Here are some photos of Amber Heard leaving court in Fairfax, Virginia, just after the jury?s verdict came down. Years after Amber Heard divorced Johnny Depp, she wrote a Washington Post op-ed where she ?felt the full force of our culture?s wrath for women who speak out? about domestic abuse. She wrote about how her personal and professional life was affected in the wake of speaking out about being a victim of domestic violence. She never mentioned Depp by name. That op-ed was published in 2018. In 2019, Depp sued her for defamation. Before the American case could proceed, Depp had to deal with the libel lawsuit he brought against the Sun, the British tabloid, which had referred to him as a ?wife-beater.? Depp lost the libel suit and the judge found that there was ample evidence that saying or writing ?Johnny Depp is a wife-beater? is a statement of fact and not libelous in the least. That was in 2020.
For the past six weeks during the Fairfax trial, Depp and his people have waged a sustained and batsh-t disinformation campaign against Amber. There have been live-streams of the case, TikTokers have been mocking Amber, tweeters have been running around lying in defense of a man with a history of violence, and Deppford Wives have been inserting themselves in every single conversation. Here at Celebitchy, we have not been immune. We?ve been dealing with Depp bots, Depp trolls and truly unwell Depp fans for years and it?s ramped up in recent months. Which is why we?ve opted out of daily coverage of the Fairfax trial (and also why we ignored the day-to-day storylines from the UK libel case). As I said, there?s been a sustained campaign. Someone is bankrolling this. This is not simply an organic surge of Depp-fandom. It never was.
The Fairfax trial was, frankly, deplorable. Depp?s goal was, as ever, to punish Heard. That?s been his goal for years now, to humiliate her, to punish her, to abuse her by any means necessary, to ruin her financially and professionally. And in this case, he won. The jury came back on Wednesday. The jury was not sequestered, by the way. They all had access to those TikToks and the paid Depp pysops campaign being waged like he was trying to steal an election. The jury mostly found in Depp?s favor, no surprise.
A jury has found both Amber Heard and Johnny Depp liable for defamation in their lawsuits against each other. Depp sued Heard, his ex-wife, for defamation over a 2018 op-ed she wrote for The Washington Post in which she described herself as a public figure representing domestic abuse. Though Depp was not named in the article, he claims it cost him lucrative acting roles. Heard countersued her ex-husband for defamation over statements Depps attorney made about her abuse claims.
The jury found that Heard defamed Depp in three separate statements in The Washington Post piece, and that Depp defamed Heard with one statement his attorney made.
The jury awarded Depp $10 million in compensatory damages and $5 million dollars in punitive damages. The jury awarded Heard $2 million in compensatory damages and no money for punitive damages.
[From CNN]
This reminds me of the ?mutual abuse? argument the Deppford Wives made for about a week. That sure, Depp and Heard had a toxic and abusive relationship but that Heard shouldn?t have done this or that. That?s what this verdict is it?s the ?both sides, but mostly we hate her? verdict. While I believe that this campaign was almost all about an abusive man?s ego and sadism, it obviously has wider repercussions. The worst people in America are already celebrating this as ?the end of Me Too? and ?the end of Believe Women.? The GOP is celebrating merely because ?bitches, right?? All of this is just? contemptible.

In 2018, Amber Heard wrote a Washington Post op-ed about surviving domestic violence only to be subjected to harassment, hate and legal abuse by her powerful and abusive ex. She actually never wrote the name ?Johnny Depp? in her op-ed, but she made references to her divorce, the difficult divorce proceedings and everything that happened after she left her abuser. She wrote about how institutions are built to protect men and protect abusers. Johnny Depp filed a defamation lawsuit against her in 2019 specifically for the op-ed. There have been pre-trial motions and filings in the two and a half years since he filed, and Amber has been trying to get it thrown out of court because she?s just tired of her ex-husband exploiting the legal system to emotionally and financially abuse her. Well, the case is moving forward:
Johnny Depp has been allowed to move forward with his defamation lawsuit against Amber Heard. The actor, 58, is suing his ex-wife over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed where Heard, 35, wrote about surviving domestic violence. In court documents obtained by PEOPLE on Tuesday, a Virginia judge granted the actor the right to pursue his lawsuit, denying Heards supplemental plea to dismiss the case after Depp lost his U.K. libel lawsuit against British tabloid The Sun.
In November 2020, the Pirates of the Caribbean star lost his case against the British tabloid which called him a wife-beater. The court upheld the outlets claims as being substantially true.
Heards plea to dismiss Depps lawsuit, filed in Virginia in March 2019, came as the actress argued the U.K. judgment should hold sway on the proceedings in the U.S. since both lawsuits center on allegations of the actor as an abuser. Instead, Fairfax County Chief Judge Penney Azcarate rejected the actresss plea, saying while Heards op-ed and The Suns article may be similar in that they

| Amber Heard in Claes Iversen at the Cannes Film Festival: terrible or okay? | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The first few premiere nights for the Cannes Film Festival have been very muted, right? When last year?s Cannes was quiet too, I remember someone calling it the ?Harvey Weinstein effect? or something like that basically, now that Weinstein had been outed, shady producers weren?t using Cannes as a hunting ground for beautiful women so much. Plus, it just feels like fewer women are going to Cannes just to be seen. Maybe the Friday and Saturday premieres will be more glamorous.
Anyway, one of the big ?gets? for last night?s premiere screening of Les Miserables was Amber Heard. I?m assuming she came out as part of some beauty or jewelry contract. It wasn?t a fashion contract, I know that. She wore this Claes Iversen gown which? is not good. THAT BELT. It looks like one of those belts weightlifters use for their backs, right? It?s too wide, too mismatched, too brown-flesh colored, too leather. I also think she should embrace color she wears a lot of black and cream and pale gold. Her jewelry is Chopard.
Elle Fanning is a jury member and she?s already been delivering some LEWKS. This Valentino gown looks like it came straight from the runway and that Elle styled it exactly the way Valentino wanted her to. Very fairy-princess, very Queen of the Woodland Nymphs.
Julianne Moore in Louis Vuitton the dress isn?t leather, just the caplet is leather. I want to see the dress! But yeah, this is not Julianne?s best.

| Amber Heard in Julien Macdonald at the LA 'Aquaman' premiere: stunning or fishy' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos from the big LA premiere of Aquaman last night. All of the stars were there for this waterlogged disaster. I mean, maybe I?m being too harsh maybe it will make tons of money, who knows. The trailers and ads still make me laugh, and not in a good way. Jason Momoa was flanked by ladies for the premiere his wife Lisa Bonet was there, his mom was there, his kids were there, and he happily posed with his on-screen ?mom? Nicole Kidman and his on-screen love interest Amber Heard.
Nicole wore Armani Prive, and this does not look like Armani to me at all. It looks like Valentino or some label known for aggressive ruffles. The ruffles hurt my soul. Ugh. This is by my recollection the only red carpet appearance Nicole has made on behalf of Aquaman. It?s almost like she just took a paycheck from Warner Bros and then shrugged off promotional duties. Also: Nic needs a new hairstylist. Whoever is doing her hair these days is drunk or high or both.
Amber Heard wore a gown by Julien Macdonald. At least she doesn?t look like Esther Williams in a swim cap! No, I actually really like Amber?s styling here the dress isn?t my favorite, but it looks good on her and I love her hair color these days. Her body is crazy too. Sigh she?s so beautiful, and such a charisma vacuum on screen.

| Amber Heard in Valentino at the UK 'Aquaman' premiere: algae realness' | Added 5 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The Aquaman trailer came on before Widows, and every time I see it I think this was the third time? I?m blown away by how awful it looks. Like, the trailer even makes it look like a disaster, and they probably used ?the best? parts for the trailer. Anyway, this Aquaman train is still on the tracks (barely) and so last night, the cast came out for the big London premiere. I didn?t spy any photos of Nicole Kidman at the premiere, so she must have skipped it. Which is funny, because why did she even sign on to this mess? So instead of seeing Kidman roll out some hideous lace disaster, we got Amber Heard trying very hard to theme-dress and be on-point.
Amber?s ensemble here is Valentino. I?m assuming (?) that she had the headpiece/swimmer?s cap made special, because she wanted to look like a mermaid warrior or something. I mean, it is keeping with the Aquaman theme, in that she looks like she?s covered in algae and she forgot to take off her swim cap before she came on the red carpet. Even if she had skipped the swim cap, am I alone in not really thinking the Valentino gown is all that? The fabric is too heavy, and it looks like she had a Gone With the Wind-style dress made out of an old tapestry.
Bonus photos of Jason Momoa, who chose to briefly theme dress by? carrying a trident on the red carpet. Otherwise, he just looked normal (hot-normal) in a leather jacket and some slacks from the 90s.

| Amber Heard on Dr. Ford's testimony: 'Every woman I know watching was triggered' | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
Amber Heard went through so much abuse and trauma during her marriage to Johnny Depp. We read about it in her divorce decree, we saw the photos and we witness Depps classic abuser response, which was to blame, play the victim and continue to smear her. She dealt with a lot, and its not surprising to hear that she still has trauma and pain. In an interview with The London Times, Heard revealed that she was deeply affected by Dr. Christine Blasey Fords testimony, and that every woman she knows was affected too. I could relate so much with what she said as it brought up repressed memories and emotions for me too. Heard was likely responding to Depps GQ interview, although as the Daily Beast points out she doesnt mention him by name.
Although Heard, 32, does not directly address the allegations she made about Depp, or say his name, she comes close when she tells the paper, in response to a question about what she has learned in recent years: ?I believe the truth is the only thing that?s sustainable. I just didn?t realize how much it would fucking hurt getting there. I don?t know where that finish line is, but I fight every single day, and every single day it gets better. And every single woman that comes up to me and says thank you reminds me of my instinct to believe that right always wins, ultimately, that a lie is not sustainable, injustice is not sustainable.?
Heard also tells The Sunday Times that she found herself ?triggered? by the Kavanaugh hearing in September, in which Dr. Christine Blasey Ford accused then-Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual assault before the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee.
Asked if Ford?s testimony revived memories of her own trauma, Heard replies: ?The results of [trauma] are sneaky. They?re not as obvious as you think. I don?t hide under a table when I hear a loud bang, though that happens to certain people with PTSD. Trauma sneaks up on you in weird ways, where all of a sudden you find yourself in a puddle on the floor, crying while watching this play out live on Fox or CNN ? and you wonder why you care so much. It?s not your trial, right? But it is. It is.?
Heard adds: ?Every single woman I know watching that hearing was triggered. I don?t know a single woman who watched it and didn?t have their heart break. We are all Dr. Ford. And we know it.?
[From The London Times as reported by The Daily Beast]
I appreciate how she likened trauma from abuse to PTSD from war. Until it happened to me and I shut down emotionally I didnt think of it that way. I didnt think I had the right to be traumatized from an assault I suffered as a teenager because it didnt fit the mold of violent rape. Dr. Ford is a hero and she is continuing to pay the price for speaking out. Shes moved four times, she continues to get death threats and shes had to hire a private security team. Her testimony was thoughtful and measured. Meanwhile Kavanaugh was angry and unhinged in his testimony and he is now a Supreme Court justice. The FBI didnt even interview Dr. Ford, nor did they interview multiple women who came forward to accuse him of rape and assault.

| Amber Heard fulfilled her obligations, wore Elie Saab to the 'London Fields' premiere | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Back when Amber Heard was still married to Johnny Depp, he basically pulled some strings with his friends and got her a job on the film London Fields. The film was a disaster from the start, and no one wanted it. Depp has a role in it too, and from what I remember, that was part of the deal ?if you hire Amber, I?ll take a role? and I don?t think any of it was done for the paycheck. In any case, London Fields has sat on a shelf for years. Lawsuits were tossed back and forth, and the lawsuits were mostly about how producers used CGI to make Amber look naked when she really filmed the scenes with her clothes on. It was stupidly complicated, especially considering as I said no one asked for this dumb movie.
Well, I guess Amber and the producers made some kind of peace, because the film is being released today, and last night was the LA premiere. Amber was there. She wore a boring Elie Saab gown and walked the red carpet and made sure she was photographed extensively. There?s an aura of ?this is my contractual obligation? around her. And honestly, the reviews are terrible. While I like Amber and wish her the best, she?s still a terrible actress, it seems. Meanwhile, Amber said words to the Associated Press about how she?s moved on:
?I am very happy that I have moved on with my life and keep moving on with my life. I just keep wanting to do with my life that which makes it better for other people and myself. And doing the right thing and moving forward and dedicating yourself to justice, truth, to doing whats right and helping others when you can thats everything to me. Thats all Im interested in. Its incredibly rewarding to be able to use what experience Ive lived and endured, suffered, survived through. Its amazing to be able to use ones experiences in life to help others, to help push the conversation forward, to change the conversation.?
[From The Daily Mail]
I hope she phases her life over to doing more charitable and advocacy work too, because I believe that she finds that work fulfilling, and she has a personal connection to it. Plus, it will keep her from acting, which? yay.

| Amber Heard tweeted a racist stereotype about an ICE checkpoint in LA | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I?m one of those ?Abolish ICE? people. I think ICE should be gone from this country completely. It was an experiment and it did not work out, because it gave badges and guns and power to racists and wannabe cowboys, and ICE agents been exploiting their power for years. If I saw an ICE checkpoint, I would warn people too. I would get on Twitter, I would get on the phone, I would do everything to warn people that ICE was trying to catch undocumented immigrants. Amber Heard had the same idea. She just had a terrible execution, and she came across as really racist.
Initially, Amber tweeted: ?Just heard there?s an ICE checkpoint in hollywood, a few blocks from where I live. Everyone better give their housekeepers, nannies and landscapers a ride home tonight.? Everyone called her out. The allies who want to abolish ICE called her out for engaging in racist stereotypes about undocumented immigrants being maids, nannies and landscapers. The Deplorables threw a party because they get to point at her and say ?look, the Hollywood actress is super-racist, and also ICE is doing God?s work.? She deleted the tweet, but of course people screengrabbed it:

| Amber Heard in bold, graphic Valentino in Cannes: stunning or cartoonish? | Added 6 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Gah, I am a sucker for a really bold and striking graphic on a big stage. So many women go for solid colors on a red carpet, which I understand it?s a safer choice, and if you go with a big, bold graphic, you might end up looking like you?re wearing a cartoon. But this is just? magnificent. These are photos from Cannes Day 3, the gala premiere of Sorry Angel. Amber Heard wore this incredible Valentino gown with one of the best ?skirts? of the year. Honestly, I don?t like the top part the gown should have had more coverage, even if she?s small-breasted enough to make this work without looking obscene. The slim boob-covers resemble suspenders and detract from the magnificence that is THE SKIRT.
Speaking of bold, here?s Cate Blanchett in Mary Katrantzou Spring 2018. It?s a puffy mullet dress. I imagine that it ?crunches? when she sits down. I mean, I like that Cate went bold and a little crazy. But this dress is not my cup of tea.
After all that big drama, La Seydoux in this Louis Vuitton mini-dress is kind of meh, right?
Araya A. Hargate in Ralph and Russo Fall 2017. The R&R made me think of Meghan Markle and wedding dresses, and then I couldn?t stop giggling because? imagine if Meghan Markle wore this on her wedding day?? Something with a sheer skirt and granny panties? Come on, the Queen would freak the fk out. Anyway, this gown is soap-opera-star-at-the-Daytime-Emmys.
Sui He also wore Ralph and Russo, this gown is from the Spring 2018 collection. To my eyes, this reads on-camera as an off-white, but technically it?s supposed to be ?pale mint green.? If Meghan Markle does go with R&R for her wedding gown, I hope it?s more like this the skirt of this gown is flat-out exquisite. The whole gown is gorgeous, but they wouldn?t let Meghan go strapless for her wedding!
