| Lori Loughlin 'feels like she's got a valid defense' & that 'she won't be found guilty' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Lori Loughlin has been headed for trial ever since she rejected the prosecutors? initial plea deal and found herself facing even more indictments, all in connection with Operation Varsity Blues, and her $500,000 scheme to get her dumb kids into USC. Considering the charges against her and the fact that the feds weren?t playing around with their multi-month investigation, I tend to believe that the federal prosecutors have a good case against Lori and her husband Mossimo. Is it all a sure thing? Of course not. There?s always a possibility that the evidence really isn?t that strong, or that the prosecution overcharged Lori and Mossimo. But here?s what really worries me: even if the feds have a strong case, Lori might still be able to use her ?I?m just a clueless faith-based rich white mom who would do anything for my children!? defense and it could work. Lori apparently thinks it will work.
Attorneys for Lori Loughlin and husband Mossimo Giannulli believe they have a good chance of being acquitted if they face trial after being charged in the college admissions scandal, a source close to the actress tells PEOPLE.
?The more that [the attorneys] look at the alleged evidence against them, the better they feel about the case,? says the source. ?Everyone is feeling more and more confident that this could end well for them.?
The insider, who speaks with the family regularly, tells PEOPLE that Loughlin wants to put the entire case behind her. ?A trial drags things out,? says the source, ?and she would like to move forward, which she can?t do until it goes to trial. But still, she feels like she?s got a valid defense, and that when all the evidence comes out, that she won?t be found guilty.?
Going to trial could also salvage her reputation, says the source. ?Lori feels like so much damage has been done publicly that the only way for her to counter it is to fight this case in court,? the source previously told PEOPLE. ?She feels like once all the evidence is presented, that people will understand how things happened.?
[From People]
The privilege of truly believing in and counting on your privilege to get you out of federal crimes? it?s like a snake eating itself. Privilege atop of privilege, and Lori really deeply understands that she can play Mrs. Hallmark-Faith-Based-White-Mom and there will be a few people on the jury who find her sympathetic. I hope the prosecution is prepared for that. I hope they make it about the smart, accomplished kids who could have gone to USC in her daughters? place.

| Anne Hathaway in Elie Saab at 'The Hustle' LA premiere: stunning & perfect' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Can I just say? I don?t even want to look at the reviews for The Hustle because I just want to believe that the movie is really good and really funny? The promo trailers continue to crack me up. It?s basically the lady-version of Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, with Anne Hathaway and Rebel Wilson playing the con artists trying to hook rich men. Last night was the Hollywood premiere for the film and almost everyone on the carpet was a lady.
Anne Hathaway looked AMAZING in an Elie Saab jumpsuit Anne seems to really be feeling herself these days and you can tell. Her hair is a great length, her skin looks incredible and I love that she wore pants to this premiere. Stunning. Love her black manicure too.
Rebel Wilson decided on a black look too I dont have an ID on this, but it looks familiar, and like something shes worn before.
Meghan Trainor went for a black jumpsuit too, only this one is kind of unflattering? It?s not the worst, I just think she could have chosen a better look in general. Avril Lavigne didn?t get the ?wear all black? note she paired her black vinyl pants and skull t-shirt with a Pink blazer.

| Charlize Theron: 'I?m definitely obsessive. Obsessing is good for me' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Charlize Theron covers the June issue of Marie Claire to promote Long Shot, her comedy with Seth Rogen. Charlize looks amazing in this editorial, and if you?ve seen her in Tully, you?ll understand how impressive it is that she was able to drop the weight she gained for that film. I like that she did a magazine editorial with her dark hair too! Anyway, you can read the Marie Claire cover story here. Charlize chats about being an obsessive person and how she?s in therapy. Some highlights:
On her new film Long Shot: ?I never thought I would be in a rom-com. I don?t think I would know how to do justice to a straight-forward rom-com.?
On why obsession is good for her: ?I?m definitely obsessive. Obsessing is good for me. I?m very focused on the stuff that I really care about, but I do struggle with a bit of OCD, so I have to organize things that I can see: closets, drawers. That has to do with when I feel that things I can?t see are out of control.?
On life in her 20s and being an immigrant: ?My 20s were like ?You can die, so get it done.? I always felt like there was a clock ticking, like everything was life and death, and I?m not a citizen, so if I don?t make it ?
On what she discovered about herself in therapy: ?I didn?t discover therapy until my mid-30s. My reasons for going had a lot to do with South Africa and uncertainty and living with an alcoholic every day of my life. What I discovered was that my life was an all-encompassing thing. It showed me that I can see the big picture and understand the reason to get to a place where I could create a life for my own kids.?
On motherhood: ?I love being a mom. I get up with them at 5:30am every day. I make them breakfast. I pack their lunches. On the weekends, we hang out with family and friends. I?ll cook lasagna for them ? or steak. We do a lot of grilling. We go to Medieval Times.?
On being at peace with her life: ?My 20s were really about getting a lot of stuff out of my system ? wanting to experience the world, do drugs, travel to Turkey for four months with a backpack? and I did all of that, so by the time I had kids, I was really ready. ?You don?t want to be 80 and on your deathbed and wonder what might have happened. If I die tomorrow, I?m at peace with who I am in my life.?
[From Marie Claire]
I?m sure there will be some people who are like ?it?s sad that she never found a life partner,? but what I like about Charlize in recent years is that she keeps showing women that there are different ways to do it and be happy and fulfilled. I think she loves the fact that she?s a single mother with two young children, and she loves that she can have her mom living with her and helping her. That?s her family unit, and it?s not about finding a man. I believe her about how low-key her life is with her kids too it?s not a performative thing of ?see how normal I am with my kids, look at me!? She?s really doing school runs and packing lunches and going to Medieval Times.

| David Beckham's driver's license suspended for 6 months because he used his cellphone | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I feel very next-level hipster because I?m not attached to my cellphone at all. I just don?t see a need for it personally I still consider my cell to be ?for emergencies? and for occasional use for my job. And I absolutely never use my cell while driving. I cannot stand it when I see other drivers just full on driving with one hand on their phone, either texting or talking. It?s so dangerous and so fking unnecessary, my God. I?m happy that so many states and cities are passing laws and cracking down on drivers using cellphones. And I?m glad that they got such a high-profile celebrity in the dragnet:
David Beckham has been disqualified from driving for six months for using his mobile phone while at the wheel. The ex-footballer, 43, was spotted by a member of the public using his phone while driving in Great Portland Street, on 21 November last year. He pleaded guilty.
He was also given six points on his licence. Beckham was originally to be dealt with using the new single justice procedure, an administrative process not open to the press or public.
[From Sky News]
Sky News goes on from there, talking about the legal issues involved in Beckham?s case, but the general information is that Beckham was using his cellphone while driving and now he?s got a six-months suspended license for it. But that?s just in Britain he spends much of his time in Miami these days, where I imagine he has an American driver?s license, don?t you? So he?s probably still driving here in the States.

| Lily Collins in Ronald Van Der Kemp at the LA 'Tolkien' premiere: cute or blah' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The big LA premiere of Tolkien was held last night at the Regency Westwood Village Theatre. We?ve discussed this movie before Nicholas Hoult plays a young JRR Tolkien who falls in love with the woman who becomes his wife (played by Lily Collins) and makes lots of friends at Oxford before going off to fight in World War I. His university experiences combined with his WWI service strongly influence his writing of the Lord of the Rings books. Unfortunately, the Tolkien estate wants no part of this movie and they want everyone to know that they did not approve the rights. Still, the movie promotion continues. George RR Martin even came out for this premiere and posed happily with Hoult and Collins!
Fashion-wise, I guess Hoult and Collins decided to coordinate with each other in pastels for some reason. Hoult wore a rather spectacular pale Pink suit, and Lily wore a Ronald Van Der Kemp Spring 2019 Couture halter gown. Did you know Lily is 30 years old? She still looks like a teenager to me, and the makeup and styling choices are definitely? ah, youthful? She looks like a kid who played around in her mom?s makeup and thought her messy high bun was super-fancy. The dress itself is kind of terrible too I wish the whole thing would have been the plaid fabric, or that they had figured out a better top.
Here?s a cute Wired video with Hoult & Collins:

| Hilary Duff stopped nursing after being 'sad, frustrated and feeling like a failure' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Hilary Duff gave birth to her daughter, Banks, six months ago. Hilary stars on the show Younger and is currently filming the next season. Tuesday, Hilary announced on Instagram that due to her heavy workload, she?s done breastfeeding Banks. Her decision stemmed mostly from her depleted milk supply but also trying to fit pumping into her work schedule. It exhausted me to just read how efforts to continue breastfeeding, I can?t imagine the toll it?s taken on Hilary. Unfortunately, the toll was not just physical, it was also emotional and had Hilary feeling like a failure.

| George Clooney says Amal won't 'allow' him to ride motorcycles anymore, ugh | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Catch-22 comes out on Hulu on May 17th, and George Clooney stars (in a supporting role) in the miniseries and he executive-produced it and directed a few episodes. They shot the series in Sardinia, which was probably a tax thing, plus George loves to be close to his home in Como, Italy. During filming of Catch-22 last summer, George was driving away from the set on a motorscooter when he crashed into a car. The video from the accident was horrific George went flying through the air and he was immediately checked into a hospital. The official line was that George had no major injuries, but weeks after the crash, it appeared that he was still unable to walk unaided. He has a history of significant back problems too, and I?ve believed for some time now that he has chronic pain in his back and probably his legs too. Apparently, after the crash, Amal banned him from all motorcycle/scooters from now on:
George Clooney is opening up about his scary motorcycle accident while in Italy last summer that sent him to the hospital. The Oscar winner, 57, was traveling on his scooter when a car cut into his lane and crashed into him, flinging him into the air. Clooney was rushed to the hospital and later released without serious injury.
The father of two was in Italy filming his upcoming Hulu show Catch-22 when the incident happened. He revealed at panel for the show in New York City on Wednesday that his wife Amal Clooney banned him from riding two-wheel vehicles again, and fellow producer Grant Heslov?s wife followed suit.
?I?m not allowed to ride motorcycles,? Clooney said at the panel. ?I got into a really bad accident. I hit a guy at 70 miles an hour on my bike. Got launched. And so that?s, I?m off of bikes. Grant?s off. We screwed up and our wives were like, ?You can never get on a bike again.??
[From People]
I know he?s saying ?I?m not allowed!? in a playful way to tell a story, but Jesus, that bugs. George is close to 60 years old and he should WANT to take care of himself to the point where he KNOWS deep down in his soul that he shouldn?t do the motorcycle thing anymore. Instead, he makes it sound like Amal is a wet blanket who orders him around. Amal is not his fking mother. She?s his wife and partner and she shouldn?t have to tell him or order him to do something smart which will save his life.
