Lauren Conrad is officially a novelist. The former "Hills" star just released her debut novel, "L.A. Candy," to the masses, but if the plot sounds much like her own life, Conrad assures her fans out there that this is a work of pure fiction.
"I didn't take anything specifically that happened to me. The only thing that I did was ... it was a way to show not necessarily me but just the other side of being on a show like ours," Conrad told MTV News. "For everyone that's done it I think you see one side and you don't see the other. It's kind of an interesting story to tell."
The plot revolves around a girl named Jane Roberts who moves to Hollywood and eventually gets her own reality show, which bears the same name as the book. She ends up working at an events company and it features all of the ups and downs of Jane's personal and professional lives.
So, if you're still not convinced that it's all made up — or you're one of the readers trying to decipher which characters are based on her friends from "The Hills" — think again. Conrad insists these are characters she concocted on her own.
"I think people already think some of the characters are based on certain characters, but the thing is, I think everyone has certain people in their life," she said. "Everyone has someone they really don't get along with. Everyone has a best friend. They have their parents. They have all these different people in their life and so does this character [Jane] and they all represent different people who change you."

Last night, Jennifer Aniston and Bradley Cooper were spotted exiting a restaurant in New York, having most likely enjoyed a nice dinner together at the Italian joint Il Cantinori. People is describing the dinner as ?cozy? and the setting as ?romantic?. As far as confirmed dates that we have actually proof of, I think this might be Jennifer?s first date since she and John Mayer broke up in March.
The rumors about Jennifer and Bradley started back in May, when Page Six reported that the two He?s Just Not That Into You co-stars were spotted laughing, talking and flirting at a premiere. The rumors percolated for a few days before Bradley denied they were dating, saying that he?d only met Jennifer something like ?three times?.
Let the rumors resume! Several weeks after Jennifer Aniston and Bradley Cooper reportedly flirted at a party for her movie Management, the pair enjoyed a cozy late-night dinner at the romantic Italian restaurant Il Cantinori in Manhattan on Thursday.
“It was a date,” says a source. “She is taking it slow. She is obviously looking for love, but is not about to rush into anything.”
When the two met up earlier this spring, pals of both dismissed romance rumors. “I am single,” Cooper, 34, the star of the box-office smash The Hangover, recently told PEOPLE, saying that he found the rumors linking himself to Aniston “flattering.”
He added that he’s looking “for humor, great personality, intelligence, inner and outer beauty” in a woman. The one must? “She has to like my dogs [Samson and Charlotte]. My dogs and I come in a package.”
That shouldn’t be a problem for Aniston, 40, a canine lover with two dogs of her own, Norman and Dolly. The actress spent most of the spring shooting the romantic comedy The Baster in New York, while also getting past her March split with John Mayer.
“Jen is moving on with her life like she always does,” says a source. “She seems happy.”

They do have a lot in common - good hair, dogs, and now Italian food. Another weird coincidence is that Jennifer (Aniston) has an ex-husband named Bradley (Pitt) and Bradley (Cooper) has an ex-wife named Jennifer (Esposito). If one of Cooper?s dogs was named Norman, they would definitely have to get married. As it is, how cute is it that one of Bradley?s dogs is named Charlotte? That?s such a sweet name for a dog, but it?s so girly. I wonder if Bradley named her or if she was named but some long-gone ex-girlfriend.

Oh, another Gisele Bundchen is pregnant rumor. Sources tell PEOPLE that Gisele is “ecstatic” about her pregnancy. She’s supposedly due next year. The rumors this time might be true, however. Gisele was in Brazil over the weekend with a baby bump. That or she came from an amazing buffet.
“Gisele will be an excellent mother,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She’s always wanted kids.” Reps for Bndchen reached by PEOPLE for confirmation refused to comment.
This is probably the tenth time Gisele Bundchen is rumored to be pregnant so I’m not going to believe this until that baby slithers out of her womb genetically perfect. You’ll know she’ll have given birth because harps will start playing and angels will sing. By the time the kid turns 10, they’ll either already be throwing 60 yard touchdown passes or walking the runway in eight inch heels like a pro.

How long will it take for Cooper to find out Aniston is boring as all hell. There have been rumors swirling around Gisele Bundchen?s womb for months, and now People is confirming her pregnancy. Hm… looks like Tom Brady was lying when he denied it a few weeks ago. According to People?s sources, Gisele is due ?early next year?. Let me do my math? ?early? in my mind means she?s due in January or early February. Which, backtracking nine months mean that she probably got pregnant sometime in April, which means she probably got pregnant within two months of being married to Tom Brady. It also means she?s probably at most at the end of her first trimester. This will be the first child for Gisele, and the second for Tom Brady, who has a son with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.
Gisele Bundchen is expecting and “ecstatic,” sources tell PEOPLE. She is due early next year.
Speculation has grown since pictures showing the supermodel in Brazil this week surfaced showing what seems to be a perceptible bump. Bndchen and New England Patriots quarterback husband Tom Brady were married twice this Spring ? first in a ceremony in Los Angeles Feb. 26, then exchanging vows before friends in early April at Bndchen’s Costa Rica home.
“Gisele will be an excellent mother,” a source tells PEOPLE. “She’s always wanted kids.” Reps for Bndchen reached by PEOPLE for confirmation refused to comment.
?Family is everything,” Bndchen, who turns 29 next month, told PEOPLE last month. “I think family is the base to everything. I think that is one of the things I?m most grateful for. I have a lot to be grateful for but I think that’s definitely number one.?
Another source close to the couple says, “You know Gisele and Tom are just enjoying themselves, being married and just doing their thing … Gisele has been talking about it with friends. She says she’s ready for a family.”
This is her first child; Brady has a son, John, with ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan.

Yeah, I?m not surprised that Gisele is pregnant, or that she got knocked up right away. She strikes me as that kind of woman, and she probably will be an utterly devoted mother. This is some good news for Gisele, publicity-wise. Earlier this week, a rep for Vanity Fair made a bad ?joke? about how Gisele is losing her looks, all coming from recent evidence that Gisele?s face on the cover of a magazine equals really low sales. In Touch Weekly got called out this week. It was a pretty good one too. They?re running a story about how LeAnn Rimes is preparing to divorce her husband Dean Sheremet and run off with still-married Eddie Cibrian. According to that report, LeAnn had basically told husband Dean to pack his bags and Dean is ?completely distraught and heartbroken.? Here?s the original report:

?She looked really pretty, and she was smiling a lot,? says fan Miranda Montgomery, who was at the convention center for the CMA Music Festival.
But 20 miles away at their home in Franklin, Tenn., LeAnn?s husband, dancer Dean Sheremet, was not in a good mood at all.
According to an insider close to the couple, LeAnn, 26, has told him that she is ready to file for divorce ? and that she?s leaving him in the hopes of being with her married TV movie co-star Eddie Cibrian.

Not so much, according to LeAnn?s spokesperson, Rhett Usry. Usry told E! that ?Contrary to any tabloid rumors, LeAnn is not seeking a divorce.? Of course not. Why would she seek a divorce when Dean knows what?s up? I really, really believe that LeAnn and Dean have an open marriage that involves extracurricular men? for both of them. The problem seems to be the public?s expectations of this woman who once had a sickly-sweet, wholesome image. What will happen when that vanilla image gets supplanted by the image of a sex-starved wife in an open marriage with her gay best friend, homewrecking her way to sexual pleasure? It certainly makes her more interesting, at least.

Here’s a nice followup to the Leighton Meester sex tape post. By nice, I mean not Tori Spelling in a see-through bikini. It’s Kristen Bell swimming in Hawaii with her douchey boyfriend Dax Shepard.
Although, these pictures are not as sexy as they could be. Yea she’s in a bikini, but because she’s blonde, it looks like she has no eyebrows when she’s in the water. If she was swimming towards you and you only saw the top 1/3 of her head, you’d think you were being chased by a sea monster.

Celebhotline.com made the deal and the website is already up with screen caps. It looks like it’s really Leighton Meester.

Singer Ricky Martin, 37, is quietly raising twin boys born through a surrogate. Little Valetino and Matteo are about ten months old and Ricky told People last year that he loves being a father and caring for his infant sons. He doesn’t have a nanny or help with the twins, and just has a personal assistant so that he can fully devote himself to being a father. Martin sounds like he doesn’t want to miss a moment with his sons and said that “everything they do, from smiling to crying, feels like a blessing.” It’s unknown whether he has a partner of either gender.
When the news came out that Martin was raising children presumably as a single father he received some criticism from a Catholic Cardinal from Honduras who claimed that “You can?t just buy or rent life.” There was also continued speculation over Martin’s orientation, which he didn’t address while introducing his sons last December. His personal life is his own business and if he wants to keep it private you can’t blame him. He sounds like a loving, devoted dad to his sons and that’s all that matters. No one bashes female celebrities for adopting or having children as single parents. It just doesn’t seem fair to target a male for wanting to raise children and acting like his orientation should be any kind of issue.
Martin supposedly sort-of admitted he’s bisexual in a recent Spanish-language interview in a TV magazine from his native Puerto Rico, saying his “heart could belong to a man or a woman”:

Leighton Meester is a 23 year-old actress who currently stars on “Gossip Girl.” She tends to keep a low profile and we don’t hear much about her, although she made some headlines last year when she admitted that she was born in a jail. Her mother was serving time in a state prison in Texas for smuggling marijuana when she gave birth. She was released 16 months later and went on to raise Leighton.
Meester also has a new album coming out later this year in the “electro-pop” genre. She’s not bad, but she’s not exceptional, either. Her record deal with Universal Republic surely has more to do with her celebrity status than her talent.
TMZ is reporting that Meester’s profile may be elevated soon by the lesser-celebrities’ jagged route to fame - a sex tape:

We’ve learned a Meester tape is being shopped around town. It was shot a few years back, and shows Leighton in mostly innocuous though nude scenes — with several big exceptions … one involving her very talented feet.
We’re told a company called celebhotline.com is negotiating for the video. The company’s spokesperson, Kevin Blatt told us, “We’ve seen the tape and we’re hoping to close the deal.”
We contacted Leighton’s rep but so far … no comment.

TMZ is usually right about these type of stories and I would bet that a sex tape does exist. If it gets out it could work to Meester’s advantage. I hate to say that, because I know I would be mortified in that position, but look at Paris Hilton and Kim Kardashian. Both of them rocketed to fame after their sex tapes were released. They each dealt with it, moved on, and continued showing up to every event with lots of fake hair and plenty of makeup as if nothing was wrong. Meester could get plenty of publicity for her music venture with this tape. She’ll fight it publicly and maybe she’ll sue, and it will get released or it won’t. If she can get over the shame we’ll all be talking about her enough for her to make a pile of money and get her face in the tabloids for a few weeks.
I know that’s a really cynical stance to take and that it’s not fair to compare anyone to Kardashian or Hilton. If there is a tape and it was taken without Meester’s permission to distribute it she should of course sue and it will hopefully be blocked. This is just yet another example of why you should keep sexy times undocumented.

Celebrities branch out in plenty of venues in which they’re not particularly qualified: fashion, perfume, music, and writing thinly-veiled biographical fiction and unoriginal cookbooks to name a few. You slap a celebrity’s name on something and people will buy it.
Jennifer Love Hewitt, who most recently pressured her new boyfriend to propose by saying during a radio show “By this time next year, if we?re not planning something, then there?s a situation,” is writing a self help relationship book for women.
She’s been romanced by the likes of John Mayer and Carson Daly, engaged to actor Ross McCall, and is currently hot and heavy with her Ghost Whisperer costar Jamie Kennedy. Love is, after all, her middle name.
With plenty of dating experience under her belt, Jennifer Love Hewitt has decided to write a book, titled The Day I Shot Cupid, addressing romantic relationships that will include everything from tips on text-flirting and how to start over after a breakup.
“I thought it was time to share the real story of what I’ve learned navigating the dating waters.” Hewitt says in a statement from Voice publishers. “Hopefully, in addition to having a good laugh, women reading this will learn from some of my hard lessons.”
The book, which is a first for the actress, will be available in March 2010.

I like Jennifer Love Hewitt and honestly wish her well in all her ventures, but she’s dating dingbat Jamie Kennedy for God’s sake. How is she going to market this book? To her credit, she says she’s sharing the difficult things she’s learned along the way. It’s probably more of a biography with a dating angle, and she has a lot of fans who will buy the book for her personal stories. If Jordan/Katie Price can make a mint selling multiple biographies about her brief life, than so can someone likable and semi-normal like Hewitt. We’ll have to see if she’s still with Kennedy by the time this book is out, but if they do break up at least she’ll have some good tidbits to add. Maybe she’ll hook up with someone who isn’t as much of a doofus, although Kennedy does seem to treat her well. He’s still sticking around after she told him on a radio show he better propose by next year.

Miley Cyrus is keeping busy in Savannah, Georgia, where she's filming her latest movie, "The Last Song," based on the upcoming Nicholas Sparks book. Aside from hanging with Nick Jonas and shooting the film, earlier this week, she hit up a local seafood restaurant to play a secret mini-concert.
"She had a hoodie on," recalled Ray Rogers, who runs StingRay's restaurant on Tybee Island, where Miley performed. "She sat at a table. She was with a girlfriend. She ordered snow crabs and cheese sticks. One of the tables next to her offered to buy them food. They decided to leave, and they walked by the music and went to the parking lot. She turned around and went back up to the stage."
For the surprise performance, Miley played two tunes: the Tim McGraw and Faith Hill duet "It's Your Love" and an original song so new that Miley referred to her notes for the lyrics.
"The place started filling up with people standing and watching," Rogers said. "She played two songs to a standing ovation and a screaming crowd. They couldn't have been any happier that she did this out of the kindness of her heart."
Cyrus is also getting headlines while she's down in Georgia for some steamy photos that emerged of her kissing "Last Song" co-star Liam Hemsworth. "I got a hot boy. I can't say that too many times, but he is attractive," Miley said of Liam. "Not bad to look at for the summer."
