I have some terrible news for you guys. Kristin Cavallari, star of the 2009 classic Wild Cherry, is putting her acting career on hold. She says she’s turned down a couple projects that would have kept her in LA because her fiance Jay Cutler is in Chicago and the distance would have been too great. She laments toCoco Eco magazine, “The sacrifices we make for love…” Instead, she’s focusing on her shoe line with Chinese Laundry and her jewelry collection.
Her last acting appearance, which wasn’t as herself in a reality series, was a guest role in 2011 on the seriesThe Middle. Clearly, demand for Cavallari, one of our preeminent actors, is at an all time high right now but she has to do what’s right for her family. This must be so hard for her.

Making the most of their time in the City of Lights, Kim Kardashian and Kanye West treated themselves to some Paris-style retail therapy today (April 30).
The preggers E! reality television star and her hunky rapper beau hit up Givenchy, Ferragamo, Hermes, Celine, and Lanvin stores before dining at L?Avenue for lunch.
And rather than collect a ton of gifts for their soon-to-be-born, Kim and Kanye have asked well-wishers to put their money towards donations for the Lurie Children?s Hospital in Chicago.
A rep from the medical center told press, "Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago would like to extend its sincerest gratitude to Kim Kardashian and Kayne West for their thoughtfulness and support of the hospital.?
?We wish them all the best in the upcoming arrival of their baby. Funds donated on behalf of Kardashian and West will be directed to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit Fund which will help care for the most critically-ill babies and their families."

As we discussed yesterday, Kim Kardashian was having a ?miserable? time of it in Greece with her family. The Kardashian-Jenner clan traveled to Greece late last week for an all-expenses-paid (by E!) vacay in which Lamar Odom and Kanye West were not able to attend. And Kim was sad! Because it was humid and she?s super-preggo and all she wants to do is arrange photo-ops with Kanye. So in a rare moment of generosity towards his baby-mama, Kanye West came to Greece for a few hours and then he ordered a private plane for himself and Kim and they went to Paris.
Kim Kardashian is on a European adventure! After spending several days in Mykonos, Greece, with her family — and taping scenes for Keeping Up With the Kardashians, natch — the pregnant reality star received a visit from Kanye West on Monday, Apr. 29, Us Weekly can exclusively report.
The A-list couple “had a quick meal in Greece with her family,” a source reveals. Shortly after, the pair chartered a private plane to Paris, France, where the 35-year-old rapper is currently working on his next album. Kardashian’s famous family, meanwhile, stayed behind in Greece. (Stepbrother Brody Jenner and half-sister Kylie Jenner were seen doing flips off a yacht, while the rest of the family went jet skiing and horseback riding.)
After being whisked away by West, Kardashian tweeted that she had the “best day ever.” The following day, she subtly revealed her new location. “Bon jour!” she wrote. “Gym time.”
The twice-wed 32-year-old will welcome her first child in July. Though West has yet to propose, the mom-to-be does see herself walking down the aisle a third time. “I do think I would get married again,” Kardashian revealed during Ryan Seacrest With the Kardashians: An E! News Presentation, which aired Sunday, Apr. 21.
She added, “”That’s what I’ve always wanted. And just because you think you find it and you realize that’s not it, I think I was brave enough to realize that quickly and not waste time.”

Radar?s version of this story is that Kanye did NOT come to Greece, that he only sent a private plane to pick her up and she flew to Paris to meet him there. I don?t know which story is true, but my guess is that Us Weekly got the tip from ?someone? (Lucifer?s homegirl?) and they?re probably right. Anyway, you can breathe easier knowing the Kat-Face is now in Paris. And honestly, it wouldn?t surprise me at all if Kim did end up giving birth in Paris. That?s not what she wants, I bet, but she thinks it will make her more like Brangelina, and she really doesn?t want to leave Kanye?s side now. I think it?s sad that she?s the one changing around everything to be with him, and he barely does anything to make it easier on her.

Looking to give her coif an upgrade, Emily Blunt showed up at a beauty shop in West Hollywood yesterday afternoon (April 29).
The ?Adjustment Bureau? babe looked a bit preoccupied with her mobile phone as she stepped out of her Audi Q5 luxury SUV and headed inside while paparazzi looked on from the parking lot.
Emily stars along with Colin Firth in the new indie flick ?Arthur Newman,? and she told press that the quirky project was a refreshing change of pace for her.
"The script, in general terms, was just completely refreshing in how original it was ? and it was pretty uncompromising, actually. I liked the idea of the more we mask ourselves maybe the freer we are able to be within ourselves. I think everyone at some point has wanted to escape or run away, or take on a different identity. I don?t really particularly feel these characters are necessarily crazy. I think they are just acting on that impulse I think a lot of people have."

Brad Pitt covers the June issue of Vanity Fair. The cover shot is freaking me out a little bit. It?s not that Brad looks bad or anything, it just feels like they Photoshopped his eyes or something. He looks sort of like a zombie ? which might be on purpose, considering the cover story doesn?t seem to be a straight-forward celebrity profile, but rather a profile of how much it cost to make World War Z and how difficult it was for everyone involved. Brad has put a lot of his Hollywood power on the line, and I?m sure he?s lost professional friendships because of World War Z. Will it be worth it in the end? Will WWZ end up making money? Also: there are some concerns that Brad didn?t even sit down for a photoshoot with VF, that this is an outtake from a photoshoot he did with the New York Times two years ago. Well? at least it?s not a dead celebrity. Here?s the VF cover story excerpt:
?He took me through how excited he was when he read the book, what was exciting for him, the geopolitical aspect of it,? screenwriter Damon Lindelof tells Vanity Fair contributor Laura M. Holson in the June issue of Vanity Fair of meeting Brad Pitt to discuss the star?s troubled zombie project, World War Z.
Lindelof says Pitt explained, ??But when we started working on the script, a lot of that stuff had to fall away for the story to come together. We started shooting the thing before we locked down how it was going to end up, and it didn?t turn out the way we wanted it to.?? The actor asked him to watch an edit, and told him, ?The thing we really need right now is someone who is not burdened by all the history that this thing is inheriting, who can see what we?ve got and tell us how to get to where we need to get.? Lindelof tells Holson the ending was abrupt and incoherent, but more importantly they were missing a large chunk of footage.
In her revealing report, Holson also speaks to director Marc Forster and Paramount executives Marc Evans and Adam Goodman about the many problems that plagued the set?which included re-writing and reshooting 40 minutes of the film to find a coherent ending?and, most astonishingly, how the budget ballooned to around $200 million.

Carey Mulligan covers the June issue of Harper?s Bazaar UK, and these are the newsstand cover and subscriber?s cover. I think I?m alone in hating both covers. And I?m saying that as someone who likes/admires Carey, and I have high hopes that she?s going to be a brilliant Daisy Buchanan. But instead of styling her like Gatsby?s Daisy (which is what Vogue did for the May issue), they did this cotton-candy hair, Grey Gardens look. She looks like a little old lady. Or a ghost!!
The Great Gatsby is almost upon us. The big American premiere will be this Wednesday, and then it?s on to Cannes, where I imagine it will be well-received. From what I remember, Cannes LOVED Moulin Rouge, and this seems to be in the same vein. And you know what I keep thinking about? How Blake Lively auditioned for the role of Daisy Buchanan. OMG. I cannot even believe that Blake got through the door on that one. But would you like to know how Carey got the part? She totally snogged Leonardo DiCaprio in the audition!! ?Atta girl.
Carey Mulligan bagged a role in Baz Luhrmann?s ?The Great Gatsby? by giving Leonardo DiCaprio a surprise kiss during her audition.
The Australian filmmaker recruited leading man DiCaprio to help pick an actress to play Jay Gatsby?s love interest Daisy Buchanan in the upcoming big-screen adaptation of the classic novel, and it was Mulligan?s brave smooch that really impressed DiCaprio.
Luhrmann tells The Hollywood Reporter, ?Leonardo was at every audition. He worked with me ? it was work. He is not an acting snob but I guess if he was a chef, he can really tell what is fine cuisine. So Carey came in. I?d swapped scenes (to read during the audition) and forgot and (the script said) she kisses him. (Mulligan) grabbed me? and she said, ?Should I? Should I kiss him?? I went, ?Yeah, but don?t tell him!?
?So she does the scene, absolutely fantastic, and grabs him and kisses him. She went out the door and I was just thinking, ?My God, that is Daisy Buchanan.?
?I thought, ?I wonder what Di (DiCaprio) thinks?. He said, ?The way Carey manifests Daisy is like something Gatsby would never have met in his life, something so delicate that he would want to protect to her to an obsessive and almost impossible level.? And then it was done. It was done.?

Yeah. So that?s how she got the part. She inhabited Daisy. And I honestly think she?s probably a smarter choice for the role than, say, Mia Farrow. I know that?s slander around here, but Mia Farrow sucked as Daisy in the 1970s version. Robert Redford? SURE. He can inhabit Gatsby any day of the week. But Carey will be a fine Daisy.

Here are some photos of Denise Richards at the Radio Disney music awards on Saturday evening with daughter Sam and a little friend. Those kids look positively adorable, but Denise has reclaimed her addiction to tanning lotion like Russell Brand hitting the shagging scene again after he divorced Katy Perry. I don’t know if there’s a 12-step program for tanning, but something needs to be done about this orangey stuff. I know there’s a certain ingredient in some self-tanners that reacts with people’s skin in different ways, but you’d think Denise would be savvy enough to sniff out the better brands that actually bronze skin and looks more natural than an orange tint. Oh well.
Denise is still looking pretty thin in these photos. Back in February, we covered a Star story that labelled her “scary skinny” based upon a certain set of photos that revealed slightly gristly (in a Madonna sense) arms. A lot of you disagreed with my assessment that Denise looked fit and mostly healthy even though I suggested that stress (raising three daughters as a single mother and functioning despite being an ex of Charlie Sheen) could also be a factor in her shrinking figure. For certain, she has a very low percentage of body fat although I’m not sure whether Denise is naturally thin or is actually starving or over-exercising herself to get there. She did used to be curvier during her fleeting Bond girl days, so I don’t know what’s going on with her. For her part, Denise is really tired of all of the judgmental attitudes concerning her body. Here are her words from the red carpet:
Denise Richards isn’t wasting away, despite rumors to the contrary. In recent weeks, the Twisted actress has been criticized for supposedly looking “painfully thin” and “extra skinny” by several media outlets, including The Sun, Radar Online, The Daily Mail and E! News. The 42-year-old mother of three defended her athletic build during the Radio Disney Music Awards in L.A. Apr. 27.
“I don’t know why lately I’ve been getting so much flack for it,” Richards told Extra. “I have a very healthy lifestyle and I’m busy.”
The Pilates devotee added, “What bothers me is I have three daughters [Sam, 9, Lola, 7, and Eloise, 22 months]. I’m such an advocate for health and fitness. . . In moderation, we eat ice cream all the time. I had grilled cheese before we got here!”
In fact, at Carbon Audio’s launch party for Zooka in West Hollywood on Aug. 3, 2012, Richards told Us Weekly her girls are healthy eaters by choice. “They actually like to cut up fresh vegetables with ranch dressing on the side. That’s their favorite!” she shared. “They love helping. They like making salads because they like chopping things up and rinsing the lettuce. Nothing too fancy!”

Like I said, Denise is under a fair amount of pressure with her largely solo childrearing responsibilities. She often undertakes care of Charlie’s twin boys that he spawned with then-wife Brooke Mueller in addition to caring for her three daughters, so Denise has got a full plate, so to speak. Perhaps she really burns a ton of calories while running around after all those kids, or maybe she’s just not eating enough. Who knows. I still don’t think she’s too thin, but prove me wrong, people.

There?s one thing that I don?t flat-out hate about Chelsea Handler (generous of me, I know): I don?t hate her when she?s talking honestly about how she doesn?t want children, or how being a wife and mother was never her goal. In that one instance, I find her refreshingly honest. Maybe it?s because it?s one of the few times I relate to her and agree with her. Chelsea did an interview with Amanda de Cadenet (I have yet to see an episode of The Conversation) and the conversation turned to babies and? again, I give Chelsea credit for not spouting the standard ?Oh, I want babies, soon!? crap. Chelsea?s not into babies.
Chelsea Handler has said it before, and now she’s saying it again: “I definitely don’t want to have kids.” The 38-year-old Chelsea Lately host explained her decision to not have children during the Apr. 27 episode of The Conversation With Amanda de Cadenet.
“I don’t think I’d be a great mother,” the New Jersey native said. “I don’t want to have a kid and have it raised by a nanny. I don’t have the time to raise a child. Childhood was heartbreaking enough for anybody. I don’t know that I could handle my own child, especially if I had a girl, going through what I went through growing up. Not that it was so traumatic, but in many ways, it was in your own way.”
Handler, the youngest of five children, also opened up about her long-distance relationship with wealthy hotelier Andre Balazs, her on-and-off love since the spring of 2011. “My boyfriend is as busy as I am, so we both make time. I think if you want to be in a relationship with someone, you both make it happen, and we do,” the My Horizontal Life: A Collection of One-Night Stands author said of the divorced father of two, 56. “We’re fortunate enough to be able to have the wherewithal and the resources to kind of meet each other all over the place.”
The comedienne, whose exes include rapper 50 cent and animal trainer Dave Salmoni, said she actually prefers having a bicoastal relationship. (Handler resides primarily in L.A., while Balazs lives in New York City.)
“It’s always fun. It’s always exciting,” Handler revealed. “He’s very romantic. He’s very good for me and I’m very good for him. He’s pretentious and I’m not, so I take him down a notch and he brings me up a notch.”
Though the pair have broken up twice, they’ve since learned how to better understand each other’s needs. “We had some troubles in the beginning because we were both fighting who the other person was. Everything you like about somebody you end up detesting about them. . . Finally, we both calmed down and then we were able to come together in a much different way,” Handler said. “But I’m grateful to be in an adult relationship because I always figured, ‘Oh, I’ll just have sex with a bunch of guys and have my career.’”

I still don?t understand the Andre Balazs thing. Maybe I never will. I mean, I understand what she sees in him ? he?s rich, he?s powerful, he?s incredibly well-connected and he provides her with so much legitimacy as a celebrity or whatever.
