P. Diddy is showing some sensitivity for the rest of us by toning down his bling during the recession. He’s demonstrating a good deal of common sense and respect for his fans and their financial situations, which probably aren?t as luxurious as his own.
Rapper P Diddy is trying to hold back on his over-the-top fashions and dress less flashy - out of respect for his fans.
The Bad Boy For Life star - who recently grounded his private jet due to the increasing cost of gas - says he is going to scale back on his bling until the credit crunch is over.
He says, “Out of respect, I’ve been trying to dress less flashy. It’s one thing to be stylish, it’s another to be over the top. You gotta know when to hold back and not to rub it in.”

That?s also a smart business move. Diddy doesn?t want to risk alienating people. Part of his branding is having a flashy lifestyle that his fans can emulate by buying his clothes, his music, and the items he promotes. Right now that?s really not possible for a lot of people, and he could lose fans if he were walking around sporting diamonds and drinking Ciroc all the time.
Jim Carrey?s response to the credit crisis is less sensitive towards the common man, but certainly honest.
Jim Carrey insists he hasn’t been affected by the credit crunch - because he has plenty of money.
The actor - who stars in new movie Yes Man - says the current economic climate hasn’t affected him at all - as he has so much money he doesn’t know what to do with it all.
He says, “I’m not in a recession.
“I’m doing incredibly well. I don’t know - I just want to be honest, because I am really kicking ass. It’s so wonderful to have money.”

Madonna has often been labeled as cheap by some of her employees. In September it was reported that many of them were upset with their accommodations on her tour. In one instance they were booked at a $92.50 a night hotel while Madge stayed in a $20,000 a night castle on the Cote d?Azur. Obviously she?s the boss and has the right to spend money on herself however she wishes. But apparently Madonna is trying to make it up to her employees ? she just blew $1 million on the fanciest hotel in South America while she was performing in Argentina ? booking it for both herself AND the entire concert crew.
Madonna blew a reported $1 million at a hotel in Argentina last week - so she and her crew could live in luxury during the South American leg of her Sticky & Sweet tour.
The singer spent the incredible sum at the exclusive Four Seasons resort in Buenos Aires, while she performed a string of gigs in the city.
Madonna is said to have splashed out $9,000 a night to stay in the hotel’s luxury suite - a private mansion in the grounds - while her 200 backing dancers, singers, make-up artists, choreographers, managers and security took up another 110 rooms, costing a minimum of $600 each.
A source tells Irish newspaper the Sunday World, “When they check out on Tuesday, with room service and extras the bill will top $1 million. This is the finest hotel in South America, offering every luxury you could possibly imagine, and it doesn’t come cheap.
We’ve had some pop stars and presidents before, but nothing quite like this.”

At least she?s loosening the purse strings a little. I?m pretty surprised Madonna was willing to compromise. She doesn?t strike me as the sort that?ll give in. Perhaps she?s a good enough businesswoman to understand that employee morale is important and can ultimately make or break the success of her concert tour. And she can certainly afford it ? Media Outrage reports that Madge is going to gross $282 million for this tour ? breaking her previous record of $193.7 million. Hopefully this signals the end of the $92.50 motel.

In “The Wrestler,” actress Marisa Tomei plays the stripper girlfriend of an aging wrestler played by Mickey Rourke. Marisa, 44, says she prepared for the raunchy role by taking pole dancing lessons and watching the skanky hos on the VH1 reality show, “Rock of Love.”
Oscar winner Marisa Tomei studied rocker BRET MICHAELS’ raunchy reality show ROCK OF LOVE as part of her stripper research for new movie THE WRESTLER.
The actress tried pole dancing too - just to make sure she’d look authentic in her film debut as an exotic dancer.
She explains, “I had a friend who is a yoga teacher and she does a lot of pole dancing so I asked her to teach me. I went to a lot of clubs and watched to see the different styles of dancing.
“I would practice in a dance room with a bar and a mirror, like a ballet studio. I watched Rock of Love, that reality show with Bret Michaels, where he’s trying to get a wife and they’re all strippers. That was my closest association to the actual world of it.”
And her brief flirtation with the world of the stripper has brought Tomei a new love: “I like going to strip clubs now.”

Well, it’s nice to know that piece of garbage show isn’t totally useless. I’ve always liked Marisa - she’s a talented actress. She went through a dry spell for a while there, so it’s nice to see her working again. Early buzz is that Mickey Rourke’s performance is a powerhouse in this movie. He plays a professional wrestler - based on Hulk Hogan and Randy “Macho Man ” Savage who is trying to make a comeback - sort of like Rocky. If it sounds like a stinker, keep in mind that the director is Darren Aronofsky, the director behind “Requiem for a Dream,” “Pi” and “The Fountain.” So, if nothing else, it will be a great looking stinker about pro wrestling and stripping.

Carrie Fisher had a hysterical interview on ?The Today Show? this morning while promoting her fifth book, ?Wishful Drinking.? She freely discusses being bipolar, having addiction issues, and being married to a gay man. My favorite anecdote was her telling the story of her mother, actress Debbie Reynolds, having Cary Grant call her to tell her not to do drugs after finding out Fisher had tried LSD.
Lauer asked her to talk about when she started experimenting with drugs, and Fisher laughed at the image that conjured. ? ?Experiment with drugs? is hilarious,? she said. ?I ran out of the lab with beakers.?
When she started doing LSD, Debbie Reynolds called a friend who had tried LSD under a doctor?s supervision. The man was Hollywood icon Cary Grant, who dutifully called Fisher.
?What did he say?? Lauer asked.
?Don?t eat acid,? Fisher said drily.
When her father, Eddie Fisher later learned about his daughter?s drug use, he, too, called Grant, who called her a second time with the same advice.

Fisher also raved about electroconvulsive therapy, and dryly suggested that everyone try it. Though she admits she lost the memory of four months of her life, she said it was worth it because at her age, nothing?s going to happen that?s that interesting anyway.
Fisher was equally funny talking about her manic depression, or bipolar disorder. When word of her condition got out, her mother objected, calling Fisher to tell her, ?You?re not mentally ill, you?re manic depressive.?
Fisher said her disorder resisted all drugs and therapy, and she finally found relief through electroconvulsive therapy, commonly known as electroshock, which applies an electric current to the brain. Decades ago the therapy carried a lot of negative implications, but Fisher said psychiatrists have dialed the voltage down and patients don?t really go into convulsions. ?I loved it because it worked,? she said.
However, getting treatments three days a week for several weeks, she added, leaves the patient with gaps in memory. As the brain recalibrates, everything comes back except for about four months, she explained.
When Lauer expressed amazement at her assertion that losing four months wasn?t a big deal, Fisher was blase. ?What?s going to happen in four months at my age that?s not going to happen in another four months??

In the latest Rolling Stone via Us, Brad took his pedophile mustache and talked about how he and Angelina don’t fight anymore. Working on The Curious Case of Benjamin Button made him contemplate his own death and how arguing is fruitless. Brad explained:
“What occurred to me on this film, and also with the passing of her mother [actress Marcheline Bertrand in 2007], is that there’s going to come a time when I’m not going to get to be with this person anymore. I’m not going to get to be with my children anymore. Or friends, people I love and respect. And so, if we have a flare-up, it evaporates now.”

Ouch. Brad and Angelina found another opportunity to burn Jennifer Aniston again. Aniston probably read that and is just sitting there silent and fuming. Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, and their unstoppable baby making skills are at it again, according to Star. The tabloid claims that the pair are trying for more babies, just five months after their twins were born. What?s the rush? Supposedly Angelina has been told that if she gets pregnant within two years of the last pair of twins, she?s more likely to conceive another pair.

In the Dec. 22 issue of Star ? on newsstands now ? we report that nearly five months after the arrival of babies Vivienne and Knox, the couple are adding another pair of twins to their brood, upping the total to a whopping eight.
Angelina is taking prenatal vitamins, visiting her ob-gyn, undergoing secret fertility treatments and gearing up for another set of twins.
“Angie’s doctors told her that she has a strong chance of conceiving twins if she does it within two years after having her first pair,” a friend tells Star. “She’s been seeing a fertility doctor regularly. She and Brad are monitoring when she’s fertile. And they’re trying really hard in the bedroom!”
We bet! Another of Angie’s conception secrets? Yams! “A friend told her that yams and orange juice will increase her chances [of getting pregnant with twins],” says the pal.

I have never understood the desire for twins. Babies are wonderful but stressful, at least for those not moneyed like Brad and Angie. Two at a time just doubles the nighttime feedings, the crying, the diapers? everything. Of course if you?ve got an employee whose sole function is to change poopie diapers, might as well crank out the kids in multiples.
Frankly I thought Brad and Angelina would adopt again at least once before having another biological child or two. I can?t help but wonder what their maximum number of kids is ? if they even have one. Something tells me it?s in the high teens. They?ve certainly got the resources to support a small nation of kids. I think it?s safe to assume that we will be on permanent ?pregnancy watch? for Angelina at least until she hits menopause. Maybe longer ? as Star noted, they are ?unstoppable.?

“Sometimes I think, like, let’s just run away from Hollywood and adopt a son, and do my own thing,” she said. “But then I realize, you know what? I want to make at least another billion dollars before I adopt children so I can just focus on them. Like, just move to an island and give them everything.”
Meanwhile, the bisexual babe admitted she doesn’t have the best track record when it comes to taking care of a living thing.
“I had a dog, but I had to give him to [my] best friend, because he did not like to travel at all,” she told Us. “And I don’t like little Chihuahuas or poodles or those little dogs those girls carry around. It definitely takes no less than one billion dollars to properly raise a child. I knew a kid who was raised on half a billion and I cannot tell you how messed up he is. Of course billion or not, if you?re raised by anyone with an I.Q. of less than a peanut, you?re going to be screwed no matter what. I hate to break it to Tila, but if you can?t take care of a dog, you probably can?t take care of a kid. And unless she?s planning on moving to a really big, heavily populated island, it?s going to be a challenge to give the kid everything.
It?s too bad Tila doesn?t like Chihuahuas ? I think that?d be a much better match for her than a human. The resemblance is uncanny.

How hands-on are you as a father?
I don’t have a nanny. I’m doing this on my own because I don’t want to miss a moment. I have a personal assistant who helps me, someone who takes care of me while I’m taking care of them, but I’m the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep. For any parent, the first couple of months tend to get a little bit intense.
Why did you choose to become a parent via surrogate?
Adoption was one option, but it’s complicated and can take a long time. Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, ‘I’m going to jump into this with no fear.’
I don’t know why anyone would willingly procreate. The only good thing about babies is you can blame stuff on them. Like if you broke a vase. Blame the baby for knocking it down. Brad Pitt is on the upcoming cover of Rolling Stone Magazine and US Weekly has some advance details of the interview. He talks about his mortality and defends his partner, Angelina Jolie, against accusations that she manipulates the press. As for when he fell for Angelina, he volunteers the potentially controversial tidbit that they fell in love on the set of Mr. and Mrs. Smith, confirming a statement that Angelina made to the NY Times. He’s got to know that he’s fueling the gossip press with statements like that, but maybe he’s just firmly standing behind Angelina and showing that he supports what she said:
“Angie and I do not fight anymore,” he says. “What occurred to me on this film, and also with the passing of her mother [actress Marcheline Bertrand in 2007], is that there’s going to come a time when I’m not going to get to be with this person anymore. I’m not going to get to be with my children anymore. Or friends, people I love and respect. And so, if we have a flare-up, it evaporates now.”
Adds the actor, 44, “I don’t want to waste time being angry at someone I love.”
During the interview, Pitt also gets defensive about Jolie, with whom he has six children.
Asked about a recent New York Times article stating how good Jolie is at controlling the press, Pitt says, “It sounded to me like the story made Angie out to be manipulative in some way. She is savvy.”
He continues, “I get defensive. [They're] talking about not only the woman I love, but one of the people on this planet who I have the greatest respect for. I think she’s as honorable as anyone I’ve ever met.
He adds Jolie got him into flying.
“She’s definitely more experienced,” he says. “Yeah, she’s badass.”

Rolling Stone has a segment of the article available online in advance of the print version, which is out Friday. The writer says that Pitt was nervous during the interview, pacing and fidgeting, which sounds consistent with the way he’s looked in other interviews recently. He doesn’t seem entirely comfortable promoting his films, and who can blame him with the way that his words are twisted and his family’s privacy is invaded?
Pitt does tell a couple of anecdotes that might show that he needs to keep a closer watch on this children’s access to media. He says that he saw Maddox on a white supremacist website he accidentally stumbled on when looking for weapons online, and that he took him to see The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly. Is that violent film appropriate for a seven year old?
“Our seven-year-old was searching the word ‘weapons’ on Google the other day and ended up on some white-supremacist site. I’m sure now we’re on all kinds of watch lists…”
Pitt took his oldest son, Maddox, to see The Good, the Bad and the Ugly. Maddox loved it. “I have this fantasy of my older days, painting or sculpting or making things,” Pitt says. “I have this fantasy of a bike trip to Chile. I have this fantasy of flying into Morocco. But right now, more and more, it’s about getting the work done and getting home to family. I have an adventure every morning, getting up.”

It’s called “Net Nanny,” Brad, you should really install it. Despite saying that he fantasizes about his youth, Pitt told Extra that “I like wisdom that comes with age. I wouldn’t trade it for youth any day.” We all fantasize about the older days, but I know when I was young and free I was also dreaming about true love and a family someday. Singer Ricky Martin, 36, will reveal his four month old boy twins in the upcoming issue of People, and judging from the small picture on People’s website they’re adorable. Matteo and Valentino Martin were born from a surrogate rumored to be Martin’s cousin. (If this rumor is true she was probably just the gestational carrier and not the twin’s biological mother.) Martin says he is a devoted father and that he has no nanny or nurse to help with the babies. It sounds like he really loves being a dad and wants to be there for his sons:

MARTIN: I’m so happy! Everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing. Being a father feels amazing. This has been the most spiritual moment in my life.
How hands-on are you as a father?
I don’t have a nanny. I’m doing this on my own because I don’t want to miss a moment. I have a personal assistant who helps me, someone who takes care of me while I’m taking care of them, but I’m the one who changes the diapers, the one that feeds them, the one that bathes them, the one that puts them to sleep. For any parent, the first couple of months tend to get a little bit intense.
Why did you choose to become a parent via surrogate?
Adoption was one option, but it’s complicated and can take a long time. Surrogacy was an intriguing and faster option. I thought, ‘I’m going to jump into this with no fear.’
Tell us about Valetino’s and Matteo’s personalities.
Valentino loves to sleep. I call him ‘Mr. Peace and Love’ because he’s so chill and serene. Matteo is more alert and active. He was up at 3 a.m. the other night and just hanging!
What is your philosophy on raising your sons?
I love to read books to my sons and tell them stories. I play music for them so they develop their own personalities. I want to give them information and raise them with honesty and love, and give them self-esteem and a lot of acceptance.

Martin is rumored to be gay, but I think if he revealed anything about his orientation to People we would be hearing about it. Good for him for becoming a dad and taking such good care of his sons. He sounds like he’s truly thrilled by the process.
Martin has received some criticism from Catholic leaders and from a Mexican talk show host for choosing to father children without a partner. It hardly seems fair to say that he shouldn’t be a single parent when it’s a perfectly viable option for women. You can tell that he loves his sons and really cherishes them.
In August there was a story that celebrity magazines weren’t interested in photographs of Martin’s newborns because, according to an unnamed editor (Bonnie *cough* *cough*) “We don?t think he is going to tell the backstory, so the whole thing just seems kind of icky.” It sounds atypical that a single young guy would wants to raise two children on his own, but I would hardly call it “icky.” Words like “noble” and “dedicated” are more likely to come to mind.

The Oscar-winning singer/actress is going back to work - just SIX weeks after she was forced to identify the bodies of her murdered mother, brother and nephew.
Jennifer will be in Los Angeles next week to begin shooting a video for her next single, If It Isn’t Love, a spokesperson for her label J Records has confirmed.
Jennifer was previously forced to cancel filming to jet back to her hometown of Chicago after the bodies of her mother, DARNell Hudson DONERSON, and brother, JASON, were discovered shot to death on October 24 at the family home.
The gunshot-ravaged body of her seven-year-old nephew JULIAN KING was found three days later in a nearby vehicle.
The star’s estranged brother-in-law WILLIAM BALFOUR has been charged with all three murders.

Sometimes throwing yourself into your work or another activity can be helpful after a major tragedy. But I’m sure Jennifer has been getting some pressure from her record company, with whom she is contractually obligated to promote her CD, which was released just before the murders. I do hope she finds some comfort in performing - and I also hope that the media is respectful of what she’s been through. Hopefully she won’t have to do the whole talk show circuit thing and answer intrusive questions about it. Can’t you just see Kelly Ripa or those hags from The View asking her about the shootings? If it were me, I don’t think I’d be ready to talk about what happened. And the worst part is, this whole thing is far from over- Jennifer will have to relive this whole nightmare when and if William Balfour goes to trial. We are rooting for Jennifer and hope her CD does well. It’s probably little solace to her now.

Prime suspect Shaha Mishaal Adham has been cleared of any wrongdoing in the death of Mark Ruffalo’s brother Scott. Attorney Ronald Richards gave the police evidence proving Adham didn’t shoot Scott. So how exactly did Scott die? He lost at a game of Russian Roulette.
“This was an accidental shooting by someone that plays with guns,” Richards said. He credited police with being “more than impartial with the facts.”

Jessica has gained a little weight, and she looks fine but there’s always pregnancy speculation when that happens, particularly from us. Actor Mark Ruffalo’s family has issued a statement about the death of his brother Scott, 39, who died in the hospital a week after he was shot in the head at his condominium in Beverly Hills. They thank the public for their support and say that the funeral will be private. There is also a memorial fund set up in his memory.
The former main suspect, a 26 year-old female friend of the victim who turned herself into police on Monday, claims through her lawyer that Scott Ruffalo shot himself while under the influence of drugs and playing Russian Roulette. Shaha Adham was seen seen on surveillance tape entering the victim’s condominium before his death but says she was just stopping by to pick up her car keys when he shoot himself. Her attorney admits that she left the scene shortly afterwards.
“My client was a good friend of the victim and is very sad for the loss of his family. However, she played no role whatsoever in his accidental death,” Richards said.
Shaha Adham, 26, surrendered Monday after Beverly Hills police issued an arrest warrant for attempted murder…
Lt. Tony Lee with the Beverly Hills Police Department said he could not comment on Adham’s story, citing the ongoing criminal investigation.
Police knew to question Adham because she was on surveillance video at Ruffalo’s condominium along with Brian Scofield, 29, a “person of interest” in the case, Richards said.
Scott Ruffalo, a married hairdresser, died late Monday after he was taken off life support, one week after he was found with a gunshot wound to the head in his Beverly Hills condo. He is the kid brother of “You Can Count on Me” star Mark Ruffalo.
“I can confirm that my client was present when Mr. Ruffalo shot himself,” Richards said Tuesday. “She was picking up some keys.”
He said the gun belonged to Ruffalo and that Ruffalo was a known cocaine user who had used drugs and played with guns in the past in front of numerous witnesses.

It sounds like a suspicious excuse. There may have been some evidence supporting Adham’s claim that it was a Russian Roulette death as she has been released and cleared by police of all wrongdoing. The other “person of interest,” Adham’s boyfriend Brian Scofield, has also been released. TMZ claims that Scofield was not at the scene and was just the first person Adham called. Another unknown person is said to have been there at the time of the shooting.
Scott Ruffalo was married and worked as a hairdresser. It’s a tragic story no matter how he died and hopefully the family will be able to find some peace. Our thoughts and prayers are with them.

Paula Abdul has spoken out about the fact that the woman who killed herself outside her home, Paula Goodspeed, was allowed to audition for American Idol. Abdul says it’s the producers’ fault and that she clearly told that that Goodspeed was stalking her but that they let her on anyway just to mess with her, and they even invited her back.
Paula Abdul says the Fox network and “American Idol” producers knew Paula Goodspeed had stalked her, and allowed the woman to audition for the show anyway. “I said this girl is a stalker of mine and please do not let her in,” Abdul said Monday during an interview with Barbara Walters on her Sirius XM radio show.
Goodspeed was found dead of an apparent suicide in a car near Abdul’s home last month.
Abdul said “Idol” producers ignored her protests and brought Goodspeed on the show “for entertainment value.”
“It’s fun for them to cause me stress,” Abdul said. “This was something that would make good television.”
At the behest of producers, Goodspeed appeared on the show more than once, Abdul said.
Both Fox and Fremantle Media North America, which produces “American Idol,” declined to comment Tuesday.
Abdul, 46, said Goodspeed had written her “disturbing letters” for nearly 18 years and that she maintained a restraining order against the woman at times.

People’s write up on this story has more information about it, and says that Goodspeed followed Abdul home from an audition accompanied by her mother and that’s how she learned where the singer lived. I guess we know why the stalker’s family didn’t intervene if they were enabling her like that. Goodspeed regularly sent disturbing letters to Abdul, sometimes including naked photos of herself and saying that she wanted Abdul up in Heaven as her guardian angel.
As for why she’s still on Idol despite the fact that producers probably put her in harm’s way by encouraging this woman, Abdul answered “I’m under contract.”
Abdul said on The View earlier this week that Goodspeed’s death on November 12 was not the first time she had attempted suicide in front of her home. She said Goodspeed had overdosed in her car on the street on another occasion and gone “code blue.” Abdul is selling her home and has not returned there since the incident. Along with the bad memories there, she also has to contend with the fact that her address has been made public.
Can you blame Paula for coming out with this news that producers overruled her objections to letting a stalker on the show? They may have been responsible for setting up a situation in which this woman was able to follow Paula home. American Idol has been under fire for exploiting mentally disabled people to make for entertaining and mock-worthy footage. They seem to be willing to exploit their judges too. It’s a good thing Paula wasn’t hurt because it seems like it could have been a real possibility.

She has good reason to be - her film Four Christmases with Vince Vaughn was at the top of the US box office for the second weekend in a row. It has grossed $69.4 million according to Box Office Mojo. These are also exclusive photos from the agency, Fame, which means that there was just one photographer trailing Reese and her kids and she wasn’t mobbed.
This week’s Star Magazine claims that Reese has turned down three marriage proposals from her boyfriend Jake Gyllenhaal. They claim he proposed with a diamond ring on her birthday on March 22, again in July and a third time in October in London. Reese keeps saying “no,” according to the unreliable magazine.
The couple is also rumored to be having trouble because Reese plans to spend Christmas with her ex, Ryan Phillippe and their children instead of including Jake, according to the recent National Enquirer. They say “[Jake is] still trying to convince [Reese] to change her mind and spend at least part of Christmas with him, sources say, but at this point their relationship is faltering.”
We’ll have to see if those two stand the test of time, but they’ve been together for about a year and a half. If these reports are to be believed, they’re having a common problem that one partner wants to move forward with the relationship and the other is resisting. Jake wants marriage and a family and Reese isn’t ready to jump into another legal commitment. She told Parade Magazine “Family is all we have in life, but I don’t know how I feel about marriage. Obviously, I’m not far enough out of being married to think about doing it again.”

People are making a big deal out of the fact that Tom Cruise gave Spencer Pratt advice on how he should have conducted his wedding to Heidi Montag, saying that “If the girl wants the [big] wedding, you gotta do the wedding. It’s a special occasion, and she’ll remember it forever. Spencer… dude… you’ll realize this later.”
The fact is that the MTV people interviewing Cruise had to explain the situation to him and specifically asked if he had advice for this guy he probably has never heard of who eloped with his girlfriend, who was hoping for a traditional wedding.
US Weekly, which has been all over the Spencer/Heidi fake wedding with two separate cover stories, reports this news and also has a response from Spencer: “If Tom Cruise says so, it must be true. If Tom’s the best man, we’ll have a big wedding!”
Spencer doesn’t address whether he and Heidi have done the necessary paperwork to make their marriage official. They certainly laid the groundwork for that reality show focusing on their relationship that they’re said to be gunning for, they don’t need to complicate matters by legally commingling their funds and lives. They’re together for the cameras, and maybe the cameras will go away soon and so will their relationship.
Cruise visited the Toronto studios of Much Music yesterday to appear on the show Much on Demand and promote his Nazi movie. He did the “Tropic Thunder” dance with host Matt Babel and also looked amused to encounter two guys wearing dress shirts and underwear like his iconic “Risky Business” character. In the audience at the show was a guy wearing a Guy Falkes mask, the standard disguise of the group Anonymous which is staging a global protest against Cruise’s Scientology cult. There’s a video of Cruise very obviously trying not to look at the guy in the mask, the meaning of which he is surely familiar with. Cruise would much rather be confronted by random questions about a reality star’s life decisions than have to deal with the reality of the cult he supports that destroys people’s lives.

Angelina Jolie looked elegant and dressed down at the premiere of Gran Torino in LA last night. Wearing a simple gray sweater with slim black slacks and nude peep-toe heels, Jolie was on hand to support Clint Eastwood, who directs and stars in the film. Her makeup looks great and I really like Jolie’s very understated style. I’m not sure those shoes go with that outfit, but if anyone can make a trend it’s Jolie. She wore the same shoes with a black dress to the Kung Fu Panda DVD release last month.
Jolie told The Insider (link leads to video) that Eastwood is so talented a director you don’t even know he’s there:
“He’s original, he’s classic. There’s just nobody like him. He’s strong you don’t know he’s directing you. You feel like you’re just having a conversation with him, but he is a really good director. You kind of walk away and think wow he snuck one in there. But he’s great, he’s just the best.”
Eastwood’s wife said she had reservations about him taking the part at a time when she needed him at home, but that it didn’t change their family life at all and that he was the same person.
Gran Torino is about a Korean War veteran who confronts a gang that threatens a neighbor family. It’s out in theaters on January 9. Here’s the trailer, it looks good and maybe it should have come out before the end of the year in order to be eligible for Oscar season.

Who knew Tila Tequila had a book. I didn’t even think that Tila could actually read and/or write much less form coherent sentences for her new book she’s been promoting, Hooking Up With Tila Tequila. Avril Lavigne is looking sort of pregnant. Viewing these pictures, she could be expecting, or she?s shoplifting, there?s definitely something stuffed up that shirt. Her arms and face look thin but her stomach and bust look significantly inflated.
This isn?t the first time that pregnancy rumors have followed Avril, who is the past has claimed that she doesn?t plan to have children until she?s in her 30s.

Actually, I think that my kids are easier than my dog. While it took two years, my children eventually were toilet trained. The dog never has been. Although, I can shove the dog out in the yard when he cries at night, if I did that to the kids it would be less acceptable.
Avril and her husband of 2 years, Sum41 singer Deryck Whibley, were recently the subject of divorce rumors. While she was touring he was seen out with a tall brunette, and they ?couldn?t keep their hands off each other?. Perhaps the baby is a patch for their marital issues?

I’ve heard of kisses that make you light headed, that make you weak in the knees, even kisses that make you faint if you’re in a romance novel and wearing an extremely tight corset. But I’ve never heard of a kiss that makes you deaf… until now.
A young woman in southern China has partially lost her hearing after her boyfriend ruptured her eardrum during an excessively passionate kiss, local media reported Monday.
The 20-something girl from Zhuhai, in southern Guangdong province, went to hospital completely deaf in her left ear, the China Daily said, citing a report in a local newspaper.
“The kiss reduced pressure in the mouth, pulled the eardrum out and caused the breakdown of the ear,” the paper quoted a doctor surnamed Li from the hospital as saying.

It sounds to me like someone took the phrase “sucking face” just a tad too literally, and aggressively! What exactly was this guy trying to do? Syphon the glass of wine she just drank? I wouldn’t call the kiss “excessively passionate” as much as excessively creepy.
The girl is going to be fine, the doctors anticipate her hearing to return to completely normal in a couple months. There’s no note on how the relationship will fare, though. It would be hard not to use the incident for leverage later in life. I know if it were me and I wanted something, I wouldn’t be able to fight the urge to play the old “you made me deaf” card.
“While kissing is normally very safe, doctors advise people to proceed with caution,” the paper said.

So, let this be a warning as mistletoe season approaches. If the partner standing under the twig with you starts bragging about lung capacity, safety says find a reason to run. It’s always fun until someone ruptures an eardrum.

I want Jennifer Aniston to find long-lasting, true love. Not because she’s any less of a woman without a man, but because she honestly seems to be looking for it in her life. I don’t think Aniston worries too much about the past, I think she’s just looking to make herself a happy future. No one ever thought that would include John Mayer, though.

In an exclusive interview, she blushes: “He’s a rare one. He is extraordinary and it is wonderful to watch him… the way his brain works and the way he thinks thoughts… it’s beautiful.”
“It’s an amazing thing to watch a musician think,” she reveals.
“I don’t know many musicians but when his guitar is on him it’s just like a channel.
It’s something I’ve never ever seen before.”

Oh, yes, musicians can make the most logical woman somehow make sense of the most illogical things and feelings. Especially, if you haven’t had that experience before. I’ve been there, and kicked myself plenty of times afterward.
There are plenty of thoughts that John Mayer has made public that are neither extraordinary or beautiful, which is why so many of us have such a hard time understanding how Aniston could be so serious about her relationship with him. But people change, people grow, and often times love is a catalyst for growth and change. So, whereas Jessica Simpson wasn’t the platform to pass from self-serving, over-sharing blogger to rare, beautiful, husband material, maybe Jennifer Aniston is. I will keep my fingers crossed for you, Jen, but I still can’t hold my breath.

Kind of. Tom Cruise taped an interview with MTV Canada’s The After Show to promote his movie Valkryie during which he was asked about The Hills. Specifically, about Spencer and Heidi’s elopement. Cruise, who had to be told what a “Hills” was, gave Spencer some sage advice:
“If the girl wants the wedding, you gotta do the wedding,” Cruise said. “It’s a special occasion, and she’ll remember it forever. Spencer … dude … you’ll realize this later.”
Listen to Tom, he knows how to control women. You lavish them with gifts and whisper sweet nothings in their ear and inject them with muscle relaxants. You don’t force them to get breast augmentation and a nose job and a shotgun wedding in Mexico. That path will always lead to resentment and fleeting fame. The trick is to stretch your 15 minutes into 15 years. Sigh. Spencer will never learn. He’ll always be a poor man’s Tom Cruise.
