As you may know by now, I am fascinated by all things paranormal. My two favorite paranormal topics to talk and hear stories about are synchronicities and ghosts. In the past, we?ve talked about celebrities? experiences with spirits, including Kevin Bacon destroying a haunted house on his Connecticut property, Suzanne Sommers? widow getting signs from her, Matt Damon finding peace after a dream from his dad, Patrick Stewart?s haunted house in LA, and even the Wales? allegedly haunted Norfolk home.
On this edition of Rosie?s Paranormal Posts, we?re talking about Courteney Cox. Courteney is the latest celeb to speak out about their spiritual encounters. During an appearance on CBS Sunday Morning this past weekend, Courteney shared that she believes Matthew Perry?s spirit visits her pretty frequently because she talks with him and both of her parents for guidance. In fact, Court believes that a lot of the people we?ve lost ?guide us.?
Courteney Cox believes that her late ?Friends? co-star Matthew Perry still ?visits? her 7 months after his untimely death. Appearing on ?CBS Sunday Morning,? the actress, who starred as Monica Geller alongside Perry?s Chandler Bing for 10 seasons on the hit show, commemorated the 20th anniversary of the sitcom?s series finale. In the show, the pair?s two characters ultimately end up together.
?I think he?s probably one of the funniest human beings in the world. He?s just so funny,? Cox, 59, said. ?He is genuinely a huge heart. Obviously struggled. I?m so thankful I got to work so closely with him for so many years. He visits me a lot, if we believe in that.?
Cox was then asked to elaborate on her spirituality, revealing that the late actor ?guides? her.
?I talk to my mom, my dad, Matthew. I feel like there are a lot of people that, I think, guide us,? she shared. ?I do sense ? I sense Matthew?s around for sure.?

That?s very sweet. I?ve talked about the meaningful experiences that my own family had after the death of my beloved grandfather, including him visiting my mom and grandma on the same night without the other knowing about it and making his presence known at the birth of my older son, who was born one year after the day of his passing. (My grandma said she prayed that entire day to not let him be born until after midnight and she got her way, lol.) There?s a reason why the saying goes ?death is hardest on those who are left behind.? Many of us take comfort in a belief that our loved ones are sending us signs from beyond or that they?ve begun their next great adventure. Maybe they are allowed to gently nudge us in the right direction, even if the choice is ours in the end. If Courteney says she feels a connection with Matthew?s spirit while she?s speaking with her loved ones who have passed, then I am not going to discount her experience. I hope it brings her comfort and closure.

Matthew Perry passed away at his home on Saturday. TMZ reportedly paid off a police source to break the news before Perry?s family was informed of his passing. Hellish. Perry?s family came to the scene quickly and the family made some heartbreaking statements. It felt like everyone was waiting for Perry?s Friends costars to speak out, and they waited until they all agreed on a joint statement. They kept it simple. I?m sure they?re all devastated.
The Friends cast is mourning one of their own. Two days after Matthew Perrys sudden death, his fellow castmates from the hit television series ? Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt Leblanc and David Schwimmer ? spoke out in a joint statement, exclusively obtained by PEOPLE.
We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just cast mates. We are a family, their statement reads. There is so much to say, but right now we?re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss.
In time we will say more, as and when we are able, the statement continues. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty?s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.
The message is then signed by Aniston, Cox, Kudrow, LeBlanc and Schwimmer.
Series co-creators Marta Kauffman and David Crane were joined by executive producer Kevin Bright in issuing a joint statement on Sunday.
?We are shocked and deeply, deeply saddened by our beloved friend Matthew?s passing,? they wrote. ?It still seems impossible. All we can say is that we feel blessed to have had him as part of our lives. He was a brilliant talent.? Reflecting on Perry?s breakout performance, they noted, ?It?s a cliche to say that an actor makes a role their own, but in Matthew?s case, there are no truer words. From the day we first heard him embody the role of Chandler Bing, there was no one else for us.?
Kaufman, Crane and Brights statement continued, ?We will always cherish the joy, the light, the blinding intelligence he brought to every moment ? not just to his work, but in life as well. He was always the funniest person in the room. More than that, he was the sweetest, with a giving and selfless heart. We send all of our love to his family and friends. This truly is The One Where Our Hearts Are Broken.?

Calling him ?Matty? broke my heart a little bit that was his nickname with the Friends cast. I hope they?re all talking and supporting each other at this time. While I knew Perry was well-liked within Hollywood, I?ve been surprised by just how many celebrities have been mourning him as a longtime friend. Salma Hayek also posted a statement (they worked together on Fools Rush In) and Gwyneth Paltrow revealed in her statement that they hooked up in their 20s.

Courteney Cox received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this week. I?m shocked that she hasn?t gotten one before now, although they don?t give out stars on merit. Someone has to pay for your star and, like, actually campaign for the star or something. Usually, studios put something together to coincide with a big premiere I would assume that Cox got the star as part of the promotion for Scream VI. Cox?s friends came out for her Walk of Fame ceremony, like Jennifer Aniston and my nemesis Laura Dern. Ahead of her ceremony, Cox chatted with Variety about her career and what she?s learned. She was also asked about Prince Harry doing mushrooms in her house! Some highlights:
Her recurring role on Family Ties: ?I was so nervous. It?s so hard to go into a hit show. I wasn?t a guest star, I was a recurring character, but every time I went it felt like I was starting from scratch! Being on a show and watching Michael J. Fox was the greatest lesson in acting and comedy that I?ve ever seen. He was able to take one line, break it up into three different parts and get three huge laughs. He?s just a master. It was a great experience ? it was nerve-wracking!?
What she learned from ?Friends?: ??Friends? taught me the importance of camaraderie and really sticking together. These friendships were at the most important time in my life, and we went through so many things together. And it just taught me about being there for each other ? I know, that?s the song: ?I?ll be there for you.? But it?s true. It was so nice to work with people that could bounce ideas off each other. Everybody wanted the best for everybody. There was no jealousy, it was only, ?Let?s make the best show we can, and let?s support each other in this.??
Getting cast as Gale Weathers in Scream: ?That?s a really fun character, especially at the very beginning when she was so ruthless. I was known from ?Friends? and ?Family Ties,? known as the girl next door and sweet. I had to talk to [director] Wes Craven and write him a letter and say, ?I know that you don?t think of me as this person, but trust me, I really can be an absolute bitch.? It was over the top in the perfect way. You really care about the characters because they were unique, and you don?t laugh at them, you laugh with them because they?re smart. If they were dumb, they were supposed to be and they?re endearing.?
On Scream VI: ?I missed working with [Neve Campbell] but I?m going to support whatever she feels is right. I have a really good scene with Ghostface and it was amazing. I?ve obviously been stabbed many times and all that, but this time, to work with Ghostface and not know who?s under the mask, it was a really fun. Usually by the time I?m getting stabbed, I know who it is.?
Happiest she?s ever been: ?The place I am in right now is the happiest I?ve ever been. There?s a lot of things that are not great about getting older, but there?s a lot of great things and that is being in a place where I love working. I try harder now at things. I care more. I love directing. I love acting. I love producing. I feel like I?ve been doing it long enough that I actually know what I?m doing and then I can excel. I can be better. I take more chances. There?s just something about the confidence of time, of doing something so long, I probably love it more now than I ever have.?
Prince Harry sampling ?a box of black diamond mushroom chocolates? in her fridge. ?He did stay here for a couple of days ? probably two or three. He?s a really nice person,? she says with a laugh. She also recently saw him at a birthday party and wanted to say hi, but kept to herself since he was talking to others. ?I haven?t read the book. I do want to hear it, because I?ve heard it?s really entertaining. But yes, it?s gotten back to me about it. I?m not saying there were mushrooms! I definitely wasn?t passing them out.?

The story about Harry finding mushrooms and taking them at Cox?s house was always a little bit weird, just because? Courteney has a reputation of being very straight-arrow, no drugs, no shenanigans, no craziness. But maybe she?s chilled out, plus she?s with Johnny McDaid, so maybe some music people brought the drugs? The idea that Cox would let a random prince sleep in her guest room is on-brand for her though. As for the rest of it? she?s had a hell of a career. It?s so weird because, back in the ?90s, most people thought the biggest breakout Friends stars would be Jennifer Aniston, Matthew Perry and/or David Schwimmer. But no, I would argue that Cox and Lisa Kudrow had the better careers overall. Matt Leblanc also ended up having a really great TV career.

Years ago, Courteney Cox started getting work done on her face. She started with fillers and kept going until she looked other than herself. I?m saying this because Courteney is one of the few celebrities who admitted to injectables and said she regretted it. It took her a while to dissolve and lose the changes she?d made, but she reversed them and learned to accept the face age gave her. Looking back, Courteney acknowledges she took measures to look youthful that she would not do now.
Courteney Cox, 58, has no problem admitting where she went wrong.
She admitted that for a while, she struggled to accept the physical changes that accompany aging.
There was a time when you go, Oh, Im changing. Im looking older. And I tried to chase that [youthfulness] for years, she said.
To assuage those feelings, Cox began getting injections in her face. But rather than finding the fountain of youth via injectables, Cox says she started to look really strange.
I didnt realize that, Oh sh** Im actually looking really strange with injections and doing stuff to my face that I would never do now,' she said.
Growing older with the world watching, many of whom remember Cox as a 30-year-old TV star, is no easy feat. And people had plenty to say about her change in appearance.
But when those close to her began to chime in, she knew something had to change.
Id say, The day you realize what your friends were talking about. Because people would talk about me, I think. But there was a period where I went, Ive got to stop. Thats just crazy,' she said.
The scrutiny is intense,? she said, ?but I dont know if it could be more intense than what I put on myself.

I empathize with Courteney on this. I remember looking in the mirror years ago and seeing an older version of myself. My first thought was make it stop! I went with lotions and potions instead of injectables. Of course, my face matured and I look my age, but it doesn?t bother me anymore. There was a period, though, I refused to look at myself in photos because of the face looking back at me. Back in the day, I thought Courteney was one of the most beautiful faces on television. To have to deal not only with beauty changing, but the world at large discussing it, I understand why she went to the lengths she did. Thank goodness she didn?t make any permanent changes so all of it could be a past regret and not a present one.
I found Courteney?s comments about her friends talking about her face interesting. Does she mean behind her back? Or did they have some kind of injection intervention? Now that I write that, it should totally be a thing, especially in Hollywood. And I hope those same folks who talked about Court?s face took a look at their own.
One last thing: this is coming up again because Courteney will be 59 this year, so reporters are taking a Face Your Age approach to her interviews, I guess. But she had a great line about turning 60. She said, ?theres nothing wrong with being 60, I just cant believe it. Time goes so fast. We always assume someone is complaining about their age when they comment on it, but this is such a better answer. Sometimes, it?s just acknowledging the passage of time, not regretting it.

ICourteney Cox joined Instagram in 2019. She told James Corden at the time that Throwback Thursdays were really saving her on the platform because she nailed those. Courteney has truly come into her own on her IG page. She?s got a great mix of photos with her famous friends, family, funny content and since quarantine began: cooking. While speaking with Yahoo recently, Courteney said that she honed her culinary skills during lockdown like so many others. She said her food has now gotten better than most of her favorite restaurants. And since Courteney is everyone?s Friend, she?s posting her best recipes online, including her chicken recipe (below) that she insists everyone should master. She?s partnering with Cointreau for their Ultimate Margarita Showdown so if it sounds like a plug for Cointreau, it is. But, they are donating $100,000 to the Independent Restaurant Coalition helping the bar and restaurant community impacted by the pandemic, so I?m happy to pass it along.
On showcasing her hobbies: When quarantine started, there was nothing to do but stay home and cook. I started really enjoying it, and now I think my cooking is a lot of better than many of the restaurants I used to go to. I still have a few favorite restaurants I?m dying to get the recipes from, but to no avail so far. I love it. It?s become a huge part of my life. Coming up with content for Instagram is never easy, so I thought, How can I let people into some of my hobbies? I thought, I like to cook, I like to play the piano, I like to play tennis, and hang out with Coco. Now, I just share those parts of my life.
On must-have recipes: You mean besides banana bread? Because that?s the quarantine go-to. Everybody has an almost rotten banana! As far as recipes, I think everybody needs to master the baked chicken. For summer, it?s nice to do a lot of Mexican food, which obviously goes nicely with margaritas. What?s nice about Cointreau is that you can make so many drinks with it. I?ve mastered the strawberry margarita and the regular margarita, and that?s been so nice for summer.

Courtney also gave her recipe for a strawberry margarita that you can read here. I don?t drink fruit margaritas, but it sounds good. I?m intrigued by the Red Clay Spicy Margarita Salt she mentioned. I like Cointreau, but I think Margaritas are the only drink I make with it. I also cook a decent amount, but I?ve never found my food better than a restaurant. So I?d love an invitation to Courteney?s for dinner, especially considering the places she can afford to eat. I?ve watched many of her recipes and they do look good. I?m tempted to try her Cacio e Pepe recipe. That?s such a technique dish. If you don?t execute the steps just right, it fails, I?ve not gotten it right yet.
As for Courteney?s assertion that everyone must master a roasted chicken, I half agree with her. Mastering anything is a great tool to have. A solid fallback recipe is helpful for drop in guests or to impress in laws and such. Personally I agree that a meat-eater will never be sorry with a well done chicken. But my husband has never roasted a chicken but has mastered the perfect pan-seared steak and I am eternally grateful for that. My son has also never made a roast chicken but has mastered crepes, and I think more people request those than my chicken. So master what works for you. Whatever it is will be a welcome addition to the potluck.
I haven?t made Courteney?s roasted chicken recipe, but it looks good. She uses leeks and I love leeks. I might try it, but I will never give up my Ina Garten baked chicken. Never.

One of my favorite Friends episodes is the one where Ross dates a beautiful supermodel, played by Rebecca Romijn, and she ends up being a hoarder slob. Spoiler the end, where Monica comes over and tries to clean her place, is priceless. I met a guy early in quarantine who was like that. Fit, liberal and when I saw his house on Zoom I was appalled. Its not that hard to clean up the space behind you! Im the kind of person who shoves sh-t in drawers with a loose organization system and values a clean space over perfectly organized cabinets though. Not Courtney Cox! She recently shared this video on Instagram of her pantry, with the caption Tell me youre a Monica without telling me youre a Monica.

For those who didn?t watch the series Friends, Thanksgiving episodes were always some their best. One of their more famous ones involved Monica, played by Courteney Cox, apologizing to Chandler, played by Matthew Perry, for a past transgression by putting the Thanksgiving turkey on her head and dancing. It was a very funny visual, although the point of the whole thing is it?s the first time Chandler tells Monica he loves her. Oops ? spoiler. Here?s your refresher:
Courteney posted a Happy Thanksgiving post on her IG wall in which she wishes everyone a healthy holiday. If you don?t follow Courteney, she has really emerged as an IG champ. Her posts are homespun goofiness but funny, not cringy. And mixed in with her clever videos are casual selfies of Court and her extremely famous friends. She?s worked with everyone and they all still love her. In her Thanksgiving clip, right after telling us she?s thankful, Courteney said she?d snap if she was sent ?one more g-d damned gif with that turkey on (her) head, dancing like a f*cking fool?. Then she switched gears again, calmly declared herself the symbol of Thanksgiving and put the g-d damn bird back on her head to dance for us:

The cast of Friends has finally reached a deal to put together some sort of reunion show. Honestly, if there has to be a Friends anything, I would rather a reunion than a reboot or movie. Look, I loved the show and still watch the occasional rerun, but I don?t need that corpse reanimated. It ended, let it be. Truth be told, I?ll watch the reunion because I?m a Friends sycophant. I was worried, though, because the cast was asked so often about it, their answers started to sound like maybe there was some discord among them Fortunately, Courteney Cox assures us that?s not the case, and that they could not be more excited about the HBO special (it?s okay if you read that in a Chandler Bing voice, btw).
Courteney Cox is just as excited as the rest of us about the upcoming Friends reunion.
The actress often known as Monica Geller recently went hiking with Kevin Nealon for his webseries, Hiking with Kevin, and opened up about how rare it is to get the cast all together in a clip exclusive to E! News. Nealon asked about her ideal Friends reunion, and not only is it not one in front of a whole bunch of cameras, but its also one that recently happened.
The ideal for me?and we just actually recently did this, and it took forever. I dont know how many years it was, maybe 15 years?and we finally all got together and had dinner, Cox said. And when we get together, which is never?it only happenedit just doesnt happen very often, like twice since we ended the show?its just the most fun. We laugh so hard.
So the exciting thing is that were all going to get together for the first time, in a room, and actually talk about the show, and its going to be on HBO Max, and Im so excited. Were going to have the best time. Its going to be great, she said. But we really havent all done that and actually sat there and talked about and reminisced about this incredible experience that we had. Its gonna be fantastic.

To clarify, Courteney is talking about the first time they have publicly gotten together to reflect on the show and what being on it was like since the show?s end. During their final season, the cast did a Bloopers/Behind the Scenes thing with Conan O?Brien, but the show had not ended yet. And in 2016, the cast, save for Matthew Perry, presented the Friends segment at the James Burrows tribute, where they reflected some, but just a few minutes. As I said, I?m happy this is the format they settled on. I think it will be interesting to hear their perspective now that so much time has passed. They?ve all come full circle from resenting only being acknowledged for their Friends character to embracing that role once again. The cast has found success outside the show, to varying degrees. So this really does sound like they want to come together out of a place of love for the show and not out of some corporate money-grab taking advantage of the current Friends-frenzy popularity. Don?t get me wrong, it?s definitely a money grab for everyone involved, but at least it?s a happy money grab.

Courteney Cox finally appeared on Busy Tonight last week. I say ?finally? because Busy Philipps explained she?s been trying to get Courteney on for ages. Courteney was on to promote her docuseries on Facebook Watch, 9 Months with Courteney Cox, which follows 10 couples through their pregnancies. The show deals with every aspect of a person?s road to parenthood. This includes infertility, something Courtney knows about and wishes more people were talking about it. As she?s been open about, Courteney had multiple miscarriages before she gave birth to her daughter Coco, 14. I paraphrased her in the headline because her quote was too long for our format, but what she said is important. As Courteney explained to Busy, she kept going because she wanted a baby and she talks about it so others don?t feel so alone.
You were so open about your own fertility struggles and your own pregnancy with CoCo on the show. Was that part of the impetus for why you wanted to get involved with the show?
Well, I just think that I like real human stories and yes, I had a difficult time ? I had a lot of miscarriages. And I don?t think that?s something people shouldn?t talk about because it?s not? it was unfortunate, but it happens and I didn?t want to give up. I just think it?s important to get things out there so people can realize they?re not alone.
I think her fertility struggles affected Courteney deeply, but she speaks more pragmatically about her miscarriages than we are used to hearing. I think that?s important when considering that she said ?I didn?t want to give up.? She?s not saying that people who chose alternative fertility options gave up. Shes saying she made the decision to go on, which was right for her but may not be for everyone. I have friends who did nine attempts at in-vitro before they got pregnant. When I asked (after the babies were born healthy) how they could weather all that, they said they asked each other before every round if they were emotionally ready to accept it if it didn?t work. It really is an individual journey and everyone needs to choose their own path. But, as Courteney said, it helps to hear from others who made the same choices you did. I appreciate that she puts her struggles out there and that she?s working with 9 Months to shed light on so many other fertility conversations.
Busy also mentioned in the segment that Courteney was the first person to ever say ?period? on national television. It was in a Tampax commercial ? in 1985! That?s insane. I wonder what year it will be when they stop using blue water to prove absorbency in feminine hygiene products.
