One of my favorite political ?news? websites is Wonkette, and the warbloggers over there have this feature called ?Wonk?d?, where people can write in about all the celebrities they see. Usually these celebrities are people like New York Times columnist Paul Krugman and maybe, if you?re really lucky, someone will have seen Newsweek?s Michael Isikoff at a Starbucks. Today, one of the Wonkette readers sent in a grainy, evocative picture of George Clooney in St. Louis, where he?s working on his new film Up in the Air. The Wonkette reader noted ?Obama confidante and gorgeous Darfur lover George Clooney was just spotted in St. Louis. Filming started today here on his new movie, Up in the Air (otherwise known as George Clooney stalks around airports in bland, featureless cities like St. Louis).?
Apparently, people in St. Louis are totally freaking out with George in their midst. The local press is treating it like a papal visit, attempting to note Clooney?s comings and goings, even though the production company ?has no comment? on Clooney?s whereabouts. St. Louis is turning into a town of stalker-razzi! Here?s some good local coverage from The Belleville News Democrat:
Dreamy — that’s how most women refer to actor George Clooney, who is currently in St. Louis for production of a movie titled “Up in the Air.”
Movie-related locations downtown include several trailers parked in a lot along Broadway, just south of Busch Stadium. The trailers have logos on them that read “Starwaggons,” and “Movie Movers Transportation Equipment.”
Production company officials have no comment on Clooney’s whereabouts. They do say that during the day, of course, Clooney is busy working and acting — playing his role in the movie. His nights are his own, however. And that’s where it gets interesting.
Clooney apparently has spent some of his off time in the Central West End. He’s already been spotted in a club known as Mandarin. And Culpepper’s waitress Laura Sieges left behind her assigned section Sunday night after somebody told her Clooney was right next door, inside Subzero. Sieges said she did not talk to him.
“No I didn’t, I was too nervous,” she said. “He was having dinner with some people.”
Sieges thought Clooney’s dinner guests were also move production officials. Sieges was asked if it looked like Clooney had a date.
“No,” she said. “There was a couple ladies and a couple gentlemen.”
Asked what she’ll do if she finds Clooney seated in her section, Sieges said, “I’ll probably run in the back and be like, ‘Oh my goodness, George Clooney’s here!’”

According to Cinematical, Up in the Air is supposed to be one of those weird Coen-esque comedies. They say ?Clooney will play an HR guy whose single joy is nabbing his millionth frequent-flyer mile. While his life falls apart in his frequent-flying absence, Vera Farmiga’s businesswoman will keep meeting him in airports and hotels and develop a romance with him.? Jason Bateman just signed on to play Clooney?s boss, and the film is being directed by Juno?s Jason Reitman. No word on how long Clooney will be in St. Louis… though I hope those people don?t kill him with love.

For a long time Dina Lohan engaged in that time-honored Lohan parent tradition ? you know the one, where they make a bunch of excuses for their kid while also blaming the media and personally attacking anyone who had the audacity to point out that there was something imperfect about the kid. This time Dina was doing it about Lindsay?s recent massive weight loss, saying she just needed to eat more McDonalds. Always the healthy solution for diet issues.
Well Dina is finally a little worried ? and so is Lindsay?s younger sister Ali. Apparently they?re begging her to move home to Long Island so they can keep an eye on her and make sure she?s eating, in an attempt to get her to gain weight and improve her health.
Lindsay Lohan’s family has begged her to put on weight. The ‘Mean Girls’ actress’ mother Dina and 15-year-old sister Ali want the thin star to return to the family home in Long Island, New York, so they can make sure she is eating.
A source said: “That way Dina and Ali can look after her and stop her skipping meals. It would be the best thing for her. We know it’s stress behind the weight loss.”
But the 22-year-old star - who has reportedly lost nearly 14lbs from her already-slender frame in the past two months - has reportedly refused to leave Los Angeles without her girlfriend, DJ Samantha Ronson. The source said: “She won’t be away from Sam. She’s too insecure.”
Lindsay hasn’t even been tempted by junk food bought for her by her worried sister. The source explained: “For a while, Ali was buying her pizza, fries, chips and all her favorites. But she just sits there, taking a few bites, then picking at the rest. She really isn’t fooling anyone.”
Lindsay’s father Michael Lohan also recently revealed he is worried about his daughter’s weight. He said: “Lindsay goes through her fluctuations in weight for different roles. I’ll talk to her about it - I’ll see what’s going on.” Michael expressed his concerns on social networking website Twitter. In the first of a series of posts seemingly aimed at Lindsay, he wrote: “Eat. please.”

Well If Michael Lohan says he?ll talk to her about it, I?m sure it?ll all be fine. Wait? no. But that?s a great way to make sure Lindsay continues not to eat, in an attempt to piss him off. Hell I hate Michael Lohan so much that I can guarantee you I?d do the opposite of anything he ever asked of me, no matter how detrimental or ridiculous. And what the hell ? instead of talking to her, he Twitters? Yeah, I?m sure that?ll really open her up. Moron.
A lot of people believe it?s a lot more than stress that?s causing Lindsay to lose weight. Her past substance abuse issues make most of us think she?s on drugs again. Rarely do I consider Dina Lohan a positive presence, but in this case moving home might be a good idea. If nothing else, Lindsay’s family might finally notice it?s more than stress, and maybe get her some help. I?m sure some of Dina?s ?home cooking? will get Lindsay back to her fighting weight in no time. Or whatever it is she does to comfort her kids.

Coming Soon has the first look at Angelina Jolie in Salt, “a spy thriller about a rogue CIA operative who tries to clear her name after she is accused of being a Russian sleeper spy.”
The role was originally meant for Tom Cruise whose character was called Edwin A. Salt, but Cruise pulled out last summer which caused them to change the character to Evelyn A. Salt and cast Jolie.
Does anyone else see a striking resemblance to Jennifer Aniston. Not because of the blonde wig, but because of the air of desperation that seemingly surrounds this sad and lonely woman?

The Britney Spears Circus Tour is mere hours from its kickoff in New Orleans, and sources from within camp Spears say the show is ready to go on. The Spears entourage arrived in Britney’s home state over the weekend, including her ex-husband and her two sons. But Britney is hyper-focused on rehearsing the show and is channeling her nerves into practicing dance routines. Because there is no way in hell Brit-Brit is going to be singing live.
Britney Spears kicks off her world tour — her first concert tour in fives years — tonight in New Orleans. What can fans expect?
“You can expect spectacular-ness,” her manager Larry Rudolph said on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM radio show Tuesday. “We ran the show twice yesterday until 2 or 3 in the morning, and it was amazing … perfect. She goes full- speed the whole show ? about an hour-and-a-half. It’s pretty intense.”
“There’s only one time where it slows down - with two ballads in the middle,” he added. “This is a full-blown, full-out Britney Spears show. It is a pop extravaganza. It is everything everybody expects from her ? and more!”
Rudolph went on to say that the Circus tour might be Spears’ “best one” yet.
“There are so many highlights to this show. The costumes are amazing,” he said. “It’s the biggest production out there and maybe the biggest production ever launched. We have circus performers, aerialists, dancers, martial artists ? we have all kinds of things.”
Spears is “a little” nervous, he added.
“She has this nervous energy. She’s got this way of channeling it,” said Rudolph. “I’ve said to her before that if you were on a football team and you were going to the Super Bowl, they’d want you to be their quarterback. When it comes to game day, nobody brings it like she does. She takes that nervous energy and turns it into the most amazing show.”
Her average tour day: “She?ll probably sleep late … probably get up, have breakfast, and we’ll leave to go to the venue at around 4-4:30, spend a little time, relax, hair and makeup around 6 or 7 and stage thereafter.”
Having sons Sean Preston and Jayden James around “helps a lot,” Rudolph said. “The boys give her amazing inspiration and amazing strength. It’s been a great thing watching them with her throughout this whole process.”
A source tells Usmagazine.com that her ex Kevin Federline “has rented an apartment in New Orleans, as this will be his and the kids’ base during the southern leg of the tour.”

An advanced copy of Britney’s set list from the show reveals that she will perform songs mostly from her last two CD’s, although it’s rumored she will close the show with “Hit Me Baby One More Time.” Given how much is riding on this show, she has every reason to be nervous. But let’s hope “nervous energy” isn’t code for “whacked out on pills and Red Bull.” Seriously, though - as much as I believe Britney isn’t ready for the grueling schedule of a world tour, I do hope it’s a personal and commercial success for her. Of course, the big winner here, regardless of whether the concerts go well, is Kevin Federline. He’s getting a mind-boggling $5k a week just to follow Britney around and pretend to look after their kids.

Not surprisingly, Rihanna?s family isn?t pleased that she?s back with Chris Brown. Though her father publicly stated that he supported whatever decision she made (which I still don?t understand), other family members think she?s making the wrong decision and worry for her safety, according to People magazine.
Rihanna may have spent the weekend in Miami with Chris Brown, but her family isn’t quite ready for the tumultuous couple to reunite.
“Everyone wants them to take a break, to cool off,” a relative of Rihanna tells PEOPLE after the pair returned to Los Angeles together early Monday morning. “No one wants them back together.”
Family thought that the relationship was over after Brown allegedly battered Rihanna on Feb. 8. The couple went their own ways for awhile ? he went home, while she recuperated in Barbados and Mexico ? but the separation was short-lived.
The pair reunited in Miami last weekend, spending time at the Star Island mansion of Sean “Diddy” Combs. A source close to the couple told PEOPLE that the couple was “definitely together” and working on a reconciliation.
“I’m concerned,” continues the relative. “I don’t want her to make a mistake, and I don’t want her to ever go through his again.”

I?m so disappointed that Rihanna went back to him. Domestic violence is a complicated issue and I won?t pretend to understand it completely. But it’s impossible not to worry for Rihanna?s safety. Yeah I bet Chris Brown is going to be more careful, but that doesn?t mean I believe he?s not going to hurt her again. Everyone?s going to be watching him all the time, waiting for him to explode ? and he knows that. And that?s probably going to make him even angrier. As volatile as their relationship obviously was before, I think the situation Rihanna?s in now is far more dangerous.

While it?s long been reported that Michael Jackson is making a comeback, Brittan?s Sky News has a legitimate sounding article stating that the King of Pop is planning a string of concerts this summer at London?s O2 Arena. Since Jackson has suffered from all sorts of health problems ? in addition to stage fright - it?s thought that performing itself isn?t the reason he?s getting back on the stage. Rather it?s his dire financial state. Sky News postulates that Jackson simply has no choice but to pull himself up by his bootstraps and start to sing again.
Sky News understands that, after years of rumours, Michael Jackson has finally agreed to perform a string of concerts in London this summer. The 50-year-old will end his exile as a live performer by staging a residency at the O2 Arena, in one of the biggest comebacks in pop history. While the exact dates of the shows are yet to be revealed, Sky sources say that Jackson has exchanged contracts with the venue and is now committed to return to live performance. The first dates of the concerts will be confirmed at a news conference on Thursday at the O2. Jackson will appear in person to make a “special announcement”, his spokeswoman confirmed.
A small number of shows will be released initially but more dates will go on sale, emulating Prince’s successful 21-night stay at the venue in 2006, if interest in the shows is as high as promoters expect. It seems inevitable that the concerts, which sources say are the only live shows he is planning, will sell out instantly but what is never certain with Jackson is his behaviour.
While there has been no confirmation on the record about the shows, sources close to the star have spoken of his excitement at his live return. An insider said his health has improved markedly in recent months, described him as looking “much better” and stressed that the concerts “will be amazing”.
Whether he has been able to work on his fitness to sustain a residency will be one of the key questions ahead of this series of dates. But it may be that Jackson’s finances are now in such a state of disrepair that quite simply has no choice but to go back to work. If he were to emulate Prince’s record residency at the 18,000-capacity O2 then he could play to an estimated half a million fans, which according to some experts could generate in theory up to 50m.

The 02 Arena is the biggest concert venue in London. There?s no doubt that Jackson could probably fill the whole place? but for an entire string of concerts? That?s hard to guess. Not to be overly cynical ? because it does sound like the concerts are legit, since his spokeswoman confirmed he?ll be making an announcement at the arena ? but even if he does plan concerts and sell tickets, that doesn?t mean Michael is ever going to show up. I mean this is the guy who claimed he couldn?t come to court because of a spider bite. His health is notoriously fickle, and his hypochondriac delusions even more so.
There was a report yesterday that Jacko wants NINE doctors at his concerts. You know, just like any sane performer. The source is quasi-suspect, so grain of salt and all that. But it doesn?t seem at all out of line, considering the eccentricities in which this man is known to indulge. If his health really has improved, he has the potential to truly shock people by actually delivering a great show. But if he?s the same Michael Jackson he?s been for the past 15 years, something tells me everyone will be sadly disappointed.

This week’s Star Magazine claims that action star Mark Wahlberg has been staying at a hotel along right near his home. Mark has a five month old son and two other children at home and his excuse for staying at a hotel is supposedly that his son is teething and that he needs to sleep for work. His latest project isn’t filming at this point, though, and it seems like there should another bedroom or a couch he could sleep on that’s far away enough from the noise. Maybe their house is smaller than you would expect, though:
Is there trouble on the home front for Mark Wahlberg and his fiance, Rhea Durham? On Feb 15, the former rapper was spotted checking into the Beverly Hills Hotel, just minutes away from the house he shares with Rhea and their three children, Ella Rae, 5, Michael, 2, and Brenda, 5 months. One insider reveals that Mark has been telling friends he’s sleeping away from home because Brendan is teething and he needs a good night’s rest while working on his movie The Fighter - but the movie hasn’t even begun shooting! “Mark really dotes on his kids, so for him to leave and stay in a hotel less than five miles away seems strange,” says the insider.

This is Star Magazine, so it’s likely they’re only going on some photos that show Mark outside the hotel with a bag. The photo they include with the article has Wahlberg looking scruffy and grumpy in jeans, a jacket and work boots while carrying a small bag. It’s hard to tell if that photo was taken at the time they’re claiming. Mark looks annoyed to be photographed, but that’s how he always looks so who knows what’s going on with him.
The last we heard about Mark’s planned nuptials to Rhea, he said that they would have a small Catholic wedding in LA, maybe in late summer. You wonder if they’re going to make if offiical, though, if Mark is staying at a hotel right near his house. That seems more like relationship trouble than any kind of issue with a crying baby.

Some people will disagree, but I?ve always found Andie MacDowell to be drop-dead gorgeous. She has a natural, earthy-yet-sophisticated beauty, like a throwback to Ingrid Bergman. However, I don?t think much of Andie?s acting ability. She?s not… talented. She was okay in Sex, Lies and Videotape and Four Weddings and a Funeral, but other than those films she?s never really impressed me. I don?t even remember her being in a major movie in the past five years. The only time I see her are in those well-lit L?Oreal ads.
But Andie MacDowell is chiming in about ageism and Hollywood, and no, it?s not yet another actress complaining about the lack of meaty roles. Andie says that ?mature? actresses have it fine in Hollywood, and that the idea of a sexy older woman is becoming more prevalent everyday. Andie says that women who complain about the lack of roles are just obsessed with negativity. Thaindian News has more:

The 50-year-old face of L?Oreal claims that mature actresses have it easier than they make out of it.
?How do I think the industry?s changed? Films have changed a lot. I think women are finally able to get older and be sexy just like men. So I?m really enjoying that part - that?s my evolution,? the Daily Express quoted her as saying at a UNICEF event in LA.
She added: ?I think sometimes we seem to obsess on negativity. I think role models exist but they usually don?t get the light because people like scandal.?
However, the actress’s comments could enrage other senior actresses like Faye Dunaway.
Last year, Dunaway attacked Hollywood film producers for giving the likes of Jack Nicholson and Clint Eastwood on-screen lovers half their age, while she could only play ?sisters and mothers?.

Meh, a little from Column A, a little from Column B. A film critic recently pointed out that in the ?Golden Age? of Hollywood, many over-forty actresses were still playing meaty lead roles in romances, dramas and comedies. Which isn?t really the case any more. When an over-forty actress takes a big role now, the publicity machine ramps up and she gets tons of questions about her age, and all of the stuff that comes with it. I?ve said it before, some of the best parts for ?older? actresses these days is on television. So Andie is right about one thing - the media will continue to obsess about the negative, even if more mature actresses are getting work in film… and television.

The Hills star revealed some gripping details about her new book L.A. Candy yesterday. The book is the first in a series of three, giving Americans three valid reasons to stop reading completely.
According to her MySpace blog: “They will tell abehind-the-scenes story of a young girl who moves to L.A. and unexpectedly becomes the star of a reality television show. The books will be loosely inspired by my own experience andare definitely influenced by my own life.”
Sweet Jesus, that sounds compelling. Here I was thinking her talents stopped at acting, fashion design, and constipated pre-commercial-break facial expressions. Guess I can add “master storyteller” to that list. Sometimes God just picks somebody and gives ‘em all the gifts.

Remember those Miley Cyrus jogging photos from yesterday that made it seem like she was itching for a photo op? Miley says that wasn’t what that was about. There’s a perfectly reasonable explanation, actually. From Us:
But Cyrus shot back: “I don’t get why people are allowed to take pictures and make them something they’re not, but I guess that’s just how their job works and how they’ll make the most money.”
So why was she dressed so skimpy?
Cyrus said she was with her 8-year-old little sister, who “wanted to have a car wash. So I was like, ‘OK, we’re going to have a car wash.’”
They agreed to wash Gaston’s “really hideous truck.”
“It’s, like, 100 degrees out,” said Cyrus, who wore shorts and a bathing suit top under her mom’s baggy T-shirt.
“As I’m running, it got a little bit lower and you could see a little of the bathing suit top,” Cyrus said. “So, oh my goodness, Miley Cyrus wears a two-piece! Kill me! I?m wearing a two-piece. … with an 8-year old.”
Oh, ok. So the real photo op was when Miley soaped up Justin’s truck in a two-piece. Like in those movies or that Jessica Simpson’s music video. Gotcha. And this was all suggested by Miley’s 8-year-old sister. Either that’s a really convenient excuse or Miley’s sister is a huge pervert.

It’s a big day for Britney Spears — she kicks off her comeback tour tonight in New Orleans and begins her campaign as the new face of a Candie’s clothing line being sold exclusively at Kohl’s department stores. Star Magazine quotes her as saying
“I’m so excited to be the face for Candie’s Only at Kohl’s. Candie’s and Kohl’s are doing such great things with my tour. It’s great to work with a line that has such cool clothes and accessories!”
Of course, the union is bound to head south once Britney realizes she gets free clothes from the company and not free hard sugared confections. I give it six weeks before she sues Candies for “false and misleading representation on account of their name bein’ so dang confusin’.”

They’re always more than happy to help out a charitable cause, and last night (March 2) Justin Timberlake and Liev Schreiber were spotted at the TriBeCa Ball Fundraising Gala benefitting the NY Academy of Art.
The “SexyBack” singer was all smiles as he arrived at the swanky event, sporting a black wool topcoat over a black leather jacket with a red plaid scarf and jeans.
Meanwhile Mr. Schreiber looked quite dapper himself in a black suit complete with a black sweater-vest and a black necktie.
Liev was also one of the evening’s honorees, along with his gal Naomi Watts and “Top Chef” host Padma Lakshmi. The evening raised money for the education and future of artists through the Academy’s scholarship and public programs.

She’s no stranger to action thriller roles, and for her next film “Salt,” Angelina Jolie will once again keep her audience on the edge of their collective seat.
The “Changeling” chick plays the role of Evelyn A. Salt, said to be a Russian sleeper spy on a mission to assassinate the President.
For the role, Ang will don a plethora of different disguises including wigs and costumes, adding a visual flair to the film’s already explosive nature. Producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura told press, “You’re supposed to be kept guessing. She tells you her agenda, but are you supposed to believe it?”
He added, “She’s a character you never know. People who think they know the real her may or may not. Those who think they can tell whether she’s in a disguise also may or may not.”

Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson looked cute and non-clingy at the premiere of their film Marley and Me in London last night. Aniston wore a sky blue strapless dress that was casually elegant if a little too long for her. She paired it with sandals, a stacked gold necklace, and a great looking sparkling bracelet cuff with a concentric design featuring a large stone. I thought she looked great. I loved how Owen Wilson wore a pair of dark sneakers with his suit.
Yesterday the news came out that Aniston has a new interview with Elle Magazine UK in which she basically says it really doesn’t matter what she says as it will be picked over and taken out of context.
My husband brought me home a stack of magazines from his trip to England last week and OK! magazine’s UK edition, March 3 issue, has what’s presented as a “new” interview with Jennifer Aniston. I started to write it up, thinking it was a new interview and mentally damning Aniston for always giving similar comments that don’t provide enough new information for a story. It turned out that parts of the interview were word-for-word the same as an interview already published in Hello! Magazine last September - that I covered. Either Aniston gave the interview in a press conference or it was resold to OK!, which presented it as fresh to coincide with the UK Marley and Me release.
Aniston is right that her words will be skewed and misinterpreted. I found just one example of how they were repurposed in the same country. People will read that, though, and think “Aniston always says the same thing,” without realizing that it’s an interview they’ve already partially read. It took me a while to even figure it out and I typed up both interviews from the magazines.
I saw Aniston and Wilson’s “Wetten, Das” appearance over weekend and they were both incredibly good sports and dealt with it all with class. Aniston ate a dog biscuit after Wilson lost a bet, even though she technically bet against him and shouldn’t have had to do it. Host Host Thomas Gottschalk said that it was so nice to see a star who was “easy,” meaning easy going. That’s a good way to describe Aniston, even as the press tries to make it hard for her.

Actress Halle Berry has finally broken into the celebrity fragrance market after two years of researching and studying the art of perfumery. According to the Daily Mail
Halle [said, "My new fragrance] is very sensual, very natural, very much reflective of the outdoors. The top notes of the scent are Sicilian bergamot, fig leaves and pear blossom. I added olibanum, which is an African root, which brings spice to the fragrance, and sandalwood, which smooths everything out and makes it yummy.”
I guess she felt she had to include something indicative of her African heritage to make the perfume truly authentic. Good thing she went with a root instead of Congo-Crimean Hemorrhagic Fever or malaria. I don’t know how well they’d translate with such heavy floral base notes.

Earlier in the evening she was spotted with costar Owen Wilson for the London premiere of her hit flick “Marley and Me,” and last night Jennifer Aniston was all about hitting up a swanky after-party.
The former “Friends” hottie looked lovely as she arrived at the Shoreditch House, sporting a blue ruffled-bottom dress with a cropped black jacket.
As for her former failed marriage with “Fight Club” stud Brad Pitt, Jennifer recently told Elle UK, “No matter what I say, things will always be taken out of context and misinterpreted, will always be turned around to make it seem as though I won’t let something go, or that I just keep talking about it over and over.”
Aniston added, “I don’t owe anybody anything. I don’t owe anybody my side of the story. There are no sides! There is no bad guy and there is no good guy. There are no villains and there is no heroine in this story. It’s just not the case.”

Clive Owen rarely gets into details about his life with wife Sarah-Jane Fenton and their two daughters. He sometimes makes a casual slip, like the USA Today interview where he claimed that his daughters were obsessed with Jennifer Aniston, or the Esquire interview where he talked a little about his marriage.
So it was surprising to read Clive?s recent interview with Irish Independent, where he talked in depth about how he and Sarah-Jane make it work. Spoiler alert: it doesn?t involve hot affairs with random gossip-blog readers. Damn! Clive gives a lot of credit to Sarah-Jane, saying that she has always given him the leeway to go and work and she gives him ?space and freedom?. He also mentions in passing his total obsession with David Bowie. More from Irish Independent:
[Clive Owen] met his wife Sarah-Jane Fenton in his early twenties when they played the title roles in a Rada production of Romeo and Juliet. When they had children 10 years later, Fenton put her career on hold to be a full-time mother, allowing Owen the freedom to pursue his own opportunities.
I ask him if there have been moments when, like Watts’ character in The International, he has been forced to tailor his career as family considerations come into play?
“Amazingly, no,” he answers. “I give all credit and thanks to my wife Sarah-Jane for that. She has always given me the freedom to go and do that. I can honestly say I’ve never chosen a film because where it’s shot is convenient. I’ve just been in Australia for three months. But it’s very tough — it’s tough for me; it’s tough for the kids.?
“But I make sure there’s a balance to it. I make sure that if I’m off doing a film that then there’s time off afterwards. But all that juggling is made very easy because Sarah-Jane is so cool and gives me the space and the freedom.?
“She has maybe once in my entire career at some point called and said: ‘You need to stop and take some time off. You’ve been away too much’. I listened to her straight away and did that straight away. But ultimately she is the one who keeps the family together and gives me the support and the freedom so I’ve never felt constricted or felt I have to choose or not do something because of family commitments.”
It’s rare for any relationship to work in the kind of circles Owen is now part of, let alone one that existed before one half of it became famous. Though Owen admits that he’s “a little obsessive” about his work, he doesn’t appear to go in for any of the trappings that go hand-in-hand with stardom, meaning that when he’s not working his family and marriage is the focus of all his attention.
“I think Sarah-Jane and I work at it, but ultimately I give most of the credit to her. She keeps it all together. I feel I have everything. I have a very solid, lovely family life and I go off and I make movies and completely fulfill that part of my life too. I never take that for granted. I appreciate that and understand what a gift it is, but most of the credit is hers. I picked a good one.”
Sarah-Jane and their two daughters, Hannah, 12, and Eve, nine, came out to visit him during the school holidays. Owen is an avid Liverpool fan, insisting on having sports channels piped into his trailer wherever in the world he’s filming. He admits being “very intimidated” by singer David Bowie and Liverpool footballer Steven Gerrard. “I can meet any actor but not those two.”
As a treat, his daughters wore Liverpool shirts when they came to meet him but aside from that touching gesture he claims they see their dad as a figure of fun. “They always laugh at me. They don’t take me seriously in the slightest. They think I’m a joke.”
[Clive] would make a good Bond… he [appears] on every ‘best dressed’ and ’sexiest man alive’ lists whenever they’re compiled. What does he think of such praise? “My 12-year-old girl had one of her friends go up to her with some magazine and go ‘Ugghhh. Your Dad’s on this list. It’s so weird’. I pretty much feel the same.”

As far as the David Bowie stuff goes, I?ve known a couple of David Bowie fanatics in my life, and they put all other celebrity-fans to shame. I?ve seen completely heterosexual men lovingly apply a full face of make-up to attend a Bowie concert. I?ve seen girls try to pretend they?ve got it going on like Iman. Not happening, Bowie-loonies.

Jessica Simpson keeps on talking… and talking and talking. When we last heard from Jessica, her statements included such gems as calling one of her exes a ?butthead? and remaining remarkably classy about all of the ?controversy? about her weight gain.
Her newest statements came at yet another concert. At least this time she wasn?t performing at a chili cook-off, so at least we can be grateful for that. Jess told her fans that she hoped that they would follow her ?career? rather than ?follow what people say about me?. She also talked about her heroes in the country music business, like Dolly Parton and her boyfriend?s hero in the football business, John Elway.

Clad in Daisy Dukes and white platform pumps, the singer, 28, opened the show at the Pepsi Center with a cover of the Nancy Sinatra classic “These Boots Are Made For Walkin’.”
“Can I get a yee-haw?” she asked the crowd. As her show went on, she got more confessional.
“I don’t know how many of you have followed my career. I hope you don’t just follow what people say about me,” she said, presumably referring to the hype over her weight gain.
Simpson — whose last two films went straight to DVD — then added, “Hopefully, you actually follow whatever career I have.”
She also told the crowd she has Colorado roots. “I lived here when I was in kindergarten. I lived in Littleton,” said Simpson, who grew up in Texas. “I have always admired John Elway,” a retired Colorado quarterback.
She said she and her father Joe once waited two hours to get Elway?s autograph when she was a little girl. “We still have it,” she said. “For Tony [Romo, her beau], John Elway has always inspired him.” She then launched into a rendition of “You’re My Sunday,” which she said she wrote for Romo.
Before belting out “Pray Out Loud,” she talked about growing up with her father, a former minister. “As a family, we’ve always stayed together, prayed together,” Simpson said. “They taught me a lot of values. I’m sane because of them!”
She also praised Dolly Parton for being “such an inspiration. Dolly gave me the confidence to be who I want to be. I can be whatever I want to be.” Simpson said the title track to her first country album, Do You Know, was written by Parton.
Before leaving the stage, she dedicated “Remember That” to those who “have ever been in an abusive relationship.” She didn’t identify the ex that hurt her but called him “a butthead.”
Simpson told audience members who have been abused to “find strength, value yourself and take heart.”

Jaybird?s right, we should admire Jessica?s spirit and her inability to let negative press get her down. She?s a relatively harmless person - you can tell, even calling an ex a ?butthead? was pretty harsh for her standards. I?m still wondering who it was that Jessica was referring to. Nick Lachey? John Mayer? Or perhaps one of the guys she was rumored to be hooking up with back in the day, like Adam Levine of Maroon 5, or Johnny Knoxville. Who knows.
The only thing I find the least bit objectionable is the whole thing with Jessica?s father teaching her ?values?. I?m not buying that, even if Joe Simpson used to be a man of God. Men of God don?t talk about their daughter’s breasts in the press. No way, no how.

The Oscar winning actress was overseas promoting “The Burning Plain,” joining director Guillermo Arriaga on the red carpet at the Cinema Publicus.
Scheduled to hit theaters in the States in September 2009, the drama also stars Kim Basinger and Diego J. Torres, among others.
As for the plot, IMDB describes Charlize’s new flick as “a drama with a two-tiered storyline concerning a mother (Basinger) and daughter (Theron) who try to form a bond after the young woman’s difficult childhood.”

I’ll do that for half an hour and watch an episode of ‘Friends.’ It goes by so fast and doesn’t feel like you’re really working out.”
And when she’s not getting into tip-top shape, the recently married singer confesses that she’s all about “American Idol”.
Fergie tells, “I love ‘American Idol.’ It’s one of my favorite shows, [but] it’s hard for me, being a singer, to watch these people get criticized horribly. It makes me feel bad, but I can’t stop watching.”
