because she wanted to get married by her priest and have the marriage recognized by the Catholic church,? the source says.
[From Us Weekly]
Again, I don?t know a lot about Catholicism and all of that, but is that really what happens? You just get a piece of paper saying ?that bitch got annulled?? I just thought it would be something in person, like a priest waving an incense stick over your body to purge the first marriage out of your body, something like that. Anyway, now Gwen and Blake have zero roadblocks. I bet they just do something small in Oklahoma, on his ranch, probably. A small pandemic wedding.
Meanwhile, Gwen was on the Tonight Show last week, and all she wanted to talk about was the engagement and how she was kind of mad that Blake waited so long to propose. She really is That Girl.

| Blake Shelton doesn't have any idea what it's like for people living on minimum wage | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Blake Shelton has somehow been able to maintain his ?brand? as a Good Ol? Boy Oklahoma redneck despite the fact that he spends at least half of every year in LA, filming The Voice and living with his rock-star fiancee Gwen Stefani. I?m surrounded by rednecks and good ol? boys where I live in Virginia, and Blake really has it down. I don?t doubt that he plays up his accent and his whole Oklahoma shtick, but it?s based on who Blake is or was originally. But maybe LA has changed him. Maybe he?s no longer in touch with those Oklahoma roots. Blake has a new song and one of the lyrics involves the minimum wage and people are MAD.
Blake Shelton is facing backlash for debuting a song titled ?Minimum Wage? while people in America continue to struggle amid the coronavirus pandemic. ?The Voice? coach debuted the new single on NBC?s New Year?s Eve television special alongside Carson Daly to help ring in 2021. The country singer told the host that his fiancee, Gwen Stefani, helped get her brother, Todd, to direct the video.
The artist?s new song has to do with his love for the 51-year-old ?Hollaback Girl? singer and contains a lyric in the chorus that upset many people who saw the broadcast.
?Girl, your love can make a man feel rich on minimum wage.?
Given the fact that the coronavirus pandemic has caused many businesses to shut down and put countless Americans out of work, people were quick to take to Twitter to lambaste the singer for releasing a song they believed was ?tone deaf? given the current climate.
?The irony of listening to a millionaire Blake Shelton singing about ?love on minimum wage? at the end of 2020 might be lost on its target audience,? one user wrote.
?I love his music but the timing for Minimum Wage isn?t great. With so many people out of work and struggling the song feels a little tone deaf. I?d like to hear songs that are more personal. Wish he wrote more of his own stuff because he?s an incredible song writer,? another wrote in a tweet that was unavailable as of Sunday.
Someone else agreed, writing: ?Does anyone else find Blake Shelton?s ?Minimum Wage? song to be incredibly tone deaf to our country?s current state??
The song has not yet been fully released and Shelton has yet to publicly comment on the backlash on social media.
[From Page Six]
I think it?s just a bad lyric? I mean, it?s out of touch and all of that, completely. But surely there was an easier way to write a lyric with the sentiment of ?you make me feel rich? or ?money doesn?t matter when I?m with you.? I don?t know. It?s so weird, the branding of country music demands that rich country stars play-act down-home redneck vibes and performative poverty, and Blake basically accidentally revealed that he has no idea what life is like for someone trying to live on minimum wage.
