| Kirsten Dunst in Chanel at the Cannes amfAR gala: matronly or fantastic? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

This is not a case of ?saving the best for last? with the Cannes amfAR coverage. This is the last post of fashion photos from the event, and all of the ladies in this post are wearing Chanel. And every single look is WRONG. Totally and completely wrong. Let?s start with Kirsten Dunst in this Chanel suit. Is it a nice suit? Sure. It would have been great if she was making a court appearance or going to a charity luncheon in Beverly Hills. But this is the amfAR gala! And what?s worse is that for the entire Cannes Film Festival, Kiki has been killing it. She?s been knocking it out of the park on carpet after carpet. This is just wrong.
Juliette Binoche?s Chanel wasn?t completely terrible. It actually looks nice in this photo, although it had some bad angles in other photos.
Vanessa Paradis?s Chanel makes me wonder WTF is going on with Karl Lagerfeld these days. Why is doing these gigantic ?feathered? sleeves? Why isn?t this lined throughout the bodice? Ugh.
Soo Joo Park in Chanel. This is just a negligee! And the mullet is doing her no favors.

Chloe Sevigny didn?t even walk the red carpet, which might mean that she kind of hated her frothy milkmaid dress? Because I hate it.

| Katy Perry in Marchesa at the Cannes amfAR gala: ridiculous or great? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Last night?s Cannes amfAR gala definitely felt sort of light on the glamour? So I?m actually glad that Katy Perry came out and tried to take it over with this costume-y Marchesa gown. Anyway else, to any other event, I would have absolutely loathed this. But at the moment, I kind of like it. It?s big, it?s silly, it?s ridiculous, it?s totally Cannes. My one problem is that her hair is way too severe. She didn?t need to do a slicked-down center part.
Karlie Kloss also wore Marchesa and I honestly think this looks great on her. I only wish it was a tad longer. And again with the center part! Ugh.
Chanel Iman in Marchesa. This is my least favorite of the Marchesa dresses. She was pretty exposed from the back too, but she liked it ? she kept giving photographers her back angles.

Doutzen Kroes in Tom Ford. I love Doutzen and I love Tom Ford, but I?m not feeling this look. The dress is too ?80s, the hair is too whatever, and she looks more like she?s about to attend a yacht party than the amfAR gala.
Eva Herzigova was one of the few (perhaps only) women in Dior. I like the cape and I like the minidress. Neither is the best thing ever, but she looks good.
Sonam Kapoor in Ralph & Russo. If you had told me this was Marchesa, I would have believed you. It has that costume-y flair. I know a lot of you have been enjoying Sonam?s Cannes style but I think she?s looked overdone.

| Heidi Klum in yellow Versace at the Cannes amFAR gala: surprisingly pretty? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Heidi Klum is usually the worst dressed on any given red carpet, often in something so ridiculous it had to be deliberately bad. I’m thinking of the yellow sheer half feather applique, half frayed ruffled mess of a Versace she wore to the Emmys last year. That’s the first dress which comes to mind, but there are many more examples. Surprisingly Versace gave her a more staid gown for this year’s amFAR gala. It’s got a deep v-neck which shows off her bolt-ons and a very high leg slit, but for Heidi this is a win. The necklace falling between her boobs like a floral exclamation point doesn’t even distract from this pretty bright yellow gown. I really like the faux wrap at the waist and the gathered pleats around the bustline.
Mischa Barton is also typically poorly dressed but she’s been killing it at Cannes this year. She may have messed up DWTS but now she’s staging a fashion comeback. She’s in a purple floral sequin Zuhair Murad. Her styling is strange with that Elvis hair emphasizing her forehead, raccoon eyes and cheek contour in desperate need of blending. However that dress is classic and lovely and if you consider her fashion in Cannes as a whole this is a nice addition.
Petra Nemcova is a washed out strawberry in this Georges Chakra salmon and deep Pink gown. There’s something delicious and princessy about this flowy one shoulder number but her styling kind of ruins it. This calls for understated makeup, not a matte burgundy lip. I do like the abstract color wash on the gown but I would like it more in a different color. Plus her posing suggest she hit the minibar while she was getting ready. She’s trying to show us her lips match her shoes.
Natasha Poly cut a striking figure in a sheer and sequin Roberto Cavalli gown. It’s got bell sleeves, there’s a v pointing to her crotch, there are flowers, snakes and little fishnet panels built in and I think it’s fabulous. Holy crap this dress is amazing. I know some people are going to dismiss this as fug but check out how she’s owning this look.

Carine Roitfeld is the former editor of Vogue Paris and she’s in Alexandre Vauthier. Imagine the top half of this dress with just a plain black floor length skirt. It would be ok, right? As it is, this is too complicated and her makeup is too monotone and brown. It’s like she’s trying to go goth and isn’t quite there yet.

| Milla Jovovich in Elie Saab at the Cannes amFAR gala: tinfoil fug or fab? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Apologies to the fug girls for stealing their line but I am torn on this silver Elie Saab which Milla Jovovich wore to the amFAR gala last night. My first impression is to find it incredible, bold and statement-y. There’s a Daisy Buchanon vibe to this dress, like it’s a throwback to a flapper gown only with the shiniest sequins modern technology can offer. (I have no idea if this is true.) On closer look it resembles a nightgown though. Maybe I would like it more without the two wide stripes with circles running through them at the bottom, those seem like overkill. Her earrings are perfect though and I love how they mimic the pattern in the gown.
Here’s Toni Garrn, also in Elie Saab, in a short silver and white long sleeve number. The dress is so flattering and cute but there’s something off about the pattern, like she’s molting. The silver bits look like wadded up tinfoil. Her styling is understated and lovely.
Paris Hilton wore a silver, white and cream Yousef Al-Jasmi full length gown which featured large mirrored sequins, sequin netting on the arms and lines of rhinestones crisscrossing the dress. This is too busy and there’s too much bling. It’s a five year-old’s idea of a pretty dress. Perfect for Paris.
Look at her silver and gold stripper heels.
Alessandra Ambrosio was in this black sequin Redemption gown which left little to the imagination. In theory it’s a decent gown, it’s slinky and I like the large stripes of black sequins with little dotted sequins next to them. However there’s not enough fabric on top and there’s this magic happening where you think you can see through to her boobs but you can’t quite. At least she’s wearing large underwear. The side slit is overkill. Why are these back in such a big way?
Adriana Lima was on the opposite end of the coverage spectrum in a full length Alexander Terekhov black gown. I’m not the best at identifying fabrics but this looks like silk blend to me. I googled “Alexander Terekhov silk gown” to see and I found a world of fug fashions by this designer. Something nice: the open v-back adds some detail, she’s got on beautiful diamond earrings and her styling is well done.

| Uma Thurman in pink Schiaparelli at the Cannes amfAR gala: meh or amazing? | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Honestly, this year?s Cannes Film Festival has been lacking in some serious glamour and some serious star wattage. Yes, Julia Roberts came out and yes, Kristen Stewart was the It Girl of the festival. But high-wattage moments were few and far between. So I had high hopes for this year?s Cannes amfAR gala, but the turnout was severely muted. Uma Thurman was quite literally one of the few ?bright spots? at amfAR. Uma chose this hot Pink Schiaparelli Couture gown which? looks amazing. It?s a great dress and she looks wonderful.
Melissa George also wore Schiaparelli Couture. This reminds me of? like, Prada circa 2003? The layered fabric also adds weight to her midsection in a really unflattering way.

Irina Shayk in Miu Miu. This is fine. It fits, it?s flirty, it?s pretty and it?s uncontroversial. I?m sure lots of women would love to own this dress. The only thing I have to ask is? are those bejeweled candy canes on the bodice?!
Helen Mirren wore this rather magical Temperley London gown. It?s such a joy to see her on the red carpet, and I always love to see what she?s chosen. This one is a little bit matronly, but the sheer parts help make it look somewhat hip.
Here?s doucheface Adrien Brody and his girlfriend Lara Lieto. Lara wore a surprisingly pretty Zuhair Murad gown in mint green. She still looks so, so young though.
