Gearing up for London's Fashion Week, Rosie Huntington Whiteley stepped out for a kick off party hosted by Elle magazine on Thursday night (September 12).
Gorgeous in a black Stella McCartney jumpsuit, the British beauty accessorized her glamorous look with silver heels and a black beaded clutch as she headed inside the Sanderson Hotel.
Though she was discovered almost ten years ago and has enjoyed great success, the former Victoria's Secret Angel says she had a difficult time adjusting to life in te spotlight.
She shared in a recent interview, "The first few years of modeling were tough but now it's different. I have to take into consideration that my actions are going to be all over the papers. Now I'm at a point where I don't have to be uncomfortable - and I certainly don't need to be.''

Just know that I almost made this into a ?Who would you rather?? post between Pierce Brosnan and Emma Thompson. But the truth is, I would totally bang Emma. Emma is one of my favorite people in the world. Emma and Pierce were at TIFF to promote their new film, The Love Punch. I don?t know much about the movie other than they play ?a divorced couple undertaking a crime caper to right financial wrongs done to them in their retirement fund.? Sounds entertaining. Am I the only one who kind of wishes Emma would do more costume dramas? She?s really great in costume dramas. Sigh. LOVE HER. Anyway, Emma was in full movie-shilling mode at TIFF, because she believes that actors should always promote the hell out of their movies. She explained her reasoning to The Telegraph:
Actress Emma Thompson has given a younger generation a masterclass in selling their films, as she claims some of the new generation are ?a bit snobby? about putting in the hard work of publicity. Thompson, who appeared at the premiere of The Love Punch at the Toronto Film Festival last night, said she believed actors ought to ?bang the drum? for their own films and encourage audiences to pay to see them.
Saying some younger actors nowadays felt they are ?above this?, she went on to give a masterclass in larking about for the camera. Posing happily with fans, the 54-year-old actress adopted a range of outlandish poses as she signed autographs and gave interviews. At one point, she was photographed swigging from what appeared to be a Grey Goose vodka bottle along with co-star Piers Brosnan. The good-natured actress went on to dance her way down the red carpet before appearing at a press conference to share the secret of her success.
When asked why she felt so comfortable in front of the camera, Thompson told an audience she believed the relationship between actors and the press was ?important”. Saying she believed some young actors are ?a bit snobby about doing press? and thought they were ?above it?, she advocated her peers to publicly get behind their own films.
She added she would always tell young actors to imagine their Hollywood blockbuster was their first performance at the Edinburgh festival.
?You go up the Royal Mile with a drum and you bang that drum and you say, ?I?m in this show,? she said. ?It?s really good, come and see it.? That?s what you do. And if you don?t do that, no one will come and see your show because there are a million shows and there are a lot of people who are better than you. So you better get out on that street with that drum.?
She added: ?Explain why you love your show. Say why you think it?s good. Be behind it . . . And if you can’t be behind it,. don’t do work you don’t believe in. This is a job. Make it fun. Make it fun for other people, make it fun for yourself.? She added she felt “passionate” and “very strongly” about the issue.

She SO right. I get so tired of reading celebrity interviews where actors just seem so grumpy promoting their work. Granted, we the public now expect actors to give more of their private lives away to promote their movies, but there IS a way to balance the personal issues with the movie promotion. Look at Channing Tatum, for the love of God. Emma also told the Toronto Sun that she loved her movie because it had a happy ending:
“It was so much fun? I’m fascinated by the fact that, at the moment, we don’t seem to make films that are designed to make us happy from the beginning to the end,” Thompson said.
She cited the TIFF line-up, with “lots of very, very dark films,” as an example of the trend. “We always have to go on some journey or other,” Thompson continued. “In the ‘olden days’ we didn’t have to do that. Sometimes actors were required to entertain and make people happy for the sake of that. And it’s something that we’ve slightly lost.”
Thompson feels slightly guilty that she got paid to co-star with her friend Brosnan in The Love Punch, which was filmed entirely in France. “It was the best summer ever for us,” Thompson enthused.
The locations included Coye-la-Foret in Oise north of Paris. Coincidentally, part of the 1957 Hollywood movie Funny Face, starring Audrey Hepburn, was also filmed in Oise. In another coincidence, [director] Hopkins happened to compare Thompson’s charming comedy chops to that of the late but legendary Hepburn. That, in turn led to a Thompson quips: “I could probably fit her inside one of my bra cups,” she said of the waif-like Hepburn.
One thing Hepburn always needed was on-screen chemistry with co-stars. For Thompson in The Love Punch, that chemistry was instant with Brosnan. It helps, of course, that he had been eager for years to work with her.
“I absolutely adore Emma,” Brosnan said Thursday. “She makes me feel happy and she makes me feel like a great actor in her presence. She is so generous as a woman, as an actor, and she just bedazzles!”
Do not, however, mention the word “retirement” to either actor in real life. On Thursday — with The Love Punch amusing audiences at TIFF — Thompson and Brosnan told a festival press conference that neither has plans for an end to acting — ever.
“Retirement?” Thompson said. “I can’t afford to retire. It’s like asking a painter to stop painting. Why would you? So I would never dream of retiring. Look at Judi Dench. Judi is so brilliant and keeps working and she’s blind, actually. She’s extraordinary. She wouldn’t dreaming of retiring. It’s not in our genes.”
Brosnan, now 60 and almost a decade past playing James Bond, confirmed that has no plans to give up his career, either.
“I never think about it myself. What would I do? I’ve been an actor so many years and, God willing, I’ll continue to be an actor for years to come.”
That does not mean that things will always stay the same, however. Especially for Thompson, who threw the media a curve ball. While she usually plays sympathetic characters, that needs to stop, she said.
“I’d like to play a really bad person. Really evil! And I’d like to be in an action movie one day. You know, get really ripped and (put on) some tattoos. I’m not kidding, actually. I really would like to do that. Possibly, it’s a mid-life crisis. I don’t know.”

God, I love them both. But does anyone else think that they wasted money making this movie when really they just should have made a documentary about Emma and Pierce hanging out in France for a summer? I would watch that.

?Who shares a similar world view, who has similar values.? As I was saying, elite white women born into privilege flock together. You can see the capsule collection here ? the purses are okay, but as I?m writing this, the $770 clutch (IT?S NOT EVEN LEATHA!) and the $1230 shoulder bag are both sold out. Yes, those are the correct prices. There?s also a $1240 onesie with unfortunate bulges (ha), black pants (which you could easily find at The Limited) for $835, and a $1895 black blazer. FOR REAL. This is some racket for Goop.
Here?s the video of the Goop-Stella capsule collection launch ?English Garden Party? thing. Cameron Diaz was there. Rachel Zoe was there (awkward ? because Cameron fired Rachel Zoe last year, I believe). Various models were there. Chris Martin was there. Sarah Jessica Parker was there. Paul McCartney and Blythe Danner were there. No fatties were allowed there. No adult under 5?8? was allowed in. All of the children had to be blonde-ish too. Do you smell that? That?s the smell of trust funds.

Here are some photos from last night?s NYC premiere of Don Jon. I?m just doing the ladies! Specifically, I?m just doing fashion for Scarlett Johansson and Julianne Moore. Julianne wore this black Jason Wu gown which I really, really like on her ? she looks so much better now that Tom Ford isn?t trying to ?muse? her into wearing terrible clothes. My one complaint about the dress is that it probably would have been better suited for an awards show, right? This dress has ?SAG Awards? written all over it.
As for Scarlett, she wore this Roland Mouret dress which I absolutely loathe. I usually love Mouret dresses, and budget Mouret dresses, otherwise known as the Victoria Beckham collection. But this looks SO cheap. I guess the idea is that it?s supposed to be a fun little party dress, but it looks like an adult version of a baby?s fancy dress.
Scarlett has also been talking about relationships and trust ? because that?s what Don Jon is about ? in various interviews. There were a few quotes that I found interesting:

Johansson, 28, rocked the red carpet in a little black dress and flashed her engagement ring from the French journalist. In her new movie, the Avengers star plays a demanding, gum-snapping Jersey girl who tries to change her new boyfriend’s (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) personality.
“I am guilty of this, and so are many people ? you just want your partner to fit into the box you constructed for them. It’s easier that way,” she says. “It’s kind of like, ‘Why can’t you be more like me?’ I think that’s what we all want.”
But Johansson says that experience has taught her how to keep these impulses in check.
“The challenges of a relationship are what help you grow into an evolved person,” she says.

That?s interesting. While I do applaud ScarJo for being so trusting and self-aware, I do think she?s probably trying to sound like she?s very blas and French, like she would never throw a fit if she found out her man was cheating. And maybe she wouldn?t. She doesn?t have that reputation, like, say, Cameron Diaz. Scarjo also told E! News:
“We all are guilty of holding our partner or our imaginary partner up to these standards that are sort of impossible to fulfill. It would be much easier if the people we fell in love with behaved the we wanted them to. I’ve learned over time that what makes life interesting, relationships interesting, are the complexities of relationships and people and the fact that we can become more evolved ourselves if we are forced to compromise and accept the differences amongst one another.”

Oh so evolved! I don?t know what to think of this. Part of me thinks that Scarlett already has one marriage and divorce under her belt, so why is she pontificating about relationships like she?s the Love Oracle? But the other side of me acknowledges that she?s probably smarter about love and relationships these days after having a string of bad relationships and douchebag boyfriends. God knows. Just remember: this is the woman who banged Sean Penn for half a year. Seriously.

I think we just have to admit that Gisele Bundchen is perfect, you guys. We just have to acknowledge it and move on. She has easy pregnancies where her body barely changes. She gives birth naturally. Her babies are beautiful. She has skinny genes and her body is always tight. She has great hair. She doesn?t have to wear any makeup. She?s lives in a giant eco-mansion. She?s able to make more money than her husband but she acts like it?s no big deal. She partly owns a sandal empire. Her husband adores her. See? She?s sort of perfect. And not only that, she has two young children and a thriving career and she still has time to make nice with some local ladies in Boston (where she and Tom live most of the year). Gisele has joined a book club!
Gisele Bundchen found a novel way to make friends in the Boston burbs, home for her and husband Tom Brady of the New England Patriots. A source tells Hot Stuff that Gisele has joined a book club!
?She meets with moms from her kid?s school. They sip wine and talk while the children play.? Past reads include The Light Between Oceans and Life of Pi.
The pal adds that the model, 33, who has made $42 million this year, ?enjoys it and tries to keep up with the reading!?

Well, I haven?t read either of those books, but I?m about a third of the way through A Visit from the Goon Squad, so there. I?m sort of curious about book clubs, and I wonder if I would ever join if I was ever invited to be in one. I used to keep up with the books on Oprah?s Book Club, but that sort of faltered years ago. Anyway, a lot of women use the ?book club? thing to just get together and drink wine, don?t they? I wonder if Gisele is like that or if she really is interested in the books. Since she?s so perfect, something tells me that she?d rather read the books.

I was going to make a joke about Nicole Kidman?s lips being so insane these days that they cause men to simply fall over and hurt themselves, but on second thought? no. What happened yesterday at NYFW was not Nicole?s fault in the least. Nicole attended the Calvin Klein show yesterday, gamely posing for photos going in and coming out of the event. Then, once the show was over, she got into a car and headed back to her hotel.
So, as she was coming back, this paparazzo was so enchanted by Nicole that even though she had JUST POSED for photos outside of the Calvin Klein event, he had to get more photos of her entering her hotel, The Carlyle. So the paparazzo raced her to her hotel. He was on his bike and he was riding recklessly. So when Nicole got out of her car and began walking the few steps to the hotel entrance, the pap tried to pass Nicole, instead crashing into her. She was knocked to the ground, and he was too. She was just steps away from the hotel entrance, and Fame/Flynet says: ?Pictures capture the tense moments after the accident, where assistants lifted Kidman to her feet and helped her as she put her heels back on before she was quickly ushered inside. The embarrassed photog lay stunned on the ground as hotel staff tried to assess the awkward situation.?
I would have been so pissed off. Us Weekly says that Nicole was overheard saying ?Oh my God, ow, ow.? Witnesses say it didn?t seem like she was bleeding, but everyone expects her to press charges against the pap ? his name is Carl Wu. In Wu?s defense (eh), witnesses claim that it seemed like he was trying to brake for Nicole but the ?brakes on his bike completely gave out and he lost control.? Here?s what I don?t get though: what is the significance of getting more photos of Nicole entering her hotel when the paparazzi JUST got photos of her in the same outfit at the Calvin Klein show?
PS? Nicole has a new haircut. The bob is very cute on her. I like it.
