| Kristen Stewart on diversity: 'The industry is old so the perspective is quite narrow' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I had to rewrite/re-edit yesterday?s Kristen Stewart post several times before I published it. Kristen was/is at Sundance to promote her latest indie film, Certain Women, and she spoke to Variety about some of the issues facing Hollywood today. Variety released their video with the journalist?s question edited out, and then they made the headline for the story something like ?Kristen Stewart says words about diversity.? As in, Variety put it out there that K-Stew was saying artists of color are complainers who just need to suck it up and write their own stuff and that the whole conversation is ?boring.? Variety corrected that version hours later ? Kristen was talking about the wage-inequality discussion, and how it?s boring to talk about how women in the industry get paid less than men and female-led stories are undervalued.
So, there you go. She was rolling her eyes and wallowing in her privilege about women in Hollywood, not diversity. But it was only a matter of time before someone got her on the record about diversity. E! News was the outlet ? they cornered her on a red carpet and got her to say some words about it.
Kristen Stewart doesn’t claim to have all the answers, but she certainly thinks there’s a diversity problem in Hollywood.
“I think an easy way to speak to it is just the industry is old so the perspective is quite narrow,” Stewart told me at the Sundance Film Festival premiere of Certain Women. “So I think on multiple levels everyone is pretty aware of that. How to fix that? I have no idea.”
Stewart did, however, point to how successful Sundance is at diversity.
“The cool thing about independent movies is we are kind of untouched,” she said. “The cool thing about Sundance is that we are fairly untouched by the political nature of who gets the pats on the backs.”
[From E! News]
Kristen?s speech patterns mimic Yoda. ?I think an easy way to speak to it is just the industry is old so the perspective is quite narrow.? The hell? Narrow the industry is. Old the executives are. Anyway, what did you expect from Kristen Stewart trying to unpack a complicated issue during a quickie red carpet interview? I guess if we want to set the bar really low, we can give her credit for not rolling her eyes and saying ?Diversity is so boring.?

| LeAnn Rimes & Eddie Cibrian step out in Beverly Hills: organized pap stroll? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian in Beverly Hills yesterday. Her jeans were ripped, her boots were fug and her ?Superb? t-shirt was basic. I suspect that this was an organized pap stroll, even though LeAnn?s expression is set to ?pissy.? She wanted to be seen, she wanted people to talk about her outfit, and even more than that, she wanted people to see that she was holding hands with Eddie. So there you go.
For several weeks now, the anti-LeAnn people have been following me on Twitter and including me in their conversations. While I enjoy the enthusiasm and gossip, the conversations do get convoluted and hard-to-follow. There was a big to-do about LeAnn not attributing quotes on her #ChalkTalk Instagrams, and then when she tried to give one attribution, she got it wrong and then wouldn?t admit it. Then there was the drama with long-time ?LeAnn Enemy? Ilana Angel ? go here to read Ilana?s recap, which is just disturbing. Basically, LeAnn?s BFF Darrell Brown and his husband/partner organized some kind of weird stalking session on Ilana and the whole story is really crazy.
Sigh? I kind of wish LeAnn would delete all of her social media profiles and just go and live her life. But even then, I suspect that the insanity would need to be channeled somewhere, so God knows where it would pop up if she actually did take a break from social media.

| Catherine Zeta Jones in Elie Saab at London premiere: ageless or tweaked? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

We haven?t written about Catherine Zeta-Jones in more than a year. It?s not that she?s been in the wind ? photo archives show that she?s been photographed on average at least once a month or once every two months. But it does seem like seeing Catherine on a major red carpet is a rare occasion these days. These photos are of Catherine at last night?s London premiere of Dad?s Army, a film that seems like a throwback ?war comedy? in the vein of, like, a Bob Hope film or something. Catherine plays a female journalist that throws an English Home Guard platoon into a tizzy in 1944.
Since I haven?t really been paying attention to Catherine for a few years, I was sort of surprised that she doesn?t look dramatically different. I?ve gotten so used to celebrities ?going away? for a few months and coming back with an entirely new face. Which isn?t to say that I think Catherine is scalpel-free. I think she?s been worked on, but it?s good, expensive, gradual work. The effect is that she looks somewhat hazy and ageless rather than radically different. My guess is that she (like Sharon Stone) gets smaller tweaks here and there. I also think Catherine avoids Botox because she doesn?t have that frozen look of so many 40-plus actresses. The one part of her body that does look visibly ?worked on?? Her bust. She had a boob job several years ago and her girls look well-maintained surgically.
Catherine?s dress here is Elie Saab. I think the effect is sort of old-school glamour, like Elizabeth Taylor in the 1970s. I also enjoy the fact that Catherine isn?t stick thin ? the fact that she?s put on a few pounds as she?s aged helps her look younger, just my opinion.
PS? Catherine and Michael Douglas are still back together ? they were just out together in NYC before the holidays and they seem to be doing okay. Michael was not at this premiere though, just FYI.

| Emily Blunt is expecting her second child, Hazel is already 23 months old | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?ve been on a hot streak for months with accurate predictions for celebrity pregnancies. I saw photos of Emily Blunt a few weeks ago and I thought to myself, ?She?s totally pregnant.? And as it turns out? she is! Emily and John Krasinski are expecting their second child, her rep confirmed Tuesday to multiple outlets. Emily spent the last few months filming The Girl on the Train, playing the lead character who is supposed to be sort of booze-bloated and out of shape, so that?s how Emily hid her bump.
While both Us Weekly and People Magazine had confirmations of Emily?s pregnancy, they don?t say how far along she is. I would suspect she?s about three or four months along, or just to the point where she can?t really hide it anymore. John and Emily?s first child, daughter Hazel, is just shy of two years old. Emily is just 32 years old (I always think she?s much older) and John is 36. I?ll admit to being slightly surprised by this, mostly because I think Emily was more of a ?one and done? sort of woman. She didn?t really complain about pregnancy or any of that, but I just thought she probably wasn?t up for it a second time around. But people change their minds all the time.
Incidentally, I finally watched Sicario over the weekend. I sort of disagree with the people claiming that it was one of the best films of the year or whatever. Don?t get me wrong, it was a solid film. Emily was good but not particularly award-worthy, and Benicio del Toro was stunning. Josh Brolin was surprisingly great too (I think he?s a douche in real life but man, that guy can act). Mostly the film just reminded me of the first season of True Detective. It was like a two-hour episode of True Detective: Border Edition.

| Bethenny Frankel wears fuchsia extensions: idiotic or served its purpose? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Bethenny Frankel stepped out to promote SkinnyGirl candy with new fuchsia hair extensions with black roots. She knew this would get her more publicity than continuing to complain about workers speaking Spanish in stores. By the way, at least one of you mentioned the conspiracy theory that Bethenny was paid for those tweets by Donald Trump to advance his anti-immigrant agenda. It’s very possible, she gets a lot of press, but I think it’s more likely that she’s just a racist a-hole who assumes people can’t speak English when she hears them speaking Spanish. Bethenny has not issued an apology or clarification, and she doubled down on her remarks in a recent statement to US, saying “I would never be one of those celebrities that just wants to please everybody and wants to say exactly what everybody wants to hear and tiptoes around. If you want to hear my opinion, go on Instagram or Twitter and it?s there. You don?t have to agree with me.” Some of you agreed with her however I really question whether she even spoke to the workers because she tweeted that she wasn’t going to try.
Bethenny wore this her hair in this flatironed garish color and it really emphasized her Botox. She looks like a wax figure or like she’s an anime version of Raggedy Ann. The Daily Mail reports that she’s wearing “Pink Couture hair extensions by Tokyo Stylez” and a jumpsuit by Mugler that retails for $2,630. She made an appearance at Dylan’s Candy store in Manhattan yesterday to promote the line. Here’s some of what she told People about the candy:
?I think I saw a void [in the market],? Frankel tells PEOPLE of her latest venture. ?Every woman I know has a sweet tooth and most women I know have PMS or they get emotional and they want chocolate [?] It?s low calorie and they?re delicious; people are obsessed with them. And I don?t think there?s really anything else out there like that ? especially with such quality. There?s a lot of chocolate, but it feels like junk food.?
The new product line includes chocolate truffles, chocolate bars, chocolate-covered almonds, and gummies ? each coming in pre-portioned packages at 100 calories each ? as well as three flavors of mints (which have zero calories per serving).
?Portion control is huge,? Frankel says. ?I don?t believe in fake; I believe in good quality ingredients. I?d rather have less of something really good than a lot of something fake. I think those little portioned packets are just very female.?
[From People]
In terms of SkinnyGirl “candy,” I don’t see the need for “diet” candy. If you want to eat candy and you’re on a diet, go ahead. Just fit it into your calories for the day. There are no “good” or “bad” candies/calories, just make sure you get your protein and nutrients and leave enough room for snacks. My favorites are the little individually wrapped Ghirardelli chocolate caramel squares at just 70 calories. There are also other individually wrapped mini chocolates available from Dove, Lindt and Ritter. It bugs me that SkinnyGirl also puts out sh*tty wine and mixed drinks when similar products are already available which are much tastier. Just measure it out and it’s a damn diet food. It’s all branding.
