Looking to be at a healthier weight these days, Tori Spelling was spotted outside her Los Angeles, California home on Thursday (August 12).
The ?Mommywood? author looked done up and cute as she exited a chaffeured vehicle and headed inside for a quick photo shoot with husband Dean McDermott.
In other news, Tori and fam recently attended the Disney/Pixar ?World of Cars? party, where Spelling revealed what kind of car she prefers.
?I?m a big car girl. The bigger the car, the better. I think because I?m small?if I?m in a big car I give the illusion that I kick a?,? she joked.

All this time, I?ve thought that Stylist Magazine was an American publication that I had just never run into in person, but it looks like it?s a British mag. Anyway, Stylist got a decent interview with Angelina Jolie, probably to promote the British release of Salt. The cover shot is recycled from Angelina?s 2008 Vanity Fair photo shoot, and parts of the interview sound recycled from Angelina?s interview last week, which was attributed to Grazia magazine, that I thought sounded kind of bullsh-tty. That being said, I think this interview is for real:
In a new interview with British mag Stylist, Angelina Jolie once again defends her daughter’s buzzed-about tomboy style.
“It’s not my choice,” Jolie, 35, claims of her and Brad Pitt’s eldest biological child, who favors polos and pants over frilly dresses.
“I have a very strong willed four-year-old girl who tells me what she wants to wear and I let her be who she is,” the Salt actress says. “I think children should wear what they want and express themselves, so we give them different options of things.”
As an example, Jolie mentions Zahara, her adopted 5-year-old daughter: “Zahara dresses very much like a girl, very Pink and flowery, very feminine.”
The mother of six also gives new details on the origins of Shiloh’s iconic pixie haircut.
“Shiloh cried and said, ‘Please cut my hair off, I don’t want to have long hair.’” Jolie recounts.
“I’m not going to leave it long because somebody thinks I should,” she says “I want to do what’s in her head and what’s in her heart is to dress like that. I think it’s beautiful.”
Another controversial topic? The beginning of her romance with Pitt — which most date to the set of their 2005 flick, Mr. and Mrs. Smith, when Pitt was still married to Jennifer Aniston.
“It didn’t begin on the film set,” she insists of the romance. “We became friends on the film set, but [the relationship] began after.”
How did she know Pitt, now 46, was the one? “At a certain age, having gone through enough experiences, I think you know. It wasn’t courageous, it was more comforting to have found my family.”
And now that they have such a large brood of kids — which also includes sons Maddox, 8, Pax, 6, and 2-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox — they have to be strategic about their alone time.
“[We] have to schedule it,” she confides. “We don’t normally have anyone spend the night with our family, so once every week or two weeks we’ll ask somebody to spend the night, so we can go and be alone together. We just go to another part of the house and lock the door.”
Angelina Jolie also talks meditation. She confesses to being a highly-strung person and although it’s been suggested to her to take up meditation she gets her tranquil moments from playing with her kids. Angelina said: “I find meditation in sitting on the floor with the kids colouring for an hour, or going on the trampoline. When I wake up in the morning, I jump out of bed ? partly because I have a lot of children. And I pace when I’m on the phone. It’s actually very hard for me to calm down.”

I wonder how Empress Z ended up such a girly-girl and Shiloh ended up such a little tomboy? You would think that Shi would try to emulate Z, right? But maybe Shiloh doesn?t realize that Z is going to be ruler of all. Not yet.

According to Australian magazine Famous, the former Spice Girl has a bun in the oven, but Beckham?s rep says it isn?t so.
The rep declared the story ?is nonsense? and Victoria doesn?t seem too eager to expand her brood anytime soon.

Showing off her combative side, Marisa Miller was spotted learning to sword fight at Swordplay Fencing Studio yesterday (August 11).
The Victoria?s Secret hottie was getting instruction on how to wield a weapon in preparation for her new Captain Morgan ad campaign, and she looked great doing it.
Aside from her fencing interest, Marisa recently spoke with Esquire magazine as she explained why she finds motorcycles (and the men who ride them) so attractive.
Her top five reasons are:
1. The Sex Appeal
A man on a motorcycle turns me on because a man on a motorcycle is automatically bad ? a little bit tough, a little bit rugged ? and, for pretty much any woman, automatically hot.
2. The Leather Jacket

Jessica Alba is the cover girl for the September issue of Cosmopolitan. Is anyone else laughing their ass off that the absolutely BRILLIANT editor stuck ?Untamed Va-jay-jays? on Alba?s vadge? The placement of that headline makes me think that Alba will be talking about her untamed vadge, but alas, it?s not to be. So far, Cosmo hasn?t released their story, but Alba did give a nice interview to The Telegraph. It?s a long piece, so if you want the complete interview, go here. Here are some highlights:
Alba on marriage: ?Marriage is tough,? admits the actor, who secretly tied the knot with film producer Cash Warren in 2008. ?Everyone goes in with the best intentions. But you have to adjust and be sensitive to somebody else?s needs, and that?s quite hard for some people. Most people just want to be selfish and do what?s right for them, but marriage kind of flips all of that. It shakes you up a bit because, all of a sudden, you have to coexist with somebody. It?s hard work.?
On Cash Warren: ?When I first met him, I felt like I?d known him my whole life. He felt like family. And my parents are a pretty good example of showing me it could work. They got together when they were 16 and 17 years old and are still happily married. So, with that kind of example, it seemed possible,? she pauses and laughs. ?Regardless of the statistics.?
On getting married before the baby was born: ?It?s not something I take lightly,? she explains. ?I?m quite traditional in that sense.?
On the secret elopement: ?Our wedding was about us and our commitment to each other. It was something we just wanted to do with each other.?
On fame and freedom: ?We have a totally different freedom in France,? she muses. ?In LA, it?s hard to get around without being followed [by the paparazzi] all the time. It makes you a bit paranoid. There?s nothing I can do about it, though. I don?t want Honor to be weird and grow up in a bizarre bubble where she doesn?t see people. I don?t want her to see people doing things for her mum all the time, because that?s not who I am. I don?t hire people to do my grocery shopping or my day-to-day stuff. I want her life to be as normal as possible.?
Fighting hard for her career: ?I come from nothing,? she explains, with a hint of defiance. ?No one in my family is in this business, so there was no nepotism. I got to where I am by putting my nose to the ground and doing the best I could. People told me I should be concerned about my career when I decided to take a year off to have a baby. But my gut instinct is that any life experience makes you a better actor. Without it, I wouldn?t understand a lot of the women I play.?
Losing the baby weight: ?Taking if off sucked,? she laughs. ?You don?t think about it when you?re gaining it. I didn?t care. I just wanted her to be healthy, so all I did was eat and sleep, and subsequently gained a lot of weight. I was like a jolly person with a big tummy, a big bootie and big boobies. Then an opportunity came up to shoot an advertisement and make some money ? I hadn?t worked for a year. And I thought, OK, if nothing else, it will motivate me to lose the baby weight. I shot the ad about three-and-a-half months after I had her, and I really had to bust my ass. I managed to lose about 15 kilos in a pretty short period of time. Then it took me until she was about a year-and-a-half before I lost the next 10 kilos.?
On her daughter: ?Nothing is of any importance now but her and her well-being,? she says. ?My whole life revolves around her. I?ve done four movies [since her birth], but I?ve only worked a few days on most of them. She?s my number-one priority. ?There was nothing else but my career before. I was completely defined by it. Now I have my family, which is more fulfilling. I?ve always wanted a big family.?
On her career highs and disappointments: ?There was a lot of success and it was wonderful,? she says, stifling another yawn, ?but that?s not why I started acting. I went to my agent and said, ?I don?t want to work just for the hell of it. I love what I do for a living and if I?m going to continue being an actor, I don?t just want to be slotted into any movie and do something that isn?t going to challenge me. I want to work with great film-makers.? So that?s what I set out to do this year.?
On doing nudity: ?I don?t think sexuality and nudity is anything anybody should be ashamed of,? she muses. ?In my private life, I?m free and liberal about it. But I feel that, in the US, nudity is not looked at the same way. I lived in Australia for two years and there you see women who are topless and it?s no big deal. Men don?t disrespect women because they can see their breasts. But, in my country, it?s just so different, I?m just sensitive to that.?
On making those ?Sexiest? lists: ?I don?t really care that much,? she says firmly. ?I just enjoy what I do. It?s not about trying to prove anything. I grew up in Southern California, and there are plenty of girls there who are 10,000 times better-looking than I am. If I get dressed up and have someone do my hair and make-up, then I clean up pretty well,? she continues. ?But I?m not walking around thinking I?m this great-looking person.?

On one side, I think she?s realistic and honest and almost interesting. On the other side - well, she?s a lot like that other Jessica who thinks she?s the second coming of Meryl Streep, Jessica Biel. I feel like both Alba and Biel have fallen into the trap where they think they?re great actresses in need of great material, and I just think someone needs to tell them that the material isn?t coming. People (men) liked Biel and Alba because they looked great semi-naked, and they?re both pretty girls in general. But they both puff themselves up like they?ve already proven themselves as wonderful actresses, when that?s just not the case.

Jennifer Lopez has a well-documented history of outlandish diva demands, but this is one time her my-way-or-the-highway attitude has come back to bite her in the giant ass. According to People magazine:
Jennifer Lopez won?t be a judge on American Idol after all, according to a source close to the situation.
The singer-actress had been closing a deal to be a permanent judge on the show for its upcoming 10th season but the deal fell apart.
?Her demands got out of hand,? says the source. ?Fox had just had enough.?
With Simon Cowell and Ellen DeGeneres both departing the talent search, the network had been pursuing a number of celebrities as potential judges, including Aerosmith?s Steven Tyler.
I’m glad to see Fox is still planning on milking this cash cow for all it’s worth. I was afraid they were going to let American Idol exit gracefully — you know, “go out with a bang” — but instead, they’ve shot it in both knees and and are taking turns beating it with a shovel until it stops whimpering. I guess leaving a stain is almost as good as making your mark, right? Consider AI the wet fart on the metaphorical satin panties of television history.

Matt Damon is advocating for clean water and plumbing throughout the world as part of the charity he co-founded, Water.org. He appeared in a video for CNN (shown above) to show how difficult it is for people in rural northern Ethiopia to collect water for themselves and their families. People, including schoolchildren, walk hours and carry heavy jugs in order to get dirty water from a hand dug well. The risk of water-borne diseases, like dysentery and cholera, from the visibly muddy water is high. Water.org strives to bring awareness to the need for clean, potable water throughout the world as well as build safe community wells and toilets. They built a well in Adenifas, Ethiopia, and you can see the building site and celebration in the first video below. (It’s a longer version of the CNN video and the well-building starts at about 3:00 minutes in.)
Damon is expecting his fourth child with wife Luciana, which will be his third biological child. (He also has a step daughter from Luciana’s first marriage.) He’s credited Luciana with holding their family together around his varied work schedule and said that they’re now preparing for their next little tornado.” The couple was spotted at John Krasinski and Emily Blunt’s wedding at George Clooney’s estate in Italy last month and were later seen on a family vacation in Hawaii. Damon is certainly keeping busy this summer.
I’m a sucker for anything Damon does and it works out particularly well when he makes great movies and advocates for such worthy causes.
Update: This post has been up for like an hour and has one comment. I just wanted to note that the only reason I know about this video is because I get Water.org’s newsletter. It’s not like the charity is issuing press releases to the celebrity news outlets, although maybe they should be. Also, I just read this really good article on Pajiba reviewing a new documentary the reveals how bottled water is a rip off that hurts communities and the environment. It’s only moderately related, but it’s worth considering when you realize the lengths that people in remote areas go though to get water.

Betty Confidential has the news that David Arquette, an executive producer on his wife Courteney Cox’s inexplicably hit show, Cougar Town, disagrees with her stunt casting. Courtney has been trying to woo her former Friends costars to make cameos on the show, but David thinks it’s a bad idea and has been trying to talk her out of it. It was thought that Jennifer Aniston might boost ratings with a guest appearance, but rumors have her fed up with television and vowing to stick to film. That’s probably how Arquette likes it, considering that he’s allegedly against any Friends stars on the show.
We heard a while ago that Cougar Town producers were thinking of changing the show’s name to “Friends and Neighbors,” which never happened and was eventually scrapped. Was Arquette behind that decision too?

A reunion of Friends has caused a riff in Courteney Cox and David Arquette?s marriage. Although there won’t be a Friends reunion show, Courteney Cox is talking with her ex-cast members to appear on an episode of Cougar Town.
?David isn?t happy about it,” a source revealed to BettyConfidential exclusively. ?But, Courteney has called Jen (Aniston), Matt (LeBlanc), David (Schwimmer) and Matthew (Perry) to appear on her show. David doesn?t? think it?s a good idea– especially if they are all going to appear on one episode.”
He?s worried about the integrity of her series. Our source adds: ?He told Courteney, ?This is not Friends. This is Cougar Town.? They kind of got into an argument about it during a staff meeting. He wasn?t happy when Courteney asked Lisa Kudrow to appear on their show last season, but Courteney won that battle.?
This time David isn?t backing down to his wife and it’s causing some serious bickering at home. ?Now, he?s totally against the rest of the cast appearing on Cougar Town,? adds our source. He doesn?t have anything against the actors, but he thinks that was a part of her past and this is the future. Fans will only see Monica Gellar all over again when they watch the show, and he thinks Courteney needs to shake that image.?
That?s why David pushed her to do Dirt, our source claims. ?She needed to play a character that is totally opposite of Monica”. But, it looks like Courteney will win this fight as well. She?s already come up with a great plot that will involve Matthew as a long-ago boyfriend, who she bumps into causing a stir in her relationship with Grayson (Josh Hopkins). And, Jen may play a bitchy woman who steps into Courteney?s real estate office looking for a home.
?Lisa Kudrow will also make an appearance, but she guest starred on the show last season as an angry dermatologist, so she won?t have such a major role.?

This probably isn’t the only thing that Arquette and Cox are arguing about. We’ve heard rumors for some time that their marriage of 11 years is in trouble. There were affair rumors concerning Cox and a hot male co-star and Courteney admitted in a recent interview that she argues with David frequently and that they’ve “done couples therapy in the past.” I have to give her props for being honest, but it sounds like she’s bracing us for bad news, too. Adding more to the “trouble at home” rumors, David has been spotted out partying and can be seen in a paparazzi video from last week (below) drunkenly pontificating outside a club on the overturn of Prop 8. At least he had friends driving him.
Getting back to the “integrity” of Cox’s show and ensuring her character isn’t confused with Monica - does all of that even matter at this point? Cox needs to increase ratings and buzz for Cougar Town. Her last show bombed and she’s been hustling since Friends ended. She’s doing Scream IV for goodness sake. I?d read that Halle Berry was going to make her only her second appearance ever on the cover of Vogue, this time for the September issue, and here it is! Um? her hair, right? Otherwise, it?s a gorgeous shot, done by Mario Testino, of course. Okay, maybe the whole thing is a little Cleopatra, but still: YAY. I?m so happy it?s not someone like Sienna Miller or Keira Knightley. USA Today had some exclusive excerpts from Halle?s interview:
When you’re Halle Berry, you talk when you want to talk. And after a long-standing silence, the Academy Award-winning actress has opened up to writer Jonathan Van Meter in the September issue of Vogue (on newsstands nationwide Aug. 24). Berry, 43, chats about being a mom to 2-year-old daughter Nahla and her split with Nahla’s father, Gabriel Aubry. USA TODAY highlights Berry’s best bits.
On why she hasn’t given a lengthy interview in three years: “I was burned-out with having other people tell the story about me they wanted to tell. I told my publicist, ‘I’m not going to talk anymore. I’m just going to live my life and be who I am.’ ”
Why she’s talking now: “What (being on the cover of the September Vogue) means for a woman of color and what that means in the fashion world, what that means to pop culture, there was no way I could say, ‘No, I’m not going to be on the biggest issue of the year.’ ”
On her breakup with Aubry: “It’s just that you realize you are not meant to go the distance with everybody. ? We were meant to bring this amazing little person into the world. And I think that’s why we came together. And because of that, we are going to be together forever, all three of us.”
Does her no-more-marriage stance still stand? “Yes. I’m not done with love, but I refuse to settle. I am a hopeless romantic. And I won’t stop till I get it right. ? I don’t think I’m unlike a lot of people. I am just someone who is trying to find that mate, and I think it’s a really hard thing to do. And I’m not willing to stay somewhere where I am really not happy. And I am not willing to pretend I am for the kid’s sake or so that I don’t have to go through another public humiliation.”
Why she thinks ‘nature has got it all wrong’: “When you are younger, it should be harder to get pregnant, and as you get older, it should be easier. When you are so ready, you can’t do it to save your life. And when you are 21, you are so not ready, but you are ripe as could be. The eggs should become more developed the older you get, not die slowly from the day you’re born. That’s one thing God got wrong.”
On asking Nahla to say Berry’s name in case she ever got lost: “She thought about it for a second, and finally she said, ‘Halle Blueberries!’ Blueberries are her favorite fruit. ? I’m just glad she didn’t say ‘Halle Blackberry.’ ”
On being comfortable with her sexuality: “That comes with age ? I’ve been slowly getting there. If the world wouldn’t persecute me, I’d take nude pictures every day of the week.”
On the so-called Oscar curse: “People win Oscars, and then it seems like they fall off the planet. And that’s partly because a huge expectation walks in the room and sits right down on top of your head. The moment I won the Oscar, I felt the teardown the very next day. I thought, if I’m going down, I’m going down taking chances and daring to risk. Hence ?Catwoman.”
On the biggest misconception people have about her: “That I am this brooding, twisted, lovesick person who just can’t get it right in life. Every story about me is so heavy and dramatic. That’s not how I do life. But that’s the impression people have, and that’s what keeps getting reiterated. As if I’m still stuck in all the muck of the past. And I am so not.”

She definitely keeps her legal team busy, and now Paris Hilton is being sued for wearing the wrong hair extensions.
According to Gossip Cop, the ?Simple Life? babe was named in a lawsuit filed by Hairtech International for breach of contract stemming back to 2008.
The suit alleges that Paris appeared ?in magazines and on television not wearing [Hairtech International?s] hair extensions and was in fact wearing competitors? hair extension products.?
Hairtech also claims that Hilton?s jail stint in 2007 prevented her from helping to launch their new line of products and caused them to lose $6.6 million.

Little Miss ?This War Crimes Tribunal Is Such an Inconvenience? Naomi Campbell is trying to play the media following her disastrous testimony at Charles Taylor?s war crimes trial at The Hague last week. Many - including me - pointed out the contradictions in Naomi Campbell?s testimony, and the controversy was further fueled this week when Mia Farrow testified and basically discredited several key parts of Naomi?s story as to how she came to possess several blood diamonds. Also making an appearance was Carole White, Naomi?s former manager, who is currently suing Naomi for being a C-U-Next-Tuesday. Anyway, long story short, Naomi released a statement on Wednesday where she?s basically trying to act like she?s eating sh-t, but really she?s just being a lying bitch. Same old, same old.
Naomi Campbell, the model, says she has “nothing to gain” from lying during her evidence to the war crimes trial of Charles Taylor, the former Liberian leader.
Miss Campbell, who could face charges for possessing “illegal” uncut diamonds which she later handed over to the head of one of former South African leader Nelson Mandela’s charities, said she had “no motive”.
“I am a black woman who has and will always support good causes especially relating to Africa.”
She added: “I’ve never taken any of the jobs offered to me, over my 25 years as a model, from companies that were for apartheid in South Africa.”
A statement from her spokesman later said Miss Campbell was a “long time supporter of charity work in Africa” and had helped raise “considerable sums”.
The model’s role in the affair is being examined along with all those who came into contact with the three uncut diamonds which are now in police custody.
Possession of an uncut diamond is a criminal offence in South Africa with penalties ranging from a hefty fine to ten years imprisonment for repeat offenders.
Campbell gave evidence at the war crimes tribunal of former Liberian leader Charles Taylor last week in which she said she was given the “dirty-looking pebbles” by two men who knocked on her door in the middle of the night following a dinner in Pretoria hosted by Mr Mandela.
She said she did not know where the stones came from, but handed them to Jeremy Ractliffe, the then head of the Nelson Mandela Children’s Fund, the following day suggesting he “make sure children benefit from them”.
He has since admitted that he had kept the diamonds ? which he suspected might be illegal ? hidden in a safe ever since to protect the reputations of Campbell and Mr Mandela.
The prosecution in Mr Taylor’s war crimes tribunal at The Hague allege that the diamonds given to Campbell came from the Liberian leader and were “blood diamonds”, which he traded to fund a brutal war carried out by insurgents in Liberia’s neighbouring Sierra Leone. They suspect that when he attended the dinner with Campbell on September 25, 1997, he was in South Africa to arrange an arms shipment, in return for diamonds, that arrived to fuel the Sierra Leone conflict in October 1997, just days later.
Musa Zondi, the spokesman for South Africa’s elite Hawks criminal investigation unit which collected the diamonds from Mr Ractliffe’s home last week, said detectives were looking at all those who came into contact with the uncut diamonds, including Campbell, and would seek to question all parties involved.
He said that tests on the diamonds had failed to confirm whether they were, as is suspected, from Sierra Leone and police would now seek to establish their origin through its own investigations. Police are also expected to look at whether the parties who had contact with the diamonds knew that possessing them was illegal when considering possible charges.
“We are investigating an offence and who might have committed it,” he said. “We need all the facts and can’t make the determination without them. The decision on who to prosecute, that’s the job of the prosecuting authority. All we can do is to get all the facts and offer our conclusion.”
Giving evidence at The Hague yesterday, Campbell’s former agent Carole White said she stood by her evidence that she heard Mr Taylor tell the 40-year-old model that he would give her a gift of diamonds after the two spent the evening flirting.
She was challenged by Mr Taylor’s defence lawyer Courtenay Griffiths QC that she had made up the allegation that Campbell had accepted diamonds knowing they were from Mr Taylor because of a lawsuit involving the model over a broken perfume promotion contract that had been worth 2 million over the last decade.
“Your account is a complete pack of lies. You made it up in order to assist in your lawsuit against Miss Campbell. Put bluntly, for you this is all about money,” Mr Griffiths told Miss White, the founder of the London-based Premier model agency.
“It has absolutely nothing to do with my business argument with Naomi Campbell. This not about money this is about a very serious matter,” she replied.
Mr Taylor, Liberia’s former president, is the first African leader to face a war crimes trial, and indicted with 11 charges including murder, rape and sexual slavery ? all of which he denies. The case continues.

The question of why Naomi is lying has bothered me as well. I think she?s just gotten so used to lying about her actions (?No, I did not hit her in the face with my phone.?) that she?s just in the groove of it. She didn?t want to testify at the trial, and she didn?t want to disrupt her life for anything not involving beach holidays and assaulting peasants. Basically, she lied because she could, because she?s an entitled bitch.
As for Naomi?s previous testimony, on the record, that her appearance was inconvenient for her - her exact words: ?Well, I didn?t really want to be here. I was made to be here. So, obviously I?m just like wanting to get this over with and get on with my life. This is a big inconvenience for me.? So her ?advisors? released this statement yesterday: ?Campbell accepts the use of the word ?inconvenient? was a poor choice but it was made off the cuff and taken massively out of context. It was in relation to a nonsensical question as to whether or not she was nervous appearing in court. Campbell had explained that she had fears for her family having read about Taylor?s alleged crimes on the internet, hence her initial reticence in appearing.? Oh, those poor advisors. They couldn?t even convince Naomi to explain her wording herself! That?s bad.

Matt Damon is advocating for clean water and plumbing throughout the world as part of the charity he co-founded, Water.org. He appeared in a video for CNN (shown above) to show how difficult it is for people in rural northern Ethiopia to collect water for themselves and their families. People, including schoolchildren, walk hours and carry heavy jugs in order to get dirty water from a hand dug well. The risk of water-borne diseases, like dysentery and cholera, from the visibly muddy water is high. Water.org strives to bring awareness to the need for clean, potable water throughout the world as well as build safe community wells and toilets. They built a well in Adenifas, Ethiopia, and you can see the building site and celebration in the first video below. (It’s a longer version of the CNN video and the well-building starts at about 3:00 minutes in.)

Damon is certainly keeping busy this summer.
I’m a sucker for anything Damon does and it works out particularly well when he makes great movies and advocates for such worthy causes.
