Hayden Panettieres tell all, This is Me: A Reckoning, came out yesterday. A lot of outlets are discussing the blind items she drops. We talked about her reveal that a female friend put her in bed, at just 18, as a sort of offering to an older male celebrity on a yacht. In her book Hayden states that it was a 30-something British singer. Many people have speculated that the evil friend was Diana Jenkins, who has denied its her. (Hayden seemingly addressed this in an ET interview, saying, Whats worse is the denial of it, because thats not a story that somebody just makes up.) Hayden also dropped a horrifying anecdote about an Oscar-winning actor who exposed himself to her at a party.
In This is Me, Hayden writes that her mom, Lesley Vogel, refused to have a personal relationship with her after Hayden fired Lesley as her manager. Late last week, we covered Lesleys mean response to Haydens memoir, which was typical DARVO and blamed Hayden for everything. In a new interview with Entertainment Tonight, Hayden responded to Lesleys statement, saying that it was false and that her mom is closing the door to a potential reconciliation.
On the abuse she went through as a child
I was like overwhelming that I hadnt like made the connection so much sooner in their forms of abuse and some things that I have to work on and keep my eye out eye out for because no one else is going to protect me.
On her moms statement
It was so false. She slammed that door in my face. When people ask me about the relationship, if theres any hope for future, I always say that I always leave that door cracked open in case because who doesnt want a relationship with their mother? You pray for it and you hope it eventually comes, but she slammed that door pretty hard in my face.
On if shes talked to her mom
No, she has very clearly prioritized herself, which I should not be shocked by. But I cant imagine how she feels about doing what she did and then saying what she said. I dont know how she lives with that.

Its surprising to me that Hayden is open to having a relationship with her mom, because it seems like a textbook situation that calls for no contact. For what its worth, Haydens abusive ex boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, called Haydens mom one of the worst people Ive ever met in my life. TMZ interviewed Hickerson because of course they did.
Later in the interview, Hayden was asked about the fact that she recently came out as bisexual. She said she didnt want people to think she was coming out for the wrong reasons or that it was a fad for her. Im 53 and bisexual and this is sadly relatable to me. I hardly ever mention it for that reason and am grateful that the younger generation is more open and understanding.
Kudos to Hayden for being so forthcoming about everything shes gone through. Shes so matter-of-fact and vulnerable. Im so happy to see her on the other side of everything she went through and I hope she has a long career as a scream queen.

Hayden Panettiere got so much criticism when she relinquished custody of her then-toddler daughter to her daughter?s father, Vladimir Klitschko. I remember covering it in early 2019 and giving her credit for doing the difficult thing to make sure little Kaya was well cared for by family. Hayden was in an abusive relationship at the time and was struggling with addiction. She also sought treatment for postpartum depression, which she was open about. It must have been hard for her to give up custody of her daughter. It turns out it wasnt her decision. In a clip from Red Table Talk, the new episode of which comes out this afternoon, Hayden talks about how hard it was to sign over custody. While shes clearly parsing her words, it sound like she was forced to by her ex. Heres more.
appears on this weeks new episode of Facebook Watchs Red Table Talk, opening up to co-hosts Jada Pinkett Smith, Adrienne Banfield Norris, and guest host Kelly Osbourne about the very upsetting experience of relinquishing custody of her only child to ex Wladimir Klitschko.
In a clip from the RTT conversation shared exclusively with PEOPLE, Panettiere calls signing the custody papers the most heartbreaking thing Ive ever had to do in my life.
You thought this was an agreement that you came to that it was best that your daughter be with her dad, Banfield Norris asks the actress to clarify.
At first it was not because it wasnt a discussion, the actress explains. If [Klitschko] had come to me and said I think because of where youre at right now and your struggles that youre having it would be good for her to be over here with me for a while ? which if I had probably had enough of a conversation I wouldve said okay that makes sense, I get it, Ill come there to visit and stuff like that.

Because of the way that it was done, it was very upsetting, she continues. I mean, it was the worst signing those papers, the most heartbreaking thing Ive ever, ever had to do in my life.
I was gonna go work on myself, I was gonna get better, and when I got better then things would change and she could come to me and I could have my time with her but that didnt happen, she adds.

Haydens then boyfriend was arrested multiple times for assaulting her, she wasnt sober and it seems like Kaya was in the right place. Hayden has since gotten sober from an alcohol and opioid addiction and shes made peace with Vladimir and his family. At least she posts nice things about him. Maybe shes doing that out of necessity because she hopes to get more time with her daughter.
In Haydens cover People interview, which came out this July, she said that she visits with Kaya, now seven, and that theyre close. I am interested to see if she talks more about that in her RTT interview. Again, shes wording things carefully. If she doesnt have custody of Kaya, she is probably scared to say anything bad about her ex and his family. Sometimes people make tough decisions because the other parent isnt able to care for their children.

Hayden Panettiere has been going through some sh-t the past year particularly. Shes been in an abusive relationship with an awful man called Brian Hickerson, who was arrested most recently on Valentines Day after allegedly abusing her again. I didnt cover that because it was just sad and awful. (You can read the details and see Brians mugshot on US Magazines site, Im not going to get into all that.) He was charges with felony domestic violence in May of last year when a protective order was issued against Brian on Haydens behalf by the court. Its unclear if that was still in force during this last incident or if Hayden was seeing Brian voluntarily despite it. Whatever is going on, Hayden wants people to know that shes doing ok. She tweeted and deleted a photo of her ex, boxing great Wladimir Klitschko, with their daughter Kaia, five, writing Best father ever. She also shared a photo of Kaia with face paint, which she deleted as well. When a Twitter user asked her about the abuse, she clarified that wasnt the same guy and that was Klitschko was her champ. Another person asked her if was ok and she wrote that she was always good. Here are those tweets, and I got the background on her deleted tweets from US and E!

I havent been covering the latest details in the domestic violence case against Hayden Panettieres boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, because its just too sad. In May Haydens boyfriend was arrested for felony domestic violence after an abusive incident involving Hayden. Brian was charged and ordered to stay away from Hayden, which he allegedly did not do as there were follow-up stories that friends and family were worried about her. Brian is facing up to four years in prison if convicted, and the details revealed during the hearing for the protection order were disturbing. The prosecutor revealed that the police report claimed Brian hit Hayden on the face late one night when they were drunk, followed her upstairs after she went to bed on then choked her. Police saw bruising on Haydens eyelids, marks on her neck and bruising and a bite mark on her arms. According to the Police report, Hayden described Brians attack, and said he had abused her the day before when they were in Puerto Rico. It just sounds awful. I hope he gets the book thrown at him.
In this latest story in People, a source urges Hayden to leave Brian.
As Hickerson faces a felony charge in connection with an alleged domestic violence incident, a source says Panettiere?s loved ones ?are begging her to straighten up and move ahead.?
?It is totally out of control and she has to get over this guy,? the source says.
?Her friends and family have been worried about her for quite a while, and things seem to have gotten worse,? the source adds. ?She needs to do some soul-searching. For whatever reason, she continues this relationship, but it has done nothing but take her down lower. It?s a sad situation.?
?Hayden needs to surround herself with different types of people and get a hand on both her personal and professional life,? the source says. ?It?s hard to imagine things getting any worse, but they could.?
Kaya has apparently been living in Ukraine with Klitschko, 43, ever since their breakup, although the actress posted a photo from vacation with her little girl in February.
?Her life is in flux with her daughter living away, and she has other issues weighing on her mind,? the source says.
?Hayden is a wonderful and talented girl who was so happy with her family,? the insider says. ?I hope she can wade through whatever has gone wrong and get her life back together.?
Panettiere could not be reached for comment. Hickerson?s lawyer did not immediately respond to PEOPLE?s request for comment.

These quotes lack a basic understanding of abusive relationships, the cycle of abuse and coercive control. Its not a matter of her doing soul searching, or needing to get over Brian, Hayden may be legitimately afraid for her life if she leaves. She needs to escape and have support in order to do that. Whoever is giving these quotes to People sounds like theyre blaming Hayden for being a victim. Also I still maintain that Hayden deserves so much credit for letting her daughter stay with Wladimirs family. She knows shes not in a good situation for Kaya.

About a week ago, we heard that a judge had issued a protection order against Brian Hickerson, Hayden Panettieres boyfriend, ordering him to stay away from her following a domestic violence incident in their home on May 2nd. Brian was charged at that court hearing with felony domestic violence. US Magazine, which has had exclusives about Hayden in the past, claims that her friends are worried that shes still seeing Brian in violation of that court order.
?It?s disturbing to family and friends that Hayden and Brian may not be following the court order,? a source tells Us Weekly exclusively. ?There is not one single person out there who isn?t concerned about Hayden. What Brian did to Hayden is unacceptable behavior, and it?s not to be tolerated.?
Those closest to the 29-year-old actress are unsure whether the two are seeing each other but know how severe the consequences could be if the couple ignore the terms. ?Violating the court order puts both of them in jeopardy. They could both get in serious trouble,? the insider says. ?Hayden?s friends and family are giving her space because she is going through a lot. They are being supportive as much as they can and as much as Hayden is willing to take it all in.?
?It?s going to take her some time to realize this is all for the best and to protect not just Hayden but other people. If it?s not Hayden, it will be someone else,? the source tells Us. ?Everyone hopes she?s following the rules. Her friends check in with her. But when she wants privacy, no one can do anything.?
According to the insider, the aspiring actor is not living with [Hayden] at the moment.

At least theyre not living together, but as I said in the last post about Hayden, abuse is insidious and hard to escape. She may legitimately fear for her safety if she tries to leave or cut him off entirely. She may also think that it will be ok and that she can manage everything. We heard earlier this year, also from US Magazine, that Haydens four year-old daughter, Kaya, has been living with Kayas father, Wladimir Klitschko, and his family in Ukraine. That sounds like the best situation for the girl. I hope that Hayden can find a way to get out of this relationship. Im really worried about her.

Hayden Panettiere has been seeing a guy called Brian Hickerson for about a year. We first saw them out together looking tipsy last August, after the news came out that she?d split with her daughter?s father, Ukrainian boxing great Wladimir Klitschko. Then, in November, cops were called to Brian?s father?s home in Greenville, South Carolina on a report for an assault and battery. Hayden and Brian were there and had been drinking with his dad, who had injuries on his face. Brian had been chasing his father around and was uncooperative with police.
Earlier this year we heard that Hayden?s daughter Kaya, 4, had been living with her father and grandmother in the Ukraine and that Hayden hadn?t seen her in four months. Hayden tweeted a photo that seemed to indicate she was visiting with Kaya shortly after that. The situation sounded sad but like it was amicable and that Hayden was ok it. I?m worried about Hayden though, after this news that her boyfriend, Brian Hickerson, was arrested for domestic violence against her last week.
Hayden Panettieres boyfriend got hauled off to jail after their night out on the town turned violent at home TMZ has learned.
Sources close to the situation tell us the Nashville star and her BF, Brian Hickerson, were out drinking together in Hollywood Wednesday night before heading back to their pad. Were told the couple had an argument that turned physical and, at some point, cops were called its unclear by whom.
Police showed up around 2 AM Thursday, and our sources say they noticed redness and marks on Haydens body. After interviewing both of them, were told they determined Hickerson allegedly started the fight, and arrested him.
Law enforcement sources tell us he was booked for felony domestic violence. He was released later Thursday after posting a $50k bond.

Hayden isn?t on Instagram and she has an official Twitter account but she hasn?t tweeted since February. I am pretty sure that Brian used to be on Instagram as I remember him sharing a video with Hayden at some point, but I dont think his account is public anymore. I?m just hoping that she?s able to get out of this relationship soon, that she has support around her, and that she?s ok. As weve seen with so many famous women lately, that doesnt insulate them from abuse.
