Getting a jump start on her week, Ashley Olsen was spotted leaving her New York City apartment on Monday (May 9).
With her hair still wet from the shower, the former ?Full House? gal carried a stack of books and paper as she headed out to tend to her day?s duties.
Over the weekend, the paparazzi caught up with Ms Olsen, who was joined by a mystery male, presumably her new fling.
The twosome hurried to their vehicle after enjoying dinner at The Darby, a swanky Big Apple eatery.

This news is in TMZ, which regularly runs stories from celebrity sources without questioning them at all. (Hence the “Whitney Houston is in rehab, but it’s not for drugs or alcohol if her people say it isn’t” story, which they revised once her team admitted the obvious.) So I’m hoping this is just pure wishful thinking on Mother Crackhead’s part. According to TMZ it’s likely that Lindsay is going to scrape by with just 14 days at home with an electronic monitoring bracelet for that 120 day sentence she was given for violating her probation by lifting the necklace. Lindsay is set to plead guilty to the other charge in the case of the purloined necklace, misdemeanor theft, tomorrow, and she probably won’t be showing up at court at all. How is this girl with her ridiculous My Little Pony extensions not in jail at this time? The mind boggles.
Sources connected with Lindsay tell TMZ … Lindsay wants to show up for the plea, but the cost and craziness associated with a Lindsay Lohan appearance is just too much — what with extra Sheriff’s deputies, court disruption, etc.
So Lindsay’s lawyer, Shawn Holley, will appear before Judge Stephanie Sautner to enter the plea.
TMZ broke the story … Lindsay will plead no contest, and in such cases it’s routine a defendant can serve the sentence with an electronic monitoring device at home, rather than doing jail time.
As we first reported … both Sheriff’s Department and the Probation Department sources tell us … Lindsay would be eligible to serve her 120-day jail sentence with electronic monitoring at home.
Judge Sautner has made it clear … she’s treating Lindsay like any other defendant, so it’s likely the judge will allow her the electronic monitoring option.
And, a defendant who serves time at home with an monitoring bracelet gets the same time off for good behavior and jail overcrowding as someone who serves time in the pokey. And we’re told 120 days translates into 14 DAYS. So 14 days with a bracelet and she’ll be off the hook with the necklace!

I’m really hoping TMZ is as wrong here as they were with Whitney Houston’s rehab stint. Of course Lindsay will plead guilty but her people will leak stories all over that she just did it at the advice of her lawyer and is oh-so-innocent. She’s never culpable for anything, and she never did anything wrong and we’re all out to destroy her promising career.
Lindsay has actually been showing up to her community service. She’s been sentenced to three months of full time work at a homeless shelter and morgue. According to a “source” who spoke to Radar, aka Lindsay’s mom, she’s so engaged and present for the homeless women and they’re so impressed with her commitment to service and how blindingly beautiful she is with all that flowing yarn hair. (I made up that last part, but you know they wanted to add that, like Lindsay is some kind of saint.) It will take a lot more than a bunch of court dates and community service hours to shake some sense into this girl. I’m hoping the judge realizes that and gives her time in the slammer again. She’s been asking for it for months if not years. It doesn’t matter though, even if she gets off with a slap on the wrist yet again she’ll manage to screw it up somehow.

Oh, goodness. Alicia Silverstone has given birth to a healthy baby boy, and everybody is doing fine. Good for them, and congratulations. But two pieces of news disturbed me slightly. First of all: Alicia is only 34 years old?!? I thought she was much older, honestly. Someone might have skimmed a few years off, I?m just saying. Second thing: Alicia and her husband Christopher Jarecki named their innocent little baby boy? Bear Blu. For the love of God.
Alicia Silverstone is a mom! The actress and author, 34, welcomed her first child with husband Christopher Jarecki on Thursday, her rep tells PEOPLE exclusively.
Son Bear Blu Jarecki weighed in at 7 lbs., 15 oz.
“Mom and Dad are completely in love” with their “beautiful baby boy,” Silverstone’s rep said in a statement.
She and Jarecki, 40, wed in June 2005 in Lake Tahoe after eight years together.
The author of vegan cookbook The Kind Diet, Silverstone will next be seen in the films Vamps and Butter.

The video debut comes as RiRi has been busily traveling throughout Europe in support of Nivea's 100th anniversary.
Most recently offering up a short performance on the Nivea Blue Boat, the 23-year-old also played gigs in paris and Milan over the past week.

It?s super-slow today, which is why I?m doing a non-story about Gwyneth Paltrow. I got on tip on my Twitter a few days ago that Gwyneth Paltrow was back in London, out-shining Kate Middleton with her grace and class and shiny hair. Gwyneth appeared on a BBC weekend show, Something for the Weekend, and she was apparently insufferable, like always. There was this minor story which came out of the interview:
Gwyneth Paltrow has put off pursuing a theatre role to focus on motherhood.
The Shakespeare In Love star longs to tackle a part on Broadway or in London’s West End but she has delayed her dream because of her commitment to daughter Apple, six, and five-year-old son Moses, her kids with rocker husband Chris Martin.
Speaking on U.K. TV show Something For The Weekend, she says, “Yes, I’d love to (appear in a musical theatre role). But not right now. My kids are still at that age where I want to be home for bedtime and on weekends and if you do a play you’re out when they’re home. So it doesn’t make sense now, but maybe, someday.”

I remember that before she had kids, Gwyneth did do a play in London (Proof, I believe), but I guess she?s talking about musical theatre in this interview. But now we know - we can look forward to seeing Dame Goop on the stage when little Apple and Moses are teenagers, probably. In this same interview, Dame Goop also deigned to confirm that she will likely appear in both Iron Man 3, and The Avengers (which is like the ?best of? all of the comic super-heroes). Gwyneth said: ?I’ll probably be in Iron Man 3. I’ll possibly be very briefly in The Avengers. Maybe, we’ll see.? If that?s not enough, Gwyneth is also going to be making some appearances on this summer?s Glee tour. Because she just has to be at home with her kids all the time! Paula Abdul closed a last minute deal to become a judge on X Factor yesterday. She now joins LA Reid, Simon Cowell and Cheryl Cole at the judge’s table. Former Pussycat Doll Nicole Scherzinger and UK tv persona Steve Jones will host.
A condition in her contract for her failed Live to Dance show almost prevented her from joining X Factor but that wasn’t the main issue because it had been resolved. The main issue was Paula who didn’t make a final decision until hours before the taping. Asked what the problem was, Abdul said, “I am here, only Simon and I understand.” Which is true. No one can decipher Paula’s incoherent rambling except for Simon.
I’m surprised when they asked Paula for comment, she didn’t just say, “The sky is blue. Coke. Muffins?” She’s a terrible judge. Nothing she says is ever relevant. It’s as if when people perform in front of her, she closes her eyes and just imagines what happens and comments on that.

In an interview with a French reporter from Europe1, Marg Helgenberger called out Justin Bieber for being a brat while he was on set filming his part for his guest role on an episode of CSI (unedited video after the jump). The Daily Mail says:
“I shouldn?t be saying this but he was kind of a brat,” Marg Helgenberger said.
“He was very nice to me. But he locked one of the producers in a closet and he put his fist through a cake that was on the cast?s table.”
Helgenberger, 52, is seen rolling her eyes when asked if Bieber’s role was just to boost ratings or if he was a talented actor.
Frankly, I’m inclined to believe everything she says. Last time I checked, she had an awesome rack, and Justin didn’t. That’s two strikes against him right there.

After a lot of speculation, Paula Abdul has joined Simon Cowell’s X Factor as a fellow judge. Accompanying her on the panel will be Cowell, British singer Cheryl Cole and American music producer Antonio “L.A.” Reid. Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussycat Dolls and British TV presenter Steve Jones will co-host the show, which premieres in September and just started filming on Sunday, with Paula there.
The ‘X Factor’ judging panel is complete, with the final chair to be filled by Paula Abdul, who just closed the deal in last-minute negotiations, according to the Hollywood Reporter.
Abdul will take her seat alongside Simon Cowell, reuniting the former ‘Idol’ stars once again. Cheryl Cole and Antonio ‘L.A.’ Reid have already been named as the other ‘X Factor’ judges.
Meanwhile, Pussycat Doll and former ‘Dancing With the Stars’ champ Nicole Scherzinger has been hired to host the U.S. talent competition when it premieres on Fox in September.
But Scherzinger will have a co-host, according to EW.com: Steve Jones, British TV personality. Jones, 34, is a Welsh-born former model and a virtual unknown in the U.S. (Of course, Ryan Seacrest was largely unknown when he was tapped to emcee ‘American Idol,’ and the gig seems to have worked out for him!) Jones reportedly was down to the wire competing for the ‘X Factor’ job against ‘High School Musical’ star Corbin Bleu.
Scherzinger, 32, wowed producers when she was a guest judge on a recent episode of the ‘X Factor’ in the U.K., where she also released a hit single this year, ‘Don’t Hold Your Breath.’

Well Paula will certainly make things more interesting, if not harder to understand. Cowell needed a big name to join him on the panel and while Reid and Cole are both famous they don’t have Paula’s name recognition. I like her and find her very sweet, but she’s definitely loopy as hell. She’s a fun sidekick for Simon though and he’ll be recreating the most interesting judge dynamic from Idol by having her join him on X Factor. Idol producers really screwed up the panel by bringing in Kara DioGuardi in 2009 and kind of forcing Paula out. I kind of understand why they did it though. She can’t be easy to work with.

These are some photos from a dinner for Karl Lagerfeld, held in Paris last night. Several of Lagerfeld?s girls came out to support him. Of course, there was Blake Lively, the newest (budget, cheap, mall girl) face of Chanel Mademoiselle handbags, as you may remember. Karl Lagerfeld has made Blake his special project - ever since signing her to the Chanel ad campaign, Blake has done several events with Lagerfeld, and has worn several Chanel dresses to prominent events (like the Met Gala). Even though the consensus around the majority of fashion people seems to be that Blake is a budget mall girl, Lagerfeld (and Anna Wintour) keep pushing Blake in our faces. As for Blake?s Chanel dress - well, when I first saw it, I thought she was just wearing a pom-pom, and that seemed right to me. Blake Lively: Making Couture Look Like Pom-Pom Dresses Since 2007.
Vanessa Paradis was also at the dinner, looking prettier than I?ve seen her in a while - she doesn?t look so sickly here, right? She looks healthy, like she?s eaten a few meals and gotten some sun.
And then there?s Rachel Bilson, trying desperately to be a Fashion Girl, trying desperately to have any kind of relevancy. Karl selected Rachel to star in the commercials he directed for Magnum ice cream. So, Karl gave Rachel a job. So she?s indebted to him. I wonder if made her wear that hat just to amuse himself.

Much like Lady Gaga, Katy Perry?s style influences become apparent very quickly. Katy seems to mostly jack from Betty Page and Dita Von Teese, then add a dash of Japanese cartoons. Now, I?m not really claiming that Dita Von Teese is the first person in modern fashion history to ever do this vintagey-pinup thing, but Dita does it really, really well, she?s super-committed to the look, and she?s actually a student of the 1940s-1950s fashion era, to the point where she?s likely an expert at this point. Anyway, Page Six has an interesting story about people calling Katy out on her blatant theft of Dita?s look, in general and specifically on the cover of Vanity Fair:
Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery — but Katy Perry’s new Vanity Fair cover appears to be an almost exact copy of a 2008 Dita Von Teese pose.
Perry’s provocative pose on the cover of the June issue, shot by famed photographer Annie Liebovitz and styled by the magazine’s fashion and style director Jessica Diehl, has sparked whispers that the pop star is ripping off burlesque star von Teese’s style.
Perry is also quoted in the magazine as saying: “I looked into what was out there and I didn’t see anyone like me . . . my style, my opinion.”
Yes, apart from von Teese’s almost identical pose, hair and outfit at a 2008 Wonderbra Lingerie Collection launch in London. Photos can still be seen on fan Web sites for the sultry star.
A source said: “Images in this shoot appear to be a direct homage to Dita Von Teese. It is surprising that Katy claims to be such an original in the interview.”
Von Teese herself appears to take the imitation as flattery. She told us at the party she hosted at Los Feliz to launch her Cointreau cocktail: “People have always copied my style. I used to have friends who would dye their hair exactly the same shade as mine. I see it as a compliment.” Of Perry, she added: “Katy and I are friends. She comes to a lot of my shows, but she [recently] came backstage and said: ‘I am taking all of this (gesturing at her hair and costume).’ ”
This isn’t the first time Liebovitz has been accused of borrowing iconic images for inspiration. Her 2008 Vogue cover featuring LeBron James and Gisele Bundchen was said to be an homage to a World War I Army recruitment poster. Liebovitz argued she hadn’t seen the poster.
Reps for Vanity Fair and Perry didn’t get back to us. Leibovitz responded: “I’d never seen the Wonderbra ad. Katy’s is a classic pose as old as the hills.”

I went back and found the old 2008 images of Dita, and while I wouldn?t say Katy and Annie Liebovtiz jacked the entire look and style, the similarities are certainly striking, especially when you?re looking at hair, makeup and the color of the bustier.
It also sounds like Dita?s not offended - but that she wants to make sure that people know Katy is copying her. Dita is so classy. I love her so much.

Reese Witherspoon is just coming off her International press tour for Water for Elephants, and she was spotted with her family outside church yesterday wearing a soft cast on her left foot. The Daily Mail explains that these type of casts are used for ankle injuries, so it looks like Reese hurt her ankle somehow. We see her jogging outside a lot, and we could speculate that she tripped or somehow sprained her ankle while jogging, although it’s hard to tell.
Reese’s family was looking so smart and color-coordinated on Mother’s Day. Reese’s son Deacon, seven and a half, was adorable in his navy suit jacket, khaki pants and red tie. Her daughter Ava, 11, wore a navy fitted jacket with white slacks. Reese was in a light blue skirt with a blue and white striped short-sleeve blouse. Reese’s new husband, Jim Toth, was the most casually dressed in a navy polo shirt with khaki pants. Do you think Reese dresses him too?
I wonder how everyone ended up wearing the same color palette. I know when I get my son dressed I’ll sometimes pick out the same color shirt as I’m wearing and it’s like I do it almost subconsciously. Then my husband might put on a similar-colored shirt and we’ll go out like that all matchy-matchy. When you add in a couple of more people it seems more deliberate, though. It’s like they all match Reese’s leg brace. I can imagine Reese telling Jim, “wear that shirt, honey” although she would have picked out a button-down shirt for him for church. Still, this is an improvement over what he’s worn to church in the past. (Remember the shirt with the embroidered eagles paired with jeans and a trucker cap?)

The ?Georgia Rule? actress looked a bit worn out in a grey hoodie, blue top, and black stretch pants as she strolled back to her home.
On Saturday, LiLo attended ?Life Is Not A Fairytale,? an exhibit by photographer Tyler Shields including several works featuring her.
Tyler told press, ?She's an amazing actress. I've shot Lindsay probably 20 times and nobody has seen any of it. This is the first little taste."

Getting the popular UK show's Stateside version underway, Cheryl Cole attended the first round taping of "X-Factor" in downtown Los Angeles on Sunday afternoon (May 8).
Glamming up the Galen center venue, the former Girls Aloud singer looked colorful and cute as she worked the arrivals area at the show kickoff held on the Mother's Day holiday.
The event comes just as the star host/judge lineup was completed with last minute additions of Paula Abdul, Nicole Scherzinger and Steve Jones.
With Miss Scherzinger and Mr Jones set to co-host the series, creator Simon Cowell said of the announcement, "These two are going to be great together. I have always wanted Steve to work with us; I think he is a real star. Nicole is fantastic. I loved working with her on the U.K. X Factor last year. She is gorgeous and super-talented."
Meanwhile, Miss Abdul joins Miss Cole and L.A. Reid to complete the trip of "X Factor" US judges, with Paula saying of the news, "I am excited beyond words to be a part of The X Factor. I couldn't be happier to bring my love for cultivating talent and performance to such a wildly anticipated show."
The 48-year-old added, "I'm looking forward to being back with the FOX/FremantleMedia family and know that it will be an extraordinary journey -- we're going to have a blast. I'm also delighted and grateful to be sitting next to Simon again...but you might want to check back with me in a week or two!"

Opting to spend the weekend in the City of Lights after performing at a handful of European Nivea anniversary celebrations, Rihanna was spotted leaving her Paris hotel on Sunday afternoon (May 8).
The Barbadian beauty stopped to greet fans as she was loaded into a car to cruise around the French capital city while clad in a cute sheer black jumper with her red locks in a long single braid.
The outing comes just as it was announced that RiRi has been slated to kickoff the "Today" show's 2011 Summer Concert Series.
With the 23-year-old set to take the stage on May 27th, the show also granted a slot to Rihanna's ex-beau, Chris Brown, will will perform on July 15th.

Not letting a minor injury get in the way of her special day, Reese Witherspoon attended a Mother's Day church service with husband, Jim Toth, and her kids, Ava and Deacon, in Santa Monica, CA on Sunday (May 8).
Wearing a soft cast on her injured foot, the "Legally Blonde" actress hobbled around the venue following the day-beginning sermon before loading the family into the car and heading off for a Mother's Day brunch.
Miss Witherspoon's family outing comes as she just returned to the States following an intense multi-city overseas press tour for her new movie "Water For Elephants".
During one of the stops, Reese chatted with Daily Mail about her roller-coaster of a recent life, saying, "I?ve had ups and downs, emotions that haven?t always been sunny and it?s really important to have a support system."
The recently remarried actress continued, "I think the early part of raising children is very physical and then the later part is very emotional. It?s complicated making big decisions about how to guide a life and soul in this world. I?m very lucky that I have really good girlfriends."
As for her own matriarch, Witherspoon told, "I have a very optimistic mother ? she?s taught me to see the bright side of things, and when you have children you don?t have a choice. You can?t just sit around and feel bad about yourself. You?ve got to take them to school, you?ve got to pick them up. They look at you as the guiding compass of how to behave in life."
"Some days I didn?t want to get out of bed, but as someone said to me when I first had kids, Being a parent stops the horrible cycle of self-obsession," she added.
