She has always been an animal lover, and earlier today (April 2) Amy Smart was spotted at the launch of PetArmor Protection Promise.
The ?Butterfly Effect? starlet was more than happy to play with some furry friends throughout the event, held at the ASPCA Headquarters in New York City.
Ms. Smart hosted the shindig to raise awareness among pet owners of the arrival of spring?s flea and tick season, and to help educate and prepare them to protect their pets.
Amy told press, "As an animal rescue advocate and proud dog mom, I am so excited to be working with the ASPCA and PetArmor on this wonderful campaign that supports a cause I care so deeply about. I encourage pet owners everywhere to participate in the Promise and help ensure all pets receive the protection they need."

The beautiful mother of four, Heidi Klum was spotted with her dad as she picked up her kids from a karate class in Brentwood, California on Saturday (March 31).
Showing off a fresh face with hardly any make-up, the "Project Runway" star wore a striped maxi dress with a leather jacket and ballet flats as she set out to round up her kids.
As Heidi faces a divorce with her now former husband of seven years, Seal, the model has her good friend Sandra Bullock by her side to help escape the heartache and stress of the split.
After the duo were spotted enjoying a girls night out, a source told UK magazine Closer, "They banned talk of exes and spent the night laughing. It was just what Heidi needed".
Sandra supposedly called Heidi last week, saying "they were going out for some fun" and has been there for her ever since their friendship began.

Emma and Bruce got hitched three years ago, and announced this past October that they had a baby on the way.

Since his wife is 22 years younger than him (and consequently, one year younger than his oldest daughter), his daughter is young enough to be his granddaughter. Yup, it must be nice to be a rich and famous male. Says US Weekly,
Bruce Willis has a brand-new special lady in his life.
The 57-year-old actor’s second wife, Emma Heming, gave birth to a daughter, Mabel Ray Willis, on Sunday, their rep told ETonline.
Little Mabel Ray weighed in at 9 pounds, 1 ounce, and both baby and her model-designer mom, 35, are doing well. This is the first child for the couple, who tied the knot in 2009. The rep added that Willis and Heming are “overjoyed” by the arrival.
It’s the fourth daughter for Willis, who has three girls with ex-wife Demi Moore: Rumer, 23, Scout, 20, and Tallulah, 17.
Holy crap, 9lbs. 1oz? That’s one big baby. And if Bruce’s dominant genes won out again, most of the weight was probably in her chin.

I wish I could accurately describe how much pleasure these LeAnn Rimes photos gave me. It?s not just because LeAnn is wearing this hideous Stella McCartney dress, which at this point, the dress is so over-worn by celebrities, it needs to be dragged out into the street and put out of its misery. As for LeAnn?s dress – as I said, it?s Stella McCartney. Jennifer Lawrence, Gwyneth Paltrow, Brooklyn Decker and many, many more celebrities have worn this dress or a version of this dress for public appearances over the past few months. Which is weird – why would LeAnn choose a dress which has been so over-worn? Did she not realize? Or did she just think she could do it better? Hahahaha. The Mail even points out that Nicole Kidman wore a long-sleeved version of this dress to a country music show last year – a show where LeAnn performed. OMG, is LeAnn Single-White-Female-ing Nicole Kidman now? To give LeAnn some minor credit – her body is looking much better lately. She gained some weight back, and it looks really good on her.

A trucker-hat-wearing d-bag was just cast as Steve Jobs. Seriously! At first I was all, ?Jesus, why Ashton Kutcher for Steve Jobs? Is this somebody?s idea of a joke?? And then I went and looked up some photos of the young Jobs. I hate that I can actually see a strong resemblance between Ashton in his 30s and Steve Jobs in his 20s. They could be related. Still, if you?re doing a bio-pic about one of the most beloved/revered businessmen of the past century, do you think Hollywood would have actually thought about this for two seconds and decide to go with an actor with some talent?
Ashton Kutcher is attached to star as Steve Jobs in Jobs, an independent biopic being produced and financed by Five Star Institute’s Mark Hulme.
Wasting no time, Joshua Michael Stern is set to begin principal photography in May while Kutcher is on hiatus from CBS sitcom Two and a Half Men. Kutcher is a natural to play Jobs; the resemblance between the two is unmistakable.
CAA is handling domestic rights to Jobs.
It’s a high-profile assignment for Kutcher, and Jobs looks to get off the ground before Sony pulls together its own Steve Jobs biopic. Last fall, Sony snapped up the film rights to Walter Isaacson’s authorized biography of Jobs that was published within weeks of Jobs’ death on Oct. 5, 2011.
Stern (Swing Vote) will direct Jobs from a script by Matt Whiteley. The film will chronicle Jobs’ meteoric rise from Northern California hippie to co-founder of Apple.
Kutcher, known for comedy, has tried at his hand at drama, including The Butterfly Effect. He also appeared in the ensemble drama Bobby, about the assassination of Sen. Robert F. Kennedy in Los Angeles.
Hulme appears to be a newcomer to the film financing scene. He’s CEO and founder of Five Star Institute, a Dallas-based mortgage industry group.
Kutcher is represented by CAA and Untitled Entertainment; Stern is represented by CAA and 3Arts.

Ugh. I?m just? disappointed. There are about a dozen better actors that could play this part. By the way, does anyone else remember that TV movie in the 1990s about Jobs and Bill Gates? It was called Pirates of Silcon Valley, and Noah Wyle played Jobs, and Anthony Michael Hall played Bill Gates. That was a surprisingly good TV movie – it?s always stuck in my head for some reason. Anyway, I don?t think I?ll be seeing this one. I won?t be seeing it because of Ashton, true, but I also dislike this trend of doing bio-pics two seconds after a man dies.

Am I the only one around here who used to love Salma back in the day, but as the years go on, I find her more and more insufferable? I get the feeling that many of you have always disliked her. But for me? it?s rough because I used to consider her one of my favorite women. Not so much anymore. Anyway, Salma is trying to relate to all of us in the cheap seats, I?m assuming. Being married to a billionaire makes you forget how to relate to people, I think. Here are some highlights:
She used to be depressed about her pimples: ?My skin?! When I was 25 and I left being a soap opera star in Mexico to go try to be a movie star in Hollywood and all of Mexico was laughing at me? And I could barely get work as an extra? You want to talk about bad skin? I had acne. And this acne was so bad, it sent me into a severe, severe depression. Like I couldn?t leave the house. I?d wake up in the morning and lie there and touch my face before I got up, just to prepare myself to look in the mirror!?
She used to overeat too: “The next stage with that sort of depression is food – too little or too much. Guess what I did? I was fat and broken out. I couldn’t leave the house and I couldn’t pay the rent!”
A director friend saved her: ?Alfonso Cuarn?amazing director?he came to the house. He did not play it down, he did not try to say, Oh you look fine. He said you can?t do this to yourself and taught me to meditate, relax. I got myself back together!?
She?s never Botoxed: ?Botox, trust me I?ve been tempted?but I resist! Think about what happens to your muscles?and your skin?if you?re sick and don?t move for a few days. It all atrophies! Plus, if you freeze a muscle in your face, other muscles have to compensate! And once you stop, what does that look like??
Living in Paris: ?It?s nuts, how good the people look, too,? she continues. ?Nobody?s overweight, everybody?s well dressed, no tennis shoes?somehow, even though they walk all over the place, everyone manages to wear real shoes, nice shoes.?
Parisian hair: She points at her chic, low ponytail. ?This is very Parisian. My husband, it?s funny, but he hates it when I have this Parisian hair! He loves my crazy-maniac-madwoman just-got-out-of-the-shower hair. He is like the lawyer for my thick, wild, natural hair. He?s like, ?Why make it suffer?? But you know for 45 years I?ve got this big hair, and these big boobs, and I?m this tiny person and sometimes?you just want to be … smaller.? She flips the ponytail, flashes her kohl-lined lashes. ?He?s probably right?my mom always said, ?You think you know better than God???
Skincare: She went on Accutane. ?I didn?t want to, but it cured it. Since then my skin?s forever sensitive and dry.? Before this episode, her skin had always been pretty good, she says: She?d spent her childhood practically swimming in face creams and potions, all concocted by her grandmother, who gave them to family members and friends. ?She?d take me with her to the pharmacy to get her materials. She knew what she was doing?she died at 96, with no wrinkles!?
Fatty foods = no wrinkles? ?You know Latin people? African-American people? How our skin ages more slowly? Even though we?re dramatic, we move our faces, we eat higher-fat foods, we?re the ones with fewer wrinkles?it makes you wonder.?
Diet and exercise: ?I like to eat,? she sighs. ?I?m always on the edge of how much can I eat without looking too?you know. If I eat something salty, it makes me want something sweet. I eat something sweet, then I want salty. And exercise is not my thing, though I do it. ?Not like Demi [Moore, her close friend]. She?s so disciplined, I wish I could be like that.? She looks at me; Moore has been reported to be in rehab. ?You watch,? she says. ?Demi will be back. She?s an inspiration to all women.?
Looking good for her billionaire husband: ?If you?re in love with someone, you always want to conquer them anew. Even if we don?t go out, I like to look nice for him. He inspires me. Here are photos of Paris Hilton in Sydney, Australia (no doubt giving a new meaning to “down under”) while appearing at the launch of a new nightclub where her DJ boyfriend, Afrojack, was due to earn far too much money by spinning a few tunes. Stuff like this is basically the extent of Paris’ appearances these days, and her career isn’t looking to make a comeback at any point. After all, she’s already made another laughworthy go at launching a musical career (with her “Drunk Text” video) after an attempt to relaunch her reality televsion career has ended in disaster (“The World According to Paris” was cancelled after one season). Last summer, Paris threw a hissy fit and stalked out of a “GMA” interview after the interviewer asked her about her waning fame and being eclipsed by Kim Kardashian and family. Now an Aussie news station is officially “on notice” from Paris’ camp as well after they dared to ask her about life after fame:
Paris Hilton has shown how anxious she is about fading into obscurity. The heiress was greatly “offended” when questioned about losing her fame and got an Australian TV crew banned from a red carpet event for daring to broach the subject.
The socialite who has always been most famous for being famous, and well, for that pesky sex tape, was being interviewed by Australia’s morning TV show, “Sunrise,” with simple questions like what her typical day is like and the show her DJ boyfriend Afrojack was putting on that night at a big club opening.
Correspondent Edwina Bartholmew also politely asked Paris, “What about when you’re not famous anymore, what are you going to do?” The 31-year-old Hilton responded by saying that she “just wants to be able to have children and have a normal life with my kids.”
Although she said it all in her typical Paris baby-tone complete with a smile, her publicist later made it clear that the heiress was not happy with being asked about losing her fame. Sunrise producers were told that if they aired the full interview they would not be allowed on the red carpet at the club opening that night.
The show didn’t take kindly to being threatened by Hilton and ran it anyway, and the clip of the segment provides a hilarious insight into the real world of Paris.
As RadarOnline.com previously reported, Paris traveled Down Under with other celebrities like Minka Kelly and Nick and Vanessa Lachey for the opening The Star casino?s new club, Marquee.
A peeved Paris peered off-screen and walked off camera, leading to what Harris called “a long, heated conversation with Hilton and her publicist” before taping of the segment resumed.
Things did not end on such friendly terms with Channel 7, the Australian network that broadcasts Sunrise. They’ve now been banned from interviewing Paris ever again.

I think she’s still in denial about how much her “star” has fallen, and she’s also probably hoping to reclaim her celebutante greatness after the inevitable coming demise of the Kardashian Klan. For the second year in a row, Taylor Swift walked away from the Academy of Country Music Awards with the annual ceremony's top prize of Entertainer of the Year.
Much more composed this time around, the calm and collected "Mean" singer took the MGM Grand Garden Arena stage during Sunday night's (April 1) show to be handed her prize from presenter Lionel Richie.
Beating out fellow nominees Jason Aldean, Brad Paisley, Kenny Chesney and Blake Shelton in the fan voted accolade, Taylor first voiced her admiration for the four fellas in which she beat out.
Miss Swift spent the rest of her time onstage mentioning 18-year-old leukemia patient Kevin McGuire - who was supposed to escort Taylor to the ACMs, but was unable to do so as a result of his medical condition.
When Mr McGuire revealed at the last minute that he wouldn't be making it to the Sin City country celebration, Swift immediately responded with a heartfelt tweet reading, "Just talked to Kevin McGuire," adding "He's not well enough to join me at the ACMs. Please keep him in your thoughts. I'll make it up to you, Kevin!"

Adding a little springtime color to the festivities, Sara Evans made a dazzling arrival to the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards in Las Vegas on Sunday evening (April 1).
Taking place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena, the "A Little Bit Stronger" singer was clad in a high-slit Pink dress as she took time to greet fellow musicians, fans and media members prior to the ceremony.
Not just another pretty face, Miss Evans hopes to nab the award for Female Vocalist of the Year while also getting the chance to show just why she got the nomination during her scheduled performance.
Hosted by Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire, the 2012 Academy of Country Music Awards also feature performances by the likes of Carrie Underwood, Zac Brown Band and a special ditty from Lionel Richie and Friends.

Ready to delve into one of the bigger dates in her calendar year, Carrie Underwood made a fashionable arrival to the 47th Annual Academy of Country Music Awards
in Las Vegas on Sunday evening (April 1).
The 29-year-old was decked out in a shimmery silver frock as she worked the press at the MGM Grand Garden Arena prior to show kickoff.
With a full night ahead of her, Carrie is among the star-studded lineup of performers set to take the stage during the annual ceremony.
Miss Underwood is also in the running for multiple trophies, as she's vying for Female Vocalist of the Year honors, as well as Vocal Event of the Year accolades for her team-up with Brad Paisley on "Remind Me".
With the ceremony set to kick off at 8PM ET/PT on CBS, the 2012 ACM Awards are once again being hosted by Blake Shelton and Reba McEntire.

Fresh off of a performance at Saturday night's Kids' Choice Awards, Katy Perry has followed up the appearance by treating her fans to a newly released lyric video.
The eye-popping visual offering is the companion for the 27-year-old's single "Dressin' Up," which is a part of "Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection".
Among the flirtatious lyrics comprised in the track, Miss Perry can be heard cooing, "Be a good boy, and I'll show you the rest. Librarian, dominatrix/ Oh boy, tell me your fantasy/ Tonight's the night. Tonight I'm gonna come alive/ Make you forget about your nine-to-five."
Also including a fast-moving viral clip for "Tommie Sunshine's Megasix Smash-Up," the lyric video ended up tagged with a "may cause seizures" warning - with the cautionary statement reading: "This video may cause viewers with photo sensitive epilepsy and other similar types of conditions to potentially experience seizures."
