|
She?s been staying below the radar as of late, but Stacy Keibler emerged on Monday (December 8) with an adorable photo of her three-month-old daughter. The former WWE superstar took to her website to show off little Ava Grace and it sounds like she?s settled into motherhood quite nicely.
Keibler wrote, ?Ava has graced us with such joy, such light and such love ? we never say it coming. She is our special little lady, and I couldn?t be more thankful for how she has opened my heart.?
Stacy also sang the praises of her husband Jared Pobre (they got married in March)- ?Until I started dating Jared, the idea of being married and having a family was never on my radar. I was just hoping that the right love would find me. But after a serendipitous reconnection with Jared, a friend who turned out to be my soulmate, we created a family together almost instantly. Talk about a serious change in my reality!?

This time around, director Frank Miller (think ?Sin City?) has set the two movie stars in a comic book-flavored film noir scenario complete with plenty of fire. Comprised of a few sexy flashback scenes, the Gucci Guilty fragrance commercial culminates in both Evan and Chris coming back together, if only for a brief moment.

| Angelina Jolie is Cautious About Showing Her Children 'Unbroken' | Added 9 years ago | Source: Celebrity Gossip |

|
Fans are eager to see her latest film ?Unbroken? when it hits theaters on Christmas Day, and Angelina Jolie is still thinking through whether all of her kids are ready for a viewing.
The ?Gone in 60 Seconds? starlet told E! News, "It's PG-13. My boys?one is 13, one is 11 but he's a mature 11?will see it, but I think I might actually show my younger children."
As for the younger ones, "I think they could handle it because they understand film. They know the difference of what is real and what isn't, because it's heavy for [kids] under 13. But they all knew Louis [Zamperini]. They want to see it because it's Louis."
Previously, Angelina gushed over her relationship with Zamparini- "He was like a father and grandfather to me. I hope [the movie] gave him peace to know that he could pass away knowing that his message was strong, knowing that his life was long and full."
As for her toughest critic, Jolie declared, "My Maddox, the oldest. It's his job. He's a teenager."

| Stacy Keibler posts first photo of daughter Ava Pobre on her blog: adorable? | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

It?s interesting to me that on the same day that TMZ discussed whether or not Amal Clooney is knocked up that Stacy Keibler decided to publish the first public photo of her daughter, Ava Pobre. Maybe I should stop comparing Stacy?s life with George Clooney?s life, but I can?t help it! I?m actually sort of proud of Stacy and how she rebounded so spectacularly from Clooney. She wants us to know that she?s doing well too. And she wants us to know that she NEVER wanted to marry Clooney or have his babies. This is what she posted on her blog along with Ava?s first photo:
Life can be unpredictable.
You feel one way, and then?boom! You need to entirely change your perspective.
That is certainly what happened to me this past year. Until I started dating Jared, the idea of being married and having a family was never on my radar. I was just hoping that the right love would find me.
But after a serendipitous reconnection with Jared, a friend who turned out to be my soulmate, we created a family together almost instantly. Talk about a serious change in my reality! This year and the holiday season especially has me feeling so nostalgic about family ? my family, my new family, and of course, the newest addition to our family.
Ava has graced us with such joy, such light and such love?we never saw it coming. She is our special little lady, and I couldn?t be more thankful for how she has opened my heart.
[From Stacy?s blog]
Yeah? okay. As I said, I?m happy for her. And I?m impressed with how quickly she managed to go from ?breaking up with Clooney? to ?marrying Jared Pobre in what turned out to be a shotgun wedding.? But she?s lying to us and herself if she?s claiming she never, ever thought about marriage and babies when she was with George. Of course she did. She made a play for that life with George and when she figured out that it wasn?t going to happen with him, she moved on like a boss.

| Alyssa Milano on breastfeeding: 'we shouldn't have to go in the bathroom' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
These are photos of Alyssa Milano at the premiere of Into The Woods last night. That hunter green peasant blouse with the corset is a bit ridiculous and her cleavage is OTT but it’s a period film so maybe she wanted to get into the spirit. She’s not actually in the movie, though.
Last month Alyssa shared a breastfeeding selfie on Instagram with her three month-old daughter, Elizabeth, go here to see. It’s a really nice photo that captures a fleeting time in her baby’s life. Alyssa, 41, also has son Milo, 3, with her husband of six years, CAA agent David Bugliari. Apparently the breastfeeding photo was somewhat controversial, because there are always going to be people who say clueless things like “OMG put it away.” My favorite comment was the first one, which concluded “a breastfeeding photo is better than a greasy ass. Thank you for being an inspiration.” Exactly.
At an event for The March of Dimes, E! asked Alyssa about the photo. She had some nice things to say about breastfeeding.
While the actress wasn’t necessary “surprised” by the response, she knew she wanted to make a statement.
“I just think it’s important for women to feel comfortable feeding their babies wherever,” she told E! News at the March of Dimes’ Celebration of Babies event. “If we’re in public, we shouldn’t have to go in the bathroom.”
She added, “I don’t want to eat in a public bathroom. Why should I feed my baby in a public bathroom?”
Milano, who recently decided to leave her hit TV show Mistresses to focus on her family, also can’t seem to understand why photos like hers get so much scrutiny.
“I think it has a lot to do with the sexualization of women’s bodies,” she shared. “I think it’s almost more shocking if you show a picture of the body doing what it’s supposed to be doing than a sexy picture of yourself in a bathing suit or something like that. It’s just a weird double standard I think.”
[From E!]
I think I’ve shared this story here once before, so forgive me if you’ve already heard it. When my son was a few months old, I was still very self conscious about feeding him in public so I went to the bathroom at an Olive Garden restaurant. (My friends were having a big get together there.) A woman actually gave me the stink eye for nursing him – in the bathroom! A few months later we moved to Germany and all of a sudden no one cared that I was breastfeeding him wherever. I found that to be such a relief.
Alyssa has previously spoken about the double standard with people criticizing her breastfeeding photo. She said on The Talk last month that “I got really sad about [the reactions to] it. Because…who are we, that now we get upset as human beings if we see a woman feeding her baby? It’s crazy to me.” She also tweeted a reference to Kim Kardashian’s Paper Mag cover, which came out before she instagrammed the nursing pic. “I don’t get it. No disrespect to Kim [Kardashian] but… people are offended by my breastfeeding selfies & are fine with her (amazing) booty cover?” There are of course the people who will complain about everything, that’s just the Internet, but I definitely agree with her point. At least Facebook changed their policy on nursing photos after a lot of pressure from women’s rights groups.
Spoilers for past episodes of Mistresses follow
Also, I want to talk a little about Alyssa leaving Mistresses. I forgot that she was off the show! I probably won’t watch it without her, Savi was my favorite character and some of the sub plots were really dumb. Joss and Harry?! No.

| Emily Blunt in Dolce & Gabbana at 'Into the Woods' premiere: gorgeous' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These are photos from last night’s world premiere of Into the Woods in NYC. Johnny Depp plays the Big Bad Wolf, but he was nowhere to be seen. We could interpret his absence in many scandalous ways. Maybe he was sleeping it off. Whatever “it” may be. The big stars of the premiere were Emily Blunt and John Krasinski. Emily plays the Baker’s Wife, and she went all out in a floral Dolce & Gabbanna dress. It’s so cold in NYC right now, and this dress is very springlike, but it fits with the movie’s theme. This is a lush and gorgeous dress. The embroidered roses are quite bold, but this is a fairytale movie. Emily looks very event appropriate and gorgeous. John is wearing a Dolce & Gabbanna suit.
Anna Kendrick went for an understated Narciso Rodriguez gown in black and white silk. The dress has a leather waistband, which is kind of cool. She looks very elegant and beautiful but a little dull. Anna plays Cinderella in this movie, so something fussier would have been fun.
Meryl Streep looked fantastic as always. I don’t have an ID on this dress and coat, but it may have come straight out of the closet. Meryl can get away with that.
Lots of other celebs came out for the premiere. I’m including Jon Hamm with his jaunty hat and Jennifer Westfeldt, Trudy Styler and Sting, Christine Baranski, and Tracey Ullman. CB already covered Alyssa Milano’s cleave. Chris Cornell brought the whole fam. Oh, and Ralph Macchio! Wax on, wax off.

| Gwen Stefani does not regret the racially insensitive 'Harajuku Girls' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Here are some photos of Gwen Stefani at The Voice?s Season 7 red carpet event last night in Hollywood. Is it just me or does she need a different kind of blonde? I know this is her ?look? ? the bright lipstick, full face of makeup and white-blonde hair, which has always served her well. But as she gets a bit older, I feel like she needs to soften her look a little bit. Even if she went for an ashy blonde, that might help a bit.
Anyway, Gwen is promoting her work on The Voice, plus another solo album. The album was produced by her BFF Pharrell Williams. Gwen gave a nice interview to Time Mag to promote her work ? go here to read. As I was skimming that piece, I was reminded of the long-standing controversy about Gwen: her tone-deafness when it comes to anything racially sensitive. Gwen might be a lovely person in real life, but she has a history of cultural appropriation. Time Mag asks her specifically about the ?Harajuku Girls,? the four Japanese ?dancers? (re: props) that she used several years back. She ?renamed? them as Love, Angel, Music and Baby and she treated them like pets in public. Stefani received some criticism from various quarters, and Margaret Cho specifically called her out ? go here to review. So, Time asked Gwen about it and this is what she said:
Time Mag: Looking back on Love. Angel. Music. Baby., do you regret the Harajuku Girls given the criticism you received?
Gwen: No. There?s always going to be two sides to everything. For me, everything that I did with the Harajuku Girls was just a pure compliment and being a fan. You can?t be a fan of somebody else? Or another culture? Of course you can. Of course you can celebrate other cultures. That?s what Japanese culture and American culture have done. It?s like I say in the song [?Harajuku Girls?]: it?s a ping-pong match. We do something American, they take it and they flip it and make it so Japanese and so cool. And we take it back and go, ?Whoa, that?s so cool!? That?s so beautiful. It?s a beautiful thing in the world, how our cultures come together. I don?t feel like I did anything but share that love. You can look at it from a negative point of view if you want to, but get off my cloud. Because, seriously, that was all meant out of love.
And the girls themselves, it was just a magical thing to get to know them. They were dancers that were cast, but they became real. One girl was a Japanese girl that grew up in L.A., and she got to hang around with three different Japanese girls that were from different places in Japan and had different backgrounds. They became best friends, and she got to go to Japan and see her heritage and see how we are all the same. And I got to hang out with girls for the first time.
[From Time]
Yeah, the criticism wasn?t that she hired four Japanese dancers. The criticism wasn?t that she loves Japanese culture. The criticism was that she renamed the dancers and treated those women as props? culturally appropriated props.

| Christian Bale defends 'Exodus' casting: indies should make 'the change' first | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Here are photos from the NYC premiere of Exodus: Gods and Kings. Yesterday, I touched briefly upon the controversy swirling around this movie. Some of it has to do with Bale popping off and alienating the film’s target audience with his observations of the Moses character. The even messier business has to do with the ongoing kertuffle over the film’s casting. Ridley Scott previously made comment upon how there’s no way to get a blockbuster movie financed in Spain (for tax rebates) and “say that my lead actor is Mohammad so-and-so from such-and-such.” This was how Ridley justified using lighter-skinned actors in roles that could/should have been filled with darker-skinned actors.
Hollywood has well-established history of culturally unsound casting methods. This won’t change until a blockbuster director finally takes a stand. Christian Bale believes differently. The first quote sounds terrible, and I think it’s his use of the word “suffer” that really tips the scales. The second quote places the burden of change upon not studios but indie filmmakers:
Bale to ET: “Ridley?s point, which I think is a good one, is what does an Egyptian look like? Especially at that time when this was the empire, so it would be a crossroads of Europe and the Middle East and Africa, and he cast accordingly. I don?t know the fact that I was born in Wales and suffer with this skin that can?t deal with the sun should dictate that Ridley should say, ‘In that case, he’s not the right man to play the role.’ I did the best that I can. I?m certainly not going to pass it up. It?s a hell of a role.”
Bale to Hollywood Reporter: “I don’t think you can make any religious adaptation without heckles being raised somewhere, that’s the nature of it. It would absolutely be a wonderful day of celebration if, within a few decades, we have another Moses and he’s a North African or Middle Eastern actor — what a wonderful thing. Ridley [Scott] is absolutely honest and blunt to a fault, and I think that people, rather than pointing fingers, should ask themselves, are they being supportive of North African and Middle Eastern filmmakers and actors? … The change will come from independent filmmaking, but audiences have to be there. Because once that happens, financiers of bigger and bigger budget films will say, ‘We can actually do business here.’”
[From Entertainment Tonight & Hollywood Reporter]
Bale just can’t stop digging that hole. He can’t shut his mouth on this subject even though nothing good has come from his thoughts on the Exodus casting matter. He’s also defensive about taking the Moses role, which I sort of understand because Bale is so neurotic about delivering in any role. But Bale passes the buck by saying indie filmmakers must be the pioneers to change the way Hollywood casts culturally sensitive roles. Blockbusters can’t won’t take that risk, according to both Ridley and Chrstian. Nope.

| Viggo Mortensen: Winning awards won't 'make you any better as an actor' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
Here are some photos from this past weekend?s 14th Marrakech International Film Festival. Viggo Mortensen screened his new film there, plus he was honored with a lifetime achievement award (presented by Melanie Laurent). Viggo looks good here, doesn?t he? I?m happy to see that his weird easy-breezy blonde phase is over and he?s currently doing the salt-and-pepper thing. He?s 56 years old right now.
Variety did extensive coverage of Viggo?s speech ? you can read the piece here. Apparently, he spoke in French through most of his acceptance speech, but offered some words to Arabic as well to the mostly-Arab crowd. Some highlights from his speech, plus some quotes from a press conference:
We must try to see how we?re similar: ?Different zones of the world seem to be really different, but when individuals from different backgrounds are forced to work together they often find that they?re not so different from each other. By showing this we can help people see eye-to-eye. This is particularly important in places torn by conflict, such as Israel, Syria, Libya or Egypt. It may seem to be impossible to bring people together, because of differences of religion, economics, race, class, politics or money. But if you don?t try, nothing will change. You have to try. Knowledge isn?t just about power. It?s also about freedom.?
Awards don?t make you better: ?I don?t think that awards make you any better as an actor. They don?t enable you to do the job any better. I think ?Eastern Promises? was a special case, because it struck a chord. But you never know what the audience or critical reaction will be to your films. It doesn?t change my way of acting.?
His favorite film: Mortensen revealed that he considers Cronenberg?s ?A History of Violence? one of his best films to date. ?It?s a near perfect film noir/thriller.?
[From Variety]
Eastern Promises is such an uneven film, but he?s right about it striking a chord ? and he?s really, really good in it. The story is just weak and uneven in some parts. And yes, A History of Violence is probably one of his best films. I think his Dr. Freud in A Dangerous Method was really, really great too.
So, would you hit it? At this point, I would not. No disrespect! I would just rather have dinner with him and listen to him talk about all of his interests.

| Jennifer Aniston: 'I?m always trying to find the great, small, slice-of life roles' | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
I went down a gossip rabbit hole when I was looking up information for this story. As we?ve previewed before, Jennifer Aniston participated in the Los Angeles Times? Best Actress roundtable discussion this year, which the LAT did with EPIX. Aniston did the roundtable with Jessica Chastain (sure), Gugu Mbatha-Raw (absolutely), Shailene Woodley (what?) and Emily Blunt. Blunt was the one I got stuck on ? I thought, ?Wait, does she have some awards-bait this year?? I guess she?s there for Into the Woods? But is Blunt really trying for any awards for that? And Shailene isn?t going to be nominated for anything major either? although out of the group, Shailene and Chastain are the only ones who have managed to get an Oscar nomination in previous years.
Anyway, in the newly released videos, Aniston talks about the physical side of playing a character in chronic pain. Surprisingly enough, this sort of reminded me of some of Eddie Redmayne?s interviews, where he spoke about having to control his movements to a really precise level. At one point, Aniston says:
?I’m always trying to find the great small roles; the stronger sort of slice of life, complex. And I’ve been doing fart jokes for a long time, which I love immensely, but I think it does allow you to sort of take care of business and then you can also spend the time with these little labors of love which I’ve come to discover you sometimes have to create for yourself? I had a lot of empathy for her, well not Dr. Julia – she’s just god awful and just a horn dog. But I felt extreme… She’s extremely horny. But for Claire I just had a lot of empathy for her struggle and I think she is beautiful. And I think her problems and her choices and her journey is beautiful in the fact that we feel empathy for people going through pain.”
[From Yahoo]
We?ve heard the fart thing before. It?s like she?s trying to follow the Jennifer Lawrence Path! Next she?ll be talking about Doritos, obviously. As for the rest of it? I think she?s telling the truth. She really does try to find smaller projects and interesting work in indies and dramas, but the thing is? very few people in Hollywood really want to cast her in those roles. They?re happy enough putting her in rom-coms or another Horrible Bosses, but no one wants to put her in a straight-up drama at this point.
Here are two videos from EPIX/LAT. (NSFW for one f-bomb in the second video.)

| Joaquin Phoenix announces he's engaged to his yoga instructor | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
Well this is an unexpected development. Joaquin Phoenix visited David Letterman last night to promote Inherent Vice. The two started kicking back anecdotes and talking about back pain. As one does. Then Joaquin started talking about a bizarre yoga class experience where he was attempting the “harnessing the hog” position. Huh. Hatha yoga must have really changed since I was involved a handful of years ago. Is this a real yoga position? Joaquin attempts to replicate the position in the video for Dave, and it looks like a joke.
What wasn’t a joke? Joaquin dropped a bomb on Letterman. Dude says he’s engaged to his yoga instructor now. I’d suspect him of joking about that too, but Dave completely schooled Joaquin after that Andy Kaufman-esque appearance from way back. Joaquin knows better than to pull the rug out from Dave again. I guess Joaquin broke up with his 20-year-old DJ girlfriend, Allie Teilz. Now he’s found his lady for life:
“First we do these breathing exercises and I go, ‘I can do this’?and then she says we are going to get in the first position — the “harnessing of the hog,’” Phoenix recalled of first meeting his now-fiance. “Before I can say, ‘Who is the hog?’ She grabs me — and it’s a compromising and vulnerable position ? and she gets a strap and puts it [around me] and she’s thrusting [against] me and I go, ‘Oh, no! My back pain!’ And she goes, ‘No, that’s your emotional back pain … This is the crazy part of the story. We started dating, and I think she’s the one. I proposed to her and she said yes. If everything works out [Im getting married].”
[From The Late Show with David Letterman]
So who’s the lucky lady? Joaquin has not confirmed the identity of his yoga instructor, but he once dated a yogi named Aria Crescendo. This was way back in 2010 before DJ Allie. You can see Aria’s yoga poses on Facebook. She very closely resembles DJ Allie. Dude definitely has a type. Anyway, there is buzz that Joaquin is back with Aria, but it might not be true. He could have proposed to any random yoga instructor. God only knows.
Here’s Joaquin last week in Beverly Hills. Seriously, those socks.

| Duchess Kate was mistaken for Elsa from 'Frozen' while in Harlem | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
Here are more photos of Duchess Kate?s Harlem outing on Monday. We?ll have the photos from the Nets game later, I promise! We got better photos of Kate in later on yesterday, so I wanted to use them. We?re getting a better look at her Goat coat, and the Daily Mail says that Kate had Goat (or someone) alter the $1000 coat to make it longer. You can see the extra fabric panel in these photos. Kate and her expensive coats? I?m not sure I get it. I mean, if you?re going to drop $1000 for a coat, God bless, but why double the cost to get a suit jacket altered into a light autumn ?mod? coat? Why not just buy a different coat that’s already the length you want? I guess that shows why I?m not a duchess.
Here?s an adorable story about Kate?s interaction with the kids in Harlem: when she walked into the Northside Center, all of the kids thought she was Elsa from Frozen!!! Rose Ann Harris, director of early childhood service, told media outlets: ?They thought she was the Princess from Frozen. When they heard she was coming they thought it was Elsa – we said a Princess and they got a Princess.? Well, technically they got a duchess, but sure. You know who is thrilled with this? DISNEY!!! Also: I once babysat for a kid who thought I was Jasmine from Aladdin. No joke!
After the trip to Harlem, Kate then went solo to a lunch at the British Consul General?s home in NYC. It was a nice luncheon full of British ex-pats or Brits who just live and work in NYC just because. The group included Matthew Rhys (yum), Colin Callender, Simon Collins, and more. They ate poached salmon and a dessert of apple and rhubarb crumble. No liquor for Kate either! Not even a sip of wine, apparently.
As for how Kate is feeling on this trip? by most accounts, she?s perfectly fine. In photos, she looks fine, maybe a little bit tired (but that could be jet lag). However, wherever she goes in NYC, she?s being trailed by an ambulance. No joke.
