If you?re a fan of Zendaya and Tom Holland and want to see them in a movie together that doesn?t belong in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, then I have some great news for you! Late last week, Deadline and Variety announced that the couple have both been cast in Christopher Nolan?s next film. Tom?s casting was made public in October, so Zendaya is a new addition. Details about the movie itself are scarce, but Matt Damon and Anne Hathaway are also co-starring in this untitled movie. In addition to directing it, Nolan is also writing the film, which will begin filming in early 2025 and currently has a release date of July 17, 2026.
Zendaya is reuniting with Tom Holland on the big screen, this time at the direction of Christopher Nolan. The Dune and Challengers actress, 28, will be joining Nolans next film at Universal alongside Anne Hathaway, according to Deadline and Variety. The movie, which also stars Matt Damon, will be released in July 2026, the outlets reported.
Details of the films plot are reportedly under wraps.
Holland, 28, and Zendaya, who confirmed their romantic relationship in 2021, have previously teamed up for 2017s Spider-Man Homecoming, 2019s Spider-Man: Far From Home and 2021s Spider-Man: No Way Home.
Zendaya and Hathaway, 41, previously worked together on set of a Bulgari ad in 2022, while Hathaway and Nolans working relationship dates back to 2012?s The Dark Knight Rises and 2014?s Interstellar.
Nolans next movie will mark his follow-up to the 2023 blockbuster Oppenheimer, which also featured a performance from Damon, 54. Multiple outlets, including Deadline, The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, reported last month that Holland was in talks to star in the directors next movie alongside Damon. All three outlets indicated Nolans next movie would begin filming in early 2025.
On Good Morning America last month, Holland said of the Nolan project, I?m incredibly excited. And, obviously, honored, but that?s all I can say because, to be honest, that?s all I know.? The star has also indicated that a new Spider-Man movie will begin filming next year.
Earlier this year, Hathaway spoke with Vanity Fair for a cover story, when she detailed how Nolan, 54, helped her career during a period of online scrutiny in the 2010s. After her Oscar win for 2012s Ls Miserables, Hathaway said many people wouldn?t give her roles because they were so concerned about how toxic my identity had become online.
I had an angel in Christopher Nolan, who did not care about that and gave me one of the most beautiful roles I?ve had in one of the best films that I?ve been a part of, she said of Nolan and Interstellar.
?I don?t know if he knew that he was backing me at the time, but it had that effect,? she added. ?And my career did not lose momentum the way it could have if he hadn?t backed me.?
[From People]
It?s kinda crazy that Tom signed on to do the movie without knowing much about it at all. I mean, I?d do that too because?well, duh. A Nolan film is guaranteed Oscar bait. I?m excited to see what his and Zendaya?s roles will be and hope that they get to interact on screen together as characters that are completely different than we?re used to seeing them play. I?m sure both will kick butt in whatever part they?re cast as. We need more details about the movie, stat!
As for what Anne says regarding Nolan being her ?angel,? I actually finally watched Interstellar for the first time last month, and OMG! I cried so hard throughout several different parts. Anne, Matthew McConaughey, Jessica Chastain, and Michael Caine are all fantastic in it. It?s one of Mr. Rosie?s favorite movies, but I really did not like Inception and thought The Dark Knight Rises was just meh, so I avoided all Nolan movies until Oppenheimer. I feel like I?m now back on the Chris Nolan train. Im excited to watch Anne, Zendaya, and Tom in his next flick.

For a few years, Matthew McConaughey has been flirting with Texas?s state politics and there were strong rumors that he would run for governor. The issue was no one knew if Matthew is a Democrat or Republican, and he was mostly incoherent on important, vital issues. In the immediate wake of the Uvalde massacre two weeks ago, McConaughey once again chimed in, posting a statement on his social media in which he didn?t mention the words ?gun control? or ?Republicans are to blame? or ?the party of slaughtered children.?
I will give McConaughey credit for something though. He went to Uvalde. It?s his hometown, it?s where he was raised, it?s where he grew up. He went back to Uvalde with his wife Camila and they spent time with the families of murdered children. He spent time with the local coffin maker and congregations in crisis. And it changed him. He was invited to speak at the podium of the White House press room on Tuesday. Camila joined him. She held a pair of Converse sneakers belonging to 10-year-old Maite Rodriguez, who was murdered in her classroom. The only way Maite was identified was through the sneakers. Here?s the full press conference:
McConaughey spoke about how there is currently a ?window of opportunity? to pass meaningful gun control legislation, like universal background checks, raising the minimum age for purchasing an AR-15 and implementing red flag laws. He said: ?Responsible gun owners are fed up with the Second Amendment being abused and hijacked by some deranged individuals. These regulations are not a step back theyre a step forward for a civil society and, and the Second Amendment.?
He spoke at length about what he saw in Uvalde and the pain and anger within the town. He said, ?We got to take a sober, humble, and honest look in the mirror and rebrand ourselves based on what we truly value. What we truly value. We got to get some real courage and honor our immortal obligations instead of our party affiliations?Enough with the counterpunching. Enough of the invalidation of the other side. Lets come to the common table that represents the American people. Find a middle ground, the place where most of us Americans live anyway.? Again, I?m not going to criticize him, but I also don?t think there?s a middle ground to be had with the Party of Slaughtered Children. There was a window of opportunity after Sandy Hook as well? and the Party of Slaughtered Children decided that they were fine with babies being slaughtered in classrooms.

| Matthew McConaughey condemns the 'illiberal left' that 'patronizes' MAGA voters | Added 3 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I won?t speak about the ongoing Brexit shenanigans and what Brexit voters really mean or what they really believe. I have no idea, and I?m just not well-acquainted enough with the ins and outs of the data on Brexit voters. But I am well-acquainted with the realities of America?s MAGA demographic, arguably 30-46% of the country. And let me tell you something: if you voted for Donald Trump in 2016 or 2020, I honestly don?t care about you or what you have to say about a gdamn thing. Trump voters weren?t attracted to Trump out of ?economic insecurity? or because they ?felt left behind.? They voted for Trump because his racism, bigotry, hatred and misogyny spoke to them deeply. But, according to Russell Brand and Matthew McConaughey, this is all some kind of class warfare and we shouldn?t tell stupid racist aholes that they?re dumb as a box of hair.
Matthew McConaughey and Russell Brand have condemned the perceived hypocrisy of Hollywood political views in a raucous podcast. Speaking on Brand?s Luminary podcast, Under The Skin, earlier this week, the actors attacked those in the entertainment community who are urging Trump supporters to passively give up on hope of overturning the election results. Brand asked McConaughey whether he had noticed a ?condemnation and criticism of ordinary working people? by liberal Hollywood.
?[There is] a kind of offhandedness, like, ?Oh, they?re dumb, they?re voting for Brexit, they?re voting for Trump.? I don?t like it, and I don?t like to hear it,? Brand said.
McConaughey agreed, saying ?There are a lot [of people] on that illiberal left that absolutely condescend, patronize, and are arrogant towards the other 50 percent.?
The sore subject of the 2016 election was also a talking point between the actors.
?I?m sure you saw it in our industry when Trump was voted in four years ago, they were in denial that was real. Some of them were in absolute denial,? McConaughey told Brand.
That attitude is hypocritical, he contended.
?[Now] it looks like Biden?s our guy. Now you?ve got the right that?s in denial, cause their side has fake news. And I understand, they?ve been fed fake news. No one knows what the hell to believe, right? So they?re putting down their last bastion of defense,? McConaughey said.
McConaughey who describes himself as a liberal was born and raised in conservative Texas, and told Brand that he believes in the power of meeting in the middle. He claimed that both the left and the right have retreated too far into their own corners, saying: I almost feel like its a move to say, Lets get aggressively centric. I dare you.
[From Deadline & The Daily Mail]
Two white dudes making ?both sides? arguments out of their asses, basically. I barely have words for how much this enrages me. As soon as I read McConaughey uttering the words ?illiberal left,? I saw red. And let me say? in 2016, there was denial about the election because we were so fking depressed. We couldn?t believe that this was America, that a slim margin of people in a handful of states pushed the electoral college over for this racist lunatic. And the conspiracies were based on factual reporting, all of which turned out to be much worse than we knew in 2016. Trump was always Russia?s useful idiot. Trump was always up to his ass in treason and ratfking. He was literally coordinating with Russia for data dumps of hacked emails from the DNC. And to compare that with the millions of American Nazis who believe that, like, the ghost of Hugo Chavez rigged Dominion voting machines? Are you joking?
THIS IS INFURIATING.

| Matthew McConaughy wonders why both sides can't simply unite & fight the pandemic | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I understand people have nostalgia for ?a simpler time? when Americans of all political sides would have come together in a crisis. I would have liked to see that during the pandemic too, to have people across the political spectrum working together to help marginalized communities and ensure the safety of the population. Instead, we have morons armed with assault rifles storming state capitol buildings because they can?t get a haircut. We have a medical community overworked and under-resourced, and now fighting ?deep state conspiracies? about whether or not coronavirus data is being overinflated (it is not). The current problem is not that ?both sides? need to find a way to come together. The current problem is that one side has the left and middle ground and the other side is full of automatic-weapon-wielding racist moron-thugs who think viruses are some kind of liberal conspiracy. So? Matthew McConaughey made a PSA about how we need to work together.
Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey joined Special Report with Bret Baier Tuesday to discuss the politicization of the coronavirus pandemic and deliver a message of unity to Americans.
I could feel that this united purpose we all have as Americans to beat this enemy and this virus, that purpose got hijacked by partisan politics, McConaughey said. The narrative became, if you want to go to work, youre on the far right. If you dont go to work, you want to stay home, youre on the far left. And now even the mask wearing is getting politicized, where if you want to wear a mask, you wear a mask, youre a liberal. And if you dont, youre conservative. And thats just not true.
McConaughey said the politicization had divided America into fighting two wars, one against each other and the other against the virus. But if we try to fight the one against the virus, which is the one we should be fighting, McConaughey said. Were gonna beat it.
The actors message of unity is behind a recently released PSA with co-producer Roy Spence, which tells Americans that the coronavirus is not a political issue. Part of it is saying just that, to remind us that this is not about politics. Its about us, the USA, McConaughey said. Were gonna take care of each other. Right now we have a collective purpose. Look at who we are in World War II. And we have a crisis that came to us. We were united in that purpose. And all of a sudden the human factor started to get split and two tribes started fighting each other in partisan politics, McConaughey said. And that is not what we need. We need a collection right now. This is a tug of war at the virus. We need all hands on the rope.
McConaughey added that following social distancing guidelines and using masks were short term solutions to help science catch upI think theyre Band-Aids to hold off until science catches up, until theres not two patients for every one bed like there was in New York, until we see that an asymptomatic person doesnt give it to someone who didnt have it, McConaughey said. So we can protect the elderly, especially and the younger ones. This is unchartered waters. Theres not a playbook.
[From Fox News]
We were told to social-distance and go into lockdown and wear masks as a way to buy time for the government and the scientific community to catch up. And in two months of lockdown, all that?s happened is tens of thousands of deaths, armed morons being crazy, and a Republican White House more focused on shifting blame and squandering any and all goodwill. All of the things that should have happened in those two months did NOT happen. And it?s okay to talk about that too. Yeah, it would be great if we could come together as a country to work together and face this all as one. But? it?s not going to happen.
Honestly, I couldn?t even get through this PSA. This is just an ad for the Republican Party.

Matthew McConaughey is the latest star to join Instagram. As of this writing, he has a million followers, and he says in his first Instagram story, posted Monday, [Things just got] a lot cooler because I do [have an Instagram account]. In his first post, a video, he says, When people come to my page, I want them to see me, though admits that hes nervous about sharing his thoughts with people because (as he says with a laugh) he prefers a monologue to a dialogue, though he recognizes the value of being able to have a conversation with others. He also says that hes looking forward to sharing who I am with you.

Here are some photos of Matthew McConaughey at the TIFF premiere of White Boy Rick, the true story of Richard Wershe, a young kid in Detroit in 1984 who ends up being some kind of teenage drug kingpin. Matthew plays White Boy Rick?s father, Richard Senior. Richard is a single father raising his kids in Detroit in the ?80s, during the crack epidemic. All of this subject matter is fertile ground for political conversations during the promotional tour. An actor involved with the film could easily go off on tangents about the War on Drugs and the legacy of over-policing and incarceration for drug offenders. An actor could use the promotion to talk about the school-to-prison pipeline, and how communities of color have been ravaged by drugs, policing and mandatory-minimums. Matthew has done none of that. He thinks the story is a cautionary tale about? single-parenting.
Previously, he said some problematic sh-t about single parenting which made it seem like he believes that kids who grow up in single parent homes are always at a disadvantage. Well, he has more sh-t to say, and honestly, it?s like he?s trying to side-step the idea that he?s a Evangelical Republican or something.
How he said, post-2016 election, that people need to ?be constructive? when dealing with Trump. ?What I said, or thought I said is that people were in denial and we have to accept the fact that he?s president. Yes, I do [have my own views on Trump]. But to comment on him in this context, I?d have to be on camera and unedited?. It?s just that I don?t want to become clickbait. What you say is just turned into a headline that people click on.?
His thoughts on #MeToo: ?It?s an issue I have discussed with many women. We?re making progress, but are not there yet. Being paid equally is extremely important. It?s the same with race. Someday we?ll get to the point where women and minorities have equal opportunities. But we?re not there.?
Whether White Boy Rick is a story that?s fundamentally about the failure of the War on Drugs: ?Well, there are many ways of looking at it. This was the ?80s when neighborhoods in Detroit were falling apart. You could also see it in Cleveland when we were shooting the film. It?s the same cycle coming back again?the problem of single-parent families.?
[From The Daily Beast]
Is he dumb? I?m really asking. I never really considered the idea that maybe he?s just a dumb bunny. For one, I don?t think he has any notable thoughts on Trump beyond ?hey, give him a chance, bruh.? Secondly, his answer on #MeToo was utterly boilerplate, like he was reading off from a script his lawyer prepared. And as for him going back to the single-parent issue? I truly don?t understand his dumb mind. The War on Drugs, over-incarceration, the legacy of families and communities being ripped apart by incarceration over at times non-violent drug crimes? and all he keeps coming back to is the ?issue? of single-parent families. Fun fact: Pablo Escobar grew up in a two-parent household!! El Chapo also grew up in a two-parent home, but his father was physically abusive towards all of the kids. But it?s okay because TWO PARENT HOUSEHOLD. What?s going on with Matthew? Why does he sound like an Evangelical preacher warning of the sins of independent single moms?

Matthew McConaughey is a laid back guy who does his own thing. When I started this blog in 2006 we would get paparazzi photos of him barbecuing and drinking beers outside his airstream trailer, which was his only home. He was already a movie star at the point and he was living out of a trailer. He would regularly exercise outside barefoot, sometimes with his toothbrush sticking out the side of his mouth. Of course we?ve all heard about the naked bongo playing.
McConaughey has never been a ?party on yachts with supermodels? type of celebrity. He met Camila Alves when he was living in that trailer. She knew what she was getting into and she was cool with that. Of course he did buy a mansion (he lives next door to Pink!), married Camila in 2012, had three kids with her and the rest is history. We?ve never heard a peep about him being unfaithful or creepy. Not that he should get a cookie for being a decent guy, but that seems rare in his industry. At an event on Sunday (not the Oscars), McConaughey was asked what he?s grateful for. He said his kids and his wife, who lets him be himself. McConaughey was at an event held by the City Gala charity, where he was being given the 2018 Inspiration Honoree Award. He’s very active with his JK Living Foundation, which encourages high school students to live healthy lives:
Matthew McConaughey… took part in a Q&A with City Gala founder Ryan Long, and kicked off the conversation with his trademark phrase: ?Alright, alright, alright.?
When Long asked McConaughey what he?s most thankful for, the Texas native responded, ?My life, three healthy children,? before adding, ?[and] my wife Camila [Alves,] who doesn?t want to change me.?
The Oscar winner also added that one of his favorite quotes, ?just keep livin,? comes from spiritually wanting to keep his late father ? who passed away in 1992 while ?making love? to his mother ? alive…
When Us Weekly caught up with his brother, Mike ?Rooster? McConaughey, in January 2017, he opened up about the advice his younger sibling had given him about staying genuine in the industry as he took on a role in an A&E reality show called Rooster & Butch.
?I think some of the best advice was when [my business partner] Butch [Gilliam] and I agreed to get into this show business. He [Matthew] just said, ?Whatever you do, you guys just be you,?? he told Us. ?Just be you and it?s going to be great. Just be you no matter what.??
[From US Weekly]
I haven?t covered McConaughey in a while and I always enjoy him. He has homespun wisdom and such a unique way of looking at the world. I love that advice he gave his brother about staying true to himself. This is food for thought for me, in that it?s relationship goals to find someone who lets you be yourself, and who appreciates your uniqueness. I bet he does the same for Camila. These two go to events and support each other, but they?re low key. I want to see them grow old together.
Also, I haven’t checked out Camila’s Instagram before and it’s a gem.
Happy valentines … all the love! ??????muito amor a todos!

This is Matthew McConaughey.
Seriously.
This is really Matthew McConaughey. MM was pap?d in NYC over the weekend working on his latest movie, Gold. He plays Kenny Wells, described as a ?struggling businessman? who teams up with a character played by (scorching HOT) Edgar Ramirez to search for gold in Indonesia. I think MM has actually been filming this movie for a while, they just filmed all the ?jungle? parts already, (maybe they filmed those scenes in Thailand?).
It?s widely believed in many circles that McConaughey got hairplugs many years ago. I?m trying to think back to when his hair really changed. His hairline started really receding in the mid to late ?90s, then magically, it started to ?grow back? in the early ?00s. I mention this hair conspiracy because if Matthew had gone completely natural, this might be what he would really look like at this point. Granted, I don?t think Matthew would ever let himself get this kind of paunch in real life. I don?t even think this paunch is real, for the movie. I think he?s wearing padding. I?m almost sure of it.
I have to wonder? I realize that McConaughey is a big Oscar-winning actor now, but if they needed an actor to play a schlub, certainly the first thought was not ?let?s cast McConaughey,? right? Because just in these photos, I?m already wondering why they didn?t just cast Paul Giamatti. It really looks like McConaughey is doing a Giamatti impersonation.
Also: even if McConaughey did gain weight for this role, I don?t hate it. I wish more actors and actresses gained weight for movies. I wish Michael Fassbender would take a role where he had to gain weight. Same with Benedict Cumberbatch! I like a man with a little bit of pudge.

| Matthew McConaughey & Camila Alves celebrate her American citizenship | Added 9 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

I knew Camila Alves is from Brazil, but she?s been living in America for work and for her family for more than a decade, so this news surprises me. Camila became an American citizen this week. Seriously, it took that long! She lived in common-law marriage with Matthew McConaughey for so many years, all of their children were born in America (and all the kids are American citizens), and it?s only now that she was granted citizenship.
Matthew tweeted the photo of their family celebrating in what looks like a courtroom. He posted this message: ?congratulations Camila on getting your U.S. citizenship today- another fellow and great American.? Camilla posted the same photo with the message: ?Happy to say I now hold an American passport! I have so much respect and appreciation for this country. #newuscitizen.?
It?s possible that Camila simply lost track of time and applied for citizenship later than I would have expected. It?s also possible that her citizenship process didn?t begin until 2012, which is when she and Matthew married. The citizenship track isn?t easy on anyone, but it?s slightly easier if you?re married to an American citizen. That might have been one of the reasons why Camila ?pressured? Matthew to marry her (those were his words, by the way).
My father became an American citizen after he married my mom and after I was born ? he sort of did it out of necessity though, for work, so he could get a security clearance. He loved his adopted country though and he always said he enjoyed studying for his citizenship test. Anyway, I?m covering this because I love naturalization stories!
