| Keira Knightley: 'The very thought of a diet makes me want chips & ice cream' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
Keira Knightly is doing the rounds to promote her role in Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit. The movie looks way too Bourne-y to be something I’m interested in watching, but I dig that Keira has stepped outside her comfort zone for a popcorn flick. Of course it’s easy to forget that she appeared in three Pirates of the Caribbean movies too, so she has some familiarity with blockbuster movies. Most people still think of Keira as the girl in the corset though. She’s often the best part of otherwise overwrought period movies.
*cough Anna Karenina *
Keira plays the tough girlfriend in this latest movie. I don’t know how much ass kicking she does, but she plays a doctor who discovers that her man, Jack Ryan (a spiffed-up Chris Pine), leads a secret life. She follows him to Moscow where he’s chasing baddies around. The critics will dislike Jack Ryan, but the film is expected to make a ton of cash, which is good news for Keira. I like Keira a lot these days. I used to think she was snobbish, but she’s let her hair down in her newer interviews. It’s super cool that she keeps repurposing her wedding dress, and her thoughts on feminism and motherhood began a grand conversation. Keira just sat down with the Express to discuss those long-standing rumors of anorexia:
Her latest career curve: “When I finished doing Anna Karenina, I realised I’d been playing characters who died, or to whom something horrendous happens, for about the last five years. That’s why I fancied doing something fun.”
On Jack Ryan: Shadow Recruit: “It’s piece of pure entertainment — a really great, old-school, Hollywood thriller. I?ve never done one of those before but it?s a genre I?ve always liked, as long as you combine action with proper storytelling. And this is a great script — a real page-turner. All it needed was a proper storyteller to direct it. Ken [Branagh] basically said, ‘Oh, go on, do it!’ And I went, ‘All right, then.’ I was interested in the idea of what happens to a relationship when there is a secret — when there is something that can?t be discussed. That’s something that can tear two people apart even though they are completely in love.”
Fending off rumors of anorexia: “I’ve got a lot of experience with anorexia. My grandmother and my great-grandmother suffered from it and I had a lot of friends at school who suffered from it, so I don’t think it’s anything to be taken lightly.”
She doesn’t diet or exercise: “The very thought of a diet makes me want chips and ice cream, and I just hate going to the gym. The most exercise I get is turning on the TV.”
She grew up in the biz: “When I was little, we did manage to go on holidays, but there were periods when my parents were totally out of work and didn?t know if they could keep the house. So I?ve always known this is a very insecure profession. There was never anything else. I wanted to be a part of my parents’ world, even though I knew there are times when you’re unemployed, and if you have five years of working constantly that’s beyond lucky.”
[From The Express]
The way Keira talks about her family history of eating disorders makes me believe her when she denies having an eating disorder. She’s probably one of those lucky people who can get away with eating whatever she wants and not exercising. Keira has previously revealed how she loves baking and specializes in gluten-free goods. So maybe she’s a bit more health conscious than she lets on, but I don’t think she stresses over it.

| Kim Kardashian: 'I?m so annoyed I dyed my hair dark, I am missing my light hair!' | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
As we discussed yesterday, Kim Kardashian dyed her hair back to a more original shade of brown, at long last. Kim had been trying to make a tawny blonde ombre ?work? for months, and it just wasn?t doing anything for her. Plus, I really do think it was mostly Kanye West?s idea. Yeezington wanted his woman to look like Beyonce, so that?s what she did. But now that Kim is back to a more original hair color, she apparently hates it:
Guess blondes really do have more fun. Two days after going back to her dark brunette hair, Kim Kardashian has a serious case of dyer’s remorse, she told fans on the social media site Mobio Insider.
“I’m so annoyed I dyed my hair dark! I wanted to switch it up since I feel everyone went light, and we started filming a new season of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, so [I] wanted a fresh look,” the 33-year-old reality star wrote on Monday, Feb. 3. “BUT now I am missing my light hair! HELP!!! What do I do? Go light again or stay dark and get used to it?”
Prior to Feb. 1, the mom-of-one had been rocking honey blonde tresses for several months. She dyed them back in September, a few months after giving birth to daughter North with fiance Kanye West.
“I think she wanted to go blonde this time because she wanted a big change,” hairstylist George Papanikolas, who helped her go light, told Us Weekly at the time. “It was Kim’s idea to go blonde, but everyone around her had some influence, including myself.”
For this color makeover, Kardashian turned to Tracey Cunningham, a source tells Us. “She’s amazing,” the insider says.
[From Us Weekly]
Well, considering what we already know about Kim?s bald spots and her weave tracks, wouldn?t a return to blonde be pretty simple? She would just dye the top part and then get more blonde weaves put in (like Beyonce). But I hope Kim lives with the brown for a while. It really is an improvement.
As for the rumors that Kim dyed her hair darker on orders from Anna Wintour, because Anna had finally succumbed to Yeezington?s public campaign to get Kim a Vogue cover, well? it looks like that?s not the case. Us Weekly spoke to someone ?close to Kim? who says the rumors are ?not true.? Another source (or maybe the same one, Lucifer?s Homegirl?!) told Radar: ?The rumors about Kim shooting the U.S. Vogue cover are NOT true.? Who said anything about an American Vogue specifically, hm? As I said yesterday, if Kim is going to appear in Vogue, she?ll start out on the cover of one of the international editions. Of course, a source also genuflected at the Altar of Nuclear Wintour too: “Of course Kim would love to be on the cover of Vogue someday.” What?s the guess? Italian Vogue? Probably.

| Christie Brinkley's ex husband's lawyer attacks her for statements she never made | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

|
|
|
Yesterday we read an angry missive by Christie Brinkley’s ex husband, Peter Cook, blaming her for a false statement about their divorce, which was not a quote from Christie and was made in an obscure online source which Christie had nothing to do with. The article is poorly worded and reads like it was written by a non-native English speaker. It states that “Brinkley won a large settlement, especially after revelation of Cook?s heavy hand on the three children.” Cook latched on to this, linked the source, and accused Christie of planting it in the media.
In Christie’s People Magazine interview, the only reference she made to Cook was in claiming that her 50s “weren?t easy. I lost both my parents and went through a miserable divorce while trying to be a pillar for my kids.” That’s it, that’s all Christie said, but it was enough to set Cook off on a rant against her, along with that random article. Instead of calming down and realizing that Christie had nothing to do with that other story, Cook doubled-down and had his lawyer attack her in the media. Again, the lawyer accuses Christie of planting that article and confuses it with her People interview, in which she said no such thing. This is just unbelievable to me:
Ladies and Gentlemen of the Press:
After several years of representing Peter Cook as his attorney on an array of legal issues created mostly by Christie Brinkley?s insatiable need for attention and self justification, I am compelled to write to set the record straight.
Ms. Brinkley latest attack on Mr. Cook, falling on the eve of her 60th birthday celebration, suggests that she won a ?large settlement after revelation of Cook?s heavy hand on the three children?. And PEOPLE magazine celebrates her swimsuit wearing good looks on its cover with an article touting her need to be a ?pillar? for her children after her nasty divorce from Mr. Cook.
If she is the ?pillar? that she claims to be then she will publicly repudiate the false statements that there was a ?large settlement? in her favor and that Mr. Cook ever used a ?heavy hand on the three children.? She should do this for her children?s sake.
I have been representing men and women in divorce proceedings for more than 35 years and have never, I repeat never, witnessed such little regard for the wellbeing of children as evidenced by Ms. Brinkley, beginning when she and her lawyers asked the trial Judge to open the courtroom and permit her to testify about every detail of the parties marital discord in front of scores of reporters, all for the world to witness and her children to experience. Moreover, she insisted on putting in the most personal testimony about her children?s father which was wholly unnecessary because Mr. Cook had already acknowledged his mistakes and consented to the divorce.
But Ms. Brinkley required her pound of flesh even if her children had to be humiliated by the daily reporting of the most personal details of their family life. And the public trial was only the tip of the iceberg. Ms. Brinkley?s public relations people, who have made millions from Ms. Brinkley generous use of them, have relentlessly peppered the media with untrue statements about Mr. Cook from the beginning of the legal difficulties until this very day. Ms. Brinkley herself continues to state publicly, among of things, that Mr. Cook was a ?diagnosed narcissist?, a statement that is completely false and no doubt actionable slander. Of course, Ms. Brinkley herself could be cited by most observers as a pretty good example of a narcissist.
She is willing to hurt her own children because it makes her feel so good to hurt Mr. Cook in every public forum and at every opportunity. To set the record straight, Mr. Cook is a great father. I have personally witnessed his anguish about what his children have gone through. He tries to shield them from the hurt of this personal family tragedy but he is no match for the anger of this very wealthy and scorned woman determined to trash the father of her children at every opportunity.
Ms. Brinkley?s need for revenge knows no bounds. Her subtle, and sometimes not so subtle, message to her children about their father is designed to cause them to question their own reality and the father they know, simply to exact revenge for herself. I have witnessed this behavior in my law practice over 35 years and the harm it has caused thousands of children.
It is shameful.
In the long run, Mr. Cook will be the ?pillar? for his children because he is grounded and real. It is time for Christie Brinkley to stop trashing the father of her children and let them freely appreciate the gifts he has to offer them as a parent.
James R. Winkler, Attorney for Peter Cook
[From Radar Online]
Both Cook and his lawyer are incapable of actually reading Christie’s People article and seeing that she didn’t trash Cook at all, or realizing that she has nothing to do with something written in “Liberty Voice.” In their argument, Christie is responsible for everything written about her on the Internet, and is supposed to immediately respond to some random journalist’s incorrect statement, in an article riddled with errors, in an online source people have barely heard of. Otherwise she’s a horrible awful person who is attacking her ex. The more I hear from Cook and his hack lawyer, the more I see Christie’s perspective. Just look at how Cook is behaving.
If you’d like to know more about Cook, check out his 20/20 interview following the divorce. He blamed Christie for the fact that he was cheating on her with an 18 year-old girl he hired to work at his architectural firm. He was 49 at the time.

| Cate Blanchett makes a statement about Dylan Farrow's open letter | Added 10 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |
|
|
|
|
|
Here are some photos of Cate Blanchett at the Santa Barbara International Film Festival over the weekend. Cate was being honored with the ?Outstanding Performer of the Year? Award for her work in Blue Jasmine. Cate wore this Maison Martin Margiela Spring 2014 dress. Thoughts? I think it?s an interesting design, just enough sparkle to be glamorous but not too much where she looks like Vanna White. I love the dress with that cream-colored coat ? that?s a great look! My one complaint is the I think she should have pulled her hair back. Then this would have been perfect.
Cate made her appearance at Santa Barbara just as the NY Times published Dylan Farrow?s essay about Woody Allen. Dylan name-checked Cate Blanchett specifically, I believe in attempt to call out Cate and all of the actors who work with Woody. Cate did address Dylan?s essay specifically, telling THR: ?It?s obviously been a long and painful situation for the family and I hope they find some resolution and peace.? It’s worth noting that Cate is not a Woody Allen regular – Blue Jasmine was her first time being directed by Woody, and he wrote the part specifically for Cate. He’s been campaigning for her too.
THR had an analysis piece on the timing of Dylan Farrow’s essay, and this THR writer seems to think that the Farrow family is specifically targeting Cate and her Oscar chances:
Is Cate Blanchett’s best actress Oscar for her performance in Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine as assured as most people believe? Probably — but being called out on the New York Times’ website for associating with an alleged child molester certainly won’t help her cause.
?The question of the minds of many is why Farrow, who has heretofore maintained a low public profile, would choose to publicly discuss her history with Allen now? The timing and focus of her piece certainly suggest, to me, that she would like to derail any chance that Allen or those associated with him on his latest film, Blue Jasmine, have of receiving additional awards recognition at the Oscars on March 2. The film was nominated for three Oscars — best actress (Cate Blanchett), best supporting actress (Sally Hawkins) and best original screenplay (Allen) — on Jan. 16, and the final round of voting will take place from Feb. 14-25.
? Last month, Allen was presented with a lifetime achievement Golden Globe Award, in absentia. Kristof writes of Farrow, “She says that when she heard of the Golden Globe award being given to Allen she curled up in a ball on her bed, crying hysterically.” On the night of the presentation, Ronan Farrow, her 26-year-old brother and the host of a new show on MSNBC, tweeted, “Missed the Woody Allen tribute – did they put the part where a woman publicly confirmed he molested her at age 7 before or after Annie Hall?”
But Dylan Farrow, who described herself now as “happily married” (Kristof mentioned that she lives in Florida under a different name), noted that she has managed to handle Allen’s other recent awards recognition better. “Last [month],” she wrote, “Woody Allen was nominated for his latest Oscar. But this time, I refuse to fall apart.”
However, she then proceeded to rather provocatively target those who have professionally associated with Allen: “But others are still scared, vulnerable, and struggling for the courage to tell the truth. The message that Hollywood sends matters for them. What if it had been your child, Cate Blanchett? Louis CK? Alec Baldwin? What if it had been you, Emma Stone? Or you, Scarlett Johansson? You knew me when I was a little girl, Diane Keaton. Have you forgotten me? Woody Allen is a living testament to the way our society fails the survivors of sexual assault and abuse.”
Only Farrow herself can say what her objective was in writing this piece when and how she did. But, whether intended or not, the byproduct of her actions may well be that some Academy members will think twice before supporting Allen or those who have chosen to associate with him on Blue Jasmine when they fill out their Oscar ballots. And while that won’t matter much for Allen and Hawkins’ prospects — they were both considered to be long shots well before this brouhaha — it could, conceivably, make the road to victory for Blanchett, who is a heavy favorite — having already won best actress Critics’ Choice, Golden Globe and SAG, New York Film Critics Circle, Los Angeles Film Critics Association and National Society of Film Critics awards — a little bumpier.
[From The Hollywood Reporter]
While I found Dylan Farrow’s essay powerful and moving, and I’m at the point where I believe her claims and wish that there was some way to make Woody pay for his crimes, I’m uncomfortable with this idea that we should hold someone like Cate – or any actor who has worked with Woody – responsible for his actions. I’m also uncomfortable with the idea that Dylan Farrow’s op-ed comes in the heat of this year’s Oscar season, and I think THR is right that it seems targeted at Cate’s Oscar campaign. Just think… it was just two years ago when Woody won yet another Oscar for Original Screenplay for Midnight In Paris. Why not then? While I think Dylan has gotten to a point in her life when she’s ready to discuss what she’s been through right now, it does feel like the Farrow family is trying to make a point to target the actors who have worked with Woody in recent years when I believe this should all be on Woody. No moving targets.
Also, Ronan Farrow has tweeted his support for his sister and Woody’s lawyers are still scrambling to issue statements.
