| Brad Pitt is 'painfully aware that my kids will see my movies as they grow up' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

In the middle of the promotion for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, the Hollywood Reporter did a curious and controversial article wherein they argued that Leo DiCaprio is the ?only global superstar left.? There was a lively discussion about whether that was true, and the comparison was made to Brad Pitt, who is obviously Leo?s costar in OUATIH. I argued that while Leo makes ?bigger? movies, Brad has the more enviable career, because he diversified became a top-notch producer and he produces some of the best Oscar-bait films out there, in addition to being an in-demand actor. There is no right answer to this riddle of ?who is the last global movie star,? but I would say that there still are some other global stars left and it?s not just Leo.
In any case, that whole discussion got people thinking about careers and the evolution of stars and all that. While I applaud Brad?s producing abilities, he honestly hasn?t had the best ?picker? for his starring vehicles in the past ten years or so. Allied bombed critically and financially, and I would be willing to bet that Ad Astra will be the same kind of thing. It?s also worth noting that Brad doesn?t DO kids? films. He?s always done drama or action or art films. So? this doesn?t make much sense, really:
Brad Pitt says he only accepts roles his children will be proud of him for ? because he is ?painfully aware? they will watch his films. The Hollywood star, 55, has six children with his ex-wife Angelina Jolie: Maddox, 18, Pax, 15, Zahara, 14, Shiloh, 13, and 11-year-old twins Knox and Vivienne.
He told Red Bulletin: ?Now that I?m a dad, I?m clearer about the work I want to do. I?m now painfully aware that my kids are going to be seeing my movies as they grow up. I think of how movies affected me when I was a kid, the ones that told me something, honed me a little bit, left that indelible mark. It?s important to me that I leave something they?ll be proud of.?
Pitt, who found fame at 21 with a supporting role in 1991 film Thelma And Louise, said: ?I feel like we won the lottery. There are many talented people out there, but the trick is: Once you get in the door you have to stand in the roomThere is a shelf life to what we do, and we?re aware of that. It makes us more appreciative of the time we?ve had. As long as you find meaning in what you do, it?ll transition into something else.?
[From The Evening Standard]
I guess he?s saying that he wants to make movies that stand the test of time, that his kids can find and enjoy when they?re older. Which? I mean, every actor wants to make movies that stand the test of time. Every actor wants to make The Godfather or To Kill a Mockingbird. Very few actors actually manage it. And what films will his kids see? Ad Astra? OUATIH? LOL. Probably not. I could see the kids growing up to enjoy Spy Game or A River Runs Through It or?? I don?t know. Mostly, Brad just wanted to remind everyone that he has kids and he thinks about them sometimes! I bet the Jolie-Pitt kids will enjoy the heck out of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil though. *nail emoji*

| Margot Robbie has done some very Cool Girl things on 'a non-moving jet-ski' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Several months ago, I referred to Margot Robbie as a Cool Girl. I didn?t really mean it as an insult, although many people took it that way. I don?t even think that Margot is trying to be this perfect, male-idealized Cool Girl, I think she just exists that way naturally. People always talk about how normal she is and how even though she becomes more famous every year (with an Oscar nomination to boot), she?s still the kind of woman who spends days at a music festival, sleeping on the ground, or that she?s really just a beer-guzzling, meat-eating girl next door who has no idea that she?s hot as hell. Anyway, Margot is getting attention this week for revealing the weirdest place she?s ever had sex: a JET SKI. Wait. What.
On the weirdest place she has ever made love, Margot Robbie reveals: ?On a jet-ski. A non-moving jet-ski, but in the water.?
She does not, however, reveal whether it was with her husband of three years, British director Tom Ackerley. And beware mentioning the ?C-word? ? children. She is infuriated by people expecting her to have kids since tying the knot.
She says: ?I got married and the first question is, ?Babies? When are you having one?? I?m so angry that there?s this social contract. ?You?re married, now have a baby.? Don?t presume. I?ll do what I?m going to do. If I?m looking into my future 30 years from now, I want to see a big Christmas dinner with tons of kids there. But not at the moment. That?s 100 per cent certain.?
[From The Sun]
She?s gone off on the kid thing before and it seems to genuinely upset her, the fact that so many people were asking her when she?s going to get pregnant once she married her husband. It is rude, I agree. But I?m guilty of it too whenever people get married, I just start thinking about when we?ll hear the pregnancy announcement. Like, I still think we?ll get one from Chris Pratt and Katherine Schwarzenegger any day now. But I know it?s not any of my business.
As for the jet ski? I understand the position of everything, I think. The guy is seated on the jet ski and Margot would be in his lap, either facing him or turned around, I guess. Gives a whole new meaning to the motion of the ocean. But yeah, Peak Cool Girl.

| Cameron Diaz: 'The mid-1990s are an era that will never exist again' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

How many times have we all suggested that some celebrity ?take a break? or just take some time away from the spotlight? I feel like I personally give that advice to a lot of struggling celebrities, but few of them actually do it. I don?t think I ever said that Cameron Diaz needed a break, but that?s fine she took one anyway. She?s basically been away from the spotlight for five years (minus one book promotion). No movies, no international promotional tours, no interviews, just the occasional appearance on social media, or the rare tabloid report. Every now and then, one of her movies will come on and I?ll watch one The Holiday is always a favorite and remember how much fun she was to cover, and to just enjoy as an actress, and I sort of miss her. Which is weird, I know, because she was never really my fave. Anyway, Cameron participated in InStyle?s 25th anniversary issue and her piece is written as a first-person essay about why she?s on a break and how much happier she is. I believe that I bet she loves living a different way now. Some highlights:
On fame: ?I started when I was 22, so 25 years ago ? that?s a long time. The way I look at it is that I?ve given more than half of my life to the public. I feel it?s OK for me to take time for myself now to reorganize and choose how I want to come [back] into the world. If I decide to. I don?t miss performing. Right now I?m looking at the landscape of wellness and all that. But whatever I do, it has to be something I?m passionate about ? something that just feels effortless.
?90s nostalgia and the changing landscape: ?At this point, I?ve done so much, I feel fulfilled with the adventures I?ve sought out in my life. I?m in a great place, and the world is so different now too. The mid-1990s are an era that will never exist again. I?m just so grateful that I got to witness and partake in it. I look at technology now, and it?s unbelievable. Sure, you can post anything at any time on Instagram and you?re able to control your own narrative, and that?s incredible. But you?re tied to your phone, and you?re so dependent on it? We?ve lost touch with our humanity and our humanness, and I think it?s really healthy to not have to be accountable for every minute of our day.
She doesn?t owe anyone anything: ?It?s fun to just not have anybody know what I?m up to. Because my time is all mine. I?m not selling any films, and because I?m not selling anything, I don?t have to give anybody anything. I?m not doing this anymore. I?m living my life.
On her 40s: ?You know, I think the 40s are the best decade. You just get to be real with yourself, and you can also make necessary changes because you have the experience of looking back on four decades. Looking at patterns and seeing what things really work. You get to let go of giving a sh-t about anything. You?re done! Don?t care. I really don?t. It?s such a relief. You also start to go through changes on a physical level and realize there?s nothing you can do about them. Then you get to look back at pictures and think, ?Oh my god, I hated myself at that moment, but look how young I was.? ? I know right now I?m the youngest I?ll ever be. I?m a 47-year-old woman who?s like, ?Hell, yeah!? I?m fine with it. I?m grateful for every moment I have.?
On her marriage: ?I just want to build better, stronger friendships with the people who are in it with me. Of course, that includes my husband [musician Benji Madden]. Getting married to him was the best thing that ever happened to me. My husband?s the best. He?s the greatest human being, and he?s my great partner. Marriage is certainly hard, and it?s a lot of work. You need somebody who?s willing to do the work with you, because there?s no 60-40 in marriage. It?s 50-50, period. All the time. I don?t know if I was ready [when I got married], but I knew Benji was special. He?s just a good man. There?s no bullsh-t. It?s really refreshing. I?m really grateful for him.?
What?s next: ?I like doing my own thing. I like creating, so I?m just looking for the project that makes the most sense for me now. I have some things brewing, but it?s a little too early to talk about them. I love everything that my girlfriends are doing, like what Gwyneth Paltrow has done with Goop and my sister-in-law Nicole Richie with her House of Harlow. Overall, I feel lucky that I got to be in the world and explore it when it was a different place. It was a real privilege.
[From InStyle]
I?ve wondered about her marriage to Benji Madden, just because they still, to this day, seem like such an odd couple. I wouldn?t say that Cameron?s picker was ?off,? but I would say that it just never seemed like she was interested in dating the traditional hot-guy actor. She seemed to like guys who were a bit offbeat, so maybe Benji fits with that. I guess I wondered if Benji wanted her to stay home and just be his wife and she agreed, or if SHE wanted to take time off. It sounds like everything about her life right now is her choice though, and honestly, good for her.

| Jennifer Garner 'feels like she's finally found a true partner' in John Miller | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Do you miss the constant updates and sourced quotes about Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garners divorce? I do not, but I remember that time somewhat fondly, as hard as it was to keep up with. Ben and Jen must have had an entire PR team releasing quotes which were worded slightly differently, all about how they were coparenting and putting the kids first. Sometimes they would shade each other a little when things got out of hand, but it was never bad. You could tell that they were on the same page with the kids, even as Ben was drinking and when he dumped his mistress-turned-official girlfriend, Lindsay Shookus, by stepping out with that Playboy model. The whole PR approach was a good strategy, in theory, but they needed to show more restraint and they have lately. Jen is on Instagram and shes also dialing it back and not having to control as much of the narrative, since Ben is sober now and isnt messing up as much. So heres the latest in US about Garner and Afflecks relationship, and how Garners boyfriend, John Miller, has made Ben a better person or something.
?Jen having a boyfriend has been the best thing to happen to Ben and Jen in a long time,? says an insider, noting that ?Ben?s become a better parent.?
Since their split in 2015, the actor has stepped things up in his role as dad to Violet, 13, Seraphina, 10, and Samuel, 7.
?He?s really showing Jen that he can be a better person,? says a source about the Justice League star. ?They?re coparenting in a way they never have before.?
?He ultimately just wants to be the best father he can be and part of that is continuing a loving relationship with Jen,? adds a source.
The Gone Girl actor is also getting along great with Cali Group CEO, 41, too. ?Ben has no problem with John,? says the insider, noting that Miller?s daughters from a previous marriage have had ?playdates with Jen and Ben?s kids. Ben totally trusts him.?
[From US Magazine]
In the video theres another quote that Jen feels like shes finally found a true partner. Thats total shade. You know who this is coming from and Im sure shed be happier if hed just step out with her. Remember the cover story on US in January that Miller was going to propose to Garner sometime over the summer? I wonder what happened to that. This is a nice story though and I believe it. I bet Ben treats Jen way better when he knows he has competition and cant get her back anytime he wants. I also think its true that Ben is nice to John and doesnt have an issue with him. Thats the kind of guy he is, hes always cool with other dudes.

| Shannen Doherty on cancer: 'Your body never fully bounces back, I?m critical of myself' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I saw the Beverly Hills, 90210 reboot, and I didnt love it or hate it. It was a fun distraction for an hour. It was late summer mind candy with a heavy dose of nostalgia, for which I am a complete sucker. Without revealing anything, Shannen Doherty?s character was an amusing commentary about her rumored contentious relationships with castmates.
Shannen sat down for an interview with People to chat about her recovery journey after being diagnosed with breast cancer four years ago:
Following a painful and terrifying battle with breast cancer, Shannen Doherty is now in remission. But the actress, who currently stars on BH90210, the buzzy reboot of Beverly Hills, 90210, says her recovery is a daily process.
?I don?t think you?re ever on the other side [of cancer],? Doherty, 47, tells PEOPLE. ?I don?t think about the fact that I?m in remission. I look at it like I?m lucky to be alive every minute, every second of the day.?
?I really took good care of myself, and I came out of it in as good of condition I think somebody [in my situation] could be in,? says Doherty. ?But the funny thing with cancer is that once you?re no longer on chemo or radiation, people think you?re fine, that you bounce back. But what they don?t realize is that your body has been through something so incredibly difficult that your body never fully bounces back.?
Shannen said that the long hours spent filming are grueling and that they?ve left her exhausted and have taken a toll on her. She also talked about the process of learning to accept her body:
?I?m trying to figure out how to accept who I am now,? says Doherty. ?I?m never going to be the size I used to be. Some of my meds that I?m on keep zapping the collagen out of me, so I?m never going to have a wrinkle-free face. I?m critical of myself. But there are some things you can?t fight.?
[From People]
Shannen also said she?s ?really terrible with self-care,? and that she has a ?tunnel vision mentality? at work. I can definitely identify with that. When I was writing my dissertation, I forgot about just about everything else and was awful about taking care of myself; I am still paying for that in various ways. For one thing, my sleeping pattern is still wonky: I went from being a night owl to a late-late-late night owl, and it?s been really difficult to try to switch back to something resembling a typical sleep/wake schedule.
I feel for Shannen; I can?t imagine how stressful it is to be both recovering from cancer and doing it in image-obsessed Hollywood. It sounds like she?s figured out, logically, that what she looks like doesnt determine her worth or value as a person. Focusing on her recovery one day at a time is what matters. But it also sounds like she?s still working on internalizing that and believing it. I hope that she eventually reaches the place where she fully accepts herself for who she is now.
Note by Celebitchy: I understand where Shannen is coming from and I feel for her. She looks incredible to me.

| Kelly Ripa keeps telling embarrassing stories about her teen daughter | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelo like to throw their kids under the bus when they need an amusing anecdote or sound bite. Kelly?s practically made a career out of it. Oddly, the subject mainly seems to be her only daughter, Lola (Lola is the middle child, she has an older and younger brother). The latest ?That Wacky Lola? story comes at the cost of Lola looking beautiful for her senior prom. Lola, who is 18, graduated from high school this year and while Kelly was on Jerry O?Connell?s chat show, the Jerry O? Show, Jerry showed Lola?s prom photo (above). Only Kelly wanted to make sure that everyone saw Lola?s low neckline in the shot and then blamed Lola for having it altered behind her parents backs:
Now is this at prom or is this at graduation?
No, that?s prom. That?s the prom dress that we had made and then she had altered behind out backs. So that?s why the girls are fully on display. Everybody came down the stairs together ? and I just mean Lola.
I don?t have any problem with the neckline, I think it keeps with the classic design of the gown. But going off that photo, I do think the dress was over-altered. Fabric-pulling aside, the color is gorgeous and Lola looks beautiful. Honestly, I?m not sure I would have noted Lola?s dcolletage if Kelly hadn?t called attention to it. For those who haven?t watched the clip, the part I excerpted takes place right after Jerry and Kelly discuss the show Euphoria and wonder aloud if it?s a good representation of what high school is like today. The reason I mention that is because I asked I the same thing when I saw Euphoria. Like, should I be watching it like a PSA? So I wonder if Kelly was actually trying to come off as a more concerned parent with the lowcut dress comment. Probably not but the timing was coincidental.
Kelly and Jerry also discussed cell phones. CB covered Jerry and Rebecca Romijn?s no cell phone policy. Apparently, it was Kelly who told Jerry to hold off ?as long as possible? because she said that as soon as the kids get cell phones, their grades will take a nose dive. Like CB, we did not have the grade problem with our kids. But, like Kelly said in the clip, we have another problem: they never answer them, text or voice, so what?s the point?

| Celine Dion: fashion, grooming, hair and nails change your demeanor | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
Celine Dion has been having a hot girl summer: she?s been sporting fun hair styles, cavorting around Paris in beautiful clothes, and giving away some of her 5,000 pairs of shoes to fans. Celine is also prepping for her world tour. Given her latest fashion, it?s no surprise that she told Allure that taking the time to do her hair and put on a great outfit and makeup is a confidence-booster:
When I was young and having problems with my teeth, very, very skinny, not feeling pretty, and being bullied at school, I would never have thought that L?Ore?al Paris would one day ask me, at 51 years old, to become an ambassador, Dion tells Allure. And while fans may see it as a natural or even long-overdue fit, she sees it differently: It?s a miracle.
No matter how shes felt about her appearance, Dion has always found strength in other deep aspects of her life. Singing was a way for me to express myself, to feel supported and not judged. Over the last couple of years, I feel like I?ve grown strong and happy through dance, through friendship, through motherhood. It?s inside out, she says. However, she has also learned to harness elements of beauty to build on the confidence music and relationships have given her, adding, But the things we put on ourselves: the cream, the hair color, the conditioner, the nails, the makeup, a good outfit ? it changes my demeanor.
Today, nearly four decades after starting her career as a recording artist, she says, I?ve never felt as beautiful, or so in charge. When you do feel in charge, it gives you an extra voice. Even though I still use my voice for singing, I now have a little [extra] voice for raising my children, for making decisions. I even have a new album coming out.
[From Allure]
I love interviews with Celine because she seems to be loving her life right now. It?s great to read about a woman who is confident and who is claiming her power (or, her ?voice,? as Celine puts it here). She is a perfect global ambassador for L?Oreal Paris. I agree with her about how great hair, clothes, and makeup can give you a bit of a boost: I notice that on days when I feel good about what I?m wearing and how my hair is behaving, I feel better overall. (I don?t usually wear makeup.) The past several weeks have been a bit bonkers in my neck of the woods, so on Saturday, I went and got a pedicure, and seeing my bubblegum-pink toenails instantly made me happier and I felt a tad more self-assured and optimistic. Celine is a bit more than a decade older, and I hope that when I?m 51, I?ll feel similarly settled in who I am and as confident as she seems to be.
