Jessica Simpson gave birth to her daughter Birdie Mae six months ago. Jessica recently posted an Instagram where she talked about her postpartum weight loss journey, where she claims to have lost 100 pounds in six months. A lot of us were like ?huh?? Jessica always gains a lot of weight during her pregnancies, it?s just the way she?s built, but pregnancy doesn?t really explain that kind of weight gain and loss. I think Jessica was saying that she was already carrying around more weight than she would have liked when she got pregnant with Birdie, and then she gained a lot of weight during her pregnancy. Anyway, Jessica?s trainer Harley Pasternak spoke to People Magazine about the program he developed for Jessica this year:
Jessica called Pasternak days after giving birth: Jessica gave her longtime trainer Harley Pasternak a call ?days after she gave birth,? he tells PEOPLE. ?I?ve kind of helped her come back after each baby, and this is a bit different, in that she said she was tipping the scales at 240 [post-delivery]. This is sort of the aggregate of being pregnant nonstop for a decade, and so we had a little more of a challenge between this and the other ones,? he says.
The holistic approach: ?The difference between this and the other times was that she worked out, yes, but her transformation was more about what she did on her own time. She was so motivated and positive. She was saying that her body has not belonged to her for the past decade. Not in a bad way, in a positive way ? her body has been designated to create life and now it?s hers again and she?s going to make it fantastic in a really enjoyable way.?
Simpson had five daily tasks: getting in her steps, unplugging from technology for an hour, getting sleep, eating healthfully and exercising. The first task was easy for Simpson, who loves walking because ?it?s a social thing that she can do with her kids,? Pasternak says. He had her start with 6,000 steps a day for the first few weeks, and then slowly build back up to her usual 12,000.
The diet changes were based on Pasternak?s Body Reset Diet.?It?s three meals and two snacks a day, and each meal has protein, fiber and fat, and snacks are protein and fiber or protein and fat,? he says. ?She?ll have foods that are very flavorable that are healthier versions of things like a tortilla soup or Tex-Mex. And if she has a birthday party one night and a date night another night, she?s going to indulge both of those nights, but that?s it. It?s about balancing in a way that doesn?t make it painful or too much of a departure from your life before that.?
Gym time: And then a smaller portion of the 5-step process was working out. Pasternak says she would hit the gym for about 45 minutes, three days a week. ?My mantra is you get lean in life, and strong in the gym. So the majority of the weight loss actually came from everything she did outside of the gym, and then everything in the gym is about toning and tightening,? he says.
It wasn?t about reaching a number: ?I never work with scales,? he says. ?My work with her is more about the habits she?s created and kept up. Every night before she goes to bed she sends an email showing that she hit all five tasks, so she?ll go to bed feeling successful. She?s hit her step goal, she?s eaten well, she?s balanced her responsibilities ? so she can go to bed with a sense of fulfillment, and that?s everything. And as a byproduct of doing these habits, she lost 100 lbs.?

It actually sounds like one of the better programs I?ve read about regarding celebrities. So many celebs go on crazy-restrictive diets or talk about spending hours in the gym, but this program is basically eating healthier (and I would imagine eating smaller portions) and walking a lot and just making sure to get sleep and work out at the gym at a comfortable level. And this was how Jessica lost 100 pounds? I guess.

Here are some photos of Renee Zellweger at the London premiere of Judy this week. She wore an Emilia Wickstead dress which had the same vibe as a lot of those Carolina Herrera dresses Renee used to wear. She definitely goes for the same kind of look, the same kind of cut. She looked beautiful at the premiere and I loved her rainbow umbrella! But yeah, she also looks different, although she will word-salad us to death if we say anything about how she looks tweaked.
I still can?t believe that Judy is getting such good reviews and that Renee is now considered a shoo-in for an Oscar nomination, if not the actual Best Actress Oscar. It feels like this could be another Rami Malek situation, where we?re just giving Oscars to randos in okay bio-pics of beloved musical figures. Judy has already opened (in a limited release) here in the US, and it?s already making good money per-theater. Obviously, people really want to see Renee as Judy Garland. And? that?s a choice, and not one I?m going to make.
Renee?s press for Judy has been all over the place too I tried reading her Guardian interview, but she once again did the word-salad sh-t about her face work and I?m just exhausted that we?re still framing it as ?how dare people notice how different I look!? I also think Renee needs some help with how she talks about Harvey Weinstein, the man who was her professional collaborator for years and helped make her into the actress she is today, and the man who used her name as he harassed and assaulted other women. Zellweger was also dragged into #MeToo. As part of the ongoing class-action lawsuit, actor Melissa Sagemiller claimed that Harvey Weinstein told her that Zellweger and Charlize Theron had given ?sexual favours? for roles. There was a robust response from the Zellweger camp: ?If Harvey said that, he?s full of sh-t.? (Though Zellweger says she didn?t personally put out a statement about it.)
Regarding what Weinstein is alleged to have said about her, Zellweger says: ?I did hear about that, yes.? Generally speaking, did Zellweger have any bad experiences in the industry? ?Never directly in that way. But, you know, there were certain behaviours that I would tolerate because I had a job to do, and I was more interested in getting through the day than in correcting someone, certainly. They weren?t offences of the variety that you?re referencing. But there were certain languages and liberties that certain people would take. But they would take them from anyone, in my estimation, not just me as a woman. But I?m sure there were countless instances that I was not aware of ? in terms of deals that were made and conversations that were had, that were derogatory, that I was not privy to. Sure. Of course. I?d be naive to think that I was immune.?

So? she doesn?t want to talk about Weinstein, which is absolutely her right. In interviews, she either shuts down those questions curtly or she goes on and on about how she is sure that someone was sexist somewhere at some point but she was never aware of it. Which is also her right if she wants to deflect like that, it?s her call. But now I can?t help but wonder why she?s fking reticent to just say ?yes I was mistreated? or ?no I was never directed harassed? or ?Harvey is a fking pig and that?s all I want to say about it.? It actually feels like she?s trying to talk around the fact that she still feels some loyalty towards him.

Here are photos from the big LA premiere of Maleficent: Mistress of Evil, the sequel to the wildly successful live-action Maleficent. Disney was very happy with the first Maleficent movie, and Angelina Jolie loved the process too, so everyone was eager to make a sequel. Jolie?s Mistress of Evil is still united with her surrogate daughter Aurora (Elle Fanning), and Aurora is about to marry a prince and have a mother-in-law from hell, played by Michelle Pfeiffer.
For the premiere, Angelina brought out the five youngest kids Maddox is in college in South Korea, but the rest of the brood wanted to come out to support their mom. They all sort of coordinated Angelina must have suggested that everyone needed to wear something black. Vivienne in her overalls, Zahara in her gown, Shiloh in a leather jacket, Knox in a Versace suit, Pax looking like he?s about to head out to a Grammy party. Angelina wore Versace and a scorpion brooch on her hip. Magnificent.
Elle Fanning wore an on-theme Gucci dress, like she lives in the forest with Maleficent. She even styled the look with flowers and butterflies in her hair. My thought: Vivienne will look like Elle as she grows up.

Sam Reilly and Chiwetel Ejiofor. Sam and Angelina got along well in the first film and I?m glad he?s back as Diaval the Raven. Chiwetel is part of the same winged-sorceress species as Maleficent. I love that Disney hired Chitwel for this!!

The last time we discussed Stacey Dash, it was because she married some guy after only knowing him 10 days. The guy?s name is Jeffrey Marty, and they got married last year. It is her fourth marriage. Apparently, she?s still with Marty and they live together in Pasco County, Florida. Over the weekend, Dash called 911 and told them that Marty assaulted her. The cops came and found marks on Marty, and so? Stacey Dash got arrested for domestic violence.
Stacey Dash was arrested for domestic violence in Florida over the weekend TMZ has learned. Law enforcement sources tell us the Clueless actor was busted Sunday in Pasco County where she owns a home after getting into a squabble with her new husband, Jeffrey Marty, and allegedly putting hands on him. Were told cops were called to a home around 7:45 PM to respond to a domestic dispute between Stacey and Jeff. Our sources say Stacey allegedly pushed and slapped him and thats when officers arrived they saw scratches on his left arm.
Stacey was taken into custody, where shes currently being held on $500 bail. Were also told in these types of incidents, the local authorities often hold people for a 24-hour cooling-off period. The couple just got hitched last spring in a secret wedding ceremony down in the Sunshine State. Not much is known about her hubby of 1 year, other than the fact that hes a lawyer. Its Staceys fourth marriage.
A source close to Dash tells TMZ she acted in self-defense. The source claims Staceys husband attacked first, attempting to choke Stacey and she defended herself which resulted in him getting scratches on his arms. Were told Stacey is the one who called 911, and she was arrested because she didnt have any marks on her but her husband did.

I?m including the 911 call below, where you can hear Stacey tell the operator that Marty?s daughter (who is 15 years old) got in her face and Stacey pushed her away, and that?s when Marty put her in a chokehold (or so Dash alleges). The arrest video has also been released Dash seems calm and sad in that.

Hours after the arrest was reported, Dash?s manager released a statement: ?Stacey actually called the police because she was attacked by her husband. He choked her and she was defending herself. When the police arrived, they couldn?t see any physical marks on her, but they did see them on him.? Then he says that the marks on Dash?s neck were visible during a medical evaluation. But Dash seemingly released a statement later saying that her husband didn?t press charges and she was released from the jail in about 24 hours, and her husband took her back home. Now Dash or her people say this:
?The marital dispute, while personal and unfortunate, has since been blown out of proportion. An earlier report on TMZ.com said her manager told TMZ that she was attacked by her husband ? both the sources relationship to Ms. Dash and the events of the evening were misrepresented. Ms. Dash is a domestic abuse survivor from a previous relationship and has championed for other abuse victims to speak up. The untruthfulness being reported saddens Ms. Dash and her family ? no further comments will be made and we ask that Ms. Dash and her family?s privacy will be respected.?

Dash literally told the 911 operator that he put her in a chokehold, and she seemed like she was in a bad place during her arrest. I absolutely hate the fact that a woman can call 911 to report abuse and she?s the one who ends up getting arrested. I don?t care about Stacey Dash as a person, but this is just a sad story and I hope she finds a way out.

Excepting certain entitled behavior from her past, I actually like Reese Witherspoon. Maybe it?s because I?ve loved so many movies of hers, I don?t know, but I dig her. However, I have never identified with her more than I did in her latest Instagram post. Reese posted this video in which she enlists the help of her 15-year-old son, Deacon Phillippe, to teach her about the social media app, TikTok. Deacon agrees, and Reese attempts a video of her own, which causes Deacon to end her TikTok career before it began:
