And her latest project ?Battleship? was nothing short of a challenge, though she?s glad she took on the role.
Ri-Ri told press she loved her character Raikes? uniform. "It's really cool, it's easy. You don't have to think about what you want to put on, or how cute you look. She doesn't like boys. She doesn't like girls either. She's just about her weapons and her work."
As for her preparation, the ?Take A Bow? songstress shared, "We worked with real military people, you know, people in the Navy, people who have fought in Iraq before. They pretty much came and drilled me. This one man, Donald, he pretty much drilled me, yelled at me, cursed me, 'Ow!' Made me do pushups. Everything. Like, my best friend was there the second time we worked together, and I said to her, 'OK, I'm about to do acting class, but you're going to want to kill this man, so just stay in the bedroom. Don't listen to anything he's saying to me right now, just don't kill him, Melissa, just stay in the bedroom.'?

The ?Curious Case of Benjamin Button? stud looked to be in good spirits as he hopped out of the chopper on the Polo field in Richmond which is just around the corner from his digs.

An insider tells Us that Paula Abdul is nuts. They say Paula has a list of requests every assistant that works for her must abide by. These include:
1. Each assistant must carry and use a tape recorder at all times “because she doesn’t trust her own conversations.”
2. “She also makes them check the TiVo for any mention of her and put it on a DVD.”
3. Abdul team members should also prepare to go through her email — and respond to family and friends as the star herself.

It must be nice to be rich and hire someone to kiss your ass 24/7. On the other hand, it must suck to be that self-obsessed and lazy that you need other people to give you affirmations. Kristen Stewart covers the upcoming issue of W magazine where she trades in her pale vampire pout for a pale 60?s pout. In the interview, she opens up about the final scenes of Twilight; the wedding and the honeymoon.
“I?d been anticipating that end-of-Bella moment. I was going, Oh, my God — I wonder how I?m going to feel,” Stewart said. “And the last scene of the shoot was at the wedding. Every single character was there on set. At the end of that day, I was kind of whacked. And so I never really had that moment then. Instead, it happened later.
“We needed to film one more sort of honeymoon scene and we went to the Virgin Islands. After that scene, my true final scene, I felt like I could shoot up into the night sky and every pore of my body would shoot light. I felt lighter than I?ve ever felt in my life.”
It was like a weight had been lifted from her body. Years of hard work filming in exotic locales while assistants waited on her hand and foot had finally come to an end. Must have been grueling.

The internet, particularly in the age of Wikileaks, has worked an enormous amount of damage upon the “Church” of Scientology, and many of us wonder why certain celebrities (i.e., Tom Cruise, John Travolta, and their wives) choose to stay. Naturally, part of the problem is that the cult has gathered far too many “damaging” secrets through its extensive auditing process of the celebrities in question, and they worry that their careers would be sabotages if this information should (and it would) be leaked by the CO$. Also, I figure that these celebs must have preemptively decided to turn a blind eye to any and all injustices that have been revealed by former members (if you’re not familiar, Ex-Scientology Kids is a great place to start). They just figure that things are great for them, so why rock the proverbial boat? Katie Holmes, especially, is not about to rock that boat. Not only would doing so endanger her astronomical clothing budget, but she’s at least smart enough to see what happened to Nicole after she and Tom divorced. After a number of years of marriage, Nicole resisted Scientology and, as a suppressive person, the church would never allow Nicole to be near her adoptive children again. When was the last time that you saw Nicole photographed with either Connor or Isabella? Exactly.
This week’s issue of In Touch magazine reveals that Katie’s life is one of constant surveillance and control from spies in the CO$. Most of the information comes from a new book, Inside Scientology: The Story of America’s Most Secretive Religion, by Janet Reitman. While the stuff about unpaid labor and Katie’s “wife audition” is nothing new, there’s an interesting claim that Katie and Tom are largely ignorant of the scheme that’s been put in place to keep them line. Would you welcome the CO$ into your lives and even into your bedroom? It seems that the Cruises have done just that:
When Katie Holmes married Tom Cruise in 2006, it almost seemed like a fairy tale come true, from the custom-made gown to the man of her dreams waiting at the altar. But five years later, a new book suggests that the reality of her life is much different than she could have ever imagined. According to the book, Tom’s involvement with Scientology has ensnared his family in a weird world of spying, control, and some claim, even unpaid labor.
And now, these allegations are being exposed in a new book, Inside Scientology, by Janet Reitman. “Church leaders see Tom as a cash cow,” Reitman tells In Touch. So, she says, they do everything possible to ensure that he and Katie never leave the church — and never spill its secrets.
From its very beginnings, Reitman says, Tom and Katie’s relationship has been carefully engineered by Scientologists, although the couple’s rep denies the claims. When Tom and Nicole Kidman divorced, Reitman writes, curch staffers began a campaign to find him a new wife who could attract younger would-be Scientologists. “My source Marc Headly saw viedo tryouts of a number of actresses who were being auditioned to be an appropriate girlfriend for Tom,” Reitman reveals. He claimed several actresses were interviewed — but Katie was the only one who wanted Tom.
According to the book, Katie, 32, has played the part of a dutiful wife ever since. And she has to, since Scientology handlers reportedly watch her every move. “Any conversation you’d have with the star, anything you did with him, what the star read, watched, who he talked to, what he was hearing,” all would be reported to the church, former Scientology official Karen Pressley tells Reitman, meaning no aspect of Tom and Katie’s life is secret, and every aspect must be in line with Scientology rules.
The payoff? The book claims that Tom, 49, gets to use unpaid Scientology members as personal servants for him, Katie and their daughter, Suri, 5. Over the years, Reitman writes, he has had church staffers remodel his condo, build tennis courts for him, landscape his property nad more — without paying a penny. In short, the book suggest Katie’s entire life is a Scientology production, whether she realizes it or not. As former Scientologist Nancy Many tells Reitman, Tom and Katie “are completely ignorant of the strategy that has been put in place to hook and control them.” If that’s true, will the book finally open their eyes?

I haven’t read this book yet, but it’s on my Kindle wish list, so it’ll happen at some point. One book that I will heartily recommend on the same topic is My Billion Year Contract: Memoir of a Former Scientologist by former CO$ slave Nancy Many. If you read the Amazon synopsis and reviews, it’s clear that many other former Scientologists have found support and encouragement from the book by realizing that they’re not alone in their struggles to regain some sense of personal identity after breaking free from the cult. For “civilians” who choose to leave, the CO$ turns them loose without anything — no money, no friends, no family — and often with a large debt hanging over their heads for the so-called “free” audits they received while serving the church as employees.
Meanwhile, Reitman’s book will undoubtedly open some new sets of eyes even though, at this point, it’s almost common knowledge that Katie and Tom only employ fellow Scientologists in their household. Katie’s assistants? Scientologists. The couple’s bodyguards? Scientologists.

Kristen Stewart is the cover girl for the September ?Fashion Issue? of W Magazine. People are already complaining about the amount of Photoshop that went into K-Stew?s pictorial, but I think it?s only aggressively ?Shopped in one photo. Kristen, for all of her real or perceived faults, it generally a great model in fashion photo shoots. I love the vibe of this one - 1960s sex kitten meets Valley of the Dolls druggie. Kristen should consider big hair and dark eye makeup for her red carpet looks, because it really works on her. The full W Mag interview (conducted by Lynn Hirschberg) is here, and here are some highlights:
Kristen on her start as a child actor: ?It?s weird, because I would be the last person in my school to be in plays, but I was forced to sing a song in a school thing. I sang a dreidl song, which is funny for me. I?ve never celebrated Hanukkah?it wasn?t in my upbringing, but it was one of those deals where everybody has to pick a song or participate somehow in the chorus. It wasn?t the normal dreidl song; I can?t really remember the words, but it was a more serious dreidl song. The dreidl was huge, it was really honored. And that?s how I met my agent, who was in the audience. I was eight. I was nine when I did my first movie, The Safety of Objects.?
She was never cutesy: ?I did two commercials, one for Porsche, but I was definitely not the type of child one would cast in a commercial or any TV that you?d typically go out for as a young kid. I wasn?t the type of kid who would be in stuff that kids watch. I wasn?t cutesy.?
Working with David Fincher in Panic Room: ?I didn?t realize that 80 takes wasn?t normal. But it?s funny: Some of my proudest moments from film sets are in Panic Room. My character had seizures. Just being able to say, I was 10 years old and I broke all the blood vessels in my eye on that take, is cool. It was fun.?
On her ?unusual tomboy quality?: ?I have brothers, and that so-called boyish quality was something that I was deathly self-conscious about when I was younger. I was, like, No, I?m a girl. Actually, I?m still embarrassed to say that.?
On auditioning for Twilight: ?I don?t really know what to say. I just knew I wanted to work. And I did. I was working when I read the script for Twilight. I read the script before I read the book. I actually did the audition before reading the book, which was kind of crazy. Obviously, I tore all four books apart over the course of three years, but initially I had no idea that Twilight was such a big deal.
She likes vampires: ?I f-cking love me a vampire [Laughs]. I was 17 when I read Twilight, and at the time it was so perfect for me. The script was about young kids who think they can handle stuff that they just can?t. And they?re going to do it anyway. Because, why not? Just torture yourself. I relate to that. Vampires are a little dangerous?and we girls like to test ourselves.?
On the Breaking Dawn wedding: ?Awesome. This was my first wedding. It was insane. And odd. The wedding dress experience was a huge deal. I tried on one version of the dress, and it was like tweak and tweak and alter and tweak and change, and then it?s done. BFD dress. Huge deal. [The wedding] was major. The last Twilight book is filled with BFDs, things that people have been waiting for, for so long. For me, it was ridiculously dramatic: I get married, give birth, the baby has an incredibly accelerated growth rate we?re all very concerned about, and I say goodbye to my dad for the last time ever. It was all big?I could never go, Whew, I?m losing this character.?

It?s a funny thing: You want so badly for people to see what you do?you?re proud of it?and I like the effect that movies have on people. But the attention can also make me uncomfortable. In certain situations, people say to me, ?C?mon, what?s wrong with you?? I apologize. I love what I?m doing, but I?m a little uncomfortable.?
On watching her own movies: ?It?s not like I sit around watching my movies again and again, but I?ve never quite believed actors when they say they don?t watch themselves. I hear them going around the block to make excuses for why they don?t watch their work. It?s bullsh-t. Sorry, guys?I know you watch your stuff. [When I watch my stuff] I get embarrassed. It?s weird, too: I?m 10 years old in Panic Room, and that?s a version of myself that?s pretty far away, but it doesn?t feel that far away to me. Occasionally my dad will flip the TV on, and it?s cool to look at some movie that I?m in for one second. And then, ?Dude, off. Now. Like, cut it out.??

I think this is one of Kristen?s better interviews. I like that Lynn H. didn?t ask a million questions about what it?s like for Kristen to be so famous, and we didn?t have to hear Kristen whine about how she can?t go to the mall. What I find most interesting is that Kristen consistently talks about her career ambitions, and how she loves to work. More work for her means more promotional duties, meaning more interviews and appearances in which she?s going to have fall back into her affected emo shtick, and she’s going to be slumped over, biting her lip and glowering at people. Back when Jesse James and Kat Von D were just dating, circa fall of last year, there were often rumors about Kat spending time with other dudes. There were two rumors in particular that I found interesting - Kat with Nikki Sixx, and Kat with Bam Margera. She was spotted hanging out with both of them, and apparently both are former boyfriends too. Kat?s ex-husband, Oliver Peck, even went to the tabloids to talk about the Kat he knew - a superficial narcissist who screwed over friends and screwed around on him. So, basically, I wouldn?t be surprised if Kat cheated on Jesse James, despite the stories that Jesse was the cheater. I think both of them would and could easily have had affairs. This week?s Star Magazine claims that it was Kat, though - and that Jesse dumped her because she was boning Bam.
Star has learned that Jesse James broke off his engagement to Kat Von D after accusing her of cheating on him.
?Jesse believed Kat had been getting it on with her longtime friend Bam Margera, and they had a huge blowup over it,? an insider tells Star. ?Given his past history with Sandra, Jesse?s over-the-top jealousy when it came to Kat is almost laughable.?
Trouble was percolating in Jesse and Kat?s relationship almost from the start.
?Jesse lives in Austin, and Kat?s based in LA, where most of her best friends are guys - many of whom she?s been intimate with in the past. There was always a lot of fuel to fire up Jesse?s Jealous nature.?
One of her closest friends is Bam, 31. A few weeks after Ryan Dunn?s death on June 20, ?Bam went over to Kat?s LA home to hang out and talk, and he ended up spending the night. Jesse found out and questioned her about it, and Kat let slip something about how ?Bam just can?t sleep alone.? Jesse hit the roof when he heard that and accused Kat of cheating on him. They were barely hanging by a thread by then.?
The final nail in the coffin came after Jesse and Kat went to a Soundgarden concert on July 22: ?After the show, Jesse wanted to go backstage and meet the band, but Kat refused A mutual friend told Jesse later that Kat had a romantic history with one of the band members - and she didn?t want to be around him with Jesse by her side? They broke up four days after the concert.

Immediately after Jennifer Lopez and Marc Anthony split, Us Weekly published a great cover story all about what down in the last weeks of Jennifer and Marc?s marriage. One of the best stories involved Jennifer?s mom, Guadalupe, emailing Ben Affleck and asking for his advice on what Lopez should do. Us Weekly even claimed that Ben replied to Guadalupe, and after that, there were lots of stories about how Ben and J.Lo (Bennifer 1.0) could and should get back together. Oh, and there was also a story about how Guadalupe always adored Ben, because they were gambling buddies, and how she never warmed to Marc Anthony.
Anyway, some people were like, ?OMG, how rude! I can?t believe J.Lo would even get near Ben Affleck, especially since he?s married to The Dimple Princess!? Because this is high school, and exes can never, ever speak to each other, and if they do speak to each other, it means that they?re boning. Well, according to Star Magazine, Ben?s Dimple Princess is getting ready to cut a bitch over this whole situation:
Jennifer Garner isn?t taking kindly to rumors that her hubby, Ben Affleck, reconnected with his ex Jennifer Lopez - and she?s doing her best to make sure it never happens.
Garner is telling friends she will fight like hell to keep her family intact and J.Lo out of Ben?s life. Garner doesn?t believe that J.Lo and her husband should have anything to talk about now - especially since ?they parted in a very unfriendly manner,? says a source.
Jennifer [Garner] has also told friends that she believes family is the most important factor in her life - and she intends to keep her family together forever. My source adds that Ben and Jennifer are ?still very much together and will always put the welfare of their children first.?

Yes, we know that Jennifer thinks ?family? is the most important thing is life. Nay, THE ONLY important thing in life, and she thinks that every woman has ?no deeper want? than to become a mother. I do believe that Garner is a great mom, and that she loves and adores her family, and her girls and her husband are her top priorities in life. I also believe that Garner sees J.Lo as a threat, probably because Garner not only loves her husband, she KNOWS her husband. Ben Affleck is a dog, and his self-destructive streak runs deep, and there are probably lots of women in his life that Garner is threatened by.
Is there a limit to how much she?ll fight back, though? At some point, after Blake Lively and after Jennifer Lopez and after the gambling (which is still a big problem, allegedly), isn?t Garner just exhausted from dealing with all of his baggage and issues? That?s what I always wonder when I photos of them - why is she holding on to this marriage like Ben?s got the last dong on earth? The answer everyone always gives is ?the kids?. Sure, I?ll buy that she?s invested in the marriage for the kids, but at some point, won?t ?self-respect? and ?I can?t deal with his bullsh-t for one more minute? come into play?
Also: this woman cannot find a flattering casual outfit to save her life.

BUMP-IT. That?s all I could think about when I looked through these photos of the London Cowboys and Aliens premiere. Olivia Wilde is bumping it. Look at her hair! Her hair is not her best asset, but surely, she can come up with better options than either bangs trauma or bump-its.
Once I got past the hair, I did notice her dress, and yes, I can see the side-boob. Olivia wants us to look at the side-boob, which is weird, because she doesn?t have much to look at. I applaud her for being natural and proud, but seeing girls walk a red carpet braless, or without anything containing their puppies, it just makes me angry-jealous. Because I never could do that. The dress is Gucci, by the way. And I dislike it, mostly because I remember this style growing up. Back in the 1980s, every adult woman working in any kind of business setting had a blouse exactly like the top part of this dress. Something semi-sheer, with a gigantic bow/ruffle/faux-scarf thing that just added absurd extra weight to a woman?s neck and chest. Go back and watch 9 to 5 - every woman had this blouse. As a modern look? eh. It?s not right for a summer premiere, but seasonal issues aside, it?s still a pretty fug dress. I?m not a polka dot person, though, so this whole thing is just a flurry of 80s fugness, polka dot fugness, and bump-its.
I will give Olivia credit for two things though - the girl looks great with red lips, and she has a gorgeous profile.

This week’s issue of Star ups the ante on the tabloid’s previous “entitled diva” reports concerning Stephen Moyer’s behavior on the set of “True Blood.” However, the latest rumors are getting far too personal because they concern Moyer’s jealousy of the obscenely steamy sex scenes between his real-life wife, Anna Paquin, and co-star Alexander Skarsgard. Of course, this story could be entirely made-up because it ties in so nicely with the fact that Alex recently split with girlfriend Kate Bosworth. Regardless, Star maintains that the tensions are affecting the hit HBO show (which has just been renewed for a fifth season) to such a degree that Paquin has been forced to run interference:
The steamy nude love scenes between True Blood’s Anna Paquin and Alexander Skarsgard during the show’s fouth season have set pulses racing. But the couple’s chemistry had Stephen Moyer, their costar — and Anna’s real-life spouse — boiling! He flipped out several times, an insider tells Star, because he felt Anna was way too enthusiastic about fooling around with Alex, who is fresh off a split form Kate Bosworth.
“Anna is very secure in her sexuality,” the insider explains. “She threw herself into her love scenes with Alex, and they’re really hot. He was clearly turned on — and Stephen was not amused, to put it mildly.” Things became so tense between the show’s male leads, adds the insider, that creator Alan Ball even jokingly threatened to make them “hug it out”!
Anna, 29, was truly surprised by Stephen’s reaction, the insider says. “I think everyone was caught off guard. There has been nothing but friendship between the three of them until now, and there’s always been lots of sex on the show.”
To soothe her husband of one year, Anna began doing double duty on set. “Between scenes, she seemed to make a point of walking over to him to whisper something in his ear or grab a quick kiss,” says the insider.
Fortunately, Stephen, 41, and Alex, 34, have been able to move past the awkwardness — for the most part. “Anna is hugely relieved,” says the insider. “She says that a large part of True Blood’s appeal to viewers is, well, the hot sex. If Stephen kept taking her scenes with Alex personally, his jealousy could take down the entire show.”

I wonder if this is true or not; but if so, Moyer’s just going to have to learn to deal with watching Skarsgard sex up his wife because, you know, it’s part of the job. Besides, it’s not like Paquin doesn’t have to deal with Moyer’s love scenes with other women on the same set as well, right? Granted, “True Blood” sex scenes are much more intense than the average television sex scene; but still, suck it up, dude.
Meanwhile, Alex was snapped looking all lanky and sultry in New York City this week. Honestly, a man should need a permit to stand like this:

I think Dianna was listening to me! I?ve spent the last week bitching about Dianna Agron?s new haircut and budget dye job, and it looks like the girl decided to change up her hair once again. These are new photos of Dianna out and about, showing off her new hot Pink hair. If you?d like to see how Dianna?s hair looked just a few days ago, go here - I thought it looked a lot like the style Faith Hill had gotten years ago, when she chopped off her normal, lovely blonde hair into a ragged little bob, and then bleached the crap out of it. Dianna, like Faith, is a pretty woman, but only certain kinds of hairstyles work on her, and this rock n? roll dye job and bob isn?t one of them.
Should I excuse Dianna because of her youth, though? She?s 25 years old, still young enough to experiment with Pink hair, I guess?? In my opinion, dyeing your hair Pink is more of a ?15 year old misunderstood faux-goth? thing, but I?m an old fart and I?m just speaking from the tunnel-view of my generation. I think Dianna is just looking to change it up somehow, just trying to shake off a rather boring reputation and get the kind of attention that Lea Michele gets.
By the way, in yesterday?s Agron post, I gave what I thought was a pretty thorough run-down of what went down between Dianna and her ex-boyfriend, Alex Pettyfer. Some members of Dianna?s fan club came in and started using multiple handles to yell at me and claim that Dianna really is the innocent little victim that she claims to be. Sure. Maybe she is. But maybe she wants to change the good-girl image she?s worked so hard for.
PS? does anyone else think she looks a little Rachel McAdams-y in these photos? That?s another problem Dianna faces - she always reminds people of more famous women. Faith Hill, Rachel McAdams, Britney Spears (I think she looks like old-school Brit).

Just as her hit FOX series' big screen effort is set to take over theaters around the globe, Dianna Agron stepped out to debut a brand new look in Los Angeles, CA on Thursday (August 11).
After beginning the day filming scenes for the upcoming season of "Glee," the Quinn Fabray cutie flaunted a wild Pink hairdo as she hopped into her Audi ride and cruised over to the Sunset Towers Hotel.
The sighting comes as Miss Agron has been busy promoting "Glee: The 3D Concert Movie" with her fellow castmates over the past week - with the Kevin Tancharoen directed picture documenting the Glee Live! In Concert! summer 2011 tour.
Of the highly anticipated film - which opens on Friday, August 12th - Dianna told THR that she and her fellow "Glee" stars were under quite a bit of pressure to learn their moves in a short timeframe prior to tour launch.
The 25-year-old Georgia native dished, "We had three days to learn the choreography. And, luckily we have the most amazing choreographers. Everybody had a double they would take us all and break us off and teach each other our track. We couldn't have learned it in three days had we not that that.

Showcasing yet another one of his many talents, Justin Timberlake sat in the director's chair for the making of the "Hoodies On, Hats Low" video - the latest track from hip-hop group FreeSol.
Lending his creativity to the group, which is currently signed to his label, Tennman Records, the "Friends With Benefits" star made an all-star cameo in the clip, whispering lyrics and showing off a few dance moves.
Looking to garner interest in the beat-wielding record, Justin took to his Twitter page, writing, ?New music? if you like it pass it along.?
Despite the recent musical rendezvous, Timberlake himself hasn't put forth any new tunes since the 2006 release of "FutureSex/LoveSounds," however, he says that could change in the near future.

Executive producer Nigel Lythgoe confirmed on Ryan Seacrest’s radio show yesterday that Jennifer Lopez would be returning for another season of “American Idol.” EDITOR’S NOTE: I assume the same people who listen to Ryan Seacrest’s radio show are also the same people watching “Keeping up with the Kardashians.” They are a blight on our society and must be eliminated. Or at least neutered. Just like Ryan Seacrest. Anyway, the Daily Mail says:
During a phone call to the show, Lythgoe settled the speculation, confirming: ‘I am delighted to say that all three judges [are] back for the next season.’
It has been reported that the singer has signed on for a bumper pay packet at over $20 million – up from the $12 million she’d previously earned.
Twenty million dollars for “American Idol?” Are you kidding me? Who watches that shit anymore? I couldn’t tell you who won any of the last six seasons, and it’s my fucking job to know. I don’t which that says more about, the crappiness of the show or my own mad job skillz, but one thing’s clear: you can totally see Olivia Wilde’s sideboob in that dress. The end.

During her interview on ?Live with Regis and Kelly? earlier this week, Emma lamented her lack of a dating life.
