Celine Dion is on the second leg of her Courage World Tour. Shes taking today off before doing two shows in Newark, NJ, over the weekend and then is heading down to DC. She spent the weekend performing, relaxing and being her fabulous self in New York City. While she was in town for four shows, she got a surprise serenade from a fan as she was leaving her hotel. Celine made her driver stop so that she could hear the end of the womans song, and then gave her a fistbump. The woman singing in the clip has since taken it down, but here is a clip of it in a video on ET Canada.
Celine tells the fan, a woman named Freida Solomon, Thank you so much for that. A still from one of the videos has already been turned into a meme, of course. In this video from ET Canada, the hosts say that some people are saying that Celine looks less-than-impressed. But, she made her driver stop, and then was very kind to Frieda, so no matter what Celine thought of Freidas singing, she was clearly appreciative of the gesture.
Heres a photo of Celine in that outfit, which is from Moncler:
At first glance, it reminded me of the (beautiful) crocheted blankets that a relative used to make, and I thought that the coat was actually crocheted in a similar style. Id wear that, but not the leggings. Thats too much pattern for me. Theres also a headpiece that goes with the outfit. Celine could have totally pulled it off, as shes a fan of statement headpieces.

Celine Dion has kicked off her world tour, and is giving interviews to promote her new album which out in November. I love so much of what Celine says about being comfortable in her skin and confident. Monday, I wrote about the three new songs from Courage that she released. Celine visited the Today Show to talk about new beginnings:
Celine Dion is getting ready to release her first English album since the death of her husband and embark on a tour, but the singer said dating is the one thing she?s not ready to do yet.
?I dont date. Im not ready to date,? Dion, 51, told TODAYs Sheinelle Jones in an exclusive interview that aired Wednesday. ?Im very lucky and happy to have so many people in my surrounding to make me ? they make me laugh.?
One of the most moving parts of the interview is when Celine talks about the last text message that she got from Rene:
He called me before a show and give me a little message: I love you, she said. And when I came home that night, it was very, very late And I didnt want to come and wake him up to give him a kiss, to wake him up and then he cant find sleep again. And the next morning, he was gone.
So, we talked before. And he sent me a text message. So we said goodbye.
Dion said she saved the message and still looks at it.
But I am at peace, because I know that he doesnt suffer, she said. And I know that, right now, the courage that I have, he has given it to me all my life.
While Dion deeply feels Anglil?s presence in everything that she does, she said she misses having a partner.
?I miss to be touched. I miss to be hugged. I missed to be told, ?Youre beautiful,?? Dion said. ?I miss what a boyfriend and I miss what a husband would do.?
So, although she isnt ready to date just yet, she isnt ruling it out for the future. In fact, when it comes to romance, she isnt ruling anything out ? including the possibility of walking down the aisle again.
I keep my soul and my heart open, she said when asked about that. Because I am so much (about) love, you know ? with my fans and my children and my family. And I feel that love, and it keeps me going. But love, love, love, love, love ? the true love, the romance, the romantic love ? is not present. But its OK.

Im so glad for Celine that she has that text message from Rene. Even though we often know how certain people in our lives feel about us, when they are gone, its wonderful to have those concrete reminders. I have old voicemails saved because they are from people who are important to me, and though Ive not listened to them lately, Im happy to know that they are there, so that I can always hear a persons voice if I need to. (In my case, the people are alive, but I dont get to see them very often.)
I can also appreciate that Celine doesnt want to date right now because of how deeply she loved (and loves) Rene. At the same time, it absolutely makes sense that shed miss having a partner, and experiencing the gifts of that kind of relationship, like being held and called beautiful, and having that that loving presence in her life. Its great that shes open to falling in love again, but rather than focus on that is celebrating and enjoying the relationships that she does have: with her sons, other family, friends, and her fans. Her outlook is fantastic, and I bet shes going to have a great time on tour.

In April, Celine Dion announced her Courage World Tour, which kicked off Wednesday in Quebec City. To celebrate, Celine released three new songs: Imperfections, Lying Down and Courage. You can listen to all three below. Im excited to hear the entire album when Courage is released on November 15. These are on-brand for Celine: uplifting songs about love, and ballads that shes known for. After a long couple of days, ?Lying Down? and ?Courage? made me a bit weepy (though I?ll cry at the opening of an envelope). ?Imperfections? is in the vein of the ?encouraging love song.? ?Courage? is definitely a conversation with Rene, and ?Lying Down? is all about self-empowerment and getting away from a toxic relationship, which is very much in keeping with Celine?s recent comments about self-confidence and assertiveness.
CNN notes that this tour will be the first that Celine has embarked on without the support of her husband, Ren, who passed away three years ago. Celine discussed why she named the album Courage, and Rens death factored into her choice:
She explained why she chose Courage.
We all go through a lot of things in life, Dion said. Whether its losing someone, whether its a sickness, something we have to fight, something that life imposes on us.
And I think I went through a lot. Life had given me the tools to find my inner strength, in a way, to find courage to keep going.
When I lost Ren, he wanted me back on stage, she added. He wanted to make sure I was still practicing my passion, and I wanted to prove to him that Im fine. Were fine, were going to be OK. I got this.

I remember Celine telling someone (Oprah, I think) years ago that Ren communicated with her during her show via her earpiece, and shed rub the side of her nose to indicate that shed heard him. She said something to Oprah about how people must have thought it was strange that she was constantly touching her nose. Given how deeply entwined her personal and professional lives are, and that Ren was central to both of them, Im not surprised to hear that he wanted her to keep performing and that thats what shes been doing, both with her Vegas residency and now her tour. I dont think Im going to be able to see her, but Im ready for the stories, and of course, more of her fabulous fashion on stage and off. Celine has been talking a lot about being empowered and being the boss, so Im looking forward to how that comes through when shes front and center, performing.

Celine Dion has been having a hot girl summer: she?s been sporting fun hair styles, cavorting around Paris in beautiful clothes, and giving away some of her 5,000 pairs of shoes to fans. Celine is also prepping for her world tour. Given her latest fashion, it?s no surprise that she told Allure that taking the time to do her hair and put on a great outfit and makeup is a confidence-booster:
When I was young and having problems with my teeth, very, very skinny, not feeling pretty, and being bullied at school, I would never have thought that L?Ore?al Paris would one day ask me, at 51 years old, to become an ambassador, Dion tells Allure. And while fans may see it as a natural or even long-overdue fit, she sees it differently: It?s a miracle.
No matter how shes felt about her appearance, Dion has always found strength in other deep aspects of her life. Singing was a way for me to express myself, to feel supported and not judged. Over the last couple of years, I feel like I?ve grown strong and happy through dance, through friendship, through motherhood. It?s inside out, she says. However, she has also learned to harness elements of beauty to build on the confidence music and relationships have given her, adding, But the things we put on ourselves: the cream, the hair color, the conditioner, the nails, the makeup, a good outfit ? it changes my demeanor.
Today, nearly four decades after starting her career as a recording artist, she says, I?ve never felt as beautiful, or so in charge. When you do feel in charge, it gives you an extra voice. Even though I still use my voice for singing, I now have a little [extra] voice for raising my children, for making decisions. I even have a new album coming out.

I love interviews with Celine because she seems to be loving her life right now. It?s great to read about a woman who is confident and who is claiming her power (or, her ?voice,? as Celine puts it here). She is a perfect global ambassador for L?Oreal Paris. I agree with her about how great hair, clothes, and makeup can give you a bit of a boost: I notice that on days when I feel good about what I?m wearing and how my hair is behaving, I feel better overall. (I don?t usually wear makeup.) The past several weeks have been a bit bonkers in my neck of the woods, so on Saturday, I went and got a pedicure, and seeing my bubblegum-pink toenails instantly made me happier and I felt a tad more self-assured and optimistic. Celine is a bit more than a decade older, and I hope that when I?m 51, I?ll feel similarly settled in who I am and as confident as she seems to be.

These are some photos of Celine Dion with her gentleman friend Pepe Munoz during the most recent Paris Fashion Week. I wondered, weeks ago, if Pepe would be there and look, there he was. Pepe has been on Celine?s arm more and more lately, and she tried to explain their relationship several months ago. No one knows if they?re lovers or BFFs. Well, Page Six has some answers. Sort of. According to Page Six?s sources, Pepe is definitely gay, but he and Celine have a weird sort of relationship where he?s super-controlling? It?s like Will & Grace, but DARK.
Cline Dion?s inner circle fears that her ?best pal,? backup dancer Pepe Muoz, has too much influence over the singer since her husband, Ren Anglil, passed away in 2016.
?Pepe is like her boy toy who is really trying to take over. He?s isolating her and people are feeling it. She?s in love with this guy and listens to everything he?s saying. People go to him when they have questions. He?s fully taken over. The only people around her now [are] Pepe, the hairdresser and the stylist,? one source told Page Six.
Multiple sources told us Pepe ? who?s also Dion?s creative director ? helped orchestrate the exit of some of Dion?s senior team, including former stylist Law Roach. Another source, who is close to the star, says it?s the ?farthest from the truth.?
?He?s an amazing inspiration for her. He?s inspiring her to take risks. It?s not a bad thing. He?s not managing her. People change their teams. She?s smart and at the helm of her career. She?s calling the shots now,? the insider said.
?It?s crazy. She knows he?s gay and is accepting of it. She needs someone close to her and she fell in love. He?s turned into a Ren type,? the first source said Another insider added, ?People are freaked out by it. He has this clique that he keeps very small. It?s Cline, himself, a hair person and the stylist. That?s the group ? even management goes to him when they need something.?

But old habits die hard Celine probably feels most comfortable when she?s in a familiar pattern of being ?managed? by a man. I don?t know, that?s just my armchair diagnosis for what?s happening. And at this point, what?s so important in her life that she needs anyone else besides Pepe, the hairdresser and the stylist??

If it?s summer in the Northern Hemisphere, we can count on three things: 1. Celine Dion is going to go to Paris; she?s going to be rocking a new hair style; and she is going to wear an eclectic mix of fashion. A couple of weeks ago, Kaiser wrote the first installment of this year?s Celine Goes to Paris in the Summer, ?Where is Pepe??
Continuing a summer trend from last year, Celine lightened her hair; she also cut it into this really cute shoulder-length bob! I always want to grow my hair out, but every summer I chop it off because the heat and humidity make it unbearable, so am Team Celine here. I love the light blonde color and the cut on her; both say ?easy-to-manage, fun, summery ?do.? I think sometimes people end up going too blonde when they lighten their hair, but this shade looks great on Celine. It looks even better in some of the other photos.
In one of the photos of Celine in this outfit, you can?t see the entire shirt, only the ?I HEART Paris.? I think the photographer took it that way on purpose. The ?Hilton? kind of kills it for me. GFY says that the shirt is Vetements. I think the skirt and shoes are cute, but the blazer-poncho is distracting me because I?m confused by it. At first, looking at one of Getty?s images, I thought that she was wearing a regular blazer and had her left arm in the [too-long] sleeve, but not her right arm (for some reason). Then I realized that the way the blazer was draped over her right arm made that impossible. GFY mentions that it?s a poncho, but I still don?t like it because blazers or ponchos should never look confusing.
One thing that makes this photo fun is that she?s wearing a recreation of the Heart of the Ocean necklace that Rose wore in Titanic, also made by Vetements. (I love that the Yahoo! article frames this as the ?I love Paris Hilton? shirt ?accessoriz[ing]? the necklace, not the other way around.)
Celine seems to be into feathers at the moment; she wore this long-sleeved feathery white Valentino dress with abstract multicolor accents last week to the Valentino show in Paris. I actually think this is cute; the feathers make it seem light and summery, but I question the long sleeves and turtleneck; isn?t Paris in the middle of a heatwave, too? I also love her gold clutch and silver heels.
There are also photos of Celine performing on July 5 in London in this puffed-sleeve sparkly blue jumpsuit. I doubt that too many people could pull off this color without looking ridiculous; Celine just looks like she?s having a ton of fun. My first thought when I saw it was that she looked like she was wearing an outfit that had been made to match the shade of blue, sparkly Crest toothpaste. Or the Titanic necklace.
People should wear what they love and what makes them comfortable; I love that Celine seems to always enjoy whatever she?s wearing. She?s often photographed smiling and looking relaxed when she?s dressed up, rather than standing stiff as a poker or adjusting her outfits. I always love seeing pictures of Celine in Paris in particular, because she appears to be having a great time and living her best life.

This past January, Celine Dion was doing a fashion tour through Paris, going to fashion shows, going shopping, going out to dinner, all of it with lots of posing for the paparazzi. The whole trip, Celine was accompanied by her ?best friend? Pepe Munoz. Celine was asked questions about her relationship with Pepe, who is beautiful, tall, and eleven years younger than Celine. Celine said she was ?single,? but said she and Pepe were ?friends, best friendsOf course we hug and hold hands and go out, so people see that. I mean, he?s a gentleman. He?s giving me his hand to go out.? But she said Pepe is not THE man in her life. I chose to believe that Pepe and Celine were banging and good for her, if true. Of course there were other theories.
Anyway, Celine is back in Paris for another round of shopping, lunching, posing and iconic street style moments. These are photos of Celine this week, showing off her looks to the paparazzi outside her hotel. My question: WHERE IS PEPE? I cannot find Pepe in any of these photos!! Did Pepe have something else to do? Are they no longer BFFs? Did his contract end? Did Pepe get another ?backup dancer? job? Or is Pepe back at the hotel, waiting for Celine to come home so they can take a bubble bath together?
Also: is Celine literally wearing a pair of jeans with two different ?leg? styles? One leg is wide and one leg is fitted, and she?s rolled out the fitted side. And she paired it with a feathered tube top. PEPE COME BACK AND HELP YOUR GIRL GET DRESSED.
