Keeping up on the tip-top frame he chiseled out for his "Prince of Persia" role, Jake Gyllenhaal was spotted hitting the gym in Studio City, California on Thursday (June 3).
The 29-year-old actor definitely got in a proper workout session - as he left the gym all sweaty after attending a Pilates class.
Meanwhile, Jake recently spoke with the Miami Herald about what inspired him to pursue a career in the movie-making business.
Of this, Gyllenhaal answers, "I love the puzzle of movie making. I love the kind of strange equation that comes out, when it works and when it doesn't. I love the idea of putting pieces together and that if you change something here, it affects everything else."
As for working for Jerry Bruckheimer in the recently released "Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time," Jake tells, "He has a knack that movies are about fun. It's been great making this movie and then promoting it and have people see it. People just go: `I had a great time.' I was brought up thinking that movies were very serious and this and that. I don't believe that anymore. After working with Jerry, it's a sense as if movies are like notes on a piano. There are major chords, minor chords, unresolved cadences, and major chords with resolved cadences. There are so many different ways of making films, and he knows how to have his audience [enjoy] an incredibly good time. He brings out the best in the people who are working for him."

Getting to work on a brand new project, Janet Jackson was all smiles on the set of "For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow Is Enuf" filming on location in New York City on Thursday (June 3).
Proudly flaunting her short new hairdo, the 44-year-old was joined by director Tyler Perry and co-star Kimberly Elise for the day's filming duties.
As for the film, which also stars Whoopi Goldberg, Kerry Washington and Anika Noni Rose, a synopsis via IMDB tells that it's "a drama based on Ntozake Shange's about existence from the perspective of 20 nameless black females."
Aside from her movie endeavors, Miss Jackson is said to be on cloud nine with her new relationship with 35-year-old millionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana.
An insider close to Janet told InTouch magazine, "He seems to have given her a new lease on life since her brother Michael died. He's younger than Janet, taller than Janet and far richer than Janet. He has become her knight in shining armor. For the first time in Janet's life, she's with a man who pays for everything. He's filthy rich."

A recent tabloid report suggested that Jennifer Aniston was going to star in the upcoming ?Scream 4? film, but the movie representatives have put that rumor to rest.
A rep for the Weinstein Company, which is producing the horror flick, told Us magazine that the casting report is ?not true.?
The rumor claimed that Ms Aniston would be playing a woman killer off in the opening sequence of the thriller as a favor to pal Courteney Cox, who is reprising her role in the movie along with husband David Arquette.
Instead, Jen is sticking her usual comedies, romances and dramas- according to IMDB she has four films in pre-production and a plethora of others in the works.

Here are some nice photos of Taylor Swift, all for the July issue of Marie Claire. I feel like Taylor was just on the cover Marie Claire. Let me check? nope, I was thinking about her recent Elle and Allure covers. To be fair, she?s styled the same way most of the time, although one magazine did give her either a wig, or they straightened her hair, and all of a sudden she looked like the most sophisticated girl. The curly hair makes her look young, and it makes her look ?country?. So I guess it?s staying.
As far as the interview goes, I?m only skimming it for highlights - the full piece is here. There?s a lot about Reba McEntire and how much she and Taylor have some kind of lovefest going on. Let?s see? Taylor talks about how busy she is, and there?s a little mention of John Mayer, who I still think Taylor is dating/screwing. With thoughts like that, it?s easy to see why I have a hard time liking her right now. But she can come back! Here are some more of the highlights:
MC: Thanks to Twitter we know that you may be doing something with John Mayer and T-Pain. Could you talk about working with those artists, the freedom, and what?s that like for you creatively?
TS: I love making new friends and I respect people for a lot of different reasons. For me, great music doesn?t just have to fall into one category or one genre and I love appreciating all kinds of music. Country music is obviously my favorite and that just goes without saying. But, I?ve always loved John Mayer and I think T-Pain is brilliant. Getting to work with people like that has been really, really fun for me. It?s something that I?ve always wanted to do and the fact that country radio has been so wonderful to me and has remained so true to me despite the fact that I?ve gotten to go and do all these things that I?ve dreamed about doing. It?s just been a really, really cool thing.
Thousands of girls are running around in sundresses and cowboy boots. Is this a fashion phenomenon for you?
Yes! That?s awesome. I wasn?t trying to start anything. I wasn?t trying to make people dress a certain way, but seeing girls coming to my shows wearing sundresses and cowboy boots and curling their hair is one of my favorite experiences ever because I remember when I was weird for dressing the way that I dressed and I was weird for having curly hair. It?s really fun to see that I?m not that weird anymore.
What do you do to keep from burning out?
As far as burning out, I get tired a lot, but I never get tired of it. I remember when I was a little kid and I used to sit there and think about how lucky I would be one day where people cared about the words that I wrote or how lucky I would be if someday I was just walking through the mall and saw some little girl walking by with my face on her t-shirt.
When you spend so much time daydreaming about things like that, when that actually happens you don?t ever complain about it. When I go to a restaurant, yeah I know that a line is probably going to form in front of the table, but didn?t I always wish for that? Yeah, I did. So it?s like, I never want to be the girl who wanted something so bad her whole life and then gets it and complains about it. I?m not going to be that girl.

She sounds like a nice girl. That?s always what I?ve thought about her - maybe she?s not the greatest country-pop crossover talent ever, and maybe her success came too fast, too soon, but she?s always remained rather winningly sweet to me. I can only imagine how nave she is about men, though. To go from Taylor Lautner (who probably wouldn?t touch her without a contract in place) to John Mayer (who was probably about to wank on himself at the thought of doing douchey sh-t to Taylor), this girl needs some mature girlfriends in her life to show her the ropes.

Not shy when it comes to showing off her figure, Kelly Brook has agreed to bare all for Playboy men's magazine.
With the spread to hit magazine racks later this year, reports tell that the British glamour girl is getting paid $500,000 for exposing her bountiful assets.
The 30-year-old will be partaking in what's being described as an "artsy" photo shoot later this month in a scenic Mediterranean locale.
Of getting the call from Playboy, Kelly's agent told press, "She's absolutely thrilled. It's such a great honor for her, especially when you think about the icons that have graced the cover of the magazine over the years."
Another source told The Sun, "This is a huge opportunity for Kelly who is without doubt one of the world's most beautiful women. Playboy is an iconic publication which is known across the world as a sophisticated title. It's a real honor to be asked to do Playboy as obviously they are very picky about who they want. And by the same token it's a real coup for Playboy as there probably isn't a red-blooded male who won't be looking forward to pictures."

It took a hot minute for PETA to go after Brooke Shields for her weirdly worded endorsement of the fur industry. Brooke visited a fur studio in Copenhagen this spring, during which time she made her own fur coat and then endorsed a statement written by a non-native English speaker about how awesome fur was and how it was every little girl’s dream. She supposedly said “I will wear the fur garment when I follow my children to school, when I drink coffee and when I sleep,” and that “I will advocate that both my generation and the younger generation can wear fur.” Yes, you and your daughters can wear fur, if you want to look like cruel bitches who don’t care about the plight of animals.
PETA was of course all over that, and went after Brooke, citing her fading career. This was just what Tom Cruise did when he disagreed with her confession to using antidepressants, and it doesn’t add to PETA’s case:
The animal-rights organization is lashing out at Shields for visiting Kopenhagen Fur’s workshop back in March and making comments such as “I will advocate that both my generation and the younger generation can wear fur” and “I will wear the fur garment when I follow my children to school, when I drink coffee and when I sleep.”
Not surprisingly, a post on PETA’s website reads: “When I was a little girl, I dreamed about growing up to be a rock star. Or maybe a veterinarian. Or a roller derby queen. I didn’t dream about anally electrocuting animals on fur farms, but apparently Brooke Shields did.”
But the criticism doesn’t stop there, with a few potshots at Shields’ livelihood thrown in for good measure.
“We understand that when some actors’ careers begin to fade, they’ll do just about anything to stay in the limelight, including appearing in eyelash-growing commercials and starring in short-lived TV shows,” continues the post. “But Brooke, did you really want the world to remember you as a ‘fur pimp’ who stares agog at rows of animal skins?”

I don’t know who I find more annoying, PETA or Brooke Shields. I actually liked Brooke before this whole debacle, so I would say that she’ll still slightly ahead and that it will ultimately depend on how she handles the fallout. Is she going to issue a statement clarifying her endorsement, or stay silent for fear of jeopardizing whatever she got paid for this? This incident speaks to both Brooke’s poor judgment and the sad fact that she’ll do just about any commercial. Jezebel ran a brief piece last summer “Why is Brooke Shields in every commercial?” in which they noted that she is a spokesperson for “Tupperware, Coppertone, Latisse, World Gold Council, Colgate, milk, Fertility Lifelines, and more.” I found a couple that Jezebel missed - Volkswagon and Godiva chocolate. What’s next for Brooke? Can she sink any lower than endorsing fur? Is her career as a celebrity spokesperson going to be jeopardized by an association with a fur company? We can only hope she becomes a little less ubiquitous.

I didn?t realize that Britney Spears? conservatorship was up for review today, but according to Radar, there?s a hearing today, and Britney isn?t even going to show up for it. Why not? Radar?s source claims that Britney is aware enough of her ?complex issues? and that the people around her feel very strongly that she?s ?not ready? to take care of herself. Apparently, it?s not really up to Britney, or Jamie Spears, or anyone in her family, though. There?s only one person who gets to decide if the conservatorship should continue or end - an LA court commissioner.
Janet Jackson may sing about being in Control - but Britney Spears can only dream about it. Spears’ battle to regain control of her vast fortune rages on, RadarOnline.com has learned, with no end in sight.
On Thursday morning, Spears, 28, will have a conservatorship status hearing in a Los Angeles courtroom.
A source close to Spears exclusively tells RadarOnline.com, “Britney won’t be in court for the hearing. It seems highly unlikely that the conservatorship will end by the end of summer. Britney’s just not ready, yet. She has her good days and bad days. Britney has complex issues that on a personal and professional level, and that is the reason the conservatorship is still in place.”
L.A. Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz is the sole person who can determine if and when the conservatorship will end. When that time comes, a formal hearing will take place, and if the commissioner has enough evidence to support ending the conservatorship, she will at the appropriate time.
Spears - who has had a history of erratic behavior - has been under conservatorship since 2008. Under the decree, Spears’ father Jamie has control over her financial and medical affairs.

I can?t say that I disagree with Radar?s assessment. Even if Britney does come to her own hearing, it probably wouldn?t make much of a difference - the conservatorship is likely to continue for months more, if not years. I wonder if there?s a way to ease off parts of the conservatorship, just to see how well Britney functions when she?s given parts of her life back, and gets to make some of her own decisions? Or is that what Jamie Spears has been doing gradually? As far as we know, Britney has been allowed to spend more time with her sons, and have some semblance on independence, although she?s still monitored heavily.
If recent tabloid stories about Britney are even half-true, however, I think Britney might be doing worse. One story had her hacking off her hair at Disneyland, and there have been too many stories about her lack of undergarments, although going bra-less is probably not a sign of insanity.

Apparently, Miley Cyrus and her boyfriend of a year, Liam Hemsworth, have broken up. It?s being widely reported at this point, and I tried to trace back where the stories had come from, because no matter what you read, this split hasn?t been ?confirmed? yet. I think this is all coming from the new issue of the National Enquirer - most sources trace back there. Here?s a compilation of the story:
Miley Cyrus is reportedly single again. The teen star is said to have split from her hunk of boyfriend Liam Hemsworth following a huge argument at her Los Angeles home.
The stars, who met on the set of their film The Last Song in 2009, were allegedly living together at the singer/actress’ new mansion in Toluca Lake but Hemsworth is said to have moved his belongings out following a fight last month.
Cyrus apparently grew jealous of Liam?s success after he landed a top role opposite Sir Anthony Hopkins in the forthcoming Arabian Nights.
?The result was a vicious fight ? and Liam bolted,? a source told American tabloid the National Enquirer. ?He said he?s tired of her folks? interference, and that Miley?s jealous that his film career has taken off.?
Liam ? who was living with Miley at her new mansion in Toluca Lake ? didn?t show up to the ?Hannah Montana? wrap party and a few days later, moved back in with his brother Chris at the Hollywood apartment they previously shared.
And Cyrus herself appears to have confirmed the romance is on hiatus - when asked by the tabloid about their relationship status, she is quoted as saying, “(We) are on a break.”
The insider adds, “Miley, her family and all her baggage are too much for him to handle.”

Do I buy that they broke up? Sure. I think Miley is probably high maintenance and very-self-involved, and Miley seemed to have zero clue about how nave she sounded when she started telling journalists that she and Liam were ?deeper? than everybody else. I?ll also buy that Liam was probably totally scared off by the Cyrus family. Wouldn?t you? I mean? Trace Cyrus? Billy Ray? Noah? Tish. That family is all kinds of wrong. As for Miley allegedly throwing a hissy fit over Liam?s career? can you see it? Sort of. For all of her big talk about changing and growing up, she?s still a little brat sometimes/most of the time. I can see her being all ?You can?t go and work on that film, you?re supposed to be with me!!! All. The. Time!?
However, this does throw her recent comments about Nick Jonas into question - CB reported on Tuesday that Miley had told an audience in reference to one of her super-cool songs, ?It?s about two people? They?re always gonna come back together no matter what anyone says or the bad people that try to keep you apart. Surprise surprise, it?s about a Jonas brother?you didn?t hear that.? Yeah? it sounds like Miley wants a little rebound Jonas ass.
Oh, and I bet Billy Ray is thrilled! For real. He hated Liam. Next, The Mullet is going to get Miley to go back on Twitter!

As soon as people got their hands on Kristen Stewart?s Elle UK interview, there were a series of quotes that immediately got passed around. Kristen was discussing fame, the paparazzi, and how she handled everything. Instead of showing a bit of grace, or acknowledging that she is part of a corporate machine hellbent on making billions of dollars on the idea of vampires who sparkle. Instead, Kristen said:
?What you don?t see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction?All you see is an actor or a celebrity lit up but a flash.?
?It?s so?The photos are so?I feel like I?m looking at someone being raped. A lot of the time I can?t handle it. I never expected that this would be my life.?
?Your little persona is made up of all the places that people have seen you and what has been said about you. And usually the places that I am are so overwhelming in the moment and fleeting for me?like one second where I?ve said something stupid, that?s me, forever.?

Rape crisis groups are not happy with Kristen Stewart’s bizarre comment that being famous is almost like being “raped.”
“What you don’t see are the cameras shoved in my face and the bizarre intrusive questions being asked, or the people falling over themselves, screaming and taunting to get a reaction,” the Twilight starlet told the latest issue of Britain’s Elle Magazine.
“The photos are so … I feel like I’m looking at someone being raped.”
Not surprisingly, the analogy has drawn stiff criticism from rape support groups around the globe.
“Clearly that kind of violation is not the same as rape… it’s just not the same,” said Harriet Lessel, the executive director of the New York City Alliance Against Sexual Assault.
“I understand that Kristen Stewart was expressing that she feels violated. Sure violation is a form of sexual assault, but it’s the most serious and the most personal. It’s clearly a poor choice of words.”
Stewart also used the interview to admit it is “annoying” when she is relentlessly asked if she and Twilight co-star Robert Pattinson are an item.
The 20-year-old said: “What I say is, that, why would I want anything that’s private to become entertainment for other people? … People say that if I just tell them everything I?ll be left alone, but God, you think if I tell people they?ll leave me alone? They pick up every little scrap, and that?s much worse.”

I think Harriet Lessel?s criticism is kind of an understatement. Obviously, rape crisis centers around the world don?t want to make an enemy of the Twilight franchise. They would be bombarded with Twihard civil disobedience, I think. Protesters, sit-ins, badly-written letters, all to defend Kristen?s asinine ?rape? statement. Kristen just needs to back down and say ?Actually, now that I?ve thought about it, it?s nothing like rape. The paparazzi are just inconvenient.?

Nasal-voiced wonder Fran Drescher, 52, was married to a man for 21 years who ultimately came out as gay. Fran is best of friends with her ex, Peter Marc Jacobson, a writer/actor who co produced the hit 90s sitcom on which Fran starred, The Nanny. The two were separated for several years before divorcing in 1999. Now Jacobson and Drescher are working on a sitcom together loosely based on their true life experience. It sounds positive and potentially fun, although given their past work it could easily veer into pure cornball territory:
Fran Drescher has never been shy about voicing her support for gay rights: In 2008, she and her former husband co-hosted a cocktail party in LA to benefit an organization that has sought to block California’s ban on same-sex marriage. But it turns out that the cause was even closer to the Nanny star’s heart than her fans could have guessed — as In Touch can now exclusively reveal, Peter Marc Jacobson, the man to whom Fran, 52, was married for more than two decades, is gay. “Peter and I met when we were 15,” Fran tells In Touch. “We were just kids and didn’t know who we truly were. We went through a lot together.” The couple split for good in 1999, and according to an insider, Peter later came out of the closet to Fran. They continue to collaborate and are still “the best of friends. We love each other dearly,” she says. “We have even fixed each other up! I more successfully than him, by the way.” They’re even working together on a new sitcom based on their relationship. “Peter and I feel so blessed to have met each other and to still have a caring, loving relationship,” Fran says. “Love is what we’re all about.”

It sounds like these two are still pitching this show and hoping to get some interest in it. They could probably use the money, but I bet they still do pretty well off the residuals for The Nanny. As annoying as that show is, it really appeals to international audiences and is shown in 20 other countries around the world, including Australia, Italy and Russia. I see it dubbed on German TV all the time. Maybe this new show will be a hit for them, although it’s hard to imagine that it will be groundbreaking in any way or involve any characters that aren’t predictable stereotypes. Hopefully their storytelling ability has matured in the past 10 years.

Busily traveling about Europe, Sienna Miller was spotted making her way around town with her mother, Jo, in Paris, France on Wednesday evening (June 2).
The Miller ladies quickly walked along the crowded city streets as the "Layer Cake" actress led her mom towards the Gare du Nord terminal station.
Aside from her hectic travels, Sienna has joined up with "Love Actually" director Richard Curtis to judge a Robin Hood Tax film contest.
A press release tells that "applicants for the competition are being asked to make a 60- to 90-second video reflecting the aims of the campaign and inspiring others to sign up."
Of the effort, Miss Miller said, "By making a film you are not just helping the campaign, you are joining a generation that has started to say enough is enough. We want to see your vision for the future, a future without poverty. The Robin Hood Tax is an idea whose time has come. Simply put ? when governments tax the banks, they shouldn't forget the poor and the planet."
The big winner is to receive a masterclass with Curtis, which will be on full YouTube homepage display, along with state of the art camera equipment.
