Teaming up for a full day of filming, Blake Lively and Leighton Meester were side-by-side on the set of "Gossip Girl" in New York City on Wednesday afternoon (August 10).
The CW hotties were both in jovial moods as they laughed with one another while also joined by fellow castmate Ed Westwick for the Big Apple shoot.
The day's work comes as Blake, Leighton and Ed are busily compiling material for the show's much-awaited fifth season - which premieres on September 26th at 8/7c.
Finding much success, the teen drama cleaned up at the 2011 Teen Choice Awards this past weekend - garnering wins in categories including Choice TV Show, Choice TV Actor Drama, and an award for Miss Lively as Choice TV Actress Drama.

Apparently, LeAnn is a fan of Mikoh Swimwear - Yeeeah says she?s been tweeting about the brand for months, and every bikini LeAnn wears is apparently Mikoh. So Mikoh did an ?interview? and ?photo shoot? with LeAnn for their website. Because if there?s one thing I know about women, it?s that they?ll buy something as soon as they see a bony, emaciated, delusional, famewhore narcissist wearing one.

Mikoh Swimwear is apparently one of LeAnn Rimes’ favorite bikini brand. She’s been name-dropping them on Twitter all summer, no doubt to score a sponsorship or free swimwear and, hey, it worked.
Mikoh decided to cash in on the free press and do a photo shoot with Rimes wearing their bikinis. They even conducted a short, inane interview.

Jennifer Garner is in a new movie called The Odd Life of Timothy Green, which is not out until August, 2012. I will admit to being momentarily touched by this incredibly cheesy trailer for what is undoubtedly an incredibly cheesy movie. You know that glurge category on Snopes, where they debunk stories often involving little children dying somehow, but first touching another person’s life in a way that will never be forgotten? (I should label that SPOILER, because I can imagine this poor kid character dying at the end of this movie in a “he’s too good for this world” twist. Or maybe he’s from a parallel universe and needs to be sent back to it or something.) The glurge category is surely where this film belongs, but people like to switch off their brains sometimes and be force fed cliche plots, so this could be moderately successful.
Anyway Jennifer Garner and her handsome co-star that I’m only being introduced to today, Joel Edgerton, star in this Disney film about a childless couple who wishes a ten year-old boy into existence. (USA Today has him as ten years old, but he looks younger to me.) The boy comes into their lives full of wonder and hope, and transforms them, the whole neighborhood and all their friends and family probably. They did a brief interview to promote this film, which again is not out until next year so I’m not really getting it.
When The Odd Life of Timothy Green opens in August 2012, audiences will meet Cindy and Jim Green (Jennifer Garner and Joel Edgerton), a couple who have reached a point of despair: They can’t conceive. During a wine-fueled night, the Greens dream up their ideal offspring. He would score a winning goal, just once. He’d be honest to a fault. “Picasso with a pencil,” Cindy wishes.
Soon, a 10-year-old arrives at their doorstep, claiming the Greens as his own.
“He’s a boy with the qualities that his parents hope for,” says director Peter Hedges (Dan in Real Life), but “those qualities manifest in ways they never could have imagined.”
Disney is keeping the boy’s origin under wraps, but the Greens “get nothing more, nothing less” than what they wished for, Garner reveals. “He doesn’t have any emotional memories. He’s completely nave to the way the world works ? someone who’s honest to a fault is called honest to a fault for a reason.”
Garner understands her character’s yearning. “There’s no deeper want for a woman” than to be a mother, says the Hollywood mom, whose two young daughters visited the Georgia set daily in late winter with husband Ben Affleck.
In the film, the Greens must quickly adjust to parenting. It was Hedges’ experience with two teen sons that inspired him to adapt the story by producer Ahmet Zappa for the screen. “I wanted to make a film about what it means to be a parent in the 21st century,” he says.
Timothy Green puts the title role spotlight on young actor CJ Adams, whom Hedges cast in 2007’s Dan in Real Life. And Edgerton is set to have a blockbuster 2012: He soon enters F. Scott Fitzgerald territory as Tom Buchanan in Baz Luhrmann’s The Great Gatsby. Next year, “Joel Edgerton is an actor who everyone is going to be talking about,” Hedges says.
But in the world of Timothy Green, a year’s time is all too precious. The new family is “acutely aware of the passing of time,” Hedges says ominously. “We all only get our children for a very short period of time.”

The kid goes back to where he came from probably. That’s pretty much what they’re suggesting, and it seems predictable. I like how they make the kid seem kind of Jesus-y yet kid-like at the same time. I have a seven year-old and he’s also amazing, as are most kids. He just wants to know about everything and he’s starting to make his way in this world, but he’s still very much a kid and very sweet.
I do take some offense at Garner saying that “there’s no deeper want for a woman” than being a mother. That may be true for her, but for so many other women who choose not to have children that’s not the case at all. It’s very difficult to raise kids and props to women who realize it’s not for them. They want other things out of life and I’ll be honest, sometimes I do too. I mean I would never change the fact that I’m a mom, but I know that I’m not ready to have another one. I just want to focus on my one kid and be able to continue my illustrious career gossiping. Other women decide not to be moms. They have other wants that take precedence. That doesn’t mean that the urge for motherhood is somehow deeper than the urge to follow another dream. That comment bugs me. Doesn’t Garner have any childless friends?

While a rep for Lohan said, “We do not comment on her personal life,” she also relaxed with other friends at a Grey Goose after-party at The Underground until early Sunday morning. Sources said that despite the difficulty distinguishing drinks in the dark, she stuck to water. A Coldplay rep didn’t get back to us.

And now we know why. A music source tells us Lohan is actually dating one of Coldplay?s band members, Guy Berryman.? So, Linnocent planted this story to Gossip Cop first, and then she pushed it into Page Six.
As for Guy Berryman? I don?t know. I know some of you girls like him and everything, and apparently he just got divorced. But if he?s even allowing this rumor to exist, out there in the world, is he really worth it? Dude, he totally has Linnocent?s Revenge. And it hasn?t scabbed over yet.

Ever Imre looks like his dad, right? His little face is already full of character. Alanis gave birth in late December last year, which makes Ever a little more than seven months old. Speaking of Alanis giving birth, she took part in Ricki Lake?s new online documentary series, The Business of Being Born. Ricki claims that Alanis agreed to be taped before and after she gave birth. Because her biological clock is going off like the bells at Notre Dame, Jennifer Aniston is intent on fast tracking the progression from marriage to babies with Justin Theroux. Justin is reportedly on board the baby train.
“They have talked at length about getting married and starting a family,” an insider close to the pair tells the new Us Weekly, out Wednesday. “She is anxious for the next phase of her life and feels like this is the time.”
To prepare her body, Aniston has hired a private chef, been doing 45 minutes of yoga daily and “detoxifying.” Soon enough she’ll be as fertile as OctoMom’s in vitro tubes. Pals of Jen say she “hasn’t felt this way about anyone since Brad.” Which goes to show. There’s never going to be one interview about Jen’s future that won’t mention Brad Pitt. I can see the Us Weekly article now. “Haha, remember that time when Brad Pitt left you for the world’s most beautiful woman and became Hollywood’s most talked about couple? Ya… good times. But does Kim have time for one last single-girl hurrah, in the form of an old-and-not-forgotten lover? According to Life & Style and Page Six, Kim?s ex (and her ?one great love? IMO) Reggie Bush is regretting their breakup even more now that he sees that she?s moved on with Kris. Reggie has allegedly been calling her and begging her not to go through with the wedding:

A source told Life & Style, “He was begging her to call off the wedding — and give him another chance.”
But a friend said, “She was burned by the end of their relationship, and she’s truly moved on.”

I?m feeling generous this morning, so I?ll say that I think this is possible. I used to think that Reggie dumped Kim and never looked back, but he?s done some stuff that makes me think he?s still hung up on Kim. Like, he?s dating a chick who looks a hell of a lot like Kim. Also, shortly after Reggie and Kim broke up, Reggie called Kim and let out his jealous bitch, which Kim aired on her show - it was a whole new side of Reggie, and I do tend to think he?s probably still in contact with Kim. That being said, if Kim actually did leave Kris at the altar and call off her wedding, Reggie would probably be scared off, right? Reggie?s just playing a head-game.
Now, I doubt Kim would call off her wedding for any reason, but that?s not a testament to the love that she and Kris have. Kim just wants to get married, and she wants attention, and Kris is fine with it. She and Kris aren?t even going to have a honeymoon - because right after the wedding, Kim and her Kourtney are traveling to NYC. Ah, newlyweds. Because Jennifer Aniston is never complete in Tabloidland unless she?s worrying about the state of her womb. Sigh… I miss drunk Aniston, the woman whose only priority was finding the next bottle of tequila. Well, that drunk bitch got a boyfriend, and now she?s gonna pop out one of dem babies. Allegedly.
Just go with this: Jennifer Aniston and her beau of four months Justin Theroux are on the fast track to walk down the aisle…and procreate! As Aniston, 42, and Theroux (who turns 40 on Wednesday) kick back on an extended getaway in a $7,000-a-day cliffside compound in Kauai, Hawaii, the hot twosome have more on their minds then coconuts, cocktails and outdoor yoga.

God, I just don?t even know what to say without hysterical womb-defenders screaming obscenities at me about how every move and word Jennifer Aniston makes is good and pure. Personally, I?ve never bought the idea that Jennifer gives a crap about babies (because her actions speak louder than her words), so that?s why I don?t believe this story. But! I will happily eat my words if and when Aniston pops one out, and I continue to think that Jennifer has hooked a live one, and Justin is up for whatever relationship conversation Jennifer wants to have (from behind). Will they get married and have a baby and everything will just be perfect? I hope so. I wish them well. They?re both getting what they paid for.

A smiling Sandra Bullock is shown on the cover of the upcoming issue of People with the title “How Sandra Got Her Groove Back.” I was really hoping it involved a strapping young guy (who wasn’t a bisexual con artist like Terry McMillan’s husband) but the profile seems to be more about Sandra’s work life and her life with her adopted son, Louis. We’ve seen a few staged photo ops with Sandra and Louis over the past couple of weeks, and this seems to be more PR from her camp to distract us from what a total ass her ex husband continues to be in the press. She only has one film coming out in limited release this year, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close, which isn’t out until December. So I think it’s safe to assume that her people want to continue the good will for Sandra and remind us that she’s around. She hasn’t had a film out since 2009’s Blind Side so this isn’t a bad strategy. It seems kind of transparent, though, and judging from the excerpt on People’s website they don’t even have an actual interview with her and are relying on quotes from people who work with her.

Bullock, who also just wrapped the astronaut drama Gravity, has been keeping a low profile as she passes emotional milestones: the one-year mark of her divorce from Jesse James, and this month’s anniversary of her official adoption of Louis.
As she steps back into the spotlight, her new life is a joyful one. “She’s glowing,” says her Extremely Loud costar Reagan Leonard.

Yeah I get that Bullock needs to play this game to keep the projects rolling in and keep the public apprised of her status, but it seems so lame. We love her because she’s genuine, because she’s human, because she weathered one of the worst, most public, most humiliating scandals by keeping her head up and emerging with an adorable baby and words so generous they made her ex look like the lowest form of dirt for ever wronging her. We don’t want to have Bullock thrust at us, we want to admire her tenacity as she gets on with her life, and we want to come to our own conclusions about it.

Last week, Warner Bros. released the first photo of Anne Hathaway in character as Selina Kyle/Catwoman. The reaction was mixed, with some nerds becoming openly upset (there was a big deal about how there were no cat-ears on the costume), and others basically yawning. Well, Anne has reacted to the reactions, and she?s trying to put up a brave front and show some sass, which makes me feel bad for her. The costume isn?t her call - this is what she was given. And now she?s the only one defending it to MTV - funny considering that MTV didn?t care for the costume either:
When we caught up with Hathaway as she promoted the upcoming movie “One Day,” we didn’t expect her to offer any commentary about the photo ? but she surprised us.
“I was not going to admit it: I asked someone to send me a few reactions [to the photo],” she said. “And I happen to know that MTV’s reaction was ‘meh.??
Now, we’re not sure about the “meh” quote, but we will admit to using the phrases “cautiously optimistic,” “unflattering” and “underwhelming” in our analysis.
Regardless, Hathaway said that no matter the first impressions, there is a lot more happening with that suit.
“What I am happy to say is, if you didn’t like the photo, you only see about a 10th of what that suit can do,” she promised. “And if you did like the photo, you have excellent taste.”

Poor Anne. In another interview (to promote One Day), Anne said that all of the paparazzi photos from the Pittsburgh set are causing problems for the filming: “It?s disappointing. I think everyone feels a slight frustration with it because those stills so undercut the work that?s being done. I mean, honestly, like, wait till you see this movie. Chris [Nolan] is doing insane things in it. And it?s gonna be marvelous and it?s gonna be way beyond what anyone imagines that it could be. You can?t imagine the things that he?s doing, at least I couldn?t until I read the script and I was like, ?You?re really? Okay, you?re going there!?? Okay, Anne. We get it! We should just wait for the movie. In which Selina Kyle is a stripper.
Or should we? To cap off a series of ?OMG, this film is not going to be as good as The Dark Knight? disasters, Anne?s stuntwoman crashed into an IMAX camera while driving the Batcycle down some stairs. You know her ass got fired too.

Bidding farewell to the Big Apple after a whirlwind promotional tour, Katie Holmes was spotted boarding a private helicopter alongside husband Tom Cruise and daughter Suri late last evening (August 9).
Seen leaving their New York City pad dressed in sunglasses, t-shirts and jeans, mom and dad did their best to protect dress-wearing Suri from the nearby photogs while having her hold onto a Disney umbrella to keep her face out of view.
The after-dark departure follows Katie's visit to "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon," in which she stopped by NBC Studios to give press to her new horror flick "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark."
During her time on set, Homles got interactive with the crowd as well as the funnyman host as she joined in on a game of Pictionary.
While both Fallon and the "Dawson's Creek" star were teamed up with suitable audience member teammates, it was eventually Fallon who came up on top with his game-winning sketch of an iPad.

Looking to add his star power to the highly-anticipated action flick, Bruce Willis is reportedly in talks to play the original G.I. Joe in the 2012 summer sequel "G.I. Joe: Retaliation."
If he does sign on, the "Sixth Sense" actor would front the role of General Joe Colton, the character who, in the 1980s comics, is solely responsible for staring the G.I. Joe strike team called the ultimate freedom force.
The sci-fi/adventure currently packs a powerful cast, including Channing Tatum, Dwayne Johnson, and Andrianne Palicki.
Set to start production later this month, the Jon M. Chu directed film is scheduled to hit theaters June 29, 2012.

There's no rest for the weary, and Kim Kardashian certainly fits in that catergory - as the brunette beauty was spotted touching down in New York City on Wednesday morning (August 10) following a redeye flight from Los Angeles.
The E! reality star was all smiles as she trekked through JFK Airport, making the cross-country trip for business purposes.
Tweeting about the trip, Kim wrote, "I haven't been this sleepy in a loooong time. Off to NYC for 4 hrs to a quick meeting then back to LA!"
She later tweeted, "Do u brush your teeth before u take the red eye flight? I always do in the bathroom. Otherwise its like falling alseep w-out brushing! Yuck"
On a sidenote, the soon-to-be married TV personality gave a shoutout to little sister Kylie Jenner, as she wrote, "Happy Birthday @KylieJenner!!!! I love you sooo much!!!"

Kim Kardashian is due to marry Kris Humphries next week. Prepare yourselves, it?s going to be a Kardashian extravaganza. But does Kim have time for one last single-girl hurrah, in the form of an old-and-not-forgotten lover? According to Life & Style and Page Six, Kim?s ex (and her ?one great love? IMO) Reggie Bush is regretting their breakup even more now that he sees that she?s moved on with Kris. Reggie has allegedly been calling her and begging her not to go through with the wedding:

A source told Life & Style, “He was begging her to call off the wedding — and give him another chance.”
But a friend said, “She was burned by the end of their relationship, and she’s truly moved on.”

I?m feeling generous this morning, so I?ll say that I think this is possible. I used to think that Reggie dumped Kim and never looked back, but he?s done some stuff that makes me think he?s still hung up on Kim. Like, he?s dating a chick who looks a hell of a lot like Kim. Also, shortly after Reggie and Kim broke up, Reggie called Kim and let out his jealous bitch, which Kim aired on her show - it was a whole new side of Reggie, and I do tend to think he?s probably still in contact with Kim. That being said, if Kim actually did leave Kris at the altar and call off her wedding, Reggie would probably be scared off, right? Reggie?s just playing a head-game.
Now, I doubt Kim would call off her wedding for any reason, but that?s not a testament to the love that she and Kris have. Kim just wants to get married, and she wants attention, and Kris is fine with it. She and Kris aren?t even going to have a honeymoon - because right after the wedding, Kim and her Kourtney are traveling to NYC. Ah, newlyweds. Kelso is cashing in on Charlie Sheen’s crazy. According to TV Guide, Ashton Kutcher is currently the highest paid sitcom actor at $700,000 an episode. He makes double what Laurence Fishburne did, $350,000 an episode, for his stint on CSI. Kutcher’s salary is still less than Charlie Sheen was pulling, $1.2 million an episode, but it certainly remains substantial. Leads on series usually make less than $150,000. It of course remains to be seen how well Two and Half Men will perform with Ashton at the helm, but he’s cheaper than Charlie at least.
Meanwhile Details has a glowing cover story on Ashton in which they portray him as some kind of tech guru. He seems overrated to me, and I still remember his failed attempt at entering the Internet gossip sphere, his short-lived series in which he tried to punk the celebrity press, and the fact that he hired a PR company that regularly spammed blogs with ads for it. He’s just an actor on Twitter and Facebook, but I have to give him some credit for being interested in technology and following it closely. Ashton also addresses the Twitter flame war he got in with the Village Voice when they called him out for using false numbers to discuss human trafficking. He handles it better than he did before, I’ll say that.
Details: The Village Voice just called you out for citing spurious statistics in your advocacy against child prostitution. You fired back on Twitter that their online adult classifieds constituted “a digital brothel,” then encouraged Disney, Domino’s, and American Airlines to pull their advertising. Is that what you’re talking about?
Ashton Kutcher: I think that was irresponsible journalism on their part, but I don’t want to speak about the company.
Details: Okay. Generally speaking, what is it about platforms like Twitter that allows individuals to take on institutions?
Ashton Kutcher: You can’t just say shit anymore, because people have the ability to speak up. At the same time, with the Village Voice thing, I definitely have to take responsibility for misrepresenting the data. It’s forcing transparency both ways.
Details: The line between online life and real life is getting blurrier. Is that a good thing?
Ashton Kutcher: I wouldn’t bifurcate the two. I wouldn’t say you have an online life and a real life. I think technology is just mapping and organizing what already exists. If you’re an asshole offline, you’re probably an asshole online.
Details: As a celebrity, you’re used to managing the boundary between your public and private selves. Is that something we all have to do now?
Ashton Kutcher: You have to learn to negotiate it, or you can choose not to participate. It’s almost like a manifestation of God. People used to behave morally because they thought God was always watching?in some ways God today is the collective, and the collective is watching.
Details: Sounds kind of creepy. Do you think privacy is overrated?
Ashton Kutcher: I think privacy is valuable. You don’t have to share everything, and it’s healthy to occasionally hit the pause button and ask yourself if you’re oversharing. But at the end of the day, if you’re not doing anything wrong you don’t have anything to hide.
Details: What do you think is coming that will blow our minds five or ten years from now?
Ashton Kutcher: I think the big next wave will be wearable technologies. Your phone will be your true PC, and these technologies will act as your mouse and keyboard. You’ll have a high-fashion bracelet that will perform functions for you?it’ll track your health, your movement, your sleep, your activity?and by wearing a couple of rings, you’ll be able to type in the air or take pictures with your fingers. There’ll be a device that will track your eye movement, whether it’s an earpiece with a camera or a necklace that can project and record. That Tom Cruise movie, Minority Report, got a lot of it right from what I’ve seen.
Details: What about old media? You’re returning to television soon, taking over for Charlie Sheen on Two and a Half Men. Who’s your character going to be?
Ashton Kutcher: It’s somewhere between an alien and Jesus Christ, but I can’t be more specific than that.
Details: Have you talked with Charlie about filling his old job?
Ashton Kutcher: I don’t know him. I’ve never met him in my life. But, you know, he sent me congratulations and wished me well. Via Twitter.

I think Ashton is off about wearable technology. His description of rings that allow you to type in the air sounds ridiculous, like it might be technically possible but I doubt that people will want to type in the air using some kind of ring. I agree that computers and smart phones will get smaller and more portable. In terms of the Minority Report comparison, remember those little spider camera things in that movie? We’re getting close to that with drone technology now, which is basically just sticking a smart phone on to a remote controlled devices.
That was really weird the way he claimed God was “the collective.” Ashton is a member of the Kabbalah cult, which is a paid-for distorted version of the Jewish mystic religion. That could be where he got that concept of God as everything and everyone. Is he saying that his moral behavior is partially due to the fact that he can so easily get busted as a celebrity? I’m probably giving him too much credit.
Ashton still seems dim to me and in no way worth $700k an episode, but it’s not like Charlie Sheen deserved over a million an episode either.
Oh in terms of that Details cover it looks ’shopped into oblivion to me. There are no lines whatsoever on Ashton’s face. Kaiser thinks he looks hot without the beard though.

Last night was the LA premiere of The Help, which I don?t really want to see. I like Emma Stone, of course, and Viola Davis walks on water, but I?m still rather meh on the premise. Sure, I think it?s great that Hollywood made a film with a diverse, largely female cast. But I have lived in the South for most of my life, and Hollywood tends to patronize Southerners and Southern history. Anyway, back to the photos. Emma is the lead in the film, but judging from her red carpet appearance, she looks kind of pissed off about something. The dress is Chanel! It?s pretty, and I kind of like it, but Emma doesn?t look comfortable in it, which is a bad sign. I do like that Emma is usually pretty covered on red carpets - it?s refreshing for someone her age.
Allison Janney! God, I love her too. She?s wearing Dolce & Gabbana. The dress is kind of meh and I absolutely HATE Janney?s hair. But I still love her.
Octavia Spencer, designer unknown. That?s a beautiful color on her!
Bryce Dallas Howard continues her reign of unflattering maternity clothes in Kate Spade NY.
Jessica Chastain in Oscar de la Renta that I feel sure that she?s recycled from a previous red carpet. I really think I?ve seen her in this dress before. Eh.
Sissy Spacek and her daughter Schuyler Fisk. I love how mother and daughter look so much alike. I love that Sissy isn?t messing with her face, but I wish she would mess with her hair. She would look so cute with a shorter haircut!
Viola Davis in Escada? love the dress, love the color, love the flattering cut, love the age-appropriate-ness. Dislike the hair, though. It looks like a wig!

Ryan Gosling graces the cover of the September issue of Esquire. In the accompanying interview, he takes journalist Tom Chiarella on a road trip to Coney Island, tells him ghost stories and enthuses about his love of candy. Chiarella is the same author who was dismissive and judgmental in profiles of Brooklyn Decker and Matthew McConaughey. Esquire has a history of writing critical pieces on celebrities, with other journalists portraying Christian Bale and Bradley Cooper negatively when their actions and words didn’t seem to warrant it. (We should talk, right?)
In this Gosling story, Chiarella is more generous to his subject and Gosling comes across as a genuinely nice guy, if a bit eccentric. Gosling is recognized constantly during their outing and he’s game for taking pictures with fans. Not one person knows his actual name though, just that he’s a movie star and looks familiar. Even when people call him Paul Bettany or Ryan Reynolds, Gosling just rolls with it and grants signatures and photos. Here are some highlights from the article, which is worth reading just to imagine walking around and shooting the sh*t with Gosling. He sounds exhausting, but I would love to eat some candy with him.
Gosling loves candy
Five stops at bodegas, and one at this 7-Eleven, and in each case Ryan Gosling sniffs out the florid Japanese gelatin as if he lived on the block, as if he shopped there every damned day. Its very presence seems to comfort him. “This is the stuff,” he says, in aisle two of four. Then he piles them on the countertop. Kazoozles atop Nerds Ropes, twin packs of Hi-Chews, green apple and grape. He also feels strongly about Haribos, especially the multiflavored bag. “I like to call this the next level of candy,” he says, with a thready graveness in his voice, either mocking seriousness or giving, in fact, a serious mocking. Over and over again, he uses his eyes to say: Are you with me? More enthusiasm, even as he goes on. “Hi-Chews! Look at these! It’s the candy that never quits on you. This candy is always worth the price. There used to be a candy called Bonkers, which I believe to be the greatest candy of all time.” He pours coffee for both of us, with as much sugar as he can get in, and turns to the register before he continues. A girl stands at one end of the aisle, holding her phone up for a photo of him unaware. “For some reason, they discontinued Bonkers. These are good, you’ll see,” he says, holding up the Hi-Chews. Then he hands me my coffee and says with a smile, “Sugar till you die.”
Everyone recognizes Gosling, but no one knows his name
The girl moves the camera from in front of her face. “Can I take a picture of you?” she asks.
Gosling finishes his thought: “But that fact alone doesn’t really justify the end of Bonkers.” Then he turns back to the girl, who gropes for his name and hands me her camera. Gosling stands with his arm around her. “I know your name,” she says, tilting her head in defeat. “I really do.”
Gosling turns back to me. “Sometimes I think that the one thing I love most about being an adult is the right to buy candy whenever and wherever I want,” he says. Then he asks the girl, “Which way to Coney Island?”
Her hand drops to her side, and she smiles and says, “Oh, I know! You’re Paul Bettany.”…
At Coney ? and that’s what they call it, the kids who work there, sixteen-, seventeen-, eighteen-year-old black kids in matching polo shirts and cheap baseball hats, working their summers, leaning into long nights in sight of the ocean, nagging out time until school starts again ? just plain Coney, as in “You! What you doing at Coney? You. I know you. Who are you? Let me think. Damn. Tariq, who is he? I know you, right? You a movie star, right? I just can’t. What movie you in? Damn. What is your name? Why you at Coney all the sudden?”
Through all this, Gosling smiles and nods. He’s got some bits, some automatic responses: I just have one of those faces, or People say that all the time. But he never says his name, never gives it away. Not that he’s being difficult. He seems to enjoy passing through this world as a vaguer representation of himself. But he’s not diffident or deceptive. He signs autographs freely, doles out hugs, poses for more phone photos in one visit to the amusement park than most people do in a year. He’s affable about being recognized but not named. He really does have one of those faces. “It’s like being in a dream. You don’t know anybody, but everybody knows you, everybody reacts to you. You can be walking along in a dream, through a pretty normal world, and then bam, everything seems to be a response to your presence. Everything seems to be driven by you. And that’s notable at first, and you deal with it. And then ? and it happens every time ? you become aware it’s a dream. Right about then, when you think you have it figured, and that acknowledging that will make it easier, it inevitably becomes a nightmare.”
This thing, this event at Coney, is nowhere near that stage. These kids are giving him plenty of room, killing time chatting it up with the movie star they can’t name. Mention of Blue Valentine does them no good. Half Nelson? The Believer? None of that works. The best hint involves one little finger tap on the spiral ring of a sketchpad, to a kid begging for a hint. “Notebook? What’s that mean? Notebook. What’s … notebook! Notebook! I know him. He’s from The Notebook!”
Everyone knows The Notebook. Every teenager on the midway has seen it, a movie that is half as old now as they are, a gauzy fable about the fated love of two white people in North Carolina sixty-five years ago. They all tell him, too: “That’s a good movie.”
Tariq comes over from his position at the Whac-A-Mole stand, takes a long look at Gosling, and says, “That’s Ryan Reynolds.”…
“I think I was always bound to become two selves, if I wasn’t already,” he says. “Now there’s this me, this public me, and I know that I have become two people. This is what I told the photographer before he took those photographs. Even my own name sounds like just someone I know.”

We can’t really feature the photos from the interview, as they involve a nude model painted over to look like a skeleton. Ryan is seen clutching her while another Ryan looks on. The article notes that Ryan collaborated on the photos, which seem to be some kind of commentary on his relationship with fame, as if it’s a fickle mistress and he feels like an observer of his own, scary life. He also has skeletons all over his apartment, he tells the interviewer, so he seems to be fascinated by them.
It’s hard to believe that Gosling pops candy like that when he remains so buff, but it’s better than drinking I guess. He’s an interesting guy, and it won’t be long before everyone everywhere knows his name. Will that be more of a nightmare for him?

She's one of the hottest young talents in Hollywood, and Emma Stone stepped out to promote her much-awaited new book based movie "The Help" in Los Angeles on Tuesday night (August 9).
The 22-year-old actress charmed her way along the red carpet at The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences' Samuel Goldwyn Theater while joined by co-stars Bryce Dallas Howard and Jessica Chastain.
With its release date set for Wednesday, August 10th, "The Help" is an adaptation of the bestselling novel focused on race relations and civil rights in the south during the 1960s.
Talking about her role as a young college graduate who befriends a group of African American maids, Miss Stone recently told the Los Angeles Times, "I'm from Arizona ? there was no in-depth conversation in my life about the civil rights movement. Now I feel more open to those kinds of discussions. Friends I have will say closed-minded stuff about things having to do with race that they haven't really examined. And I'm like, 'Maybe I would have thought that way before I actually knew the history.' It really changes your perspective."
Also impacting her career as a whole, Emma explained, "It made me feel like I don't need to be afraid anymore ? afraid of relying on a joke. My whole life, that's been the way I relate to people. 'Oh, let's hope I can make them laugh at some point, otherwise ? I don't know.' I was always the ham. There's been an element of playing to my strengths. Getting her lightened locks touched up, Ashley Tisdale paid a visit to the Byron & Tracey Salon in Beverly Hills on Tuesday afternoon (August 9).
Carrying a cream Chanel Bag and accessory tote in her arms, the "Aliens In the Attic" actress stuck with her blonde look for the summer as her freshly styled coif blew in the wind while making her way to her nearby ride.
The salon visit comes after a busy start to the day, as Ashley tweeted, "Went to the gym ten had a lunch meeting..... Why did they have to have sweet crepes there :/"
Meanwhile, it seems as if Miss Tisdale is doing her best to improve her culinary skills with a little help from gal pal Haylie Duff.
Testing out her kitchen creations on former "High School Musical" co-star Vanessa Hudgens, Tizzie tweeted earlier this morning, "made dinner for Nessa last night. i think im getting really good at this cooking thing lol. @HaylieK you have to teach me some more stuff ha"

Hot on the promotional trail, Katie Holmes paid a visit to "Late Night With Jimmy Fallon" in New York City on Tuesday night (August 9).
The former "Dawson's Creek" star headed inside NBC Studios at Rockefeller Center where she joined host Jimmy Fallon for an interview about her new movie "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark".
During the course of her time on-set, Miss Holmes also partook in Fallon's typical game of the night - with the two competing in a fun-filled game of Pictionary.
As for Katie's soon-to-be-released film - which is set to hit theaters on Friday, August 26th - "Don't Be Afraid of the Dark" is directed by Troy Nixey while telling the story of "a young girl sent to live with her father and his new girlfriend who discovers creatures in her new home who want to claim her as one of their own."

Continuing along with her fun in the sun, Alessandra Ambrosio joined the family for a little waterbound activity on the beaches of Maui, Hawaii on Tuesday (August 9).
The Victoria's Secret supermodel opted for a yellow string bikini as she hopped aboard a kayak with daughter Anja Louise in her arms as fiance Jamie Mazur paddled his ladies around the Pacific Ocean.
Prior to the kayaking adventure, Miss Ambrosio was up early to do a some underwater exploration, as she tweeted, "Bom dia!!!!! Early wake up call to go Snorkling !!!!"
As for keeping her slim n' sexy bikini body just that, the 30-year-old recently told press, "I love doing Pilates, yoga and I bike ride. I love surfing too and being at the beach."
Alessandra added, "For my diet I like eating lighter in the summer, lots of salads and vegetables. It makes you feel good during the day."
