| Brad Pitt turned down the Neo role in 'The Matrix?: 'I took the red pill' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of Brad Pitt at the Santa Barbara International Film Festivals Maltin Modern Master Award thing. It was basically a Q&A session or ?conversation with? event for Brad. He spoke about his career and various films he?s proud of, he joked about Fight Club and other stuff. What?s interesting is that he also talked about a film he passed on! Jennifer Lopez did this recently too and she blew my mind when she said she was offered Unfaithful and she turned it down. Now Brad says he was offered Neo in The Matrix:
Once Upon a Time in Hollywood star Brad Pitt was feted at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival on Wednesday for his superstar career filled with wildly successful performances. But his evening of career retrospective while receiving the Leonard Maltin Modern Master Award would not have been complete without discussing the culturally dominant film that he did NOT appear in. The Matrix.
During the stage interview, moderator Maltin pushed a highly reluctant Pitt to name one role he had passed on. Finally, Pitt agreed to give just one. I did pass on The Matrix, said Pitt, as the sold-out film festival theater audience roared. Without missing a beat he added with a smile, I took the red pill.Thats the only one Im naming.
Last year, during the 20th anniversary of The Matrix, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura said Pitt was one of a handful of A-list stars considered for the Neo role ? including Sandra Bullock, Will Smith and Leonardo DiCaprio ? before it was given to Keanu Reeves. Pitt made it clear he had the offer and was at the top of the list. I wasn?t offered two or three. Only the first one, he said. Just to clarify that.
I come from a place, maybe it?s my upbringing, if I didn?t get it, then it wasn?t mine, he said. I really believe (the role) was never mine. Its not mine. It was someone else?s and they go and make it. I really do believe in that. Pitt added with a laugh, If we were doing a show on the great movies I?ve passed on, we would need two nights.
[From USA Today]
Weirdly, I believe Brad was offered the role, but I bet he wasn?t the first choice? The ?90s were crazy, but one thing has remained the same for decades: Leo DiCaprio is generally offered every script first. It?s true. I don?t like that it?s true, but it is. Was Brad the #2 choice? Hm. Anyway, Brad would have been awful in it and I?m glad Keanu eventually got it. Another sliding door casting decision: Angelina Jolie initially passed on Mr. and Mrs. Smith, then the role went to Nicole Kidman, then Kidman left and it came back to Angelina, who finally agreed to it. So? imagine if Nicole had done that movie? I mean?

| Gwen Stefani is ready to marry Blake Shelton without an annulment | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton adore each other. They?ve been together for more than four years. Everybody wants them to get married. At first, I thought Blake was gun-shy about marriage after his second marriage (to Miranda Lambert) had a disastrous end. But I?ve revised by theory Blake wants to marry Gwen but she?s the one holding things up. Why is that? Because she?s Catholic and she wants her first marriage (to Gavin Rossdale) annulled. As many Catholic commenters have noted, this is kind of bonkers Gavin and Gwen were married for more than a decade, their union produced children and of course the church would have an issue with annulling that marriage. Well, maybe Gwen has finally realized that she was being kind of crazy?
Gwen Stefani is finally ready to take the next step with Blake Shelton. For the past year, the songstress has been desperately trying to have her marriage to ex-husband Gavin Rossdale annulled so she can marry the country singer in a Catholic church. But because the lengthy process is delaying their plans, sources exclusively reveal in the new issue of Us Weekly that the devout Catholic has decided she?ll marry Shelton ? with or without the pope?s blessing.
?She very much wants the marriage to be recognized by the church,? says a source, but she also understands that Shelton?s been restless. Unfortunately, the process has caused ?tense moments? between them, adds a second insider.
As Us previously reported in March 2019, the couple of four years ?began the formal process? because ?Gwen?s religion has always been extremely important to her.?
Now Stefani, 50, and Shelton, 43, are getting serious about the future. The second insider says the pair are looking to have a church ceremony in Beverly Hills and a big party at Shelton?s Oklahoma ranch. Babies are also on the brain. The mom of Kingston, 13, Zuma, 11, and Apollo, 5 (whom she shares with 54-year-old Rossdale), would love another child, says another source, but ?if it doesn?t happen, Blake?s content with her three kids.?
[From Us Weekly]
Wow, did Blake tell her that he needed to put a ring on it or else? Way to go, Blake! I respect that Gwen was being foolish with the annulment and a person can still be a good person, a good Catholic and a divorcee without an annulment. She and Blake adore each other I hope they get married soon.

| Sarah Jessica Parker is on 'Team Big' rather than 'Team Aidan' for Carrie Bradshaw | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

So much of the original Sex and the City TV series feels dated, but I think people still enjoy it and enjoy talking about it because of A) the characters? friendships and B) the core romantic relationship holds up, the one between Big and Carrie. Even though SATC was an absurd fantasy in so many ways, there was a ?realness? to the mess between Big and Carrie. He treated her like sh-t. He cheated on his wife with her. He gave her enough to keep her coming back. She only wanted to show him the superficial/fake side of herself. And on and on. I always liked the Aidan character, but I thought/knew he was completely wrong for Carrie. And Sarah Jessica Parker knows it too. She was asked again about Big and Aidan and all of that:
Sarah Jessica Parker finally reveals her true feelings about Carrie Bradshaw?s choice in men. Her ?Sex and the City? character famously dated Aidan (John Corbett) during Season 3 when she cheated on him with her on-again-off-again love interest John Preston, a.k.a. Mr. Big (Chris Noth). Bradshaw ultimately married Big, but kissed Aiden after a chance meeting in Abu Dhabi in the second film.
?As you can imagine, this puts me in a terrible position,? Parker said when she was asked which guy she would?ve chosen for Carrie on ?The Bradshaw Boys? podcast, where she was invited to speak about her new wine, Invivo X. ?There is a very quick and simple answer. You have to be Team Big?I guess, only because you can?t tell a story that long and not in the most conventional way kind of root for that ending. And I love Chris Noth so much, and it felt wonderfully and skillfully written by Michael Patrick [King].?
However, the 54-year-old actress still thinks any girl would be lucky to have Aidan.
?I love John Corbett so much and I loved Aidan. I loved his Aidan,? she said. ?The best of both worlds is in fact having your cake and eating it too. So I feel like I got both teams.? She added conclusively, ?Ultimately, Carrie should have ended up with Big, but it was a delight to mess around before she arrived at that.?
[From Page Six]
As I get older, my feelings on all of these characters change, honestly. Aidan was the guy who would have made Carrie a better person, who would have challenged her and made her grow (up). But ultimately, she didn?t want that she wanted Big, she wanted the fantasy, she wanted the guy who would be ?withholding? and play games with her. But yes, at a story level, of course Carrie had to end up with Big. That?s the only thing that would have made sense. And frankly, Big and Carrie deserved each other.

| Angelina Jolie's BBC program will focus on teaching kids to stop fake news | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

My aunt passed away a few years ago, but before she died, she was the kind of person who believed every single thing she heard on conservative radio, and she regularly regurgitated Fox News talking points almost verbatim. It was? difficult. Even when I tried to fact-check in real time when she was mid-rant about Obummer getting secret money from Ghaddafi (or something?), it was like her brain stopped, crashed, then rebooted and she just kept believing the same thing Fox News told her. My point is that there are a lot of people who could use a primer in how to read and watch and listen to ?news.? Angelina Jolie is just focusing on teaching those lessons to kids:
Angelina Jolie and the BBC want to give young viewers real tools to stop fake news, Jolie will executive produce ?BBC My World,? a program that explains the stories behind news and offers facts and information that helps kids over the age of 13 make up their own minds on pressing international issues. The series will tap the reporting of the BBC World Service and is a co-production with Jolie and Microsoft Education. The BBC will retain final editorial approval of content in the series.
?As a parent I am happy to be able to give my support to a program that aims to help children learn more about the lives of other young people around the world, and connect to them to each other,? says Jolie in a prepared statement. ?I hope it will help children find the information and tools they need to make a difference on the issues that matter to them, drawing on the BBC World Service?s network of thousands of journalists and multiple language services around the world.?
The weekly half-hour program will be broadcast via BBC World News, the organization?s most-watched channel. It will air each Sunday at 11:30 a.m. eastern, and its content will be shared with BBC?s 42 different language services. It will also be made available via a YouTube channel and the BBC iPlayer in the United Kingdom. Producers see the show as a tool to help young audiences, who are allowed to roam on many social-media outlets, but come across all kinds of news content aimed at adults, yet have less of a grasp about how to distinguish content by levels of quality.
[From Variety]
In my day yes, I?m old this was considered more of a lesson in government/civics starting in middle school and continuing through high school. There wasn?t one singular class on media-engagement and, like, media criticism or media ethics, but it was seen as more adjacent to discussions about history and politics and citizenship. But I like the idea of a stand-alone program, a tool for kids to get a better grasp of news and fake news and all of that. And yes, there should be something like that for adults too, because the old folks watching Fox News are not okay.

| Taylor Swift has been dealing with an eating disorder for years | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are photos of Taylor Swift at the Sundance Film Festival?s opening-night premiere of Taylor Swift: Miss Americana, her Netflix documentary. I friggin? love her outfit here. It?s a wide-leg, sleeveless jumpsuit with a matching coat and it looks stunning on her. My only little nit-pick is that she should have just worn black heels the matching boots were not necessary. But otherwise, one of the best outfits I?ve seen on Taylor in a while. I want that coat.
As we?ve seen, Taylor is promoting and previewing the documentary in earnest this week, and Variety had coverage on a subject Taylor discusses in the film: her struggles with an eating disorder.
In the documentary: In one of the most revealing and surprising segments of the Netflix film, Swift talks for several minutes about having struggled in the past with an eating disorder. After being pictured facing a phalanx of photographers after she emerges from her front door, Swift is heard in voiceover saying that ?it?s not good for me to see pictures of myself every day.? Although she says ?it?s only happened a few times, and I?m not in any way proud of it,? Swift admits there have been times in the past when she?s seen ?a picture of me where I feel like I looked like my tummy was too big, or? someone said that I looked pregnant ? and that?ll just trigger me to just starve a little bit ? just stop eating.?
Talking about body image: ?I didn?t know if I was going to feel comfortable with talking about body image and talking about the stuff I?ve gone through in terms of how unhealthy that?s been for me ? my relationship with food and all that over the years? I?m not as articulate as I should be about this topic because there are so many people who could talk about it in a better way. But all I know is my own experience. And my relationship with food was exactly the same psychology that I applied to everything else in my life: If I was given a pat on the head, I registered that as good. If I was given a punishment, I registered that as bad.?
It started early for her: ?I remember how, when I was 18, that was the first time I was on the cover of a magazine. And the headline was like ?Pregnant at 18?? And it was because I had worn something that made my lower stomach look not flat. So I just registered that as a punishment. And then I?d walk into a photo shoot and be in the dressing room and somebody who worked at a magazine would say, ?Oh, wow, this is so amazing that you can fit into the sample sizes. Usually we have to make alterations to the dresses, but we can take them right off the runway and put them on you!? And I looked at that as a pat on the head. You register that enough times, and you just start to accommodate everything towards praise and punishment, including your own body.?
She was undereating a lot in 2017/2018: ?I thought that I was supposed to feel like I was going to pass out at the end of a show, or in the middle of it. Now I realize, no, if you eat food, have energy, get stronger, you can do all these shows and not feel (enervated).? Swift says she doesn?t care so much now if someone comments on a weight gain, and she?s reconciled ?the fact that I?m a size 6 instead of a size double-zero.? Swift says she was completely unaware that anything was wrong in her double-zero era, and had a defense at the ready should it come up. If anyone expressed concern, she?d say, ??What are you talking about? Of course I eat. ?. I exercise a lot.? And I did exercise a lot. But I wasn?t eating.?
[From Variety]
That sucks and good on Taylor for talking about it it?s something so many girls and women go through as normal un-famous people, now imagine how magnified it is when you?re as famous as Taylor and getting pap?d all over New York and hanging out with models all the time. That era of ?Taylor the Model? was earlier than the period she?s discussing though that really started in 2014-15, and I wonder if that?s when her chronic undereating started.
Here?s the trailer for Netflix?s Taylor Swift: Miss Americana.

| Prince William & Duchess Kate are 'still reeling' in the wake of Sussexit' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

We?ve finally reached a point where the Sussexit drama has died down significantly, and we?re just left discussing the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. Pussybows, busy-work, buttons and five-question surveys, oh my! At long last, Kate launched her Early Years initiative this week, following about 18 months of hype about how Early Years would be her legacy project, that it was the culmination of EIGHT YEARS of duchessing, that it would be full of groundbreaking? stuff. Vague stuff which would be super-important. And it turned out to be a basic survey, the results of which would inform Kate where to go from here. Katie Nicholl at Vanity Fair emphasized that while attempting to embiggen Kate?s struggle-survey.
Speaking about the new survey and the work she is spearheading, Kate said, ?As a parent, I know how much we cherish the future health and happiness of our children. I want to hear the key issues affecting families and communities so I can focus my work on where it is needed most. My ambition is to provide lasting change for generations to come.?
The Duchess has spent months doing a deep dive in to the early years for children, and the importance of positive experiences and a secure upbringing for pre-schoolers. The new online poll, conducted by Ipsos Mori on behalf of the Royal Foundation, is thought to be the biggest survey of its kind and aims to encourage a nationwide conversation on early childhood. Parents are asked to answer five key questions about child development.
[From Vanity Fair]
It?s ?thought to be the biggest survey of its kind and aims to encourage a nationwide conversation on early childhood.? Well, that?s appropriately vague. Is the survey supposed to inform Kate about what she should do next, or is the survey the beginning and the end, because Kate started a ?conversation?? Seriously, Kensington Palace half-assed this so badly.
Meanwhile, Katie Nicholl has been talking a lot about the emotions Kate and William have been going through post-Sussexit. Earlier this week, Nicholl said that the Cambridges got a ?huge boost? from their joint appearance in Bradford and ?They?ve stuck to the tried-and-tested approach, promoting a united Royal family and it?s a success.? They literally shoved Meghan and Harry out the door out of jealousy, but go off. Now Nicholl says that the Cambridges are ?still reeling? from Sussexit:
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge are still reeling from Prince Harry and Meghan Markles decision to quit the royal family, according to a royal expert. Commentator Katie Nicholl revealed Prince William, 37, and Kate Middleton, 38, were still coming to terms with the reality of the Sussexes choice.
Speaking about Prince Harry, 35, and the Cambridges on-going relationship, she told Entertainment Tonight: I think the severity of what?s happened has had a huge impact on his brother, on his sister-in-law.
Katie went on to say Meghan and Harrys shocking decision to step back from had left the Cambridges stunned. She said: Both of them are still reeling from the news, coming to terms with the reality of this situation.
[From The Daily Mail]
I do wonder if the Cambridges are feeling a bit like ?be careful what you wish for.? William clearly wanted to exile the Sussexes for more than a year, and he was working steadily towards that one goal. But did Kate want to see them gone? Kate?s press was never better than when the press had Meghan as their favorite punching bag. Anyway? get used to this, all we?ve got is this dull couple now.
