Last year, we talked about intermittent fasting like it was the trendy new diet, which is what Chris Pratt made it sound like in December 2018. Intermittent fasting has been around for a long time, and it has roots in nearly every religion. But in 2018-19, fasting is being divorced from religion and being rebranded as a cool, interesting way to lose weight. Or something. The idea behind intermittent fasting is that you only allow yourself to eat solid food for a certain portion of the day, like a six-hour or eight-hour window, and then you ?fast? (or only drink liquids) the other 16 or 18 hours of the day. Well, fasting is getting a new celebrity face: Jennifer Aniston is a fan.
Add Jennifer Aniston to the growing list of celebs who love intermittent fasting. The 50-year-old actress said she?s had major success on the eating plan, which requires fasting for 16 hours a day and eating only during an eight-hour period.
?I do intermittent fasting, so there?s no food in the morning,? she told U.K. outlet Radio Times. ?I noticed a big difference in going without solid food for 16 hours.?
Instead, Aniston ? a late riser who gets up around 9 a.m. each day ? sticks to just liquids in the mornings, like green juices and coffee. ?Today, I woke up and had a celery juice,? she said. ?Then I started to brew some coffee, but I don?t drink coffee that early.?
Before sitting down with her cup of joe, Aniston said she meditated, worked out and fed her dogs. Her Morning Show costar Reese Witherspoon, on the other hand, is up with the sun because of her 7-year-old son Tennessee, who wakes her up at 5:30 or 6 a.m. But she, like Aniston, prefers a liquid breakfast.
?I just have a green juice and a coffee in the morning,? Witherspoon, 43, said. The mom of three also forces herself to start exercising in the morning. ?I find it really hard to work out before 7:30 a.m. But that?s the time I start one; 7:30 a.m.,? Witherspoon said. ?I probably do that six days a week.?

I?ve never been a breakfast person, and I only do a big morning meal if it?s brunch and there?s bacon involved. At this point in my life, I do force myself to eat something in the morning (yogurt and a banana) just because I know that A) I?ll be starving by lunchtime if I don?t eat something early, and B) I legitimately feel like that?s a healthier way to start my day. Several years back, commenters recommended starting my day, first thing, with a glass of water, so now I try to do that too (I drink about half a glass most mornings). My point is? I could probably not eat anything in the mornings, and I could probably stick to eating in an eight-hour window, but I would end up eating too much in that window of time. As for Jennifer? I wonder if she still does some version of the Zone diet too. She was so big on that?

| Kelly Ripa: My son hates paying his own rent and is chronically poor | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Jimmy Kimmel is in New York this week, specifically Brooklyn. He broadcasts from the East Coast for a week at least once a year, which is always fun because of the guests he can get who are working in New York. Kelly Ripa joined Jimmy (after he appeared on her show, Live with Kelly and Ryan) and she talked about ? wait for it ? her kids. Mainly she talked about her oldest child, Michael, who attends New York University and lives in Brooklyn. According to Kelly, Michael is footing his own bill for room and board and it?s proving a challenge as it?s leaving him ?chronically poor.?
If you don?t have time for the whole interview, here?s the part about Michael?s financial straits:
Your son lives in Brooklyn now. How?s that going for him? Does he like it?
You know, I think he loves the freedom. He hates paying his own rent and he is chronically poor. I don?t think he ever experienced extreme poverty like now. It?s very funny, my parents, always give my kids, for years, for Halloween, they mail them an envelope with $20 in it. For years, I?m like, ?Mom, Dad, you don?t have to do that. They don?t appreciate it, don?t worry about it.? For years, my kids sort of ignored the $20 and Mark and I would say, ?you know, when we were kids, $20 would take you through weeks and weeks of life.? But now that he?s living on his own, he?s called like three times, ?Halloween envelope arrive?? He?s like, tak(ing) the subway, to get his Halloween envelope. Just so he can have electricity.
At the risk of being a Kelly apologist, I do think she?s being sarcastic calling him ?chronically poor? and experiencing ?extreme poverty.? And Michael?s neighborhood, Bushwick, is listed as one of the more affordable options in Brooklyn. But let?s face it, the average rent is still almost $3K/month so let?s be real, the kid?s not slumming it. But if I?m reading between the lines, which I think is what Kelly is hoping we will do, Michael is on a budget now and he?s learning to live within it. I doubt Michael has a job, I?m sure his parents pay his rent and give him a monthly allowance, but honestly, even that?s admirable for a celebrity kid. We all know his parents will bail him out if things become too dire, but forcing him to learn how to stretch a dollar by not paying his gas bill for him is a step in the right direction. Although I do agree with Jimmy, who gets $20 for Halloween?
As mentioned, Michael goes to NYU?s Tisch School of Arts. He asked Kelly to be a producer on one of his school projects, an experimental film. Kelly posted the cute Instagram below, but the best part of the story is about the professor for whom Michael was doing the project, Chris Goutman. Kelly said Chris was the casting director who directed Mark Consuelos and Kelly?s screen test on All My Children and worked with them on the soap for 11 years. So when Michael was touring the various film schools to determine which he wanted to attend, Chris singled him out and said, ?You have to go here because I am literally the reason you exist.? I love that story but I hope not all kids have to decide their futures based on how they got here, otherwise mine are working in a Jameson?s distillery.

| Keira Knightley: If I don't pump when I?m away from my baby my boobs explode | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kiera Knightly and husband James Righton welcomed their second daughter, Delilah, in September. (Show of hands, who now has the Plain White T?s song stuck in their head? *raises hand*) James and Keira also have a four-year-old named Edie. Now that Delilah (hey there!) is seven weeks old, Keira is back working and promoting her film, Official Secrets, about an Iraq war intelligence translator turned whistleblower. During her interviews and red carpets, Keira?s let little bits and pieces about her new baby leak out. Literally, it turns out, as Keira is producing so much more milk this go round, she hits critical mass if she doesn?t pump.
Despite outward appearances for work engagements and otherwise, Knightley insists she?s having to take life day by day and schedule pumping for her newborn?s feedings strategically.
?We?re going to be apart for six hours in total, so I pumped three feeds? worth,? she says in the interview, joking of using the breast pump, ?If I don?t do it my boobs will explode.?
?I mean, quite literally. It?s going everywhere,? Knightley continues, also sharing that she is taking six months of maternity leave. ?So, you know, that?s not happening. The pump is with me. It?s fine.?
Earlier this month, Knightley hit the red carpet for the London premiere of her new film Official Secrets ? where she plays Iraq war intelligence translator Katharine Gun ? after quietly giving birth to her second child.
The actress and new mom of two sat down with BBC Breakfast?s Louise Minchin the next morning to discuss peaceful protests and her latest movie role ? and opened up about her baby for the first time.
The Pride & Prejudice star went on to describe her demanding pumping schedule, including that she had pumped breast milk right before she went on camera for the interview.
?I?ve gotta get back before 6:30 because that?s the feed. It?s going to be fine, we?re going to make it,? Knightley told Minchin. ?There is a bit of extra milk ? which I?d love not to use, because it?s in the freezer and that can be tricky ? but it is there.?
Of having to ?deal with the stuff that normal moms have to deal with,? the actress said, ?I definitely have to deal with pumping. Everyone has to deal with pumping ? I mean, if you?re doing that and it?s working. If you want to do that and if you can do that ? then yes, we?re pumping. Pumping. So much pumping.?
[From People]
Oh, how I remember the pain of a non-pumped boob full of breastmilk. And it was a double-edged sword, too, because they looked so gorgeous in that state but yes, if someone so much as brushed past me, I?d have to do a full outfit change. We talk quite a bit about not knowing what to expect with each child and this is a prime example. It sounds like Keira has a lot more milk this time and I?m sure that was a hell of a surprise when she first started dealing with it. The thing about the second child is, even though everyone tells you otherwise, you go into it thinking you know what to expect. So poor Keira is expecting the same milk flow and schedule as with Edie and Blam! she?s momentarily blinded the dog with a sudden shot of milk. However, like Keira, I think any mom would rather have too much than too little, regardless of having a pair of active volcanos attached to their chest.
As for the film she?s promoting, it looks really good. Plus the cast is great, and it was well-reviewed. But it was released in the US in August, how did I not hear anything about it?
