As we discussed on Friday, Amanda Bynes was ? somehow ? released from a psychiatric facility on Thursday and she was seen wandering around LA, talking to herself and generally seeming unwell. This was a strange turn of events because just a few days prior to that, Amanda?s mom and dad got another conservatorship over Amanda?s finances and medical care. Upon her release, Amanda took to Twitter and once again claimed that her father had abused her, plus she tweeted some stuff about the microcysts under her eyes and how she was going to go to court to fight for her freedom. In any case, Amanda?s parents did go back to court to sort out what is turning out to be a massive clusterwhoops, or what could be seen as a microcosm of how our country deals with mental illness.
A judge has denied Amanda Bynes’s attempt to wrest full control of her life back from her mother. On Friday, the actress sent a lawyer, Art Santiago, to appear in court on her behalf to contest a temporary conservatorship placed by a judge earlier this month that gives her mother control over her medical and financial decisions until at least February next year.
With both of Bynes’ parents, Rick and Lynn, present in the courtroom, the judge ruled that Santiago could not legally represent the star because he is not her court-appointed attorney, thus striking out her bid for legal and financial freedom. Saying he’s been in contact with Bynes for the past two weeks, Santiago told the judge he “convinced her to voluntarily take her medication” and has been “following her progress.”
“I’ve been dealing with her for the past two weeks and believe I’m the only one she can trust,” Santiago added.
The actress was released from a psychiatric treatment facility on Thursday, three days after a judge ruled that she needed to spend at least another month there. Bynes, 28, contested her involuntary treatment three days after the court ruling in a mandatory hearing at the facility, during which a hearing officer deemed her stable enough to be released.
Bynes’s mother, Lynn, was granted a temporary conservatorship on Oct. 22, allowing her control over the star’s medical and financial decisions, but not her psychiatric treatment. After leaving the treatment facility, Bynes was spotted roaming the Sunset Strip in Los Angeles late Thursday night wearing a dark coat and large sunglasses.
She also returned to Twitter, posting erratic Tweets that insulted her family’s lawyer, her father, and sometimes-manager Sam Lutfi, who played a role in getting her into treatment. Adds a source close to Bynes: “She said she was going to fight her parents in court because she didn’t want them to control her life.”

Okay, so the court sort-of confirmed that Amanda?s mom does have the legal standing to be the conservator over Amanda?s medical care and finances. Sure. But where is Amanda? One of the last sightings of her was apparently Thursday night, when she was turned away from a hotel. According to TMZ, Amanda grabbed a wad of cash and threw it around the lobby. WHERE IS SHE?

Heidi Klum always finds a way to one-up herself in the Halloween department. She scored major points last year with her elderly lady costume after previously grossing everyone out as a skinless cadaver right before she divorced Seal. What do you think Seal does on Halloween since the divorce? He probably appreciates staying at home and handing out the candy. Heidi must be exhausting on Halloween, but she’s still the queen of her favorite holiday.
Anyway. This is Heidi’s 2014 Halloween costume. She went as a glorious butterfly and documented the whole makeup process on Twitter. The attention to detail on this costume is unbelievable. Her artists included gossamer wings, antenna, and creepy, bugged-out eyes. Did you want a close-up shot? Here you go.
Rihanna dressed up as a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle. If you can tear your eyes away from the rack, this is an intricate and well-executed costume.
Adam Levine and Behati Prinsloo disguised themselves as your worst memory from the 1980s. Is Behati dressed as Jane Fonda? Hi-top sneakers.
Iggy Azalea knows what you’ve been saying about her, and she’s fine with it. Ig and a friend went as the Wayans Brothers in White Chicks. You gotta respect someone who can make fun of herself.
Iggy’s arch nemesis, Snoop Dogg, hosted Tao as his confusing alter ego, Snoop Todd.
Khloe Kardashian and Scott Disick dressed up as a kitty cat and a sheik. The costumes weren’t as much of an issue as Khloe’s caption: “Sheik p****.”
Ellie Goulding went as Vanessa Hudgens at Coachella.
This is my pick for love-hate costume of the year: Zachary Quinto as Shia Labeouf. Nice package, dude.
In the gallery, you’ll find Cara Delevinge and Kendall Jenner as Super Mario and Luigi; January Jones as a Christmas tree; Dwayne Johnson as Ghostface; and Miley Cyrus as a person wearing clothes (?). Lady Gaga ripped a tablecloth from a Parisian restaurant and called it a ghost costume. How avant garde.

Taylor Swift was a ?pegacorn? for Halloween. No, it?s not a sex thing (but it sounds like it, right?). Swifty is a Pegasus + unicorn = pegacorn. She wanted to be a unicorn with wings. It?s sort of cute. I?m glad she didn?t go for a Sexy Maid/Nurse/Whatever. I?d much rather see women dressed up as pegacorns rather than sexy whatevers.
Anyway, Taylor had a really amazing week. Her album, 1989, dropped and it became the first and only platinum-album debut of the year. This is actually a two-fer: the last time an artist went platinum in their first week was 2012, when Taylor released Red. Taylor?s label, Republic Records, threw her a ?private party? in Soho last Thursday to celebrate. There were gormet white truffle burgers and a cake shaped like a Polaroid camera.
Vulture also had a great analysis on Taylor Swift?s earnings, real estate, album sales and tour grosses ? go here to read. By their analysis, Swifty is probably sitting on just shy of $200 million after taxes. My guess? It?s probably a lot more than that. Taylor tops nearly every list of the top-grossing tours, albums, etc. Anyway? it?s good to be Tay-Tay. It?s profitable to be twee.
Last thing ? Taylor was on Ryan Seacrest?s radio show and she danced and lip-sync?d to Iggy Azalea. It was brilliantly awkward, hilariously dorky and everything in between. This is the kind of thing where I go? ?Okay, maybe she might be sort of fun as a friend.?

LeAnn Rimes loves Halloween. She goes all-out every year, especially since she manages to get her ?Bonus Boys? every year for the holiday, I guess. LeAnn and Eddie Cibrian usually work a theme, coordinating their costumes somewhat successfully. One year they did a ?redneck? theme, with LeAnn looking trashy and Eddie wearing a mullet wiglet. One year they did a Grease theme, with LeAnn as Sandy and Eddie as Danny. This year, LeAnn and Eddie went old-school. Like, really old school. They were Lucy and Desi from I Love Lucy. Out of all the possibilities? this one makes some kind of stupid sense. Eddie is Cuban-American, like Desi Arnaz. LeAnn is? er, okay, she?s nothing like Lucille Ball.
I was sort of surprised that LeAnn didn?t tweet a crazy amount of photos. She posted the kissing pic of herself and Eddie with the message ?Lucy, I’m Home #firstofmany #HappyHalloween #havingthebesttimealready.? Shouldn?t Eddie say ?Lucy, I?m home?? #emasculating. LeAnn also posted a photo with her Bonus Boys, who dressed up like Green Arrow and the Joker.

I might have to give Kim Kardashian some begrudging credit for her Halloween costumes this year. Why is that? Because Kim resisted the urge to expose her body in weird and unique ways. I guess she just saves that kind of stuff for non-Halloween days. For Halloween this year, Kim did two different costumes. The second costume is above, the head pic. Kim was Anna Wintour and she put North West in a little black muumuu, which means North was Andre Leon Talley. There?s also a mini-Karl Lagerfeld and a Grace Coddington. Grace Coddington was played by Kim?s makeup artist and friend Joyce Bonelli and Joyce?s son was mini-Karl.
People think that Kim is aiming for that second Vogue cover. Perhaps. That would certainly piss people off and the crazy would go next-level. I think Kim?s costume is pretty clever though ? she clearly searched out and found a really great Wintour Wig. Too bad she didn?t spend the money for a real Chanel suit. That costume suit looks budget as hell.
The other set of Halloween costumes? Kim was a skeleton. Basically, she wanted to wear something skin-tight, but I do like her makeup there. And North got a little skunk costume, which is ADORABLE. North is such a cutie.
