| Jodie Foster: Superhero films are 'like fracking,' they 'wreck the earth' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Jodie Foster directed one of my favorite movies of all time, Home for the Holidays. I think Foster is a great director, and her strength is absolutely with human stories, family dramas and performance-driven realism. Foster is not out there, directing Marvel movies or DC Comic movies, although I think if she chose to do those kinds of movies, she would be good at it. But clearly, Jodie Foster is not interested. She told the Radio Times that she actually thinks superhero movies are ruining the film industry.
The superhero genre is dominating the box office, but one Oscar winner thinks they’re having a negative effect on movie audiences across the world. While speaking with Radio Times about directing an episode on the latest season of Black Mirror, Academy Award-winner Jodie Foster addressed the dominance of superhero movies and the studios who push them, likening the trend to “fracking.”
“Going to the movies has become like a theme park,” said Foster. “Studios making bad content in order to appeal to the masses and shareholders is like fracking ? you get the best return right now but you wreck the earth. It?s ruining the viewing habits of the American population and then ultimately the rest of the world. I don?t want to make $200 million movies about superheroes.”
But that doesn’t mean Foster would ever turn a superhero project down herself, as she said she would consider making a film if it had “really complex psychology.”
[From Comicbook.com]
I kind of agree with her?? I wouldn?t compare it to fracking, and I wouldn?t frame it as ?wreck the earth? though – clearly, there?s still an appetite for smaller films and historical films and that kind of thing with filmgoers. La La Land, Get Out, Moonlight, those are some examples of smaller, ?quirky? films which did well at the box office and proved that there is an appetite for something other than bloated superhero nonsense. Dunkirk had the ?spectacle? of these enormous set pieces, but because it was historical and narrative-driven, it?s not painted with the same brush as Marvel films. So, while I agree with Foster that the business model of superhero films cannot and should not be maintained, I don?t believe that superhero films are completely destroying the industry – it’s more like the studios need to realize that filmgoers still have an appetite for other films too.

| Margot Robbie in Chanel at the Critics Choice Awards: terrible or fun? | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I love it when you can just tell that an actress has been ?talked into? wearing something by their stylist. You can see it on their face, the fact that they?re not really a believer. Such is the case with Margot Robbie in this Chanel. Margot is getting over the flu, and she seemed a bit perkier at the Critics Choice Awards than she did at the Golden Globes. But she still didn?t seem like a believer in this Chanel. I see why – this is ridiculous. At least she had fun with her hair though.
Allison Janney, goddess among women. She?s such a cheeseball and so much fun. She wore this Michael Cinco gown and looked great. She won too – does she have Best Supporting Actress locked up at this point?
Elisabeth Moss in Erdem? oh, honey, no. This is bad on her. It?s not really a bad dress, I just think the lining gives Moss a weird doll-like body. The silhouette is actually great on her though – this is exactly the cut she needs to flatter her figure.
Nicole Kidman in Valentino. This was so bad! It was bad from every angle. It was bad in motion. It had bad sleeves and a bad neck and a bad skirt. Bad bad bad.

| Ricky Martin: I want people to see my family & say 'There's nothing wrong with that' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Ricky Martin, a man who rocks a Speedo like no other, spoke to Out magazine in advance of the premiere of FX?s American Crime Story: The Assassination of Gianni Versace, which premieres on Wednesday (I can?t wait).
The 46-year-old singer, actor and bon-bon shaker feels that the late designer?s story is just as relevant today as it was when he was murdered back in 1997. ?I believe that the story of injustice this series will bring to the table will spark a lot of conversations about things that we, as the LGBTQ community, were dealing with in the ?90s, and that we?re still dealing with.? He also pointed out that ?At this point in our lives, there shouldn?t be stigmas over the things that we are going to be talking about.?
Ricky is doing his part to further the conversation in a positive direction, putting his his nine-year-old twin sons, Matteo and Valentino, and his artist husband, Jwan Yosef

| Angelina Jolie in Ralph & Russo at the Critics Choice Awards: feathered nonsense? | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Angelina Jolie attended last night?s Critics Choice Awards because First They Killed My Father was nominated for Best Foreign Film. I had to look it up online to see if the film won – it did not – because the Critics Choice Awards were shambolic and disorganized. I guess it doesn?t really matter – Angelina is just enjoying the ride, and she?s not going to these awards shows to win, she?s just going to support her film and have some fun. Incidentally, she was also nominated for a BAFTA this week (for Foreign Film).
Angelina attended the Critics Choice Awards with writer Loung Ung, who wrote the memoir First They Killed My Father. They had fun posing together on the carpet! It was cute. Not so cute? Angelina?s style. I mean? I have this idea of Angelina, that when she?s really trying to be glamorous, her idea of glam is kind of tacky and showgirl. This Ralph and Russo dress is kind of a mess, with the big feathered bust. Angelina paired it with the worst pair of satin bridesmaid?s shoes ever. Still, everything from the neck up is lovely.
Meanwhile, the tabloids this week are trying to start a rumor that Angelina is getting involved with a Cambodian filmmaker named PraCh Ly. Jolie?s people shut it down to People.
Angelina Jolie is single and not interested in dating, a source tells PEOPLE.
?She isn?t dating anyone and won?t be for a very long time. She is focused on her children and their needs,? the source says.
Recent rumors linked Jolie to Cambodian lyricist and filmmaker PraCh Ly, but the source tells PEOPLE that the rapper ?is a friend.? ?She respects his work,? the source adds.
[From People]
Sure. I believe that right now, she?s just focused on the kids and their schedules and all of that. But in a year? I do hope that she starts dating at some point. Do it for the gossip, please, Angelina.

| Diane Kruger & Norman Reedus became red-carpet official at the Critics Choice Awards | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Diane Kruger and Norman Reedus made their ?red carpet debut? as a couple at last night Critics Choice Awards. To be fair, Reedus and Kruger have been on red carpets together before, when they worked together several years ago, in what was likely the beginning of their affair. But ever since Diane and Joshua Jackson broke up, Diane and Norman have been together and they?ve been easing their way into official-coupledom status. I think this was probably smart, to make their first red-carpet appearance at a low-key awards show. That being said, Norman Reedus really brings out the worst in her, sartorially. This Vera Wang dress is bad. Every part of this dress looks like an afterthought.
Kate Bosworth in Brock Collection. This dress is a nightmare, my God. It?s like the ugliest wedding gown in the world had a baby with the biggest doily in the world and that baby had a stupid ruffle.
Speaking of ugly-ass doilies, check out Allison Williams? Dolce & Gabbana gown. First of all? at some point, actresses need to stop wearing Dolce & Gabbana. They are problematic people/designers. Second of all, what the hell was her stylist thinking???
Yara Shahidi in Giambattista Valli. Ugly dress, beautiful girl.

| Emma Roberts debuted some terrible bangs at the Critics Choice Awards | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I love the fact that my bangs-hatred is so well known that as soon as a celebrity gets new bangs, I?ve got people tweeting @ me. When the camera cut to Emma Roberts at the Critics Choice Awards, people were like ?damn, what happened to Vera Farmiga?? No. Emma Roberts attended the CCAs with her on-again boyfriend/fiance (?) Evan Peters – ordinarily I would be talking about how f–king toxic this relationship seems, but we?re talking about her bangs instead. LOOK AT THEM. WHY DID SHE THINK THEY WERE A GOOD IDEA? What in the world possessed her to go into a hair salon and ask for this shade of blonde – it?s awful too – and those bangs??? As for her gown – it?s Armani and it?s beautiful. She should have chosen this for her wedding dress. But now she has to wait until she grows out those hideous bangs.
Remember when I was grotesquely obsessed with Jessica Biel?s bad bangs? At some point, she grew them out and I guess I didn?t notice. She looks worlds better now. She also looks so much prettier when her douchebag husband isn?t attached at her hip, trying to steal her thunder. Biel looked lovely in this Oscar de la Renta dress. Really pretty.
I enjoy the fact that Kiernan Shipka is trying to ?work? this Delpozo, like maybe if she just poses in the right way, this ensemble will look cute. Oh, honey. That?s not the way it works! This is awful – a tutu attached to bad pants and a terrible tank top. Nope.
