Lauren Conrad has a new interview with People to promote her childrens clothing line with Kohls. Shes had a popular womens clothing line there for years and is expanding it to kids. In comparison to how messy Laurens former costar, Kristin Cavallari is, Lauren keeps her personal life relatively quiet. She does show her kids faces on Instagram, but she shares just a few tidbits about her life. It sounds like shes struggling in lockdown like a lot of other parents. Her children are very little, she has boys Charlie Wolf, who is seven months, and Liam James, who is two and a half. Thats already a ton of work but add in having to watch them 24/7 and take care of a house and it sounds like shes burnt out. Lauren told People that she gets very little time to herself, but that her husband is supportive.
Were in survival mode
Our kids need a lot of attention. Were living in a world of LEGOs and train sets! Its been a real balancing act.
As far as personal time during the lockdown, Conrad says its been a bit elusive. Any time throughout the day that I would have taken for myself has been replaced with cooking and cleaning, says The Little Market co-founder.
The only time I have to myself is when the kids go down to sleep, she tells PEOPLE. Every night, Ive been taking a bath with Little Market bath salts and having a glass of wine. Its my favorite thing! When you have young children, you dont get a lot of alone time.
But Conrad gives plenty of credit to husband of five years Tell, 40, whom she calls a great partner. Says The Hills alum, Hes good at doing what he needs to do, and really helping me out.
In the end, I am really trying to look at [the current situation] in a positive way, and remember that my kids are only going to be this small for so long. And Im getting a chance to enjoy them in a way I maybe wouldnt have before.
[From People]
I could definitely relate to the cooking and cleaning part. It feels like Im cooking, cleaning and doing laundry constantly, and I only have a teenager with me. Ive been so tired lately, but I have to keep it in perspective that at least Im not responsible for taking care of kids too. The survival mode quote makes it sound rough. My heart goes out to those of you with children at home, I cant imagine what thats like in quarantine. It sounds like Lauren is coping okay and that she has help from her husband. Plus she has a ritual she does at night to calm down. Maybe I need a nightly ritual like that too.

| Lauren Conrad 'felt like a bad mom' when she couldn't produce enough milk | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

We discussed breastfeeding on the Hilary Duff post yesterday. I appreciate everyone who was willing to share their story, whether you loved it or didn?t. Lauren Conrad also addressed breastfeeding this week on her podcast Lauren Conrad: Asking for a Friend. Lauren announced she?s pregnant with her second child last month. During her podcast, she opened up about the challenges she had breastfeeding her first child, Liam. She had such a low milk supply that eventually, she just had to stop, something that made her feel like she was a bad mom.
The ?most difficult part of becoming a new mother,? according to Lauren Conrad? Breastfeeding.
During Wednesday?s inaugural episode of her podcast Lauren Conrad: Asking for a Friend ? which featured author Leslie Bruce, who wrote You Are a F?ing Awesome Mom ? the lifestyle guru and former reality star opened up about the pressure she felt to fit the mold of a mom who experienced nursing as ?the most natural, beautiful thing in the world? after welcoming her son Liam James, now 22 months.
?I felt like I was failing at something that should come really naturally and it was really difficult for me,? said Conrad, 33, admitting she ?felt ashamed? and ?like a bad mom? because she couldn?t produce enough milk for her son after he was about 4 months old, even after trying a myriad of would-be remedies like lactation cookies, teas and pills.
Conrad recalled having a ?really sad half-full frozen bag of breast milk? in her freezer that, even though she couldn?t use it, she couldn?t bring herself to toss it in the trash because she had such a low milk supply.
?It had a tiny little martini glass drawn on it because it was from the one time I had a martini and I couldn?t give it to him,? she said. ?So it just sat there next to the Popsicles, mocking me. Besides that, I had nothing, and I couldn?t keep up with [Liam?s need].?
[From People]
I have three close friends who were unable to produce enough milk to breastfeed. It was torture for them from the aggravation of not sating their baby to the anguishing decision to stop and the guilt that followed. It broke my heart to see what they were going through. Each one echoed Lauren?s comments about feeling like a bad mom or a failure. It?s such a deeply personal experience and sometimes words aren?t enough to alleviate these complex emotions. If anyone here is currently going through this, my heart goes out to you. I can tell you that two of the friends I mentioned went on to nurse their second children for a year with no problem and one of them had twins the second time around. So I hope Lauren finds peace with this second child, whether it?s nursing or knowing that she?s still a terrific mom regardless of how her baby is fed.
The martini milk in the freezer struck a chord with me, like a little tainted hair shirt in a baggie. Like Kaiser, I am in awe of Lauren?s accomplishments as a businesswoman and on a personal note, I love her fashion line. It baffles me to think someone as successful as her would beat herself up in this way. Second babies can be entirely different experiences than the first. I hope Lauren chucks that martini milk baggy immediately and revels in everything she?s doing right.
Mm?kay ? time for baby Liam pics!

Lauren Conrad gave/sold (?) the first exclusive photos of her first baby to People Magazine. LC gave birth to baby William ?Liam? James Tell on July 5th. Liam?s father is William Tell, who is not quoted whatsoever in the People Mag article. William is NEVER quoted. He is sometimes photographed with LC and I just feel like she married Some Guy. He?s Some Guy who doesn?t have much of a personality, but he?s tall and handsome in a normal, bland, basic way, so he?ll do. Anyway, LC is very happy with her baby and Liam is apparently a very good baby already. Some highlights from the People Mag cover story:
She thought Liam was going to be bigger: ?Before the delivery, I felt like I was getting ready for a blind date. We considered doing the 4D ultrasound but then decided to wait. I just remember thinking he was so cute ? and I was surprised by how tiny he was. I was convinced I was having a giant baby, to the point where I didn?t even buy newborn clothes ? in my head he was 9 lbs.,? she says of baby Liam, who was born weighing 6 lbs., 14 oz.
They found out the sex early on: ?I don?t really love surprises. I like to have all the information. And I was sharing my body with someone ? so I wanted to know as much as possible about him. I always hoped I would have a boy. Boys are so fun. I was a tomboy, and I always play best with boys. When we found out, I was so excited.?
She didn?t always know she wanted to be a mom: ?In my early 20s I was open to having them or not having them. But after meeting William, I changed my mind,. I knew I wanted to have a family with him. But I didn?t want to do it right away. I?m crazy about Liam, but I never really got baby fever. We wanted to enjoy being married and to really be in the right space. We took our time, so it was something to look forward to.?
She?s not feeling ?any pressure? to lose the baby weight. ?Spanx exist for a reason.?
Liam is a good baby: ?I feel so spoiled. Liam is such a good baby. I?m sleeping three to four hours at a time. This morning I was up at 4 a.m. and I wasn?t even tired, so I cleaned the kitchen and did some cooking. William was like, ?You?re crazy!? ?
She wants another baby: ?He?s funny to watch ? he makes really funny little expressions. I?m already stressing out because I want him to stay this tiny and I know he won?t. So I?m just trying to enjoy how itty-bitty he is. I was looking at him the other day, and I was like, ?I understand now why people keep having babies!? We?ll probably have two. I think it?s best not to be outnumbered.?
She wants to raise his to respect women & Disney movies: ?I want to be strong and teach him to respect women. The mother-son relationship is so important. And I?m just excited to play again! I can?t wait to break out the finger paints. And I?m such a Disney nerd, so I get to watch those movies with someone who is seeing them for the first time.?
[From People]
She sounds very happy and blissed-out. LC lives such a charmed life, doesn?t she? She would be easy to hate, with the way she sort of floats through her life of privilege, but I don?t hate her. I do think she appreciates what she has. Also: she?s cleaning the kitchen at 4 am just a few weeks after giving birth? Damn. What?s my excuse??

Drawing even more creative energy from Disney, Lauren Conrad has a brand new range of apparel slated to hit the shelves at your local Kohl?s department store.
The ?Hills? stunner is following up her Minnie, Bambi and Cinderella collections with one based on ?Alice in Wonderland,? ahead of the theatrical release of ?Alice Through The Looking Glass.?
Conrad told Us Weekly, "My newest Kohl's collection, inspired by Alice in Wonderland, mixes signature looks from the movie with updated prints, colors and silhouettes. There are hearts inspired by the Queen and variations on [Alice's] iconic blue dress ? each piece in the collection takes a little something different from the movie."

As some of you may know already, I?m sort of a late-in-life Lauren Conrad fan. I had always felt simple ambivalence towards LC, but then I had a moment of realization at Kohl?s one day: LC actually has a decent brand. Like, her jewelry is really wearable, the clothing brand is full of cute stuff and as far as branded celebrities go, LC is harmless-to-good. Plus, she has rescue puppies and she?s not above publicly dog-shaming them when they?re b-a-d d-o-g-s. She?s a winner in my book! Anyway, LC covers the new issue of Cosmopolitan and it includes what is probably my favorite LC quote ever.
On fashion being her passion: ?Television was just sort of an accident? I never felt really strongly about it. But fashion is something I feel passionate about. If I hadn?t done TV, I still would have ended up in the [fashion] industry, but I definitely wouldn?t be in the position I am now.?
On being basic: ?I probably am pretty basic. But I?m also a pretty happy person, so that?s okay with me.?
On whether she has any thoughts on Heidi Montag proclaiming that she forgave Lauren for “trying to ruin [her] life”: ?No? I?m not really involved in that anymore. I don?t think it has anything to do with me. You just have to focus on the good people in your life. Focusing on what you lose is only going to make you sad.?
On not being bitter about The Hills: ?When I did television, scandal was always around me. And I think one of the best things [about that] for me is that your life becomes more big picture. You have to develop a thick skin really quickly. It toughened me up, which is good.?
On former flame Brody Jenner hosting his own sex and dating advice show: ?My husband told me [about it]. I didn?t know!? He has a lot of experience? so sure, depending on what kind of advice you want.?
[From Cosmopolitan]
?I probably am pretty basic?!!! We?ve discussed LC?s basic-ness before, notably last year, when Allure called her out specifically for being ?basic? and ?unremarkable.? It was an interesting discussion because while you could make the case that LC is totally basic, you could also make the argument that her style (both personal and her brand) is classic and simple and there’s nothing wrong with that. I mean, there?s a reason why LC is a rich basic bitch: people DO think her clothes are cute. They think she has a good eye for staples. Well, at least LC owns that. She should start calling herself The Queen of Basic.

| Lauren Conrad bans 'body-shaming terms' like 'skinny' & thin' from her website | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Lauren Conrad’s switching up some of the terminology on her lifestyle website. The change comes in focus with her June theme, “Shape Up.” Lauren will share workout tips and healthy recipes galore. She wants to get fitter with her readers and focus on menu ideas (like Meatless Monday) and tips (like reading food labels). Lauren hopes that people will find these columns to be “inspiring.” As opposed to Goop-esque aspirational, I guess. The big change refers to a meeting with her editorial team. They all agreed to stop using words like “skinny” and “thin” to describe women’s bodies. Here’s Lauren’s reasoning.
“It?s that time of the year again… swimsuit season. I make an effort to eat healthy and exercise all year round. But when summer hits and the layers of clothing come off, fitness becomes even more of a priority for me. So with that in mind, our June theme here on LaurenConrad.com is going to be Shape Up. You can expect all the great fitness content you?ve come to know and love here on the site, including my LaurenConrad.com Bikini Boot Camp series. But, you?ll also notice one key difference…
When we’ve talked about getting in shape in the past, words like ‘skinny,’ ‘slim,’ and ‘thin’ have often come up. Starting this month, we’ll be banning any body shaming terms from the site, and replacing them with words like ‘fit’ ‘toned,’ and ‘healthy.’ We try do to this for the most part anyway, but now we?re making it official! The word skinny will now be reserved for skinny jeans. My editorial team and I had a long talk about it, and we want to make sure that the focus is on being fit as opposed to a number on the scale. Every body is created differently–and healthy bodies come in all shapes and sizes.
[From Us Weekly]
Lauren wants to emphasize all body types and the importance of being fit. Some might think she’s acting oversensitive by banning certain words from her website. I know people are exhausted by the term “shaming,” but what Lauren says makes sense. She wants to promote fitness, not whether someone can fit into a certain size clothing.
Anyway, yes. The words “skinny” and “thin” are triggers for many fit people. Depending on the way someone slings those words in another person’s direction, they can carry a derogatory meaning. The words can imply that someone simply got lucky with their body type. People think they’re giving a compliment, but it doesn’t feel that way on the receiving end. Lauren wants to stop using all disparaging terms referring to body type on her website. Hopefully, this change will spark a trend.

| Lauren Conrad: Women don't have to be tough bitches to be taken seriously | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Lauren Conrad covers the April issue of Redbook, and I don?t like this cover all that much. It?s mostly because LC?s hair looks totally fried!! LC used to have decent hair so I?m not sure what?s happening here. Anyway, she?s been sort of quiet since getting married last summer, but she talks about her new husband, William Tell, and how he?s the first guy she?s ever wanted to marry. Which is weird, because I?m pretty sure she and Kyle Howard broke up because he wasn?t interested in marriage, but whatever. Some highlights from Redbook:
Do women have to be loud divas to be successful? “Over the last few years I’ve been able to work with several women who I really respected because they didn’t take on that role of being a bitch. They were strong, but they were kind and they didn’t need to shout to be heard. A lot of women feel like they need to be tough in order to be taken seriously. We have this idea that kindness is weakness, which I don’t think is true.”
Meeting William Tell: “[I was] never a person who was obsessed with the idea of marriage.” Lauren says that William is “the first person I ever thought I could marry.”
William Tell is a lawyer: “I watch The Good Wife with him, and he’s like ‘That’s incorrect. You would actually do this?’ It’s a nightmare!”
Whether her kids will do a reality show: “I definitely wouldn’t encourage my child to do reality television.?
[From Redbook]
LC also says she?s not feeling any pressure to start a family just yet, which sounds about right because she?s just 29 years old. I bet she waits another year or so and when she does get knocked up, her business will expand with TONS of kids? stuff (although she already has a kids? line).
Yeah? I know this was sort of boring, but you know what? I do kind of like her. It?s nice to see that at least one person made it out of the reality show system with some kind of grace and business skill. As for LC?s comment about women not needing to be ?bitches? to get things done? I see her point. But what if we?re just naturally bitchy and we happen to get things done? There seems to be a presupposition that if a woman comes across as a bitch, then she?s just playing that role to get something done. What if that?s just her personality?

Keeping an eye on her business ventures, Lauren Conrad showed up at the grand opening of the Paper Crown + Rifle Paper pop-up shop at The Grove in Los Angeles on Wednesday night (February 12).
Joined by Rifle Paper honcho Anna Bond, the former ?Hills? hottie perused the wares and chatted with customers while fans and paparazzi snapped up pics.
Having recently married her handsome husband William Tell, Lauren dished on the past five months of married life- "We already lived together, we already were very much partners, and we knew we were going to spend our lives together, so you know we had a beautiful wedding and it was so great." As for her Valentine?s Day plans, Conrad gushed, ?It?s a surprise so I can?t tell anybody!?

As we discussed on Monday, Lauren Conrad married William ?Some Dude? Tell last weekend. I was really hoping that LC would post a lot of wedding photos onto her social media, but so far? not so much. She sold her wedding pics to Us Weekly, and they gave her the cover this week. That?s her wedding dress on the cover! LC is officially LT now too ? she tweeted ?I am officially Lauren Tell.? But? but? her branding is all about being LC and ?Lauren Conrad.? Eh, maybe she?ll still use her maiden name for her business. Anyway, since I know you?re dying to hear some highlights from the cover story, here you go:
*The ceremony is described as ?a rustic-chic ceremony on the California coastline.? There were ?countless Pinterest-worthy personal touches like vintage hankies and homemade apple pie.? The hankies were hung on a frame. And the aisle was ?a burlap runner strewn with gilded eucalyptus leaves.?
*LC got help planning her wedding from her bridesmaid and professional wedding planner named Cassandra Herschenfeld.
*LC says: “I don’t know that I have ever been as happy as I was walking down that aisle. It was amazing!”
*The wedding had a theme and that theme was ?apples.? And LC?s husband gave her a special wedding gift: “an apple locket with a snippet from the menu on their first date.” Aw.
*LC?s dress was Badgley Mischka. Meaning she didn?t trust herself to design her own dress, but she totally designed all of her NINE bridesmaids? dresses. Mark Badgley said: “She was involved in the process the whole way. She had a really clear notion. And she stuck to her guns.” The gown has been described as ?a two-tone Chantilly and Alenon lace dress with crystals, pearls and baby glass beads.? With a ten-foot train.
*At one point, her wedding gown had sleeves but LC confessed: ?I felt like I couldn’t pull them off. I don’t have super long arms.” When the tailor refused to take off the sleeves, LC says: ?I was like, ‘Sir, if you don’t cut them off, I’m going to use my kitchen scissors and cut them.?? The sleeves came off.
*She changed into a Monique Lhuillier dress for the reception.
[From Us Weekly, E! News, Racked & Jezebel]
Apparently, this was all very Pinterest-friendly and ?homespun,? meaning it will probably make a very good Buzzfeed ?31 Great Wedding Ideas? list at some point. I?m actually happy for LC and I can?t wait until our digital issue of Us Weekly comes in so I can see all the photos. I think my favorite detail is the “burlap runner strewn with gilded eucalyptus leaves.” Gurl, you walked down an aisle of BURLAP?
