When I think about rock ?n? roll sex symbols, Billy Joel does not come to mind. I know hes a hell of a musician and probably richer than I can even conceive, but the fact that he dated not one but two of the 80s and 90s most famous supermodels makes me think that he must have some hidden qualities.
During a recent appearance on Watch What Happens Live, Australian model Elle Macpherson was asked by a caller about an incident Billy recounted in his biography where he brought Christie Brinkley back to his penthouse, while Elle was also living there, and the two models came face-to-face. Billy wrote in his biography that, in that moment, ?Part of me thought, ?Oh god.? Another part of me was going, ?Holy crap, if my friends could see me now!??
So, back to WWHL. Elle responded to the caller?s question by saying that, yes, she did indeed share a penthouse with the Piano Man in Central Park West (she occupied the upstairs portion of the pad) and said, ?I think he was dating Christie at the time, just starting to. So yeah, I got ousted, what can I say??
When host Andy Cohen asked if she or Christie was the inspiration for Billy?s hit ?Uptown Girl?, Elle said, ?I think it?s [about] all the uptown girls, put it that way.? Fellow guest Terrence Howard interjected, ?He had a thing for models? and Elle backed him up, saying, ?he liked tall girls.? I do get that. Billy is 5?5? , Elle is 6? and Christie is 5?9?. My dad is 5?7? and my mom is 5?9 (6?1? in her heels, which she was rarely seen out of in public in her heyday). It?s definitely a ?thing.?
In a recent interview with Australia?s Herald Sun, Elle discussed her age. She said that ?I love being 54. Im still here and Im turning 55 and Im just so grateful.? She added, ?I?m strong, Im fit, I have two amazing sons and Ive learnt a lot along the way and Im really grateful that Im as happy and healthy as I am.? Side note: her son Flynn Busson is not too hard on the eyes.

I put one version of this story in the links this week, but it?s worth discussing in an individual post. Elle Macpherson has seemed, to me, like a rather clueless person for some time. But I didn?t realize just how clueless she is: she actively pursued a relationship with Andrew Wakefield, and they?re now for-real together. If his name seems familiar, that?s probably because you?ve read some of the various exposs on Wakefield over the years. Wakefield was the ?doctor? who first made the fraudulent link between vaccines and autism. Wakefield and his now-debunked ?studies? were ground zero for the anti-Vaxx movement. And Elle Macpherson wants us to know that she pursued him.
Elle Macpherson has been with her new love for a while. The supermodel, 54, was photographed kissing Andrew Wakefield in Miami, Florida, on Friday one year after her divorce from billionaire Jeffrey Soffer. A Miami modeling source tells PEOPLE Macpherson and Wakefield, 61, ?have been dating for a while and seem to have much in common. Both are interested in alternative health practices and nutrition and sort of buck the norm to pursue their own idea. They agree on many health and nutrition issues. But he is not that well known around Miami.?
The source adds Wakefield, a disgraced doctor who linked vaccines to autism in a retracted study, was married for many years before meeting Macpherson.
?Elle swept him off his feet after they met at a business convention last year,? the source continues. ?They have kept things low-key but the romance is not new.?
Wakefield was a gastroenterologist in Britain before being removed from the UK medical register for unethical behavior, misconduct and fraud. In 2010 the British General Medical Council barred Wakefield from practicing medicine after investigating inquiries that Wakefield acted dishonestly in his research and conducted invasive and unnecessary procedures on children. Afterward, his 1998 paper, in which he falsely claimed that the polyvalent measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine was linked to autism, was retracted. He continued to defend his anti-vaccine views in 2011 saying that his findings and research were not fraudulent.

An interest in holistic medicine is different than a doctor committing medical malpractice and fraud to further an anti-vaccine movement. I mean, everybody has the right to fall in love and whatever I couldn?t care less about Elle and Wakefield?s romance. In and around 2008-09, Gwyneth Paltrow and Chris Martin were married, but it was widely believed that they were going through a major rough patch. Gwyneth spent a lot of time talking about how marriage meant that you had to put up with a lot of sh-t and she was in it for the long haul. And then she started spending A LOT of time with billionaire Jeffrey Soffer down in Miami. They were very, very friendly. She would stay at his Florida mansion whenever she was in town. Their affair was allegedly well-known among that set. Years later, Soffer married Elle Macpherson and Elle reportedly hated Gwyneth and all of those rumors. Many people wondered why Elle settled down with a guy who had that kind of reputation – a billionaire romancer of famous blondes – knowing that he seemed pretty shady in his private life. And guess what? Elle and Soffer are splitting up.
Elle Macpherson and Jeffrey Soffer have called it quits after nearly four years of marriage. A source close to Soffer confirmed the split to PEOPLE, saying simply, ?Jeff and Elle have split.? The 53-year-old Australian supermodel and wellness expert, known as ?The Body,? married the Miami-based billionaire real estate developer in July 2013 after getting engaged in March 2013. Their ?day wedding? ceremony took place before about 15 guests ? friends and family ? inside a villa at the luxury Laucala Resort in Fiji.
The pair dated for two years before splitting in March 2012 and then rekindled their romance after Soffer was injured in a 2012 helicopter crash in the Bahamas. The Britain & Ireland?s Next Top Model host was previously married to photographer Gilles Bensimon (Real Housewives star Kelly Bensimon?s ex), and her two sons are from her relationship with ex-fianc Arpad Busson.
Soffer had previously been linked to Gwyneth Paltrow. He ?has a lot of power over women,? said a Palm Beach source after Paltrow?s split with Chris Martin in 2014. ?He?s very seductive.? A Soffer family friend said the actress, who attended the reopening of the real estate mogul?s Fontainebleau hotel in 2008, ?was staying at Jeff?s house for quite a while? around that time. ?Something might have come from it had she been single. But she wasn?t.?

I?m living for the shady way People Magazine introduced that Gwyneth information. At first they make it sound like Gwyneth might have been dealing with Soffer after her marriage fell apart. But no. Their alleged affair happened 2008-09, when she was with Chris Martin. As for Elle and Jeffrey?s split? OH NO I CANNOT BELIEVE IT. Said no one.

It feels like Ellen Page came out years and years ago, right? But it was just last year, February 2014, when Ellen went on stage at Time to THRIVE conference and publicly declared ?I?m here today because I am gay.? According to Us Weekly?s sources, Ellen and Samantha have actually been dating quietly for seven months. There?s only been a handful of rumors about them and those rumors are just from the past month. So? they?re capable of keeping their business locked down.
What else do we know about Thomas? She grew up in Texas. She?s 33 years old right now (Page is 28). Her art is mostly 3D paintings. It seems she hasn?t aged in decades, and Elle Macpherson is sharing some helpful beauty hints in the August 2015 issue of Redbook magazine.
When it comes to skincare, the 51-year-old actress/model/businesswoman has a winning routine-
?I exfoliate my face every day and my body twice a day ? I shower in the morning and the evening. I use a body brush, which boosts circulation, and I always moisturize afterward. If I?m at the beach, I?ll just blend some moisturizer with sand and rub the mix all over my body, then rinse off in the ocean.?
Elle also discussed how she coped with turning 50 last year- ?I feel very secure within myself ? strong, happy and motivated. Hopefully I?ve gained some wisdom over the years. And I have a sense of humor about my mistakes. I?ve accepted that I don?t always get it right, but it?s not the end of the world.?
And when it comes to staying in shape, Ms. Macpherson knows just the ticket- ?I love being outdoors and doing sports like swimming, biking and hiking. As I?ve gotten older, I?ve increased my joy factor. Even if I?m I New York City or London, I?ll choose to walk rather than exercise in a gym.?

I sometimes feel like a cavewoman, or the last woman in the world who doesn?t give a crap about diets, food trends or bone broth. I try to eat most foods in moderation, but I don?t hate myself if I have a donut or a piece of chocolate. I barely drink, mostly because I got tired of hangovers. I work out, on average, four times a week and they are intense, sweaty affairs that leave me feeling exhausted and riding a wave of endorphins. Sometimes I eat at McDonalds. I love a good Caesar salad. All in all, I don?t really care ? I just do whatever feels good to me and I try not to stress about food. I?ve never tried the Paleo Diet. I?ve never tried Atkins. I?ve never been on Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. I?ve never gone vegetarian or vegan for longer than a few days.
What?s the point of all this? I guess I?m trying to give you my state of mind as I was reading this absolutely bizarre interview with Elle Macpherson. Elle is a former supermodel, of course, and I?ve always believed she?s sort of crazy. Her description of her diet is? um? I don?t know what descriptors to use? Ridiculous? Exhausting? Tedious? With a streak of ?girl, you need to find something better to do with your time.?
Elle Macpherson has a surprising secret to looking this good at 51 ? and it involves her urine, of all things. The entrepreneur and supermodel told the London Evening Standard that she keeps a pH balance urine tester kit in her handbag at all times to ensure her body is in an alkaline state.
“I believe that most ailments come from having an acidic body,” she says.
The co-founder and co-owner of the premium luxury wellness business WelleCo told PEOPLE she keeps her body at the preferred pH level ? said to reduce stress and protect bone health ? by taking her brand’s Super Elixir Alkalising Greens supplement daily.
“I don’t worry about wrinkles,” she says. “I tackle internal ageing by nourishing my cells from the inside and the welcome by-product is looking and feeling good.”
Macpherson also credits her fit physique to exercise, drinking lots of water and a consistent healthy diet free of red meat, wheat and dairy.
“I move my body for at least 45 minutes every day,” she says of her routine, which includes a mix of hiking, water skiing, swimming and running on the beach. “And drink lots of water ? 3 liters a day.”

Drinking lots of water is great. Having 45-minute workouts every day is great. Not eating red meat is okay ? lots of people don?t eat red meat. Dairy? Sure. Some people cut out dairy too. Wheat? I couldn?t do that, but sure. But for the love of God? carrying a pH balance urine tester kit with her at all times? Testing her urine when she?s, like, out to dinner? I?m sure there?s some science out there, somewhere, to back up her diet. And I mean, more power to her, if that?s how she wants to spend her time, bless her heart. But now everyone knows that whenever Elle goes to the bathroom, she?s weeing on pH tester kit.
Oh, and apparently Marmite is fine on her diet. As is dark chocolate. Ugh, I hate both. One last thing: she?s totally lying about her wrinkles, right? Elle is Bo to the ?Toxed.

Vanity Fair probably doesn?t have the Gwyneth Paltrow article ready yet. There was no Gwyneth headline on the Nicole Kidman cover, and there is no buzz about anything Goopy in the December issue at all. So maybe it will make the January issue, which will be released in the beginning of December? Pre-Christmas holiday with Gwyneth?s takedown? That would be a lovely Christmas present.
Anyway, as everyone keeps claiming, Vanity Fair is going to reveal Gwyneth?s 2009 affair (alleged!) with Florida billionaire Jeffrey Soffer. He was not married at the time, but she was. She and Chris Martin were having problems and she spent a lot of time in Florida, staying at Jeffrey?s mansion. In Touch Weekly even claimed last week that all of their friends knew about the affair, that it was an open secret, and that Jeff and Gwyneth would even hold hands at private parties. Interesting enough, this Gwyneth affair might have overlapped with the beginning of his relationship with Elle Macpherson. Elle and Jeff have been together since late 2009 (there?s the overlap) and they just got married a few months ago. So, what does Elle think of all of this gossip?
Amid reports that Gwyneth Paltrow once had an affair with billionaire Jeff Sofer, friends say that Jeff?s new wife Elle Macpherson has a message for her former pal.
?Elle doesn?t want Gwyneth anywhere near her man,? a source close to Jeff tells In Touch, explaining that Soffer was allegedly hooking up with Gwyneth when he met Elle back in early 2009.
?Jeff and Gwyneth?s relationship stopped as soon as Elle came on the scene ? Elle made sure of that.?

I wish I could remember the exact quote and I wish I could remember who said ? I think it was either Tina Brown or Candace Bushnell who said that at a certain point in a beautiful, famous woman?s life, she no longer cares about fame or love or emotional attachment, she merely wants a rich guy who will take of her, and preferably he will have a private jet. Something like that. Anyway, I was just reminded of that quote (that I can?t completely remember) when reading this story about Elle Macpherson. Elle has been dating millionaires and billionaires exclusively for two decades. Elle has tried relationships, she?s tries engagements, she?s even tried getting pregnant a few times, but only tried marriage once, in the ?80s. It sounds like she just got to that point where she just wanted a rich guy with a private jet:

When I was going through photos of Elle, I found that she had an entirely different boyfriend last fall. Meaning that when Elle and Jeffrey broke up in March 2012, she moved on pretty quickly and she was even showing off her new boyfriend by the fall. But Elle and Jeffrey ?rekindled? and got engaged so I guess everything is fine now. Congrats! I?ve heard some stories about Elle being kind of crazy, but we?ll see. I hope they both know what they were getting into. Oh? he?s five to six years younger than Elle! That?s interesting. Although she looks great for 49.

Elle Macpherson covers the August issue of Harper’s Bazaar Australia, and if you feel like her pose looks a little bit familiar, there’s a good reason for that. Elle, age 49, has recreated her iconic pose (black hosiery and some strategically placed limbs) for her Playboy magazine cover that was shot when she was 30. First off, the realization that nearly 20 years have passed since Elle’s Playboy cover makes me feel super old. Secondly, I also recall spotting this issue in my dad’s bedroom, which makes me feel a little creepy. (Sorry Dad, but I also saw your Vanna White and Madonna covers too.)
Apologies for that diversion. Elle is still “The Body,” isn’t she? She looks fantastic, and I strongly dislike it when people say someone looks good “for her age,” so I will just state the obvious — Elle Macpherson looks damn good for any age. Fittingly, this issue of Bazaar Australia is titled “Fabulous at any Age,” and Elle was photographed or Bazaar by Bryan Adams. Supposedly, she’ll be wearing Tom Ford in the editorial, and I can’t wait to see the rest of the shoot.
Here’s Elle out and about in London earlier this year. She really is completely gorgeous. That body, that hair, and that face are all impeccable.

Rocking "The Body" in some designer duds, Elle Macpherson attended the Barry the Dog fundraiser in London on Tuesday (March 26).
The 49-year-old model looked great in a black jacket, black and white patterned top, and black leather pants as she supported London's famous dog jogger.
As previously reported by GossipCenter, Elle is allegedly now engaged to billionaire beau Jeffrey Soffer.
Three years ago, the pair had an ongoing relationship before splitting up in March 2012. However, after he suffered an injury from a helicopter crash in November, the two reconciled.
