Meanwhile, in a recent interview Miss Clarkson shared that although she?s experienced massive fame and fortune since winning ?American Idol? years ago, she still stays grounded in reality.

I heard about these rumors just after the election last month, but Politico had a new story a few days ago in which several sources are now confirming something awesome/terrible. Ashley Judd is actively considering a Senate run in 2014. The initial rumors had her considering a run in Tennessee or Kentucky, but Politico says that if she runs, it will definitely be in Kentucky (which is where she grew up). And if she runs in 2014, that means she?ll be running against the current Senate Minority Leader (and thorn in Pres. Obama?s side) Mitch McConnell. Ashley Judd vs. Mitch McConnell? It might not be as far-fetched as you think. The Hollywood movie star and eighth-generation Kentuckian is seriously exploring a 2014 run for the Senate to take on the powerful Republican leader, four people familiar with the matter tell POLITICO. In recent weeks, Judd has spoken with Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand (D-N.Y.) about the possibility of a run, has discussed a potential bid with a Democratic pollster and has begun to conduct opposition research on herself to see where she?s most vulnerable in the Bluegrass State, sources say.
Whether Judd jumps into the race remains far from certain. She?s reportedly also weighing whether to wait until 2016 to instead take on freshman Sen. Rand Paul, sources say. But if Judd does become a candidate, she would be the biggest celebrity to run for the Senate since Al Franken?s successful 2008 bid for the Minnesota seat. And her entrance would add a level of star power to a race that was already poised to be the highest-profile in the country with the Senate Republican leader up for a sixth term in 2014.
?She is doing all the things that a serious candidate exploring a race should do,? Rep. John Yarmuth (D-Ky.) told POLITICO after speaking with her. ?I think there are a lot of people, and I was one of them, who wanted to let her know that her candidacy would be an exciting prospect for us. That?s what I wanted her to know. A lot of the labor unions, they were telling me that too.?
A Judd spokeswoman declined to comment beyond an earlier statement when the actress said she was ?very honored? by the consideration, but didn?t shut the door on a run.
Democrats privately acknowledge that recruiting isn?t easy against McConnell, as the state?s strongest Democrats may instead run for governor in 2015 rather than face the GOP leader?s machine in a bare-knuckle Senate bid. That?s why some Democrats are calling on Judd to run ? she could raise a ton of cash, energize the base and would have significant name recognition in the state. Yet other Democrats are nervous about her prospective candidacy: She?d be pegged as a liberal, out of touch with conservative Kentucky; she has no experience running for office; and she now lives outside her home state.
McConnell?s campaign is already talking about how it?s prepared to tear apart any Democrat who joins the fray.
?It?s going to sting,? Jesse Benton, McConnell?s campaign manager, warned to any candidates considering a run. ?We?re going to make sure that you don?t come out with your nose clean. We?re going to drive your negatives up and very aggressively and publicly litigate your record before the citizens of Kentucky.?
?This is not a free run to prime yourself for future office in ?15,? said Benton, who declined to comment on Judd specifically.

Politico goes on to discuss the causes Ashley has been involved with over the years, including AIDS research, treatment and prevention, women?s right to choose, and her criticism of mountaintop removal mining. She?s a well-known and out-spoken liberal Democrat, which will help bring money to a possible race, of course, but it doesn?t even guarantee her the Democratic nomination in Kentucky, considering the more conservative demographics.
But really? this is just further evidence (in my mind) of how out-of-touch most political operatives are about ?the real world?. Anyone who has read a celebrity blog over the past year would be able to tell you this is a horrible idea. Ashley Judd should be considered an extremely flawed potential candidate for state-wide office. Her speeches would be nonsensical ramblings of ?big words? thrown together, and she wouldn?t be able to handle legitimate (or off-side) criticism without throwing a massive hissy fit and calling all Kentuckians ?misogynists? for failing to compliment her ?flawless skin?. Can you even imagine Ashley in a debate against Sen. McConnell? Good God, that would be a mess. I guess strategically, it would make sense to run Judd against McConnell if the Dems feel like they have no chance at the seat and they just want to raise money or something. But even then, surely there are better candidates?

These are photos of Matt Damon, his wife Luciana, and Matt’s co-star and co-screenwriter, John Krasinski, at the premiere of Promised Land in New York last night. You know I love Matt Damon, and I originally told Kaiser she could cover this until I saw video of Damon on Letterman, got all swoony and told her “he’s mine!” That may sound ridiculous, but maybe you’ll understand if you see the clip. Damon was doing his Matthew McConaughey impression, at Letterman’s request, and talking up his former roommate McConaughey’s chances at earning an Oscar for Magic Mike. It was nice to see and reminded me why I love Damon. You can watch it here.
In terms of Lucy’s dress, it’s a one-shoulder silk number that has a bizarre cut with a draped panel running across the front. We don’t have a designer ID on this but Kaiser is telling me it looks like Gucci. Lucy often shows a lot of cleavage, so this is a change for her I guess. It’s a striking dress and I love the pop of color, but the cut seems off to me somehow. It looks like she could be hiding a baby bump until you see the dress from the side. Still, she looks amazing and I love her hair and makeup. Also, I love Matt Damon always and forever but he needs to ditch the transitions lenses at night.
Promised Land is out in wide release on January 4, and will be in limited release on December 28, just in time for awards season! It’s about a representative from a natural gas company (Damon) who comes to a small town to convince the locals to let his company drill. He meets some opposition from a farmer turned environmentalist whose land was destroyed by fracking (Krasinski). You can see the trailer here. It looks so good! The film also stars Rosemarie Dewitt and Frances McDormand.

For the second night in a row, Taylor Swift and Harry Styles spent the night together. Is that epic or what? The girl-woman who is all about ponies and sparkles and Romeos gives it up to a boy-bander within a few weeks. Swifty and Harry have been in New York City together for days ? I think they?re technically staying in different hotels, but I think Swifty spent the night at his hotel on Monday night and he stayed over at her hotel last night. You can see a photo of Harry and Taylor entering her hotel here. So? she?s not hung up on this Conor Kennedy thing at all. Swifty moves on very quickly, doesn?t she?
I?m not slut-shaming her or anything ? she?s a single girl, she should be dating and having fun and figuring which dudes will stick around and which dudes will break her heart. The problem (to me) is just that Swifty seems to only care about boyfriends and broken hearts and that?s all she ever sings about. But there are some complaints from her fans and from One Direction fans too. Hilariously, one of those 1D fans is Eminem?s 16-year-old daughter Hailie, and Hailie is PISSED. This cracked me up:
Hailie Jade Mathers, the 16-year-old daughter of rapper Eminem, blasted Taylor on her Twitter page, declaring that Harry was the ‘love of her life’.
After wishing the singer’s One Direction bandmate Niall Horan ‘good luck’ ahead of the What Makes You Beautiful hitmaker’s Madison Square Gardens performance on Monday night, Hailie wrote: ‘if @taylorswift13 is really dating the love of my life @Harry_Styles i will not be happy.!’
But the rant didn’t end there, with the smitten teen then hitting out at Taylor for ‘whoring around’ to find sufficient heartbreak material for her new album, and declaring she would never listen to the country music star’s tracks again.
She tweeted: ‘Dear @taylorswift13, please stop whoring around with every guy you see. We all know you’re only doing it so you can make another album. I, am never, ever, everrrrr, listening to your music againnnn @taylorswift13. LIKE EVER.’
After posting another message to a pal, which said ‘TRUTH HURTS ?? Lmfaooo !!!’ it would seem Hailie became a target for Haylor fans.
She later wrote: ‘Getting so much hate … But really couldn’t care less xD.’
But it doesn’t seem Taylor and Harry are too bothered by Hailie’s comments as they continue to flaunt their romance for all to see. On Tuesday, the pair emerged from the same hotel just moments apart, dotting the i and crossing the t for the rumour mill on whether they are really a couple.
The couple seemed to be smiling to themselves following their late-night sleepover, which had seen the duo arrive back at their hotel at 4am following One Direction’s gig at Madison Square Gardens. And although he was presumably taking about his gig, Harry seemed to have a whale of a time, tweeting: ‘Last night was the best thing I have ever done.’

Eminem?s daughter is hilarious. I love that Eminem?s teenage daughter is a crazy 1D fan. The universe has a sense of humor, right? As for Hailie?s demand that Swifty ?stop whoring around? with every dude? well? that?s coming from a place of 1D-fandom. Once again, it?s not that Swifty gives it up for every dude who looks at her for two consecutive seconds (?OMG, that means he wants to get married!!!?), it?s the dichotomy between her actions and her little-girl public persona.

These are new photos of Stacy Keibler at an event for? something something Old Spice. Let?s see? it was the launch of an ?Old Spice video game? (WTF?) called “Dikembe Mutombo’s 4.5 Weeks to Save the World.” Something about the Mayan apocalypse etc. Stacy did the appearance with Mutombo, and I?m guessing this was totally a paid appearance. Those video games have a crazy amount of money to spread around, so Stacy probably banked mid-five-figures (at least) for a couple of hours of work. Should we talk about her outfit? I actually like her jacket, although it?s too stiff and I know people are going to scream ?PREGNANT!? at her. I feel very confident that she?s not pregnant. I feel pretty confident that Clooney had a vasectomy so there would be no ?surprises?. I also have to say? Stacy is looking ?hard? here. Too much Botox or too much hard living or something. She looks old before her time.
Anyway, to promote this Old Spice video game (seriously, WTF?), Stacy also did a quickie interview with ESPN. Because why not? You can read the full thing here, but here?s all of the relevant stuff:

So you were born just outside Baltimore and worked for the Ravens as a cheerleader when you were 18. They just came off a tough loss to the Steelers. Think they can win the Super Bowl?
I have season tickets and I’m still a huge fan. I always go back to at least one game. I’m with them through thick and thin, and I’m confident they will do well this year.
What’s your thoughts on your wrestling career (1999-2006) as a manager and occasional wrestler?
Everything is a steppingstone. It was a great chapter in my life. I spent eight years touring the world and I have wonderful memories. I love my fans. But I’ve moved on to other things.
You’ve worked with various humanitarian organizations recently. What has that meant to you?
I think it’s a responsibility for everyone to give back. With the holidays just around the corner, it’s not all about getting. It’s about giving. Either as a volunteer. A charity. Helping a friend.
And how is it coming with your healthy snack food line?
We’re still in development. But I just set up a trust to raise money for child obesity. We need to re-educate people about what they are putting in their bodies. You can heal your body with food. It can prevent cancer and prevent childhood obesity. You need to be smart about what you put in your body. It’s a huge epidemic right now.
You’ve been dating George Clooney for several years. How do you keep your personal lives to yourselves?
It’s really not anyone’s business. A personal life is a personal life. I know there has to be a happy medium being in the public eye. You just have to remember not to give everything to everybody!

Has it been ?several years?? No. It?s been about a year and a half, tops. They got together in the summer of 2011, although it seemed more like an international booty call at the time. Do you remember that? Clooney was staying at Lake Como and he pretty much ordered up Stacy and she flew to him, then flew back to LA when he was done with her, and then he called her again a month later or something. The beginning of their relationship was definitely weird. As for Stacy?s ?It’s really not anyone’s business. A personal life is a personal life? ? good girl. Keep it vague. Don?t offer up too much. I think Clooney has her on notice since she started trying on engagement rings in September.

After visiting London to promote her fashion line, Kim Kardashian has become quite the anglophile, and now she’s hoping to hold an elaborate wedding across the pond. Though Kardashian is still mired in stalled divorce proceedings with her ex husband Kris Humphries, her boyfriend Kanye West is reportedly hoping to ask her to marry him as soon as the divorce is final. And when he does, friends say Kardashian already has plans for their nuptial ceremony.
Her vision is similar to the royal wedding between Prince William and Kate Middleton, and the reality star is hoping to carry out her big day as royally as possible.
”Kim would love to wed at Westminster Abbey like William and Catherine, but that won’t be possible. Instead she’s been looking at castles near London,” an insider said. “She wants the most spectacular wedding and she’s talking about having guests like Jay-Z and Beyonce, Eva Longoria, Lindsay Lohan, Rihanna and Katy Perry arrive in horse drawn carriages ? just like the royal wedding.”
Kardashian and West have also been shopping for a home to share together in London. Kim reportedly fell head over heels in love with the city during a trip there to launch the Kardashian Kollection for Dorothy Perkins, and she thinks it would be the perfect place to settle down with West.
“[Kim and Kanye] are just fascinated with British culture. They so welcome in England and now feel ready for a change … and a new challenge outside of the U.S,” a source said. “Kim K. especially loves the idea of a cute, nice three bedroom townhouse located close to one of London’s beautiful family parks.”
And though they haven’t chosen a home just yet, the couple reportedly already has some design ideas for what they want their lavish digs to look like.
“‘It’s going to be huge ? at least 2,000 square feet. And luxury is top priority from the carpet to the light fixtures,” the source revealed. “Kim and Kanye love Old Hollywood so that’s going to be a theme with lots of white and cream with splashes of butter yellow and black and some leopard print.”
