| Jennifer Love Hewitt: I Gave Matt Damon a Bed | Added 10 years ago | Source: Celebrity Gossip |

No one ever accused her of being ordinary and it turns out Jennifer Love Hewitt has her own opinions on what constitutes an appropriate gift.
During her interview on ? Jimmy Kimmel Live? last night (September 29) the ?I Know What You Did Last Summer? star recalled a time when she was 19 or 20 and decided to send Matt Damon a bed while he was filming in Paris, France.
J Love shared, ?I?m not a normal person? [I read that he said] all his dreams were coming true in the business? but he didn?t ever really feel like he had a bed of his own.?
?I remember being really busy also and thinking that?s so sad, to have all your dreams come true, but not feel like you have a solid foundation. So for some reason, I though an AeroBed would help that for him.?
Jennifer continued, ?In my head, I was like, ?He can travel with it. Then it?s always his safe place.? I should?ve been like, ?Hey Jimmy, What do you think? Should I send this to Matt Damon?? and you probably would?ve been like, ?No you?re crazy, don?t do it!? But I didn?t, so I got the information he was in Paris, filming something, so I sent it to Paris.?
Unfortunately Matt never sent a thank-you note!

| Keira Knightley: 'I don't think you can say that beauty is a curse' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
Keira Knightley covers the new issue of Glamour UK. I?m not crazy-jazzed about the photoshoot, but that?s mostly about the questionable clothes Keira?s wearing. Her face is perfection though ? if anything, I think she?s more beautiful these days than when she was younger. Her coltish, youthful beauty is being transformed into something more substantial and even more striking and enchanting. Plus, she just seems more comfortable in her own skin these days. Some highlights from the Glamour interview:
She doesn?t want her future daughter to be an actress: ?I should imagine that if she wanted to act, I wouldn?t have a choice but, no, I certainly wouldn?t recommend it. It can be completely heartbreaking for most people who do it, because the amount of rejection is enormous. And it doesn?t matter what kind of person you are, it?s impossible for that not to take a toll. Even if you?re successful, you still have to go through a s—load of rejection. So I would say to my daughter: ?Be a doctor or a lawyer ? something stable and useful.??
On her good looks: ?I don?t think you can say that they?re a curse. It would be stupid of me to say that my looks haven?t played a part in my career, because obviously they have. And obviously they have got be contracts with Chanel, but there have been as many, if not more, parts that I haven?t got because of the way I look. So I suppose it balances out.?
Being famous when she was younger: ?I reached my peak of grown-up behaviour at 20 and 21, and it?s been downhill since then. I was terribly sensible as a teenager but I?ve got far less so as I?ve grown up, which has been a huge relief for everyone ? including my parents. I?m not actually worried about turning 30. Because, honestly, my early 20s were not much fun. Then, after 25, things just got better and better. Maybe you stop caring as much about where you should be going and what other people think.?
Her wedding to James Righton: ?It was a bloody good day and a lot of fun. And yes, being married feels pretty good. You only get to choose one member of your family and I made a good choice. So well done, me!?
Her favorite style icons are Bjork & Helena Bonham Carter: ?I always think that all the people on those ?red cross? lists are the best dressed. That swan dress was my all-time favourite. I?m always telling my stylist, ?Don?t make me too proper!? If it?s perfect, I?m not interested.?
Don?t call her ?babe?: ?I don?t really notice ?love? or ?darling?, but ?babe? I do find really tricky.?
[From Glamour & The Telegraph]
I always think ?darling? is more of British thing, along with calling someone ?love.? Although, funny (and true story): my deli guy calls me ?love.? It?s the weirdest thing. I?m just trying to order ham and he?s always like, ?Can I help you, love?? He?s younger than me too. Weird, right? I think the more American terms of endearment are probably “honey” and “babe”.
And I like what Keira says about her looks ? it?s so much better than hearing an actress complain about her overwhelming beauty being a terrible hindrance. I?ve heard Keira say before that producers thought she would be ?too pretty? to play Lizzie Bennett in Pride & Prejudice and when she came in to audition, they were like, ?Oh, nevermind, you?re not that pretty.? Ha!

| Jennifer Love Hewitt sent Matt Damon a bed in the late 90s and he ignored her | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

This is one of the more cringe-worthy stories I’ve heard, but nobody beats Jennifer Love Hewitt when it comes to self deprecating dating stories. Jennifer was a guest on the Jimmy Kimmel show last night. She told Jimmy that her 10 month-old daughter, Autumn, is walking already and she gushed about her like a proud, happy mom. She also praised her husband, Brian Hallisay, for being great with her during the birthing process. After that she told a story about how she sent a bed to Matt Damon through the mail and never got a “thank you” card from him. She really did this. Hewitt explained that she was just 20 years old (that would have been 1999), that it was in the post-Good Will Hunting phase, and that Damon had complained in an interview that he was traveling so much that he didn’t feel like he had his own bed to come home to. Hewitt took him literally and sent him an Aerobed to Paris, a move she now realizes was somewhat dumb.
“I was reading an article and he said this really sad thing about how all his dreams were coming true but he didn’t feel that he had a bed of his own, he was always traveling.”
“I remember being really busy also and thinking that’s so sad, to have all your dreams come true but not have a solid foundation. So for some reason, I though an aerobed would help that for him,” she admitted, laughing.
“In my head, I thought, ‘He can travel with it, then it’s always his safe place.’ I didn’t go over it with anyone, I should’ve been like, ‘Hey, should I send this to Matt Damon?’ and they would’ve been like, ‘No you’re crazy, don’t do it!’ But I didn’t, so I got the information he was in Paris, filming something, so I sent it to Paris.”
Sadly for Hewitt, the gift didn’t appear to go down well with Damon. “I never got a ?thank you,?” she admitted. “It made me sad. I understand maybe his security never gave it to him, that’s a possibility.”
[From US Magazine]
Kimmel, who has a long history with Damon, said “you know why you didn’t get a thank you? Because he’s a creep. He’s got no class. What kind of person doesn’t thank another person for not sending them a bad.” Hewitt said “It made me sad in my heart.” Aww, she’s always chasing guys and getting rebuffed. Even though she’s married now with a little girl she’s still telling us about it because her foibles make for good stories. She knows this, the beautiful famous woman who could be a case study for “He’s Just Not That Into You.” I jest, I like J.Love and her silly stories of lost love. She might have been able to hook Damon with a little more finesse. Sending a dude a bed is in no way subtle.
Here’s J.Love telling the story of how she sent Matt Damon a bed:

| LeAnn Rimes & Eddie Cibrian are being sued by their former housekeeper | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
We?ve got two funny, horrible stories about LeAnn Rimes today. The stories are funny for us because LeAnn sounds horrible, just FYI. I?m not laughing at LeAnn?s victims? pain and suffering. First up, LeAnn and Eddie are being sued by a former housekeeper because the housekeeper says she was bullied by LeAnn and Eddie?s other employees and Eddie?s mom.
One of LeAnn Rimes and Eddie Cibrian’s ex-housekeepers doesn’t take kindly to being called a fat old lady, or being fired just for being from El Salvador … so she’s suing the couple.
Gloria Cevallos says things started to go South in the Rimes-Cibrian household when 2 other female employees started beefing with her. According to Gloria’s lawsuit, the women called her a vieja gorda (fat old lady) … and a pinche vieja salvadorena (old Salvadoran bitch).
Gloria cops to being Salvadoran … not the other stuff.
Cevallos says she overheard Eddie’s mom bitching about problems around the house … and demanding he fire someone over it. She says Eddie’s madre eventually showed her la puerta.
We’ve called Eddie and LeAnn’s camp for comment … so far no word back.
Their ex-maid is suing for back pay, and this is kinda unique … she also wants “front pay.” Basically, she wants them to pay her until she finds another job.
[From TMZ]
I have no idea if this woman has a legal leg to stand on, but it seems like the kind of thing that could easily ?go away? if LeAnn and Eddie just throw some money at her. It doesn?t even sound like she wants that much ? probably just the equivalent of three or four months? pay, which is probably cheaper to just give her rather than fight it in court.
As for the other story? I?ve written about Ilana Angel before. She?s a blogger/columnist who has been very critical of LeAnn in the past. I think Angel?s LeAnn-specific criticisms are usually on target and Angel has a funny perspective on all things LeAnn. Well, Angel recently announced that she was going to attend one of LeAnn?s concerts. And LeAnn the Stalker heard about it and had Angel banned from the show and ejected by armed deputies. You can read Angel?s column about the incident here ? it?s really, really funny and profoundly disturbing.

| Taylor Swift on feminism, gender equality: 'We have to stop making it a girlfight' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
You know what genuinely surprised me last week? I was surprised that Emma Watson?s speech on feminism and gender equality at the United Nations became such a huge deal. The video (and text) went viral and it seemed like everybody had an opinion about it. While I thought Emma?s speech was very good, I really didn?t think it was groundbreaking in the least. I mean, she didn?t throw down any feminist gauntlets or anything like that. She just eloquently described feminism and how it affects her life. Anyway, Taylor Swift has only recently self-identified as feminist and she too has some thoughts on Emma?s speech. Swifty gave an interview to the French-Canadian talk show Tout Le Monde En Parle (you can see the video here). Some assorted quotes:
Swifty on watching Emma?s speech: ?I wish I was 12 years old and I?d been able to watch a video of my favorite actress explaining in such an intellectual, beautiful, poignant way the definition of feminism because I would have understood it and then earlier on in my life I would have proudly claimed that I was a feminist because I would?ve understood what the word means.?
Gender equality: ?The one thing I do believe as a feminist is that in order for us to have gender equality we have to stop making it a girl fight and we have to stop being so interested in seeing girls trying to tear each other down ? it has to be more about cheering each other on as women.?
On how many girls don?t understand what feminism means: ?So many girls out there say ?I?m not a feminist? because they think it means something angry or disgruntled or complaining. They picture like rioting and picketing, it is not that at all, it just simply means that you believe that women and men should have equal rights and opportunities? To say you?re not a feminist means that you think men should have more rights and opportunities than women.?
Her view on sexism in the media: ?I think when it comes to females in the media you?ll see something that kind of upsets me which is that females are pinned up against each other more so than men. You know you never see ?vote for who has the better butt – this actor or this actor.? It?s always this female singer and this female singer.?
Female artists expressing their sexuality: ?I think that no other female artist should be able to tell me to wear less clothes and I?m not going to tell any other female artist to wear more clothes. As long as it?s their idea, and they?re expressing their sexuality or they?re expressing their strength or it makes them feel like a woman to perform a certain way or dress a certain way? as long as it?s coming from them and they?re living their life on their own terms, I cheer them on.
[From Buzzfeed]
Our little Swifty is growing up, y?all. Her explanation of how she views gender equality and sexism are much, much better. Taylor used to be one of those girls who thought ?feminist? equaled ?man-hating.? Then Lena Dunham (of all people) converted Swifty to feminism, but Swifty still couldn?t explain it properly. She?s made significant improvements very quickly. Good for her!

| Amanda Bynes was arrested (again) for a DUI after her conservatorship ended | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
In 2012 and 2013, Amanda Bynes was a mess. CB and I debated her issues just amongst ourselves, and my takeaway was always that Amanda has legit mental health issues, plus substance abuse problems that go further than ?she likes to smoke pot.? It wouldn?t surprise me if Amanda was/is an alcoholic, nor would it surprise me if Amanda?s substance abuse included meth, heroin, cocaine and basically anything she could get her hands on. After multiple arrests and legal situations on both coasts, Amanda finally was forcibly put into some kind of rehab/treatment center for three months. Amanda?s mother was also appointed conservator over Amanda?s money and her medical situation.
Skip ahead to April of this year? in a weird, out-of-nowhere move, Amanda?s lawyer and her mom issued statements about Amanda?s progress. They claimed she was ?cured? because she was no longer smoking pot, and that she had no mental condition (like schizophrenia, which was the armchair-diagnosis that had gotten a lot of traction). Additionally, her lawyer said that Amanda was completely drug-free, as in she was not on any medication for any mental health issue. It all seemed like another disaster was inevitable. Well, guess what? Yep.
Sad news for Amanda Bynes. The 28-year-old actress was arrested on Sunday morning at 3 a.m. for DUI, the California Highway Patrol confirms to E! News. She has been charged with a misdemeanor after police “determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance” while driving. The former Nickelodeon star was held at the Van Nuys, Calif., station on $15,000 bail before she was released at 12:44 p.m. that same day.
According to officials, Bynes was traveling westbound on Riverside Drive in Sherman Oaks as she approached the intersection at a red light on Van Nuys Boulevard. She stopped for the red light, but she stopped in the middle of the intersection, at which point the actress was pulled over and “given a series of field sobriety tests, which she was unable to complete.”
Bynes was then transported to the CPH West Valley Office where she was given a drug evaluation test that determined she was under the influence of a controlled substance (the substance is unknown). She currently has an upcoming court date scheduled for Oct. 23.
[From E! News]
TMZ?s sources (probably the arresting officers) say that Amanda was on a ?stimulant? while driving, but the exact drug is not known at this time. Sources also say that Amanda is back to smoking weed all the time now. This arrest will probably affect her probation ? she was sentenced to three years? probation last February. Oh, here?s something I didn?t know: Amanda?s conservatorship ended in early September. Ah!!! That makes more sense. Amanda was back on her own and she fell back into her terrible habits.
PS? Michael K at Dlisted says that THIS is Amanda?s undercover Twitter account. Hm. Whoever it is, she?s been posting TBT photos of vintage Amanda Bynes. So, yeah, why not?

| Amal Alamuddin & George Clooney's wedding photos cover People, Hello Mags | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Lainey at LaineyGossip was right! George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin did not give/sell their first wedding photos to Vogue. Sources told Lainey that George and Amal negotiated some kind of Brangelina-like deal with People Magazine and Hello to publish the official photos. And here we are! People and Hello released their covers early this morning – People chose the photo of George and Amal looking at each other and Hello chose the photo of them looking at the camera for their cover. Brangelina got something like $3-5 million for their wedding photos. I wonder how much George and Amal got? FOR CHARITY! I will donate $5 to their charity if they name it The Alamooney Foundation. Here’s some of People’s write-up:
After George Clooney and Amal Alamuddin exchanged traditional vows, platinum bands and, yes, a lengthy kiss at their 30-minute wedding ceremony on Sept. 27 in Venice, Italy, the newlyweds turned to their family and friends. And the place went wild. Cheers and applause filled the gilded hall at Italy’s historic Aman Canal Grande Venice as around 100 guests, many with tears in their eyes, celebrated the much-anticipated union of the Oscar winner and his barrister bride. The intimate wedding ? including 25 exclusive photos of the emotional ceremony, star-studded parties and all the sweet candid moments ? is featured in this week’s issue of PEOPLE, in conjunction with Hello! magazine internationally.
Marriage, Clooney, 53, tells PEOPLE, “feels pretty damn great.”
“George and Amal radiated love all night,” Alamuddin’s mother Baria tells PEOPLE. “The wedding was so unbelievably special, it was legendary. These three days ? the friends, the families, the atmosphere, everything ? will stay with me all the rest of my life.”
One of four loved ones to deliver heartfelt speeches during the short ceremony, Baria, an editor at the Arabic newspaper Al-Hayat, addressed Clooney at one point. “I said, ‘George, we love you truly, deeply and sincerely. We enjoy your charm, your wit, intelligent conversation and generosity. You are simply perfect.’ ”
His tux wasn’t so bad either. Created by Giorgio Armani as part of his Made to Measure collection, the black tuxedo in ultra-fine wool/cashmere was paired with a white shirt, black bow tie and oxfords in smooth, brushed black leather. (To finish off his look, Clooney wore customized cufflinks, a gift from his bride, with “George” inscribed in Arabic.)
“It is a privilege and a pleasure for me to dress him for this occasion, in which he stars in the most important role: that of the groom,” Armani tells PEOPLE.
“[Giorgio is] the class act of all class acts,” the actor says. “He’s been a good friend for many years and the night wouldn’t be complete without him.”
Of course nothing could upstage the bride, stunning in a custom Oscar de la Renta French lace wedding gown, hand-embroidered with pearls and diamant accents, featuring an off-the-shoulder neckline and a full circular train.
“He’s such an elegant designer and such an elegant man,” Alamuddin, 36, tells PEOPLE.
With three days of parties followed by a civil ceremony, the festivities took center stage in Venice, which the actor calls “the most romantic city in the world” and a natural choice for their wedding locale. “We met in Italy,” says Clooney, who has long owned an estate on Lake Como. “We have a home there. We knew that was where we wanted to get married.”
While the guest list included famous pals like Matt Damon and Bono, the couple kept the celebration intimate and sentimental. They tapped Nora Sagal, the daughter of friends, to sing the Irving Berlin standard Always at the ceremony ? which happened to be the song Clooney’s parents, Nick and Nina, danced to at their wedding ? and Cole Porter’s “Why Shouldn’t I?” for their first dance at the reception.
As Nick Clooney said in his speech during the ceremony, “George and Amal present us with … belief that in this place and at this moment, love is alive and well.”
The bride’s close friend Jae Kim couldn’t agree more. “I had never seen her smile like that,” Kim said sweetly during the ceremony of witnessing her Alamuddin find the love of her life. “She has had that smile now for almost a year straight!”
Besides the afterglow of an unforgettable weekend, did the guests take anything home? “Other than a hangover? Yes,” cracks Clooney, whose favors included iPods loaded with a playlist chosen by the couple. And what’s next for the newlyweds after a brief honeymoon? Quite simply, Clooney tells PEOPLE, “We’re looking forward to everything.”
[From People]
Yes, it’s all pretty over-the-top. Thoughts on Amal’s dress? I don’t hate it. It’s a classic, lovely, traditional wedding gown and it looks very pretty on her. I’m glad she wore her amazing hair gown.
Other random details, from other sources… Page Six says the wedding probably cost about $13 million, which is pretty interesting considering Amal’s parents supposedly paid. I didn?t know Amal came from that kind of wealth. I mean, I figured her family was probably upper-middle-class, more like an academic family rather than a wealthy family. Oh, and sources claim that George and Amal went from Venice to Marrakech for their honeymoon. That?s really cool! I?ve always wanted to go to Marrakech.
