When news broke a year ago that The CW was modernizing 90210 I was freaking excited! After the show debuted my excitement started to cool. Then when the new show runner took over in the spring, I started to give up on this show. She started creating over the top storylines that work for the picked up for the fall Melrose Place 2.0, but they do not work for this show. And wait until you see what she does tonight. It is the dumbest episode yet with stupid storylines and bad acting. At one point Rob Estes and Lori Loughlin eat some special brownies and act to be high, seriously it is one of the saddest things I have seen on network TV in a long time. These two can’t act…high. I also felt bad for Shannen Doherty who returns to take part in a stupid dream sequence with Adriana who gave birth to her baby. Will she give it up?
Instead of cancelling the spinoff for Gossip Girl and Privileged, they should cancel the crappy show runner that they hired to for 90210.
If you really want to watch it, 90210’s season finale airs tonight on The CW at 9p.

Christian Bale is still trying to explain that obscene four-minute tirade against the director of photography on Terminator: Salvation that was released this February. Bale went on Good Morning America yesterday to promote the film, and ended up getting several questions about the leaked audio where he is heard screaming at this crew member. Bale defended himself on Good Morning America by saying it was the character of John Connor who had the anger problem. Ah, yes. That?s a good one. Blame it on the character.
Of course, Bale actually does take ?full responsibility? for the incident, while carefully avoiding questions about whether he seriously does have larger anger management issues. Recently, Bale gave an interview where he took also ?full responsibility?, yet managed to give some of the blame to whoever released the audio of the rant, saying it was a breach of creative trust. And now he gets to pull out the ?privacy? card when asked about that incident where he, his mother and his sister got into some physical/verbal altercation. It doesn?t seem like full responsibility to me, but what do I know?
Christian Bale?s having a tough time shaking his hot-headed reputation after infamously berating a film crew member last summer.
On ?Good Morning America? Monday to promote his new film “Terminator Salvation,” out this Thursday, Bale was asked whether he has an anger management problem.
“Well, certainly John Connor has an anger problem, ” Bale demurred, referring to his “Terminator” alter ego.
Bale’s four-minute, profanity-laced tirade against director of photography Shane Hurlbut on the set of the film was leaked onto the Internet earlier this year, where it became the star of musical remixes and parodies. Bale issued a public apology on LA?s KROQ radio station in February.
“The whole incident was something which absolutely I regret, but we were resolved within 30 seconds on the film set,” Bale said on “GMA,” calling the blowup ?unfortunate” and “inexcusable.”
“I take full responsibility for it. Absolutely.”
Bale was also pressed about anger issues in his personal life. The actor was arrested last July in London after a heated argument with his mother and sister. He was released on bail and never charged.
“I maintain incredible privacy. I do believe it’s, you know, nothing but a family affair,” Bale said. “And obviously, I assume, we all understand things like that happen, and I don’t desire to go into more explanation because I think as an actor, I like just to act and have people believe the characters. So I appreciate people respecting my privacy on those issues.”

I don?t doubt that Bale really is sorry for his verbal attack on Shane Hurlbut. I just think he?s equally sorry the tape saw the light of day. Bale?s a great actor, and he has a knack for playing characters that burn with intensity. Maybe it?s not so much the parts he?s offered, but the violent characters he?s drawn to. So, did Bale learn his lesson after this ordeal? Maybe, maybe not. My guess is that it will depend on how well Terminator: Salvation does at the box office. Hollywood has a habit of looking the other way when a guy?s an a–hole, but only if that a–hole makes them money.

You know, because accessories make or break a look.

Before showing up at the Life Ball she was a guest at Marcus von Anhalt?s ?Blonde is Beautiful? party in a VIP nightclub in Frankfurt. Prince Proll told BILD: ?She’s nice and she came over to talk to me. But she is 41! What do I want with an old woman?? Ouch!

According to The Sun, there’s an onset feud brewing between Gwyneth Paltrow and Scarlett Johansson. Scarlett is hogging the spotlight what with her natural sexiness. Additionally, not only was Gwyneth anticipating working with Emily Blunt instead of Scarlett, but now she has put up with being dressed in pants suits while Johansson is running around in the movie wearing catsuits and carrying guns which is how it should be.
One Hollywood source revealed yesterday: ?Gwyneth has become very frustrated with Scarlett.
?They come from different worlds and have completely different styles.
?Gwyneth has found Scarlett very demanding of the attention of the crew. It?s not a happy set.?
Gwyneth?s had to live with that and she has been very professional, but she and Scarlett haven?t developed a friendship on the shoot, which is almost at the half way point.
Is it any wonder that Gwyneth Paltrow hates Scarlett Johansson? She’s young, has big tits, hot and is basically the exact opposite of Paltrow. Angelina Jolie, an outspoken advocate for the rights of children across the world, attended the International Criminal Court trial of a Congolese warlord charged with using child soldiers Tuesday in the Netherlands, the AP reports.
A statement released by the court Tuesday says the case against Thomas Lubanga is a “landmark trial for children,” and called attention to former child soldiers who traveled to The Hague to testify. This trial is the first international trial to focus on child soldiers.
Lubanga is the founder and former leader of the Union of Congolese Patriots political movement and its armed wing. He has pleaded innocent to charges of recruiting and using child soldiers in tribal conflicts in 2002-2003. The United Nations estimates up to 250,000 child soldiers still fight in more than a dozen countries.

I realize that a lot of people don?t care for Scarlett, but I think she?s a gifted actress and I?ve never read an interview where she didn?t come across as intelligent and nice. Even if you don?t care for her acting or her looks, she really seems like a professional. Unlike Paltrow, who has never met a situation where she didn?t demand special treatment. In the end, Gwyneth should be grateful she got a gig on a really successful franchise. And as Pepper Potts, she?s playing ?the good girl?, so you know the hero is going to end up with her.

Brad Pitt and his brother Doug just contributed $600,000 to Drury University in Missouri. The money goes towards The O?Reilly Family Event Center, which is currently being built on campus, but it?s not just some athletic giveaway. The money is being specifically designated towards making the center meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design (LEED) gold standards. The certification of ?gold? is the second-highest standard a building can meet. In exchange for their donation, Brad and Doug Pitt asked the court in the center be named for their father, William A. Pitt. According to the Spingfield News-Leader, ?The arena will be among the first in the nation to meet the gold standard.? They?re trying to complete the arena before Pittsburgh?s 2010 completion of the Consol Energy Arena, future home of the NHL’s Penguins.
Edsel Matthews said he was a little relieved after the ceremonial groundbreaking for the O’Reilly Family Event Center on Friday.
The vice president of athletics affairs at Drury University has spent the past 18 months raising enough funds to move forward with the construction.
“It’s exhilaration and relief at the same time,” Matthews said. “We’re not through. We’ve got a lot more to do, but we’re thrilled to move to this point.”
The $13.5 million, 3,100-seat arena will be the home of the Drury men’s and women’s basketball teams starting in the 2010-11 season. Bulldozers already had begun clearing the land a few weeks before Friday’s ceremonies.
Although Matthews said he still needs to raise about $500,000 to fund fixtures and furnishings, the project got another large donation late last month.
The Pitt family of Springfield, led by Brad, Doug and Julie, donated $600,000 in exchange for the court being named the William A. Pitt Court in honor of their father.
The name of the court will be emblazoned on the outside of the building. The donation will go toward upgrading the building’s environmental friendliness.
Now, the O’Reilly Family Event Center will be built to meet the U.S. Green Building Council’s Leadership in Environmental Energy and Design (LEED) gold standards. Gold certification is the second-highest standard a building can meet.
“Brad’s hobby is architecture, and his push in the ‘Make It Right’ campaign has been working at the highest levels of LEED certifications they can,” Doug Pitt said. “So to be involved in any type of building project, that’s going to be at the forefront of any conversation right away.?
“It was something that was important to him, and it was something that was important to the O’Reilly family and something that was important to Drury.”
The “Make It Right” project is a campaign run by Brad Pitt to rebuild the Lower Ninth Ward in New Orleans with affordable, environmentally friendly houses.
The arena will be among the first in the nation to meet the gold standard. Consol Energy Arena in Pittsburgh, future home of the NHL’s Penguins and scheduled to open in 2010, is also on pace for gold certification.
“Doing a gold event center is a major statement,” Drury president Todd Parnell said.
“With Drury having partners that we have, the O’Reilly family, the Pitt family, CoxHealth and the Mabee Foundation, it speaks to the quality of the project. It’s a great day.”
The ceremony had barely wrapped up before the bulldozers started working again.

It?s a cool thing to do, a really nice way for Brad and Doug to honor their dad, and to make one of those huge stadiums more environmentally-friendly is a great idea. In any case, it?s better than nothing. Brad and Doug have worked together on a few charitable endeavors over the past few years. Late last year, Brad and Angelina (through The Jolie-Pitt Foundation) matched funds with local Missouri businesses to support a children?s charity providing clothes, food and school supplies to children living in poverty.
My first thought when I read this was ?Oh, Brad?s promoting a movie.? I totally support Brad and Angelina?s charitable endeavors, but sometimes I think they should try to separate the timing of their charity activities with their promotional film duties. It may seem to them like they?re cross-promoting a certain cause while promoting a film, but another way to spin it is that they?re just giving money at certain times when they?ve got something to promote, and they want to look really great and magnanimous.

Jessica Biel isn’t a great actress by any stretch of the imagination, but don’t tell her that. She’s under the impression that it’s her beauty that’s keeping her from landing those juicy film roles. She tells the June issue of Allure via Us:
“Yeah, it really is a problem. I have to be blunt.”
“I’m in there with everybody else, fighting for the good parts. Yes, The Illusionist has made a difference — but a huge, massive difference, so I can pick and choose what I want? No.”
“I just want an opportunity. If you don’t like the audition, don’t hire me! But if you don’t want to even see me — that’s hurtful. And why? You know nothing about me!”
Maybe the real problem is those linebacker shoulders Biel somehow managed to to sculpt in the last four years. Casting agents find that intimidating. They want you to get the part by banging you on a dirty couch. They don’t want you to get the part by you threatening to punch their testicles so hard into their body that they’ll be tasting them for the next month.

I’m not sure what this outfit is. I think it’s one of those dresses that were made to cover bikinis when you’re taking a break from the beach. Which makes absolutely no sense. Mariska Hargitay is finally clearing the air about her repeated hospitalizationso ver the past several months. As Mariska went in and out of the hospital and on and off the set of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit, the rumors have been everything to near-death pneumonia to some sort of contract negotiations with SVU producers. Mariska spoke out Monday night, telling People Magazine that as she was doing a stunt during SVU filming, she ?fell wrong, basically? and collapsed her lung. As for the repeated hospitalizations, Mariska?s rep still claims that those visits were only for repeated tests and check-ups. Oh, well. If she?s out and about, that?s a good sign. Hopefully she?s feeling a lot better:
Since January, when her rep announced Mariska Hargitay had suffered a partially collapsed lung, information about the nature of the Law & Order: SVU’s star condition has been scant, until now.
During a dinner in Manhattan for the American Ballet Theater on Monday, Hargitay, 45, told PEOPLE: “I’ve been doing my own stunts on the show for 10 years. I fell wrong, basically. I collapsed my lung doing a stunt.”
Hargitay underwent surgery in January, then returned to work on her NBC series soon after ? only to check back into the hospital on March 3, at which time her rep said: “She is undergoing routine tests and expects to be feeling better soon.”
A March 9 statement said, “Mariska is recovering well and is expected to return to SVU in the next couple of weeks.” On March 23, PEOPLE reported she was back on the set.
And now? “I’m 100 percent,” a spectacular-looking Hargitay, in a long gown by Caroline Herrera, told PEOPLE at the dinner, where Caroline Kennedy introduced Michelle Obama, who in turn introduced the young performers of the ABT’s Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis School.
Added Hargitay: “I’m back to my old self.”

Yes, Mariska is already back to shooting Special Victims Unit, even though this has been the worst season ever. Well, there have been a few exceptions. That episode about child soldiers immigrating to New York was really good - and they even filmed a scene at the United Nations! That was exciting. But perhaps for Mariska?s return next season, they should get some more interesting sex crimes.
The National Enquirer has a theory this week on Mariska?s illness and her new-found health - they claim that now that she?s feeling better, she?s really wants to try to get pregnant again. Her son August turn three next month - and he?s one of the cutest babies ever. Good gene pool!
?Mariska is happily telling close friends her collapsed lung issues are over and all she can think of is giving her son August a little baby brother or sister - and soon!? a source revealed to The Enquirer.
[She] and husband Peter Hermann, 41, whom she married in 2004, began making effort again to expand their family, says another insider. August was born in June 2006.
?It?s her dream to have a second child - it?s almost as if it?s all she can think about,? said the insider.

I was thinking about reporting on this story last week, but it didn?t seem like there was much to go on. They?re not claiming Mariska is pregnant, only that she would like another child. Which I?m sure she would - although she?s already given some quotes about how much she?s missing from August?s childhood by being on the SVU set so much. So either she?s trying to get pregnant, or she?s signed on for another few years on SVU. Who knows?

One staffer at the restaurant confirmed to Page Six the two were there celebrating the Yanks’ win against the Minnesota Twins.
“Yes, they were here together,” the server told us, although she did not witness any lip-lock herself.
Another source said the two were spotted over the weekend outside the glamorous 15 Central Park West, where A-Rod rents an apartment.

Doesn’t it seem like Kate Hudson has piss poor taste in men? She was rumored to be back with Owen Wilson for a while, and he’s not the worst choice, but he also seems like a player. Lance Armstrong is just not ready to settle down, and he pretty much proved it by breaking up with her just a few months after the two went public with their relationship last year at Cannes. It seems like Kate is the type of woman who kind of throws herself into a relationship and doesn’t stop to think if the guy is the right choice for her. Rodriguez is probably into her at this point, but how long until he jets? Brazilian model Jesus Luz, 22, may have caught the interest of pop star Madonna, 50, for somewhat less superficial reasons than we all assumed. Luz bears a close resemblance to Madonna’s ex, Carlos Leon, and he also shares her interest in the mystical Jewish-based cult Kabbalah. According to the NY Post, Luz was studying Kabbalah at the insistence of his then-girlfriend at least six months before he met Madonna. It looks like his ex-girlfriend did all the heavy lifting and Madonna swooped in for the already-converted prize:
She’s always liked them hot, young and Latin, but Madonna’s latest boy toy has another special charm — he was a Kabbalist before they even met.
Jesus Luz, 22, immersed himself in the religion while he was still a struggling model in Rio de Janeiro. Since the late 1990s, Madonna has been an avid follower of the movement, which stems from Jewish mysticism and equates God to a ray of light.
“Madonna must have thought she met God when she found Jesus,” said a Kabbalah devotee in New York, noting that “Jesus Luz” translates from Portuguese as “Jesus Light.”
Leonardo Reis, manager of the Kabbalah Center in Rio, helped Luz with his studies starting in July 2008, six months before Jesus met Madonna.
“All I can say to you is that Madonna is really, really happy with Jesus,” Reis said. “When she found out he was into Kabbalah, they really started to hit it off.”
Reis organized a special Shabbat dinner for the couple and their friends after they met at a Rio photo shoot last December. The dinner, complete with lit candles and guests clothed in white, was held at sunset in Madonna’s luxe suite at the Copacabana Palace Hotel with its stunning views of the Atlantic.
Spirituality has always been a part of Luz’s life. His mother, Cristiane Regina da Silva, 37, is a member of the “Evangelicals,” a growing Protestant cult movement in Brazil. His father, an administrator at a public hospital in the Rio suburbs, says he decided to name his son Jesus because he admired the philosophy of Christ.

I was really hoping this relationship was a mutual publicity stunt as it’s just too creepy to imagine Madonna with a kid 28 years her junior. It’s also skeevy when an older man snares a much-younger woman, but there’s something about Madonna that makes her seem so predatory. Model Jesus is probably thrilled to be along for the ride. He’s said to command six figures and up for fashion show appearances and just shot ads for Dolce & Gabbana. In comparison, he made just $100 for the two day shoot for W Magazine through which he met the pop star.
Last week there was a story that Jesus’ father claimed that Madonna and his son would marry in some kind of legally non-binding Kabbalah commitment ceremony. Madonna’s people denied that anything was in the works, but they also denied her first adoption of David Banda up until it was complete. I wonder how Madonna’s bid to adopt Mercy is going. Biel also opens up about dating the more-famous Justin Timberlake — and the attention that’s brought her.
“I mean, you love who you love! It’s not like you meet somebody one day and say, ‘OK, I’m not going to put up with his fame!’ or ‘Yes, I am going to put up with his celebrity,’” she says. “You can?t choose that. It just happens to you.”
Biel says she hasn’t “moved out to New York City full-time” with Timberlake. “I’m here because I’m interested in theater,” she insists.
She’s not sure they’ll ever wed. “I have no idea if I want to get married,” she says. “I have a lot to do careerwise.”

Was this ?too beautiful? talking point issued to all of the young Hollywood actresses? Because what Jessica?s saying seems very similar to Megan Fox?s obscene tirade about how people tell her she?s ?too beautiful? for certain parts. What is with these girls?
I?ll give them the benefit of the doubt for a moment, and accept their premise. So Jessica Biel is so gorgeous that directors look at her and say to themselves ?There?s no way a girl that stunning could play the girl-next-door in this romantic comedy I?ve got.? That?s the problem I have accepting Biel and Fox?s premise, though. Hollywood consistently miscasts actresses in those standard girl-next-door roles, or vixen roles, or best friend roles. All of the young Hollywood girls are probably auditioning for the same parts of ?The Girl? in whatever interchangeable film. Whoever gets the part probably came cheapest or had the least professional drama. And if Biel is talking about the heavier acting challenges in dramas and Oscar-bait, well that has nothing to do with beauty and everything to do with talent.

Paris Hilton has sparked engagement rumors yet again by showing up in Cannes with an enormous ring on her left ring finger. Despite rumors that he proposed, Paris is probably not engaged to her boyfriend of all of three months, reality star Doug Reinhardt. That doesn’t mean she can’t pretend with another giant bauble that may or may not be new.
Cops were called last week when Paris and Doug got into a very loud screaming match, angering their already annoyed neighbors. It turns out that someone played a cruel prank on Paris and claimed to have found her beloved chihuahua Tinkerbell dead in the street. Paris was supposedly screaming about Tinkerbell’s demise and wasn’t in a lover’s spat with Doug. Tinkerbell turned out to be fine. Whatever the reasons for Paris’ latest outburst, Doug’s neighbors aren’t happy with all the noise and paparazzi that come along with these two like flies on manure. One guy offered Doug’s landlord an additional $5,000 a month over the $22,000 rent Doug is paying, if he would evict Doug and Paris.
Paris is in Cannes with an actual film to promote - the documentary about her called Paris, Not France. Yesterday The Sun reported that Paris complains in the film that she could have been like Princess Diana if only that pesky sex tape hadn’t come out. That’s not exactly what she said. In the trailer for the movie, Paris complains in separate sections about the sex tape, and about not being able to be like Princess Diana for some other reason, most likely because she’s a complete twit. There’s some point made in the film about how she’s created this public persona that’s different from whatever depth and intelligence she secretly possesses, although that’s hard to believe. Paris, Not France will most likely air on MTV this summer.

In Touch had a feature this week about Drew’s reconciled relationship with Justin Long. Unlike their first go-around she’s trying to keep it under wraps and isn’t telling the press how wonderful he is whenever she gets a chance. According to In Touch, Drew and Justin are planning on moving in together:
Drew Barrymore has yet to acknowledge it, but she and Justin Long, 30, have definitely rekindled their romance. “They are together, but they want everyone to think they’re just friends now,” says one pal, and another adds, “They’re so close, Drew even wears his clothes out during the day.” In fact, it’s gotten so serious that they’re planning to move in together. On May 1, Drew, 34, met with a real estate agent to start searching for a place for them to share. “Drew wants to live with Justin in a sort of trial marriage, so that’s why she’s looking for a new home,” says her friend.

Of course this is the Daily Mirror, so take the Josh Hartnett bit with a grain of salt. But maybe Sienna has finally realized that openly dating a married man and being photographed topless with him was not a good idea. This isn’t the first story we’ve heard about Sienna and Josh hooking up. They were also linked in the fall of last year, when they were spotted on at least two dates.
As we’ve reported, and as mentioned in the article, Sienna’s reputation has been ruining her chances for roles. The official story was that Sienna was “too young” to play Maid Marian to Russell Crowe’s Robin Hood, and was replaced by Cate Blanchett. But it also seems likely that her diva ways and self-entitlement didn’t help either.
The last we heard from Sienna she was in the Congo reporting on the beautiful surroundings and luxury hotels.

That?s not all! It seems that after some rumors that husband Chris Martin didn?t care for Goop (the website and newsletter, not his wife), he?s now fully behind Gwyneth?s Goop-brand dreams. Lisa Rinna has finally spoken out about what happened to her lips. Rinna went on the Today show Monday morning to do full disclosure on her botched cosmetic work. Rinna claims that after she saw Barbara Hershey?s puffy lips in Beaches, she decided to go in for the same procedure. Rinna described the procedure as an injection of silicone to her upper lip, but not her bottom lip. Rinna claims that after one treatment, the silicone hardened, and she later had to go in for a cortisone injection, which was ?gross? according to Rinna.
Rinna completes her explanation by saying ?I do not blow up and down my lips.? I really think she?s trying to convince us that she only had a couple of things done to her lips many years ago, but that she doesn?t do anything to them now. Which is… crazy. Her lips are so bloated, they could be a floatation device. But I do love a good Beaches reference. Her lips are the wind beneath her wings! That doesn?t make sense, I know, but neither does this:
Say this for Lisa Rinna: She has loose lips as far as her thick lips are concerned.
“That’s the Pink elephant in the room,” the actress, 45, said on Monday’s Today show. “This is the first time I have told what I have done to my lips.”
It all started 23 years ago, said Rinna as her husband, former L.A. Law star Harry Hamlin, watched from the wings. “I had silicone put in my top lip not the bottom lip.”
The look she was after was what Barbara Hershey had in the Bette Midler movie Beaches, “plump and beautiful,” said Rinna. “I was gullible enough to go and do it.”
Not that she was dissatisfied with the outcome. She loved the look, which, she noted, “Made me who I am.”
The Reversal
But then the silicone hardened, and the look of the scar tissue was no longer plump and beautiful. Next came a cortisone injection, and that was “gross,” she said.
But that, in a nutshell, is the saga of Rinna’s pucker apparatus. “I do not blow up and down my lips,” she assured fans.
There to promote her book, Rinnavation, due to be published Tuesday, Rinna ? who also appears in a Playboy spread this month that her husband described as “awesome” ? discussed the book’s self-help points. This includes how she got her sex drive back after having children, “or else risk losing Harry,” as well as diet and fitness advice.

I don?t think there?s anything wrong with cosmetic surgery, but I think it?s cheap when celebrities lie about it. If they don?t want to admit what they?ve had done, fine. Don?t say anything, we?ll probably figure it out, even though it?s none of our business. It?s the lying that gets to me… like Courteney Cox saying she tried Botox once, when she now gets mistaken for Janice Dickinson. Full disclosure, Lisa! If you?re going to talk about, be honest!

With Kelly Clarkson's latest album, All I Ever Wanted, a hit with fans and critics alike, the singer admits that four albums into her career, she's happy that all her hard work is still paying off.
"I'm pretty proud of it," she told MTV News backstage at Z100's Zootopia concert in East Rutherford, New Jersey. "We worked really hard on it — really hard on it. So it's cool when it pays off. ... I don't ever want to do something I'm not proud of in 10 or 20 years. I want to make music I want to sing and I'm gonna be proud of."
Clarkson stays proud of the work she puts out by making sure she has a hand in every aspect of the album. "I don't listen to anyone on any records. I listen to myself and my gut," she said.
While she got some bad press for her previous album My December, Clarkson said she also had complete creative control over that project. "My December was no different than any other record," she said. "And if people actually listen to it, you'd find that it's a very pop record. It's made no different from any other record. There's 'Never Again,' which is the big pop anthem, and then there's the ballads like 'Sober.' It's very much my formula for every album."
She did get out of her element a bit for All I Ever Wanted, working with some new people and trying out a few different types of songs. Clarkson hooked up with Katy Perry for "I Do Not Hook Up" and OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder for "If I Can't Have You."
"It is about continuing with the formula, but that doesn't mean that you can't try something different," she said. " ... 'Ready' is different than anything I've ever done on an album. I've produced a song on the album. So we do definitely do different things on the albums, but the basic formula is variety. I never want to do the same song twice. I hate when people do that."

That is to say, why aren’t they celebrated even more?
