| Rachel Weisz in orange plastic Givenchy at the Oscars: hideous & disappointing? | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Rachel Weisz was an Oscar nominee for The Favourite, and we have high fashion expectations for our Oscar nominees, especially when they?re famous for being fashionable. Years ago, I would have said that Rachel could wear anything and she would look stunning. That was before Givenchy gave her an orange PVC raincoat and reworked it into some kind of tragic gown. Honestly, I will feel the Sting of this disappointment for a long time. To add insult to injury, that diamond headband is completely nonsensical with this dress.
Amy Adams lost again! Ugh. It felt like Glenn Close was going to be the example for Amy, that eventually Amy would win an Oscar for her career?s work when she gets older. But no, Amy can?t even have that. Amy knew she wasn?t going to win too, that?s why she chose this boring Versace. Again, it?s not a bad dress and it flatters her figure and it?s even a tad ?racy? for wholesome Amy. But it?s mostly just there, kind of bland and inoffensive. The necklace is bad though.
Kiki Layne has been killing it throughout the awards season, so I actually had high hopes for her Oscar look. I was underwhelmed by this Versace though. I like that it?s not a total body-con column, but the fabric roll business at the back is just? a bad design trick.

I?ve always thought so highly of Rachel Weisz?s beauty and her style. Her beauty speaks for itself she?s SO interesting-looking, in that weird classic-and-modern way. But her fashion sense always impressed me too she was always a big believer in clean silhouettes, simple lines, lots of stuff from Narciso Rodriguez and Armani and Calvin Klein. That was her thing. Then she began to change and I don?t know what to even think anymore. Rachel wore this countrified, ruffled, custom Gucci gown to last night?s BAFTAs. This sh-t would look at home at the Country Music Awards, right? WTF was she thinking? Bring back the old Rachel!!
This is maybe the best Melissa McCarthy has ever looked at an awards show. She should stick with monochromatic!
Thandie Newton in Valentino. It?s a weird empire-waist dress with ruffles down the skirt to make it look ?fuzzy.? But I sort of love it? I might hate it on someone else, but Thandie is killing it in this gown.
Olivia Colman? she?s not into fashion. It?s fine. I tend to think she?s just wearing whatever someone tells her to wear and she?s not thinking about it at all. I prefer to think of her that way. This is Emilia Wickstead.
Olga Kurylenko in Armani Priv. I never would have guessed that this is Armani! It?s interesting, and as we saw with the Duchess of Sussex recently, some women think that purple and red ?go together.?

| Rachel Weisz, 48, and Daniel Craig, 50, have welcomed a baby girl | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Back in April of this year, Rachel Weisz surprised many people by announcing her pregnancy. Most of her fans knew that she had longed for a baby with Daniel Craig, but I also think most people were like ?it probably won?t happen,? given their ages. But then Rachel is out here, pregnant at the age of 48. Well, she and Daniel have welcomed their late-in-life child: a baby girl!
Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig have welcomed their first child together, a baby girl. The Oscar-winning actress, 48, and her James Bond star husband, 50, told friends they were very happy to welcome their daughter into the world. The baby is the first child for the Runaway Jury and Denial star and her hunky hubby who wed in 2011.
[From The Daily Mail]
This is the first child for them *together*. Rachel has a son, Henry, with her former partner Darren Aronofsky. Daniel also has an adult daughter, Ella, who is past college age I think? I think she was raised in London and now she lives in New York, and reportedly Ella is pretty close to her dad. Anyway, it sounds like Rachel and Daniel have their hands full and I?m sure it?s an absolute joy for them. You know Baby Weisz-Craig is going to be beautiful too. Congrats to them!

| Rachel Weisz: We demand women be 'likeable in a way that's not asked of men' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Rachel Weisz covers the November issue of Harper?s Bazaar UK to promote her quirky new film, The Lobster. If you?ve seen the trailer (at the end of the post), you have some kind of idea what the film is about. It?s like? rom-com dystopia. Single people are given 45 days to find a soulmate (or simply a ?mate?) and if they can?t find anyone in 45 days, they?re turned into an animal of their choice. Colin Farrell is one of the single people (and he would like to be turned into a lobster) and he meets Rachel Weisz?s character, who is I guess living outside of the now-conventional society. It seems like a weird and lovely little film. Anyway, there aren?t a ton of quotes from Rachel?s Bazaar piece, but here are some highlights:
She?s uncomfortable talking about acting: ?You tend to sound like a bit of a jerk.?
Working with Colin Farrell. ?I saw him in Cannes. He?d lost all the weight. But he?ll always be that lovely, pudgy, tender sweetheart to me.?
Sexism and difficult women: ‘I?ve noticed in my career this tendency towards wanting women to be likeable in a way that?s not asked of men. I don’t understand how that’s happened. You know, if you look back at Barbara Stanwyck, Bette Davis ? they were difficult, difficult women, and they were iconic and worshipped.’
She hated her 20s: “In your teens you think nothing is impossible. Then in your twenties you realise everything isn?t possible. I think in your thirties you get more confident about who you are and I find that a relief. The twenties are excruciating. At least they were for me, anyway.?
[From Harper?s Bazaar UK & The Daily Mail]
The likeable thing is definitely pretty tricky. I get the impression that Rachel is talking about women feeling the need to be ?likeable? in real life, or in their media-spun images. Which is true, actresses feel the need to not only be likeable but relatable like never before. The problem I have is that this whole ?likeable? thing has moved into film and television too, where it?s nearly impossible to have a female character who is terrible or complicated or vicious or somehow not relatable or unlikeable.
Here?s the trailer for The Lobster. I think Colin excels at playing losers, you know? I also think he?s an underrated romantic lead.

Last Friday, we discussed the tabloid rumor that Rachel Weisz and Daniel Craig?s marriage might be falling apart. Star Magazine?s rumors were along the lines of ?they haven?t walked a red carpet together in more than a year? and ?Daniel might be fooling around.? Notably, I think, Daniel didn?t come to Cannes when Rachel was promoting projects back to back last month. So what?s happening? I have no idea. But Rachel did sit down for a lengthy interview with The Daily Mirror and she ends up discussing her marriage, her husband and much more. You can read the full piece here. Some highlights:
Rachel on her 20s: ?I was often single and feeling alone in my 20s. I?d eat pizza at home by myself, rent movies, all the clichs…It was hard sometimes but you hope eventually you?ll find the right partner. When I was younger, I worried about so many things and it was hard for me to feel happy or understand what made me happy. Once you reach your forties, you know where to look.?
On her marriage: ?I love to cook. Daniel is also very good at it. We always enjoy trying out different kinds of cuisine and having fun with that.?
She won?t do Botox or plastic surgery: ?You have to be realistic about it and not fight it. I don?t worry about wrinkles but I?ve worked on my fitness since Henry was born and I pay more attention to my body than I did when I was younger. But overall, you have to find as many positive things as you can about getting older. Life is much less problematic for me today.?
Her start in modeling: ?I enjoyed that time. I earned enough money so that I began feeling much more independent. When you see photos of models in magazines, you would never realise the amount of hours and stress that go into that job. You have to be very disciplined to succeed at it.?
Living in New York with Daniel: ?I miss so many things about England. I still feel very English and love the TV and conversation. We have a distinct sense of humour and sprinkle conversation with innuendo and puns. You don?t get that in America!?
Whether she would ever be a Bond girl: ?Never!?
[From The Daily Mirror]
You don?t get innuendo and puns in America? Um?don?t get me wrong, I think the British people have a grand tradition of word play and humor as well, but Rachel makes it sound like all Americans are dull and humorless conversationalists. To that I say? BALLS. As for the other stuff? I actually hope that Rachel and Daniel work it out, but I?m getting a vibe that they won?t be lasting a lot longer.

| Rachel Weisz in teal Prada at Cannes 'Youth' premiere: beautiful or budget' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from last night?s Cannes Film Festival premiere of Youth. I?ve heard very little about this movie, and I only really know that it stars Michael Caine, Harvey Keitel, Rachel Weisz and Paul Dano. Jane Fonda has some kind of role in it too. It?s mostly about Keitel and Caine though. But Rachel Weisz was the one stealing the show at the premiere! Rachel wore this rich emerald ?teal Prada gown, accented with jewelry by Chaumet. Y?all know I have mixed feelings about Prada gowns for the most part. And those problems I have are evident in this gown. This could have looked really lux, but I feel like the ?Prada Signature? is a messy bust and bad tailoring, and Rachel is not well-served here. The darting is also ?off,? the stitching is puckered and the satin looks really bumpy in close-ups. Still, a gorgeous color on her. I?ve been loving the greens this year.
Jane Fonda went over-the-top in this Schiaparelli Couture gown. I?m not into it, mostly because of that neckline and the weird fuchsia wrap/skirt thing. Don?t get me wrong, I?m all for Jane Fonda bringing some old-school glam to Cannes. I just think this look is messy.
Madalina Ghenea is in the movie, and she came to Cannes to try to steal Rachel?s thunder. If that name sounds familiar, it?s because Ghenea dated Gerard Butler for a while, then she dated Michael Fassbender for a short time. Call me a jealous hag, but I don?t like her whole vibe. The dress is pretty though.
Let?s end it on a nice note ? I love Doutzen Kroes in this Mugler pre-fall look. Her styling is ON POINT.

These photos make me happy. There?s just so little to fight about here. These are photos from the late-shift Cannes Film Festival premiere of The Lobster, starring Colin Farrell, Lea Seydoux and Rachel Weisz. And every single one of them looked gorgeous. I?ve always had a thing for Rachel Weisz, and she brought so much joy to me in these photos. If you?re forcing me to choose, I?d have to say that Colin actually looked hotter

It?s always a special occasion when Daniel Craig and Rachel Weisz walk a red carpet together. Since marrying in 2011, they?ve only done a handful of red carpets together, and last night was the first joint appearance in months (obviously I?m not counting their Broadway revival of Betrayal). Daniel and Rachel attended last night?s 7th Annual Night of Opportunity Gala at Cipriani Wall Street.
Rachel wore a custom Narciso Rodriguez dress in pale pink. She loves Narciso and she wears the label often. Considering this is a custom piece, I would have expected the tailoring to be impeccable, but it?s just kind of blah. It looks like she found something off the rack. The shoes are Narciso too. Black with pink? And the center part kills me a little. This is not her best look at all. But she gets bonus points because ever since they got married, Rachel and Daniel look like all they do is shag, day and night. This might be the first time Rachel has been standing upright in more than a month.
Rachel and Daniel are about to decamp to Ireland where she will be filming The Lobster (??) with Colin Farrell. Irish outlets report that Rachel and Daniel have already rented a home in Dalkey, County Kerry. The premise for the film sounds really, really weird? but hey, it will be a nice Irish vacation.

Firing back at the shutterbugs, Rachel Weisz turned the tables when she started snapping photos from her iPhone on Friday (December 13).
The 43-year-old actress whipped out her cell and took pics of the awaiting paparazzi during her bitterly cold New York City walk earlier this morning.
