The CMA Awards were held last night, hosted by Brad Paisley and Carrie Underwood for literally the tenth time in a row. I’m not going to act like any of us watched it. The Washington Post has a rundown of the best moments and performances along with the winners if you’d like more of an overview of the show. Pink performed, the female and male vocalist of the year awards went to Miranda Lambert and Chris Stapleton respectively, with Stapleton taking album of the year as well. Garth Brooks was the entertainer of the year. Single of the year went to Keith Urban for “Blue Ain?t Your Color” and song of the year (don’t ask me the difference) was awarded to Taylor Swift for the song she wrote for Little Big Town, “Better Man.” (Taylor was in NY rehearsing for SNL/filling out her burn book and did not make it to the ceremony.) We’re just going to talk about what the attendees wore. While I still enjoy looking at red carpet gowns it rings somewhat hollow as we’re hearing so many stories about Hollywood men being horrible predators.
We all need a little superficiality at times though, so let’s look at Carrie Underwood in a Fouad Sarkis Couture gown that Sofia Vergara is so jealous she didn’t wear first. It’s an off the shoulder mermaid dress with got ruffles along the bustline and down the sleeves and it’s very low cut but look there’s a little nude fabric sewn in the deep v-neck to ensure there are no wardrobe malfunctions. I do like the color and at least Carrie didn’t go big with her hair too right? Baby steps.
Also it’s cool that her husband, hockey player Mike Fisher, came too. He doesn’t always show up to her stuff so that was nice.
My girl Michelle Monaghan was one of the only women in pants. She was wearing a black sequin Paco Rabanne jumpsuit and holy crap she looks amazing. The whole side of that thing is open though, go here to see. It also has stirrups! If I had her figure I would wear the hell out of that.
In contrast Kelsea Ballerini chose this awful white cutout Michael Kors Collection dress with gold floral accents. I’m looking at these pictures and grimacing this is so bad.
Pink! I don’t know who did this voluminous tulle gown but it reminds me of Kesha’s Monsoori gown from earlier this year or the Christian Siriano gown that Kasey Musgraves wore to the CMAs last year. Unlike those other ladies, I think Pink is pulling this off with attitude.
Kelly Pickler was in metallic and green feathered Pamella Roland. This is a little too fussy for my taste but she looks like she’s having fun.
This is what thirst looks like. Lea Michele in Zuhair Murad. Maybe if she paired this mini dress with tights like it was styled on the runway it would be slightly better.
Miranda Lambert was in a baby blue Tony Ward gown with a silver firework pattern. This gown is gorgeous and I love the simple metallic belt. It would be cute if it was opaque all over though and not strategically see through.
Faith Hill was in Armani Prive and I feel like she needs to put her hair down because this gown is making her look very elongated, I’ll say that. Over at redcarpet fashion awards they said the same thing, but I swear I thought of it independently. She and Tim McGraw are looking kind of preserved, but maybe that’s just all the makeup. I like that he went with a velvet jacket. Some dudes can pull off velvet jackets.
I’m including Karlie Kloss at the end because she just ran the NYC Marathon! Go Karlie! That slinky red Elie Saab is perfection.

Mariah Carey: delusional butterfly and all-around terrible boss, or something a lot worse? I don?t know. Apparently, Mariah Carey is facing a potential lawsuit from a former security chief who claims that Mariah sexually harassed him and repeatedly referred to him as a Klansman and a Nazi. I didn?t really think there was much to discuss about this story because it?s pretty clear that the guy is angling for a tidy settlement, and it’s clear that Mariah and her team are already in negotiations with the guy. Even TMZ says that, which makes their story more of a public relations hit-job on Mariah than anything else.
Mariah Carey’s former security company has threatened to sue her … and the guy who owns the company says she constantly humiliated him by referring to him as a Nazi, a skinhead, a KKK member and a white supremacist.
Michael Anello’s lawyer has prepared a draft of a lawsuit, claiming his company worked for Mariah from June 2015 to May 2017 and got stiffed on the balance to the tune of $221,329.51. Anello claims he was promised another 2 years which would add $511,000 to the tab. Anello says Mariah humiliated him and his colleague by referring to them as members of the hate groups. Anello also claims Mariah “wanted to be surrounded with black guys, not white people.”
The draft lawsuit also makes allegations of sexual harassment, claiming she committed “sexual acts with the intent that they be viewed by Anello.” Anello claims during a trip to Cabo San Lucas, Mariah asked him to come to her room to move some luggage and when he got there, she was wearing a see-through negligee that was open. He says he tried leaving but she insisted he move the luggage. He says he left the room and there was no physical contact.
Mariah’s people tell us they were in touch with Anello’s lawyer Monday and were agreeable to pay certain invoices, but we’re told Anello is not satisfied with the amount. Mariah’s people have no information on the sexual harassment claim. The lawyer for Anello says the lawsuit is now on hold, presumably because they are in settlement negotiations.

Mariah “wanted to be surrounded with black guys, not white people.” I don?t get why this is part of his complaint???? What business is it of Mariah?s security detail? If she wants to by surrounded by black men, let her be surrounded by black men. I also think probably everyone who has ever worked for or with Mariah has probably seen her in various stages of undress, because the Elusive Chanteuse wanders around in negligees constantly. I?m not saying we should completely discount the guy?s discomfort with it – if he felt uncomfortable and he felt harassed, so be it. Anyway, this will end quickly – Mariah will pay and the guy will stop leaking to TMZ. So there you go, all of the MRAs who want to be able to claim that ?WOMEN HARASS TOO!? Here?s your story.

American Idol alum and actress (Smash, #neverforget) Katharine McPhee and music producer David Foster have been romantically linked since at least September and they’re still going strong. They were spotted together in West Hollywood on Monday night and caught a LA Lakers basketball game on Sunday. A game attendee who saw the couple told E! News that ?They seemed to be having fun. They were chatting with the people in the seats next to them.” The source added that he or she ?Didn?t see them kiss or hold hands but [they] certainly seemed like they were into each other and the game.?
Katharine is 33. David is 68. I?m (as always) not saying anything about the age difference, as I believe it?s really just a number. It?s no secret that Katharine likes older men – her ex-husband, Nick Coker, is 52, so it?s not completely absurd for her to be dating David. The two share a love of music, so I can totally see them enjoying each other?s company. An insider recently told US Magazine that the two were ?casually dating,? noting, ?They are just having fun right now, but they have such a great chemistry and really connect organically on so many levels. There is potential for things to escalate in the future. They were working together and things blossomed as they worked closer with one another.?
Katharine is on the cover of the December issue of Health magazine. She talks body confidence, admitting that she?s ?really loving? her abs right now, confesses that she?d love to work out with Khlo Kardashian and admits to indulging in the occasional slice of pizza or glass of red wine. When it comes to her love life, Katharine, who insists ?I?m pretty single,? had this to say about dating and her relationship with David:

Someone?s who?s spontaneous and adventurous, who?s ready to just go do something?or let you go do it at the drop of a hat. I?m so independent now; I wasn?t really that independent when I was in my 20s, so I need to be with someone who has their own life.
On the rumors she?s dating David, helped along by his daughter Erin who called the couple ?my parents? on an Instagram post in September:
So we were sitting there at the table, and she said, ?Do you wanna, like, do a thing?? And I was like, ?OK.? So I mean, we were in on it. She?s so funny ? I mean, you saw what she wrote about “my parents.” Truly, you think that?s how she?d announce it? On Instagram?
On her relationship with David, in a nutshell:
We?re very close friends, and we?ve been friends for a long time. I?m really, really fond of him, and I think he?s an incredible person. I?ve known him since I was 21 years old, you know? He produced my first single. So he?s been really good to me. People can say whatever they want.

For his part, David, who has been married four times (wife number three was Linda Thompson, whom you may know better as the mother of Brody and Brandon Jenner), isn?t afraid to give marriage another go. The 68-year-old told PEOPLE that ?It?s quite obvious by my track record that I love being married, so I wouldn?t say no to being married again. I like the concept, I?m just not that good at it.? However, there have been accusations that this relationship is fabricated to help get David a follow-up to his previous reality outing, The Princes of Malibu (which starred his stepsons Brody and Brandon). The accusations, made by a source to RadarOnline also point to Katharine reviving her singing career with the lead role in a proposed Betty Boop musical and a new pop album, which David is allegedly helming. I don?t think that latter accusation has any legs, as the Betty Boop musical has been floating around, unproduced, for years.
Whatever the reasons for their union, it appears they?re enjoying each other?s company, so let?s just leave it at that for the moment.

Then Mariah met James Packer and they started their whirlwind romance, and Mariah ?went away? for a little bit and she seemed to come back looking a lot slimmer. I remember some people saying that Mariah had gotten some liposuction, and a little nip and tuck here and there for Packer. Since Mariah and James Packer split, Mariah gained some weight back. I wasn?t aware of any big stories about her weight gain – if anything, I feel like Mariah?s fluctuating weight makes her more relatable, and people are more likely to criticize her for being a crazy elusive chanteuse butterfly than criticizing her for her weight. But Mariah still felt uncomfortable and she apparently got ?gastric sleeve surgery? recently.
Mariah Carey has undergone weight-loss surgery after the superstar became self-conscious about her curves because of cruel online commenters, sources claim. Page Six has exclusively learned that the diva underwent gastric sleeve surgery last month, performed by a top surgeon in Beverly Hills, Calif., after her weight reportedly skyrocketed.
The procedure involves removing part of the stomach so that the patient feels fuller more quickly. It can be done via a small incision, meaning recovery time is fast and scarring is minimal.
A source told us of Carey, ?Mariah has always been proud of her curves, but this summer, as her Caesars Palace residency came to a close, and then she went on tour with Lionel Richie, she noticed it became harder to dance, and she was getting a lot more criticism online from body shamers.? The source added that the superstar had been indulging in cocktails and dinners with her boyfriend Bryan Tanaka, and continued, ?Mariah underwent the procedure about a month ago, and she is already seeing some good results, and she feels a lot better.?
Her rep Nicole Perna declined multiple requests for comment. Carey previously lost 70 pounds after the birth of her twins in 2011. She explained she did it with a strict diet and exercise plan, but added, ?I never weighed myself. People will think I?m a liar but it?s true .?.?. I?m a big-boned girl, I?m tall, and so I always weigh more.?
On Saturday, we revealed that Carey had ended her relationship with manager Stella Bulochnikov. They confirmed in a joint statement, ?After working together for almost three years, Mariah Carey and Stella Bulochnikov have determined that it is in their mutual best interest to part ways on day-to-day management,? adding that they will remain partners on a number of upcoming music and film projects. Former backup dancer Tanaka has taken over as the star?s day-to-day manager.

If it makes her feel better, so be it. It might be a harder road for someone like Mariah to actually hire a dietician, full-time chef and full-time trainer and really spend the time, money and effort to lose weight the old-fashioned way. To me, the idea of getting surgery and taking out part of my stomach just to lose weight seems? ridiculous and awful, but that?s just me. I hate the idea of anyone cutting into me. I do wonder why Mimi didn?t just go for lipo (again)?
As for Mariah breaking up with her manager? I thought it was good news, at first, because Stella Bulochnikov did not represent her client very well (just my opinion). But for Mariah to make her backup dancer boyfriend her new manager? YIKES. That is an even bigger disaster.

Don?t get me wrong, I actually have some begrudging respect for the fact that Taylor Swift has changed some of her patterns. Months ago, I said (and many others said) that Taylor would promote Reputation by doing dishy tell-all interviews and stepping out for photo-ops with Joe Alwyn. That hasn?t happened, so I like the fact that Taylor is keeping us guessing. That being said, some of what we all predicted has come true. In many ways, Taylor will never change and whoever she?s with will always need to be promoted as El Uno, The One. Conveniently, those promotions come just days before Reputation drops!
Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn?s low-key romance continues to heat up.
?It?s a great relationship that everyone hopes will last. Joe could definitely be the one,? a Swift insider says of the singer and her actor beau.
?Their relationship is very different from Taylor?s past ones,? adds the insider. ?They much prefer having dinner parties at home with friends than going out. Just like Taylor, Joe is a homebody. He loves being an actor but doesn?t like the celebrity part of it. It?s pretty special to find someone you?re on the same page with.?
Neither Swift nor Alwyn have spoken publicly about their romance. But at least three songs the Grammy winner?s new album Reputation ? ?Gorgeous,? ?Call It What You Want,? and ??Ready For It?? ? details their private life together. During the bridge of the heartfelt ?Call It What You Want,?
