On Wednesday Kaiser mentioned Mariah Carey treating husband Nick Cannon like her assistant during the inauguration. She also noted that Mariah?s brand of crazy is pretty harmless. Very true ? but still fun to mock. Apparently Mariah was unhappy with the seating arrangements in D.C. No, not because some really tall guy was blocking her view. In fact she had lovely digs in a special celebrity section. You?d think that?d be enough for her, right? I mean she didn?t have to congregate with the general masses.
But for some reason Mariah was under the impression that she?d be seated with the Obama family. Yeah, that?s right, the seating order should have gone Barack, Michelle, Mariah, Sasha, and Malia.
SOME divas cling to their high-maintenance ways even at moments of historic national import. Mariah Carey, who performed at the Neighborhood Ball for President and Michelle Obama, was “furious” when she found out where she’d be seated for the inauguration.
A spy said, “Mariah was in the VIP area, where every celebrity, like Jon Bon Jovi, Mary J. Blige, Alicia Keys and Bruce Springsteen, was seated. But somehow she thought she’d be up with the Obama family. When she realized she wasn’t, she bailed.”
A rep for Carey declined to comment.

I really don?t want to laugh at someone being so stupid? but I mean come on! How in the world is anyone so self-centered that they could assume they?d be sitting with the president?s family? They held hands and cuddled for the photographers? lenses, and SJP even talked to People magazine about their ?date night? and about the rumored Sex and the City sequel. Parker says that she?s heard the rumors, but basically SATC fans shouldn?t believe everything they read.

On Thursday night, they turned a visit to Broadway into a romantic evening ? complete with hand holding and downplaying rumors that their marriage is in trouble.
After watching The American Plan, a play starring Mercedes Ruehl and Lily Rabe, Parker told PEOPLE, “This is date night. It was really lovely.”
Parker, looking divine in a polka dot dress, white coat and spiky black heels, also gracefully addressed recent reports that she and Broderick were close to splitting. “We don’t even bother to address them,” Parker told reporters, adding that the best part of being married is “being married.”
Defending their relationship wasn’t the only thing on their minds, however.
The couple attended the play to support the director David Grindley, who will begin rehearsals for The Philanthropist, another Broadway play, with Broderick in six weeks.
As for the news that a sequel to Parker’s hit movie Sex and the City is a done deal, Parker coyly told PEOPLE, “that’s what I’ve heard but I wouldn’t say that is the most official thing you’ll ever read.”

Their marriage is none of my business and I feel dirty even thinking about all of the nasty rumors about Broderick and the state of their affairs. I can totally see why they did this photo-op, but I don?t think it will stop the rumors. If the SATC movie sequel does go through, that means even more publicity and even more rumors. She reveals, “I’m not this round the clock diva looking for attention. I’m way more comfortable out of the spotlight and just chilling out with my family.
“I’m very quiet. I love to paint. I love to watch TV though it seems I never get to do it.

Best case scenario, Beyonce is admitting she’s a diva except for when she’s home. I think diva behavior is indicative of a lack of true class. And Beyonce?s been a major one lately ? even telling the U.S. Secret Service what to do. During the inauguration, she insisted they make an exception to their barricade rules and let her car come pick her up so she wouldn?t have to walk four blocks in the cold. Does that sound like the behavior of a woman who isn?t a diva? Who prefers to just quietly chill and spend a low-key evening vegging out? I don?t think so. It sounds to me like someone who?s high maintenance under any condition. But nice try.

When I was a kid, I used to collect stamps for a brief time. ?Brief? because stamp collecting is very time-consuming and deserves a lot patience, patience which is difficult for a child to muster. I had some really beautiful stamps, though, and I learned a little about how and why each country puts certain things or people on their stamps. Many of Great Britain?s old colonies still put members of the royal family on their stamps, even after gaining independence. In America, we never put living people on stamps - people have to be dead for a certain number of years before they can be considered ?stamp worthy?. Many other countries feel differently.
Australia is one of those countries. They have no qualms about putting their biggest exports - their actors - on their stamps. Their current batch features Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett, Russell Crowe and Geoffery Rush - all Academy Award winners. Australia?s Post released the stamps yesterday.
You?ve seen them on the silver screen, and now Oscar-winners Russell Crowe, Nicole Kidman, Cate Blanchett and Geoffery Rush may soon be starring in a letter box near you after their homeland Australia recognised their achievements by putting them on postage stamps.
The 55 cent (36 U.S. cent) stamps, which went on sale on Thursday, bear pictures of the four Australian Hollywood stars and are part of Australia Post?s celebrations for the January 26 national day, Australia Day.
?The four Academy Award winners were named the 2009 Australian Post Australian Legends in recognition of the outstanding contributions they have made to Australian
entertainment and culture,? managing director Graeme John said in a statement.
In addition to their Oscar gold, the stars will also be presented with a 24-carat gold replica of their stamp in recognition of the honour, the statement added.

It?s a nice gesture, but what about Oscar-nominated Aussies? Naomi Watts must feel left out. And what about Heath Ledger? A stamp with Heath would have been a nice way to commemorate his life and work. Out of all of the stamps mentioned, though, I would most want to lick Geoffrey Rush!

Brad Pitt is a God-fearing man. It?s just that his gods are Mickey Rourke, Sean Penn and Gary Oldman. Pitt was promoting Benjamin Button in Paris when he reacted to his Oscar nomination for Best Actor, and to his film?s thirteen total nominations. He complimented his fellow nominees by saying, ?When I started out my Gods, so to speak, were Gary Oldman, Sean Penn and Mickey Rourke.?
Pitt also complimented co-nominee Richard Jenkins, saying, ?And since then Richard Jenkins has become a great friend and someone I admire.? Pitt did not offer any praise or compliments to Frost/Nixon?s Frank Langella, however. The ghost of Nixon will haunt him now.
Brad Pitt said he is honoured to have made the Oscar Best Actor nominations list.
The actor was out in Paris promoting his film The Curious Case of Benjamin Button - a drama where he plays a man who ages backwards.
The film led the field of Oscar contenders with 13 nominations, including best picture.
Pitt said: “When I started out my Gods, so to speak, were Gary Oldman, Sean Penn and Mikey Rourke and so it’s a real honour for me to be sitting at the same table and be mentioned in the same way with these fine actors.
“And since then Richard Jenkins has become a great friend and someone I admire… So it’s a fickle business but it’s nice when your number comes up.”
Pitt, arrived at the premiere of the film with his partner Angelina Jolie but she slipped into the background while he promoted his movie.
Pitt said: “The Benjamin character is really more about receiving, about the people he meets along the way. They have the burden of performance and Benjamin has the burden of taking all that in and how he simulates that.”
The film will vie for best picture with Slumdog Millionaire, Milk, The Reader and Frost/Nixon.

Sean Penn and Brad Pitt have made a film together called Tree of Life, directed by Terrence Malick. When filming last year, there was gossip that they didn?t get along and that there were many fights between the two actors. I wonder if there was any truth to the rumored ?battle? and if Brad is trying to make nice with Sean Penn. God know Sean won?t be the one to try to bury the hatchet first.

Earlier today Kaiser reported the story that Angelina Jolie’s former longterm bodyguard and confidant, Mickey Brett, was said to be writing a tell all about his time working for the actress. Brett is a notorious figure who was suspected of a murder for hire in England in the 90s. There wasn’t enough evidence to link him to the crime, and it’s unknown if he was actually involved or just one of several suspects.
He was videotaped choking a photographer in October, 2006, and was accused of beating up a guy who breached Brad and Angelina’s compound in Namibia earlier that year. There were also reports that their bodyguards roughed up parents and their children and used racial epithets at a school in India where Angelina was filming A Mighty Heart in November, 2006. Brett was let go a year ago by Brad and Angelina, presumably at Brad’s insistence, and it looks like they made the right decision as their image was tainted back then by their aggressive security staff led by Brett.
I’ve had the chance to read In Touch’s story about Brett’s tell all, and they add convincing details to give it weight, but they always do that. In Touch is the magazine that claimed Angelina told Salt producers at a meeting in early November that she was pregnant.

Background on Brett’s supposed book
Mickey Brett, Angelina’s head of security for seven years, never signed a confidentiality agreement and us now seeking revenge for being fired by Brad last year. “He knows everything about Angelina,” reveals a source close to Mickey. “It’s going to be one of the most explosive books ever written!”
The scandalous tome, co-authored by ghostwriter Robin McGibbon, is sure to make people rethink how they feel about Brad and Angelina.
Angelina seduced then-married Pitt with sexy costumes and bondage gear
Even though Brad has insisted he did not have a “dastardly affair” with Angie when they filmed Mr. & Mrs. Smith in 2004, Mickey, 52, will refute that claim with a shocking firsthand account of a tryst three weeks into film. “Mickey walked in on Angelina being intimate with Brad in her trailer,” the source says. The bodyguard also promises to expose how Angie won Brad over by doing whatever he wanted in bed. “She indulged any fantasy he had, including buying sex toys, paddles and whips and dressing up in latex,” says the source.

Angelina, 33, would also confide her darkest secrets to Mickey. One thing she hated was Brad’s ignorance. “She can’t stand how little he knows about many subjects,” the source says. Once, when Brad dyed his blond locks black to match Angelina’s and got a tattoo to impress her, “She and Mickey thought it was the funniest thing,” the source adds.
Angelina cheated on Brad with “a famous female pop star”
But the most shocking revelation in the book will no doubt be the allegation that Angelina cheated on Brad several times during their relationship. Mickey will reveal that during his employment with the Jolie-Pitts, Angie became too close for comfort with one man - as well as a famous female pop star. Though it is unclear what went on behind closed doors, “Mickey set up at least 20 secret meetings for Angie with this woman at hotels when Brad was working,” the source says. “Angelina would gloss over where she was to Brad, and Mickey would cover it up.”

We’ll have to see if it’s true that Brett is planning a book, but it’s doubtful. If someone files a lawsuit or we hear something more about it, this story might have merit. Otherwise it’s just In Touch jumping to conclusions and adding some fabricated details in order to create yet another faux explosive Brangelina cover and move copies. Even if Brett is planning a book it’s possible that the stuff in In Touch is made up. The fact that they claim Angelina had an affair with a “female pop star” and don’t name names makes it sound even more suspect. I have to admit I’m wondering who it could be though.

Kate Winslet?s got a lock on the Best Actress Oscar for her role in The Reader, but her film Revolutionary Road was snubbed. Still, Kate is a complete professional, and she and her on-screen husband Leonardo DiCaprio have been promoting the hell out of the film, directed by her real-life husband Sam Mendes. The two actors have been spending so much time with each other that Kate?s gotten confused as to who she is actually married to.
British actress Kate Winslet says she spends so much time talking about Leonardo DiCaprio she’s starting to confuse him with her real husband, Sam Mendes.
Winslet is in the U.K. promoting the movie “Revolutionary Road,” which Mendes directed. The film reunites her with her “Titanic” co-star and longtime friend DiCaprio.
The duo’s reunion more than a decade after the melodramatic blockbuster was hotly anticipated, and both have been peppered with questions over whether their on-screen chemistry is still as strong.
Winslet told Britain’s GMTV Monday that DiCaprio “feels more like my husband than my real husband, I have to say. I’m talking about him so much!”

Am I alone is sort of wishing Winslet would leave her husband for Leo? Those two really do seem to love each other in a very deep, meaningful way. When Winslet got up to accept her Golden Globe for Revolutionary Road, she cried and spoke directly to Leo, in the audience, saying how much she loved him and how much their friendship has meant. Even Leo looked like he was near tears. Both Kate and Leo have consistently maintained that they are each other?s favorite actors, favorite screen kiss, et cetera. Leo even told Oprah once that Kate is ?his girl?.
Russell Crowe, however, is not Kate’s favorite. Fox News is reporting that Winslet was offered the role of Maid Marian to Russell Crowe?s (bloated) Robin Hood. This was the role that Sienna Miller was supposed to play, but Sienna was either pushed out or quit. There were some mutterings about Russell?s intemperate behavior and his rapidly-expanding size.
It’s a war of Kates ? or Cates ? as the search for Robin Hood?s Maid Marian continues.
I told you the other day about Sienna Miller leaving “Nottingham,” the Ridley Scott directed feature set to star Russell Crowe. The feeling was that petite, young Miller would seem dwarfed on screen by the older, beefier, “Gladiator” star.
Now comes word from sources that Kate Winslet, nominated for Best Actress in “The Reader,” has passed on the role of Maid Marian and the opportunity to spend quality time with Crowe, Scott and pals in the woods.
A new offer has just gone out to Cate Blanchett, I am told, but the answer is likely to come back negative. Blanchett is likely too expensive and too serious to get involved in this venture. An Oscar winner herself for The Aviator in the Best Supporting Actress category, Blanchett also has to set her sight her sights on a Best Actress win. Plus, she already did her action thing with the recent “Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”
Producers are mulling a back up plan, I?m told, waiting to make an offer to Rachel Weisz. This seems almost perfect, as Weisz may be the right price and just at the right point in her career to have “Nottingham” make a difference in upping her profile. And if she doesn?t take it, my suggestion to the producers is Jennifer Ehle. But no one asked me!

Rhona was attending the Hollywood premiere of the new Underworld flick, and there is something really elegant in the way that she looks in these photos. I never knew Rhona was in many of the movies I had seen, and now I want to go back and watch them again to check out these beautiful woman in action. Rhona Mitra will probably be one of the few highlights of this new addition to the Underworld franchise.

I hate to say it, but it really does sound like former Full House star Jodie Sweetin has fallen off the wagon and started using drugs again. Jodie is in the process of divorcing her husband, Cody Herpin, and trying to get custody of their baby daughter Zoie.
The National Enquirer ? which is generally a very reputable source ? has a detailed statement from a co-worker on the set of Jodie?s last movie. They gave the person a polygraph and everything, and they passed. The eyewitness says they did coke with Jodie and also smelled marijuana coming from her trailer on multiple occasions.

The eyewitness passed a polygraph exam and said that in late August, Jodie was using cocaine in a trailer shared by cast members on the movie’s set in Wilmington, N.C. ?The door of the trailer was locked,? the source says. ?We knocked on the door for a few minutes, and finally some guy let us in. However, McCall is adamant that he’s working on a reunion with the actress, despite Love Hewitt having stepped out without her engagement ring.
In a statement UsWeekly, he says: “We are working it out. We are both still wearing our rings.”
News of the broken engagement came three months after Love Hewitt was snapped sobbing as he packed luggage into the back of a vehicle outside her home, sparking initial reports their romance was in trouble.

At Sundance promoting her new film 500 days of Summer, Zooey Deschanel took time to talk to MTV about her music. Zooey and M. Ward (together, She & Him) released their first album Volume I in March of last year to rave reviews. Now she has revealed that she’s been working on new music and will be releasing a new album (I’m guessing it will be called Volume II), though she won’t say when.
“We’re working on it. I can’t say exactly when it will be finished. … Give me some time! I need a break!” she laughed. “I’ve been writing a lot, and we’ve been recording some, so, hopefully, I don’t know. I don’t want to put a number on it, but it’s going well and, I mean, it’s fun, as always.”
Deschanel stopped short of revealing any additional details about the new S&H album ? after all, when MTV News spoke to her, it was at Sundance, where she was on hand to promote her upcoming role in the karaoke-fueled romantic comedy “500 Days of Summer” ? but she was more than willing to admit that making the film was easy. And not just because she’s musically inclined.
“Yeah, I’m a romantic, but I’m not a romantic in the traditional sense. I like to romanticize what happens to me,” Deschanel said. “Whatever happens to me ? you could quantify it as good or bad ? I romanticize it. I think along the lines of ‘When that thing happened, it made me who I am.’ That kind of thing. It’s a different way of being romantic.”
And will that sense of romance carry over to the new She & Him album? Will there be a cameo or three from her newly minted fianc?
“That’s none of your beeswax,” she laughed. “Time will tell.”

Zooey’s fiance is Death Cab for Cutie’s frontman Ben Gibbard, and the collaboration of his, Zooey’s, and M. Ward’s musical stylings is sure to be good. It’s rare that an actress who ventures into music is successful and generally well-liked in both venues. And unlike many other cross-over artists, her album was marketed on its own merits rather than being advertised as a Zooey Deschanel project. You have to give her credit for taking a risk.
On another note, her latest film project, 500 Days of Summer looks pretty good. It includes a lot of music (as the interview says, “karaoke-filled), and as can be see by the big song and dance scene in the trailer. Maybe this is a sign that she’ll try to establish herself further into the musical world.

In Touch?s cover story this week is very hardcore. They report that Angelina Jolie?s former bodyguard, Mickey Brett, is planning to write a tell-all book about Angie and Brad. Mickey is best known as being Angelina?s long-time bodyguard, and for getting into multiple scuffles in India, as Angelina filmed A Mighty Heart. Mickey was the one to attack the paparazzi in India, and he was part of the incident in which several Indian parents claimed he shouted racist comments at them.
Mickey?s book, as In Touch spins it, is supposed to be some kind of expose of Jolie and her relationship with Brad. According to ?sources?, Angie was very close to Mickey, and she confided in him about many, many subjects.
Angelina Jolie’s Oscar nomination celebrations have been marred by reports her former bodyguard is planning a tell-all which will set out to prove the actress moved in on partner Brad Pitt when he was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
Sources claim the actress, who was nominated for a Best Actress Academy Award on Thursday (22Jan09), is seeking legal counsel to block Mickey Brett’s expose, which will also expose intimate details of her courtship and sex life with Pitt.
An publishing insider tells In Touch Weekly magazine, “He (Brett) knows everything about Angelina. It’s going to be one of the most explosive books ever written.”
Brett, who headed up the Jolie/Pitt’s security detail when the couple went into hiding in Namibia before the birth of baby daughter Shiloh in 2006, was reportedly fired by Pitt last year (08).
The source tells In Touch Brett never signed a confidentiality agreement and could be in the clear when it comes to revealing all about the Hollywood couple.
The insider also tells the publication, “It (book) will include all the sordid details of how they (Pitt and Jolie) got together while Brad was still married to Jennifer Aniston.”
Pitt attempted to clear up those rumours in a recent interview after Jolie revealed the couple had met and fallen in love on the set of action film Mr. + Mrs. Smith, which was made when the movie hunk was still married. He insisted there was no “dastardly affair”.

Part of me really, truly thinks that this is just the usual tabloid crap. But Mickey was let go last year, and I could see how any former bodyguard might want to cash in on his famous protected celebrity. And I can totally believe that someone like Mickey would know all of the juiciest dirt. Allegedly, Angelina is already talking to lawyers about getting some kind of block on the publication. My guess is that Mickey is probably going to write a book, and that some of it will be about his famous clients, but that the dirt that being pushed in In Touch isn?t anywhere near the real story.

She must think he?s changed to some extent or she wouldn?t be considering marrying him. Yet there?s obviously still some fear and lack of trust there.
Even if they were on completely solid ground, the disparity between their incomes is at least $125 million. It seems like a prenup is more than acceptable under those circumstances. They both deserve to be in a relationship where they can trust the other person. It seems to me like they should work on those issues before the focus on walking down the aisle.

Every few months, a reporter will ask Angelina Jolie’s estranged father Jon Voight if he’s met his grandchildren yet and he’ll say that he hasn’t, but that he hopes to someday. It kind of makes you feel sorry for the guy. He’s 70 and he’s not getting any younger.
Angelina and her dad famously fell out in 2002 after he said in an interview that she had “severe emotional problems.” They had a strained relationship growing up, and Angelina’s brother has said that their dad cheated on their mom before they divorced and was a cruel parent.
The National Enquirer reports in a side article that Jolie ran into Voight at an after party for the Golden Globes and completely ignored his attempts to talk to her. I guess we know it’s not likely he’ll be spending time with his grandchildren anytime soon:
Angelina Jolie gave dad Jon Voight the cold shoulder at the Golden Globes after-party at the Beverly Hilton’s Circa 55 Restaurant on Jan. 11. When Jon approached Angie’s table, she ignored him and continued to chat with a girlfriend. Jon waited patiently for nearly 20 minutes, but finally gave up and moved on.

This story appeared in one of the Enquirer’s side columns which cover what the celebrities are up to and are generally not that interesting. I’m surprised the Enquirer didn’t run it as a whole feature about how their father daughter relationship is still rocky, but maybe they think it’s old news at this point. It really seemed like Angelina was at least on good enough terms with her dad to make small talk, if not plan outings with the grandkids. Some wounds take a long time to heal, though, and given how much it still upsets just to mention her departed mom she may not be ready to deal with the man who caused her mom so much pain.

Good news for fans of haggard old women who F their way through New York. You’re getting a sequel!
Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis are all coming back for another installment of Sex and the City. And they’re getting raises. Big ones.
Regarding the sequel, Parker is hoping for a story “worthy of an audience.” Nixon wants the exact opposite and suggests the crew go on a “mad cap adventure.” Probably in Brazil or Mexico or any other country where it’s plausible to stumble into the middle of an ongoing orgy or something equally provocative.
Whatever they decide to do, just, please, stay away from the hi-def cameras and consider axing the Blu-Ray release. 1080p is not your friend. Maybe try filming in YouTube quality?

Poor Brad Pitt is so busy jet setting the world promoting The Curious Care of Benjamin Button, going to Awards shows in The States and filming Inglourious Basterds in Brelin plus he is the father of 6 kids under 7 and doing Angelina Joile, that he forgot to zip up his jeans. Which is bad for him, but is great for us! And it could have been even better had his little Basterd come out to play!!! To be honest I am surprosed he even has the energy to get dressed!
