The sexy supermodel joined Mayor Kirk Caldwell in speaking to a crowd of shoppers and press before signing autographs for those in attendance.
Heading back to the States following her Hawaiian duties, Miss Miller paid a visit to Aptos High School on Friday ahead of the 15th annual Monte Foundation Musicfest and Firework Extravaganza.
“It was crazy, but it was cool to see the school; there have been a lot of good changes,” Marisa told press. “It’s great to see other artists take their time to come out. You could see that everyone is so pumped to see the full performances.”

But apparently, taking time off is difficult for the 34-year-old, as she hasn’t been on holiday in three years. The actress says, “My flaw that I’d like to make peace with is to take a vacation.”
And in other news, Drew insists she is in no rush to settle down, telling press, “Sexual love is secondary to me right now. I’ve spent a lot of time in my life dedicating myself to love or the pursuit of love or the understanding of love.”
Continuing on, she added, “But for the last few years, my life just hasn’t been about that for me. It’s just not about the mother baggage. It’s not about the boy. It’s about something completely different, and it’s very refreshing. I’m trying to understand it and relish it.” Now go on vacation, Drew!

The “Keeping up with the Kardashians” star attended her running back boyfriend’s game in New Orleans yesterday (October 4).
Miss Kardashian flew to New Orleans early Saturday morning for the second time since sister, Khloe, tied the knot on September 27th.
“They took a few months off and couldn’t be apart,” a source says of the couple, who split in July after about two years of dating. “The time away was needed so that they could figure out what their priorities were.”
Kim cheered the New Orleans Saints to victory as they went on to beat the New York Jets 24 to 10.

Singer Christina Milian announced on Friday that she and her husband, The-Dream, are expecting their first child, according to People magazine.
"My husband and I are expecting," said Milian, who the magazine notes is already sporting a baby bump. "We're about four and a half months along, about 19 weeks. We're really excited."
The couple married last month in Las Vegas, and soon after, rumors, began to surface that the newlyweds were also expecting a bundle of joy. They were also rumored to have had a second wedding ceremony in Rome.
Until now they have been mum about the rumors and Milian explains that neither the wedding nor the baby have come too soon for the couple. "Honestly, it was kind of planned," she said. "We were engaged for many months."
And although Milian worked with her new husband on her upcoming album, Elope, which was titled before the couple were married and is due out by the beginning of next year, she said the album title had nothing to do with their romance.
"Actually, the name change came ... I don't know if I was engaged yet, but it really didn't have anything to do with that. 'it [was] more so' about taking a step as a woman and making decisions on my own and doing things without necessarily the permission of others. And I think that's really more about adulthood and coming into adulthood," she explained about the title's significance. "I think that's where we came up with that one."

It is Paris Fashion Week, and the world's biggest and brightest fashionistas have been hanging out in the City of Lights to see what all the great designers are planning for spring 2010. Lindsay Lohan, Naomi Campbell and Dita Von Teese have all been seen eyeing the runways. And Katy Perry and Rihanna hit up two shows this weekend.
On Saturday, the besties went to the Jean Paul Gaultier show, where they posed with the designer backstage. Of course, that meant that the Gaultier bondage-inspired top Rihanna wore was more talked about than his collection. Perry, however, kept it more conservative in a black halter number.
At the Karl Lagerfeld show on Sunday, the girls sat in the front row, where they were interviewed by the press and joked around a bit. In photos from the show, the girls were seen laughing and fooling around as Perry covered her face with a bag with Lagerfeld's face printed on it. This time, Rihanna wore a sheer black minidress and tights, while Perry wore a slate-colored dress with a big, black belt.
Earlier this year, Perry told MTV News that she likes to hang out with Rihanna because "she's one of those unaffected people." "We're friends and we're both kind of on this crazy roller coaster, and ... it's nice to have good girlfriends. I pride myself on having cool chicks in my life, and she's a cool chick," Perry explained. "She's a really cool chick. I love her style."

Taking another stab at success in the fashion world, Lindsay Lohan was spotted backstage at the Emmanuel Ungaro Pret a Porter show in Paris on Sunday (October4).
The “Mean Girls” starlet hit the catwalk at the show’s end alongside Estrella Archs – although critics weren’t all that kind when reviewing what they saw on the runway.
According to Women’s Wear Daily, the show was “an embarrassment. Lindsay, it’s time to get serious about reviving the acting career.”
“Being a young, pretty, controversial woman who looks good in clothes and photo ops just isn’t enough,” WWD adds.
Meanwhile, the NY Times tells that the collection left “several people in the audience aghast.”

Lindsay Lohan’s pairing with French design house Emanuel Ungaro didn’t go over so well with the critics at Fashion Week, but not to worry — it drew rave reviews from meth-addicted exotic dancers with bastard children. The Daily Mail says
The collection prompted only lukewarm applause when Lohan and [new head designer Estrella] Archs came out onto the catwalk after the show.
Fashion critics looked aghast at Lohan’s bra tops and stripper-inspired nipple pasties.
The thigh-skimming dresses in peach, hot Pink and white [and] the sparkling nipple pasties flashing from underneath loose blazers were a reminder of Lohan’s own occasional wardrobe mishaps.
‘It’s not good to show your nipples so they should be covered,’ Lohan [said], referring to the heart-shaped pasties.
Lindsay Lohan thinks it’s “not good to show your nipples?” Am I taking crazy pills? What about this? Or this? Or this, this and this? It’s almost impossible to find a picture of Lindsay Lohan where she’s not showing her nipples. You know what they say — people who live in glass houses shouldn’t call the kettle black. Frankly, that’s just being racist.

After battling fly nets and enormous spiders in Uganda in the name of beauty (or The Price of Beauty), Jessica Simpson has returned to America. She commenced with making up for lost time by doing two big appearances over the weekend. The first was as the headliner for the annual Operation Smile Gala, held in Beverly Hills. Her outfit was a little sketchy for a gala - but I suspect Jessica was aiming for conservative and classic rather than her normal style, a buffet of T & A. Jessica gained some weight back, hasn?t she? It doesn?t really matter, I think she still looks great. Good gala hair, good gala makeup.
At the gala, Papa Joe talked up Jessica to Us Weekly - and as always, he probably did more harm than good. You know how Jessica looks a little heavier? Papa Joe says that?s because Jess went into a ?fattening hut? in Uganda, because in Uganda, ?fat is beautiful.? He also talks about Jessica?s valuable lessons learned about inner beauty:
As she travels around the world filming her upcoming reality show The Price of Beauty, Jessica Simpson - who underwent criticism for her weight earlier this year - is learning that “beauty starts within,” her father Joe tells Usmagazine.com.
“She?s always scrutinized by the world and [it's great] to watch her go to other countries and see women talk about what is beautiful there,” he told Us Friday at a gala in Beverly Hills for the international charity Operation Smile. “We were just in Uganda, and a beauty ambassador [there] knew Jessica?s total story about her weight and blah, blah, blah. [She said] to Jessica that it?s about who you are inside, which is the message of our show.”
Asked if he has given his daughter, 29, any advice on how to handle the weight issue, Joe told Us, “I don?t have to tell her anything anymore. She?s wise.”
He said he also brushes off any criticism aimed at Jessica or his other daughter Ashlee.
“The girls are wonderful kids who have so much to offer, and as a father, the greatest frustration in the world is that people are told who they are instead of knowing who they are,” he said. “So the hardest thing for me as a parent is to say that?s not who my child is; you don?t know the girl because she?s the same girl she?s always been. She?s with children in Uganda or children in Japan or Thailand — she has an open heart and loves these people. I think you’ll see that on our show. I think it’s the greatest show that women can experience because it’s all women all around the world talking about beauty and the message is always the same: It starts inside.”
What can viewers expect?
Jessica “becomes a Geisha in Japan,” Joe told Us. “In Uganda, we sat in a fattening hut because, in Uganda … fat is beautiful. So the bigger you are, the more beautiful you are. She was with a girl who had been in a hut preparing for her wedding for two months and 25 days on a 5,000 calorie-a-day diet.”
Next stop: Morocco.
“It?s going to be beautiful,” he said.
Jessica agreed, telling Us, “It’s going to be amazing … we’re leaving the day after tomorrow I think.”

Notice that even when Papa Joe is trying to make a larger point about both of his daughters, he always has to bring the conversation around to just Jessica? Yeah. Sometimes I really feel for Ashlee - it must suck for her in that family. Oh, and it was her 25th birthday on Saturday - she had a big party in Vegas. I can?t find any pictures of her dad at Ashlee?s birthday - but he was all over the Operation Smile gala.
Operation Smile has been one of Jessica?s causes for several years - I?m proud of her for sticking with it, even if she?s (maybe) not the most coherent advocate. I think her heart?s in it, though, and the organization does great work. According to its website, ?Operation Smile volunteers have treated more than 130,000 children born with cleft lips, cleft palates and other facial deformities and the organization has a presence in 51 countries. In addition to contributing free medical treatment, Operation Smile trains local medical professionals in its partner countries and leaves behind crucial equipment to lay the groundwork for long-term self-sufficiency.? Although I kind of think Olivia Wilde and Kate Beckinsale are about on par as far as general talent. Meaning, I think they?re both pretty girls, but I don?t really get what all the fuss is about. Sigh. At least Kate has a really lovely, curvy-athletic figure. For this honor, Kate follows in the footsteps of Scarlett Johansson, Halle Berry, Angelina Jolie and Jessica Biel, amongst others.

After the interviewer reads from his list of what he finds sexy in a woman (smoking, drinking, attitude, etc), Kate responds: ?I do eat meat, I don’t smoke, I don’t really drink, I do sing. Aw, she?s sort of cute. I like her a little more after this interview, but I still think her publicist had to pay someone off to get her the ?Sexiest Woman? gig. It could totally be worse, though. I?m glad the magazine picked a woman with some curves, a woman whose actually given birth (Kate has 10-year-old daughter Lily with actor Michael Sheen), and a woman who cusses up a blue streak. She?s not bad at all.

The rarely-seen Jolie-Pitt twins Knox and Vivienne were photographed with parents Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt as they stopped for ice cream during a visit to Amman, Jordan. The Daily Mail says
The couple made a surprise visit to the Licky Licious gelato store where the owner Ihab Fakhouri snapped a picture of the family that was later posted on Twitter.
It was a very rare public outing for the 14-month-old twins who, unlike their high-profile siblings, have only been seen a handful of times since their birth.
It has led to speculation about their health, with some US publications claiming they suffered allergies and were kept hidden away for safety reasons.
But the pair looked like ‘really happy kids’ according to Fakhouri, who gave them pecan, caramel, vanilla and mango ice cream to try.
They make for a lovely family, don’t they? Well, the twins and Angelina, I mean. Brad looks like he should be trip-trapping over a bridge to confront the hungry troll who passed over his two brothers.

The “Wanted” actress took her girls to Intermarch, a French supermarket in Brignoles, where she picked up chips, Barbie Dolls, sausage, and a remote controlled car.
This past Friday (October 2) Ang was spotted out with her partner Brad Pitt and their twins Vivienne Marcheline and Knox Leon as they hit up Licky Licious Ice Cream Shop on Rainbow Street in Amman, Jordan.
Store owner Ihab Fakhouri told press, “The kids look so much like Angelina. They look like their mother. But they have Brad’s eyes. They looked like really happy kids.”

And Carrie told press that she took a full two days to shoot the video, something she hasn’t done before. “Usually we cram everything into one day because, goodness knows, what else I have to do—I’m off flying somewhere else doing something crazy. But it wasn’t all about me this time. We had dancers. We had a lot of people going on. It was just a lot of fun. You know, changing into one fabulous outfit after another and just going out and having a lot of fun with it. The energy was really good, and it made the day fly by.”

I?m not sure how many more rounds this Penelope Cruz engagement/pregnancy rumor has. At some point, I think people are going to get tired of running variations on the same old story that Penelope keeps denying, but there?s yet another new round today. The NY Daily News? Rush & Malloy are reporting that while Penelope Cruz and Javier Bardem definitely weren?t engaged before, they totally are now. They?re also not bothering to do another round of ?she?s totally pregnant? crap, probably because Penelope just denied the rumors again in November?s Vanity Fair. Apparently, even Penelope?s friends are skeptical of this denial, but whatever. She?s not telling us, and at some point, even I get exhausted with the baby bump game. The most interesting slice of gossip from this Rush & Malloy report - in my mind - is that Javier wasn?t interested in adopting a baby from India when Penelope had her heart set on it:

The fiercely private couple is still playing coy about whether or not they’re dating. But, take it from us, they are in fact engaged. Rumors that they might be betrothed have been floating around since April. Not true then. True now.
“They’re telling friends they will get married,” says a pal, who heard the news directly from one of them. A wedding is bound to comfort Cruz’s Catholic parents, considering stubborn rumors that she’s pregnant.
But she continues to deny she’s with child - even to friends. Despite a photo showing the smiling pair leaving an OB/GYN clinic in Madrid last month, they’ve been telling friends to hold off on the baby gifts.
“They say the pregnancy stories aren’t true,” says another skeptical friend. Publicists for the stars declined to comment.
Cruz professed ambivalence about being a wife as recently as August. “I don’t know if I believe in marriage,” the actress, who’d weathered the glare of her romance with Tom Cruise, told the UK’s Psychologies magazine. “I believe in family, love and children.”
She added, “When I [have children], I want to do it really well. I want it to be my best project in life.”
While many reports have time-stamped Cruz and Bardem’s romance as starting in 2007, few know they first fell for each other in 1992 while making “Jamon, Jamon,” where their fiery sex scenes were improved by some real-life rehearsals.
Cruz broke it off with Bardem after the film, but they teamed again for 1997’s “Live Flesh.” By the time Woody Allen cast them in “Vicky Cristina Barcelona,” both were older, wiser and international superstars. They fell in love all over again. Cruz’s convincing performance as Bardem’s virago ex earned her an Oscar. (He came home with one, too, for “No Country for Old Men.”)
Some reports claimed they’d broken up last year, alleging she was mad at him for breaking a promise to take a year off from work. “Penelope is really angry because she turned down a few really good roles because she was so committed to their sabbatical,” one source was quoted as saying.
Her brother Eduardo contended Cruz was also disappointed that Bardem wouldn’t go along with her plan to adopt a baby from India. Despite those reports, the two have remained inseparable, doing a very bad job of pretending to be friends. From the sound of things, they’re finally ready to give up their ruse.

Over the weekend, Lindsay Lohan finally unveiled her collection for Ungaro. What?s that? It wasn?t really her collection, she was just the ?artistic advisor?? No matter, Lindsay walked the runway with designer Estrella Arch to take credit for all of her ?work?. I?m not sure why Lindsay bothered, though, because she was only taking credit for a collection that was universally loathed. The Huffington Post has a slideshow of the clothes (they?re hideous, childish and they look like budget hooker-wear), and HuffPo describes the outfits as ?a plethora of hearts, from sequins on the outfits, patterns in the cloth, hats, and even heart-shaped pasties covering many of the models’ nipples, exposed by unbuttoned jackets and plunging necklines.?
Women?s Wear Daily (via Dlisted) called the collection an “embarrassment? noting that the clothes looked ?cheesy and dated?. The New York Times referred to the show as ?the final gasp of celebrity madness? and noted the multiple wardrobe malfunctions, ?bits of black masking tape or sequined pasties popping from jackets tricked out with hearts.? NYT summed up: ?. Yet will this collection of hearts but with no soul be enough to entice young women who could probably find these looks anywhere?? The lesson: if you want to look like a cracked-out hooker, you kind find versions of this ugly stuff at Wal-Mart.
As for Lindsay, if it?s possible, she looked worse than she did at the Vogue party last week. Something about Paris does not agree with her - either that or she can?t handle the hardcore Parisian street drugs? All I know is that this girl?s face looks ridiculous. The puffed-out lips, the sketchy blonde hair, the bad skin? topped off with her ridiculously glassy eyes. Did she hit the pipe before she walked the runway? Afterwards, paparazzi caught her partying with Busta Rhymes at a Paris nightclub. Her hair looked a little better, but other than that it looks like Lindsay was ?celebrating? her ass off. I don?t have any sympathy for her anymore. She doesn?t want to get better because she doesn?t think there?s anything wrong.

While most women dread the day they turn 40, Gwen Stefani welcomed the occasion with a swanky soiree in West Hollywood this past Saturday (October 3).
The “Hella Good” songstress celebrated at Cecconi’s restaurant with her husband Gavin Rossdale, their two sons Kingston and Zuma, and fellow celebrity pals like Kate Beckinsale and her hubby Len Wiseman.
Stefani rented out the exclusive Butterfly Room, which features a $1 million Damien Hirst painting and a crystal Chandelier. A restaurant source told press, “The Butterfly Room was specially decorated for Gwen’s celebration with happy birthday balloons and roses.”
Another insider revealed, “Gwen looked amazing and so much younger than 40. She was in a great mood and seemed very excited to celebrate her birthday with her husband, children and friends. Gwen and Kate seem very close and the girls shared a long chat and many laughs. Gavin and a nanny took care of the boys so Gwen could just relax and enjoy her celebration.”

Jim Carrey and his girlfriend Jenny McCarthy were out a charity benefit late last week. Carrey has gained some weight and sports a new scruffy beard tinged with gray. He looks so different that if he passed right by me on the street I wouldn’t recognize him at all. Carrey is beefing up to play Curley in the new “Three Stooges” comedy directed by the Farrelly brothers. The movie also stars Benicio Del Toro as Moe and Paul Giamatti as Larry. It’s out next year and it looks like a lot of fun, although I wonder if super serious Del Toro can do comedy. Kaiser reminded me that “the closest he’s ever come to comedy is that sucky one he did with Ryan Phillippe.” That would be the poorly-reviewed 2000 film The Way of The Gun. He might surprise us as a perfect deadpan counterbalance to Carrey’s over-the-top antics.
Jim Carrey appears to be taking his role in the “Three Stooges” seriously, visibly fattening up as planned for his role as Curly. He was out in LA Thursday night with a round face partially obscured by a new beard and glasses.
Back in April his girlfriend Jenny McCarthy told Ellen Degeneres that Carrey was beginning to pack on the pounds.
“He’s going to gain 50 pounds to play Curly. He’s just having so much fun with it,” Jenny told Ellen.
“I have no idea what it’s going to be like when he hits near 300 pounds. But, you know, he’s in his comedy. He works hard at it.”

Are scruffy gray beards the latest look for Hollywood men? I did a search on “beard” on one of the photo agencies we subscribe to, and Katie Holmes didn’t come up, but the other results show how the beard trend has caught on. Photos from the last two months show that Russell Crowe, Jeff Bridges, Dustin Hoffman and of course, Brad Pitt, are also sporting silver facial hair. My dad and his retired buddies are finally in style.

Continuing about with her duties in Paris, Lindsay Lohan hit the runway at the Emmanuel Ungaro fashion show at Le Carrousel du Louvre in Paris on Sunday (October 4).
With her little sister Ali there to cheer her on, the “Mean Girls” starlet joined up with Estrella Archs, creator of the new spring summer 2010 Ungaro collection, for a post-show bow following the less than well-received show.
Talking about their collaboration, Lohan told press, “We both kind of mixed our (ideas) together, and that’s why it came out so well. I really appreciate everything that goes into, like, any article of clothing. I think it’s fantastic and I think it’s so expressive in so many ways.”
The previous evening, LiLo was busy getting her party on - as she hit up a late night fete in the City of Lights - joining a guest list including hip-hopper Busta Rhymes.
