Making her routine trip to the Walter Kerr theatre, Catherine Zeta Jones was spotted leaving her New York City apartment on Wednesday (January 20).
Sporting some shades and dressed in all black, the 40-year-old Broadway rookie-turning-star slipped into the waiting vehicle.
It seems Catherine’s regular schedule of dancing and singing every night in the musical “A Little Night Music” is taking a toll on her figure.
According to a report, her normal beautifully curved body is turning bony and skinnier than usual which raises flags and concern for the actresses’ health.
In the past she has spoken out against the Hollywood fashion for ‘super skinny women’ and professes a relaxed attitude to diet and exercise.
‘My muscles have memory from the time I danced, and it’s quick for me to get back in shape, but I’m not fanatical,’ she said.

Out braving the California rain, Hilary Duff was spotted on Wednesday (January 20) out and about in Brentwood.
Heading into a medical building, the former “Lizzie McGuire” star looked stylish per usual and sported rain boots and a hat in order to stay dry in the rainy conditions.
In other news, the premiere of “The Business of Falling in Love” which stars Ms Duff is set to premiere on ABC Family on Sunday, April 18th.
“The Business of Falling in Love” –in which Hilary plays a fashion journalist- is the first TV movie for her since 2002’s Disney Channel movie “Cadet Kelly.”

Not letting the unusual amount of rain in Los Angeles stop her, Katy Perry was spotted out for lunch on Wednesday afternoon (January 20).
The “Hot N Cold” singer looked darling in a dress, tights and heels as she sheltered herself from the rain before heading inside the local restaurant.
Joking about the heavy rains, Ms Perry recently took to her Twitter account and wrote, “Do i shower or just stand out side for one minute?”
Meanwhile, the 25-year-old singer and fianc Russell Brand were spotted checking out a few items at Bed, Bath and Beyond on Tuesday, which leads us to believe they are registering for their upcoming nuptials.

?She only had seven lines, seven!? the source told RadarOnline.com exclusively about the recently out of rehab actress? problems with her lines. ?Each time she would mess up she would forget her lines and Mariska kept prompting her and saying ?it?s your line Mischa?.?
According to the source, Mariska Hargitay and the cast and crew on set were losing patience with Mischa?s ?unprofessionalism.? To her credit, the actress did apologize, saying ?Sorry,? each time she missed her lines.
Oh, well, as long as she says she’s sorry then I bet everyone’s just fine with her being uselessly retarded. That’s how it always works out when I get so drunk that I vomit at random on passersby and police officers. When I drool and say “Urp… sorry,” they all just smile and shrug and then bust out with a song-and-dance routine about togetherness and understanding. At least I think that’s what happens, but I’m usually passed out by that point, so it’s anyone’s guess really.

He’s already one of the biggest names in television production and talent development, and now Simon Cowell has signed a whale of a deal with Sony.
According to a report, the “American Idol” mastermind inked a deal worth $500 million this week as he launches Syco TV to produce and sell the formats to “X-Factor” and various “Got Talent” gigs.
Quite pleased with his massive paycheck, Cowell told press, “I have had a fantastic relationship with Sony for many years and I’m delighted we are launching this venture together.”
An insider added, “He is truly in the driving seat. He felt like an employee before, but now he has some real ownership and is thrilled to be side by side with Sony.”

Stepping out for a night on the red carpet, Katie Price was looking lovely as she arrived at the National Television Awards in London, England on Wednesday evening (January 20).
The British glamour babe was all decked out in a colorful and sparkly frock, posing for pictures with Michelle Heaton at the annual O2 Arena event.
As for the evening’s festivities, the ceremony was opened by The X Factor winner Joe McElderry singing Don’t Stop Believing, also featuring a special performance from John and Edward and Vanilla Ice.

Yes, it?s sad. I?m of the opinion that Mischa truly has issues that have yet to be dealt with. So I?ll just say that I hope she gets some help and leave it at that.
But allow me to rant about Law & Order: SVU for a moment. As I mentioned in the Mariska Hargitay post earlier today, Law & Order: SVU has been sucking big time this season, and it?s not all Jay Leno?s fault. The story lines have been more depressing and ridiculous than usual, and the casting and usually interesting characters have been uninspired and bland. Christine Lahti?s character arc nearly killed me, and Neeylo and Lin234 noted, not only is Mischa filming her scenes now, but Sharon Stone is expected to make an appearance as some kind of cop or lawyer too. The one bright spot (for me) was Naveen Andrews? appearance last week - but it?s too much to hope that he?ll become a cast regular or anything. But wouldn?t that be something? He was lovely and gorgeous last week. But? you know who they really need to bring back? Marcia Gay Harden?s brilliant portrayal of FBI undercover officer Starr. Harden was the bomb!

As I mentioned during the post-Golden Globe analysis, I think George Clooney is totally over Elisabetta Canalis. While she definitely looks pretty on his arm, and while she fulfilled her duties as arm candy admirably, I thought I detected a detached, annoyed air around Clooney. Like, maybe his thoughts were on Haiti and the telethon, and maybe he wished, for the first time, he had a girlfriend who was interested in charity work and humanitarianism and anything beyond ?being George Clooney?s girlfriend? and ?acting/modeling?. But the reviews from their Globes appearance have much of the same bullsh-t? and now the Enquirer is reporting that Elisabetta is pushing hard for commitment. Not to get married, but to have George?s baby! Oh, God:
Sure, there’s a Haiti telethon to host first but then “Gorgeous” George Clooney’s ready to become a daddy!
During the holidays, gorgeous model Elisabetta Canalis told George that she wants to get pregnant. Friends of 48-year-old Clooney were shocked when he responded: “Sounds like a plan to me! When do we get started?”
“George has done a complete 180 on starting a family,” a close friend told The ENQUIRER. “He’s still not a huge fan of the institution of marriage, but Elisabetta has made him rethink having children and settling down. They’re both incredibly happy and I certainly could see them having a baby in the next year.”
The idea grew out of an offhand remark between the couple during the holidays.
“Elisabetta is crazy about George and wanted to make that clear to him,” said the source. “So when he asked what she wanted for Christmas, she said, ‘Your baby!’ She was dead serious. And while George was a little startled, it made him think about how ready he is to be a dad and what a perfect mother Elisabetta would be. And that’s when he told her to be careful what she wished for.”
George met 31-year-old Elisabetta in Italy last summer, and it wasn’t long before he had moved her into his 25-room Italian villa on Lake Como.
“At his Christmas bash, they were acting more in love than ever and let out huge smiles when anyone mentioned them having a future together,” the source said.
“George was quick to retell the story of Elisabetta’s Christmas wish for a baby - adding that if she is a really good girl, next Christmas Santa might bring her what she asks for.”

Wearing a black Valentino gown with a mile-high slit on the side, the screen siren took a page out of her rival Angelina Jolie?s style book. I’m going to admit something. When I know I am going to be at an event where I might run into some of my ex-husband’s colleagues, I want to look good. I can’t say it’s for “revenge,” more like, “wow, she’s really hot, why’d he get rid of her?” But I don’t think that’s what happened here. Okay, I?m one of those rare women who is left cold by Ryan Reynolds. Always and forever. I wasn?t even hot for him after that infamous shirtless Entertainment Weekly cover. I?m not sure what it is, but the guy seems like he could be a major pill in real life, and he always strikes me as smug and full of himself. Of course, there some evidence to indicate that is exactly what he really is like.
Anyway, I came across these photos and I might be changing my mind about Ryan. Because he looks like a friggin? magazine photo shoot just walking down the street. Something about that beautiful coat that fits him really well and that I?d like to borrow, those perfect jeans, the way that he?s strutting. Okay, I finally see it, ladies. Ryan is hot. He needs to stand up straight though. That?s quite a hipster slouch. Douche. No! I like him now. Sigh… it will last a day.
In other Ryan news, his independent film Buried has been named one of the ?five most likely films to face a bidding war at Sundance.? Apparently, Buried is about a civilian contractor in Iraq who gets buried alive. And that?s the movie. Ryan, buried alive for 90 minutes. High concept indeed.

UPSIDE: Reynolds is coming off a terrific year in high-visibility hits (X-Men Origins: Wolverine, The Proposal), and come on: Who wouldn?t want a crack at distributing the Ryan Reynolds-trapped-in-a-coffin movie?
DOWNSIDE: In the end, it is just the Ryan Reynolds-trapped-in-a-coffin movie. Despite a cast that also lists Samantha Mathis and Stephen Tobolowski, I?m told that Reynolds is indeed the only one onscreen in the film. Too much Ryan?
POTENTIAL BIDDING WARRIORS: Lionsgate, Magnet, Screen Gems
HOW MUCH? A little north of $1 million, maybe more if Screen Gems ? Sony?s genre label, and not generally a huge fest buyer ? gets involved.

When Madonna kissed Britney Spears or Adam Lambert did the same to one of his male backup dancers, I knew that these were two Hollywood celebs trying to create a controversy. They are both known to make a living out of being the focus of attention by doing things that Bible-hugging people do not like. Not that I think there is anything wrong with two girls kissing but the last two ladies on the earth that I expected to kiss in public were Sandra Bullock and Meryl Streep. They are fine actresses and do not need this sort of controversy. Having said that it is nice to see that women of all ages can now give each other a smooch on the lips or even lock their lips in a long, wet French kiss.

Still not wearing her supposedly recently received engagement ring, the sexy supermodel headed to an antique shop before going over to the Topshop head offices.
As previously reported by Gossip Center, Miss Moss reportedly received a diamond engagement ring from her longtime boyfriend Jamie Hince during her 36th birthday festivities over the past weekend.
An insider told press, “Kate was stunned- Jamie called her up and told her not to come home. He said he was flying out to Mustique. He had carefully picked a ring and chose her birthday to propose. It was the first time they had been alone together in quite a while and it was extremely emotional.”

Dealing with family legal issues, Anna Kournikova’s mother has been arrested and is facing charges of child neglect in Florida.
According to police reports, the tennis star’s mom, Alla Kournikova, was picked up after having left her 5-year-old son home alone - which led to injuries.
Taking place in Palm Beach, press reports tell that 46-year-old Alla was turned in “after a passerby found the youngster soaking wet after he apparently jumped out of a second-story window and then into a swimming pool.”
Having locked her young son in the family home after he refused to go with her to the bank, Anna’s younger brother suffered bruises to his feet and back in the 15-foot window plunge.

“American Idol” alum Katharine McPhee is the cover girl of “Shape” magazine. The standard “bikini while standing in a pool of water” pose was her choice, and she looks great - bleach job aside. Honestly, the best thing this girl had going for her was her long, beautiful chestnut hair, and now she’s hacked it off and bleached it blond. Why? Anyway, Katharine talks about her 7-year battle with bulimia in the issue, and also how she is dealing with ongoing depression with the help of a support group.

“The more I focused on my weight, the worse my bulimia got,” says the American Idol runner-up, 25. “Now I’m more easygoing. I stopped fighting myself and became more forgiving of my body. Ironically, the weight came off naturally through exercise but no dieting.”
McPhee says she no longer pays attention to how many pounds she weighs.
“At my last physical, the nurse took my vitals and said, ‘Wow, you must be taking care of yourself! Your blood pressure is perfect. You’re very healthy,’” she says. “Hearing her say that made me feel better then seeing an ‘ideal’ number on the scale.”
While she’s adapting a healthier body image, McPhee still battles depression.
“I’ve tried writing down affirmations, but that doesn’t work for me,” she explains. Every Monday, she attends a women’s group meeting organized by her church where everyone reveals their highs and lows of the week.
“This exercise is so cool because it allows me to reflect on where I am in my life, and also to hear what others are going through,” she says. “When we’re done, I feel more connected to the world and not so lonely. It’s the best way to start my week.”

It sounds like Katharine is in a happy place these days, although I have to wonder how she kept her issues hidden when she was on TV every week during “Idol.” She always seemed so happy and upbeat, and she looked great. One would have never imagined she was dealing with an eating disorder and depression at the time. Nothing against Katharine, but I always considered that particular season of the show a big joke, with that “Soul Patrol” guy winning. What was his name?

On returning to The HillsMTV had asked me for the past four years to come on the show but the whole reason I didn?t is because it was Lauren?s show and I felt like if I went on, it would have been the same thing as Laguna Beach, where Lauren and I would probably be fighting over some guy. So, I really wanted to focus on acting and challenge myself in other ways. Then with her leaving, they were really putting the pressure on me to come back, so I thought, ?Why not? So it is with a tip of my hat (copyright: Stephen Colbert) that I congratulate The National Enquirer for this week?s Brangelina story. Instead of describing how much Brad and Angelina hate each other, and how their split is coming, the Enquirer treats their ?split? as a given, and goes on to describe Angelina?s ?life after Brad?. So what?s on Angelina?s agenda? She and the kids will be moving to Europe for an ?extended stay? and she?s already started the paperwork on another adoption. Something about her brother James Haven too?

After a bitter spat that prompted her and Brad Pitt to pull the plug on their once-committed relationship, she’s packing up for an extended stay in Europe, and will adopt another child, sources say.
“Angie is throwing her energy into building a life apart from Brad,” an insider told The ENQUIRER.
“Angie is already packing her and the kids’ clothes and personal effects for an extended stay in Europe while she and Brad work out child custody arrangements and the financial terms of their split.”
The 34-year-old mother of six is set to begin production soon on the spy thriller The Tourist which will film in Prague and Venice. And she’ll rely on her brother, 36-year-old actor James, to help during the adoption process, said the source.
“Angie’s strategy is to decompress for a while at the couple’s leased estate in southern France,” said the insider.
As The ENQUIRER recently reported, Brad and Angelina’s nearly five-year relationship buckled under months of stress, including a failed suicide attempt by Angelina and a frightening collapse after the 5-foot-7 beauty’s weight dipped to a stick-thin 104 pounds.
In December, after Angelina temporarily kicked the 46-year-old Inglorious Basterds star out of their Los Angeles home because of his boozing, she physically attacked him when he made a cheating confession about ex-wife Jennifer Aniston.
Soon after, during a fight over dinner on Jan. 6 in New York City, Angie rejected Brad’s ultimatum that she seek professional treatment for her emotional demons and physical issues.
“Angelina feels her life with Brad has been toxic. She’s looking forward to a new beginning,” continued the insider.

Call me crazy, but I don?t think the whole ?going off to Europe with the kids? thing is that insane. Sure, I don?t buy the premise that Brad and Angelina have split, but if they did split, I think it would probably happen like this.
Meanwhile, Los Angeles real estate watchers are noting that Brad Pitt just bought another house - this time a property neighboring his Los Feliz compound. The two-bedroom house apparently comes with a bar and a ?secret cave?. Brad spent $1.1 million, and this is not the first time he bought one of his neighbors? homes. It?s generally considered that Brad wants to buy up his whole neighborhood for one, big, mind-blowing compound. Where he will live alone, without Angelina and the kids, right?

Just when you thought Britney was recovered after her downward spiral two years ago comes news that she’s adopting some strange old habits. This story is from British rag The Sun, so let’s keep our fingers crossed that it’s made up. Supposedly Britney is speaking in an English accent in an attempt to imitate maniacal baby Stewie from “Family Guy.” The last time Britney was known to speak in an English accent was when she was driving around aimlessly being followed by countless paparazzi, many of whom were British. She also dated that creepy British paparazzo Adnan Ghalib right before her breakdown in early 2008.
Here’s the story from The Sun:
Britney, who has a lengthy history of odd behaviour, has taken to trotting around the Mondrian Hotel mimicking the troublesome child, who speaks with a plummy British accent.
A source said: “Britney has developed a real fascination for Family Guy.
“She’s been staying in the hotel’s penthouse suite and has been watching box sets. She really likes Stewie and has been trying to copy his British accent.
“It’s a bit weird, especially when she’s in the gym speaking like a camp Brit.”
Stewie is voiced by Family Guy’s creator SETH MacFARLANE. He is obsessed with world domination and plotting to kill his own mother. Given Britney’s own character flaws, perhaps her behaviour isn’t that odd.

Before Britney’s breakdown she was staying in hotels too. She’s staying at a hotel in LA now and she has a mansion nearby, so it’s all a little worrying. Britney is still under a conservatorship and her father can step in at any time, though. Still, she’s finding ways around his restrictions, like using one of her bodyguard’s credit cards to buy shoes when she’s over her $1,500 a week spending limit. Britney did extremely well on tour, so maybe her dad should just step in and plan some more activities so she keeps busy. There’s nothing wrong with watching “Family Guy” and attempting a British accent, but if the Pink wig comes out she needs and intervention for sure.

My girlfriend Mariska Hargitay is the February cover girl for More Magazine, and OK! Magazine has some lovely interview excerpts. Mariska talks about being a size 8 in a size zero world, the time some a-hole told her to get a nose job, and how much she hates Jay Leno. Not really on the last one, Mariska just blame Leno and the boneheads at NBC for killing Law & Order: SVU?s original 10 p.m. timeslot, and she also blames them for the decline in ratings this season. Now, here?s the thing: I?m a loyal SVU watcher, and while I hate that SVU comes on at 9 p.m. now, I also think this season sucked (especially the first episodes) because they cast Christine Lahti as a raging alcoholic paleo-feminist who treated men like crap under the guise of ?girl power? - and who was, coincidentally, terrible at her job as a prosecutor. While that plotline might have been realistic, it sucked the life out of the first part of the season, and even throwing Lahti off the show wasn?t enough to make it better.
Mariska Hargitay is one of the most respected actresses on primetime TV, and her success on Law & Order: SVU has also made her one of the highest-paid stars on network TV.
?The only reason I have the career I have is that I didn?t quit,? the actress admits in the February issue More magazine. The cover girl opened up about her thoughts on The Jay Leno Show bumping SVU, living in the shadow of her iconic mother, Jayne Mansfield, her financial worries and the constant pressure on actresses to be beautiful.
?A guy at ABC told me to change my name and get a nose job. I said, ?You get a nose job,?? Mariska reveals in her More interview on not having the conventional movie star looks. ?I think I?m a very attractive person, but I don?t put myself in the realm of the beauty. That?s not where I get my esteem. I?m a size 8, and I feel proud of that, because it?s healthy. I?ve never felt compelled to be a skinny actress.?
Even though she is one of the highest-paid primetime actresses, Mariska still stresses about money.
?I constantly worry about money. I make a lot now, but I don?t feel that way, because I was poor and had no money for a lot longer than I?ve had it,? she said. ?As an actor, if this show ends next year, then what? As an aging woman, then what? I?m saving money to live on, for the future. There are not that many roles for women, and I?ve been blessed with one of the great ones.?
SVU was affected by the late night shift when Jay Leno? came on the scene for his 10 p.m. primetime talk show. The drama was forced to move into the 9 p.m. slot because of The Jay Leno Show.
?It ruined our numbers. The first four episodes, we were considerably down because nobody knew when the show was on. Finally, we?re starting to find our audience again.?
As a result of Jay?s low ratings, and the changing late night lineup, Mariska wishes the network would reconsider moving SVU back to its original time slot.
?I hope we go back to where we belong. It was doing so well. Why mess with it??
Mariska opens up on being compared to her mother Jayne Mansfield, an iconic sex symbol and Hollywood? star in the 1940s and ?50s.
?I can never compete, so I don?t try. It?s mega ber, it?s legendary, it?s iconic. Being a sex symbol is not my thing; it?s not where I shine.?
Mariska comments on ?losing her home too early? after the death of her mother.
?I?m getting it back through Peter and August, and, strangely, through the foundation. It?s about following the signs, listening to your inner voice. I?m living my life, and I know that this is what I?m supposed to be doing.?
Playing detective Olivia Benson is a hard job, and in October, Mariska landed awkwardly during a stunt and didn?t realize until months later that she had suffered a collapsed lung.
?I thought it was a pulled rib. I?m pretty tough. When I couldn?t breathe anymore, I got an X-ray, and they couldn?t believe I was walking? I was doing stunts when I was pregnant. I?d fall, jump on guys. Now there are scenes when I have to run, and I?ll only take a few steps. Everyone is super-careful of me.?
Mariska started the foundation Joyful Heart, which helps survivors of sexual assault and is an important cause in her life.
?Doing something about it takes away some of my sadness. We can get closer to cures by shining a light on [the abuse]. I liken it to what happened with AA 15 years ago, where there?s not a stigma to it. We?d love to see that happen to sexual assault.?

Sigh? I love Mariska. I find her very ?real?. Maybe this isn?t who she really is, but give me my fantasy that she?s this cool and down-to-earth. I was really worried about her last year when she went into the hospital repeatedly, and I honestly thought it was something more serious than a collapsed lung - although that is serious, I just thought my girl was dying or something. Anyway, I?m glad that she?s doing well, I hope SVU returns to 10 p.m. and I hope they lose Christine Lahti?s number permanently.
