Braving the wet winter weather, Reese Witherspoon was spotted out in Santa Monica, California on Friday morning (January 22).
The “Legally Blonde” beauty smiled as she toted her umbrella in-hand, fresh off of a workout session at the local gym.
The sighting comes amidst rumors that Miss Witherspoon will be teaming up with “Twilight” hunk Robert Pattinson on a new project.
While Reese has already signed on to star in the upcoming adaptation, “Water for Elephants,” Pattinson and Sean Penn are also said to be interested in joining the ensemble.
To be directed by Francis Lawrence, the film is about “a Cornell University veterinary student who joins the Benzini Brothers Most Spectacular Show on Earth to work as a veterinarian during the Great Depression.”

The “Pieces of Me” singer met up with her pal at the delicious Virgil’s BBQ restaurant, where the twosome chowed down on some tasty grub while prepping for the weekend.
Later on this evening, Miss Simpson will be taking the stage, once more, as Roxie Hart during an 8PM showing of the Broadway show “Chicago”.
Nearing its end, Ashlee only has just over two weeks left before her stage stint comes to an end on February 7th.

Working her way into the weekend, Tina Fey was spotted on location for “30 Rock” in New York City on Friday (January 22).
Shooting in Rockefeller Plaza, the former “Saturday Night Live” funny-woman joined up with co-star Michael Sheen to shoot the day’s scenes.
Meanwhile, Miss Fey also recently said that she’s more than willing to help fellow “30 Rock” star Alec Baldwin with his upcoming Oscar co-hosting duties, as needed.
“Anything he needs,” she said. “But I think they have a great staff of writers. I think I’m going to present, maybe. So I get to be there and watch it in person. I hope they make him sing and dance. A lot.”

Even though Nicole Kidman?s face still isn?t moving, I?ve been feeling some pangs of affection and adoration for her. She?s been showing a little personality lately, and her hair is back to bright red, and hey, we?ve got to start somewhere. Next up on my list for Nicole would be for her to stop doing that to her face. Whatever it is. Botox? I have no idea. My guess is that it?s something more hardcore than simple injections of Botox, but I don?t know for sure and people hate when I guess.
Anyway, Star Magazine has this interesting little mini-tidbit about some of the roles Nicole was up for recently? that she didn?t get. Apparently, some Hollywood producers are really afraid that if they hire Nicole, they?re just going to get some stiff, frozen performance:
Blame it on the Botox? After bad reviews for her stiff performance in the flop musical Nine, Nicole Kidman has been dropped from three films: Bel Mai, Monte Carlo, and a remake of the Marilyn Monroe classic How to Marry a Millionaire.
?Nicole?s not aging gracefully, and it?s hurting her chances in Hollywood,? says Michael Levine of LCO, a public relations firm.
But it?s not all bad - Nicole is set to star in The Danish Girl, playing the first man to get a sex change operation.

Now, is it because of the frozen face, or because Nicole has been a consistent box office flop for several years now? Which came first, the chicken of the egg? Because I think the audience started to leave Nicole around the time she started doing that junk to her beautiful face.
I also did a little research to see if Nicole was actually attached to these projects at some point. At one point, this past fall, she was attached to Bel Ami (with Robert Pattinson), but ended up pulling out/being fired last November. Monte Carlo is a project Nicole was not only supposed to star in, but produce. And it?s still listed on Nicole?s IMDB page, so who knows? And as for the How To Marry a Millionaire remake, Nicole is still tentatively attached to that too, according to IMDB. But I hope that one doesn?t even get made. I love the original. How the f-ck could you do better than Marilyn, Lauren Bacall, and Betty Grable? Seriously?

Doing everything she can to protect herself, Kim Kardashian has obtained a restraining order against her alleged stalker Dennis Shaun Bowman.
The “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” babe says Bowman has been following her as of late and believes that he’s an immediate threat to her.
It all started back in September when Dennis began sending Kim messages via Twitter, expressing his intense love for her.
From there, Bowman relocated across the country- from Georgia to California- and moved into the same town (Calabasas) as Kardashian.
Dennis even sent Twitter messages to Kim’s boyfriend, NFL stud Reggie Bush, challenging him to a fight. Under the restraining order Bowman must stay 500 yards away from Kim at all times and cease any attempts to contact her.

Did you know that Julia Roberts is Lancme?s ?global ambassador?? Yeah, I think I read that a while ago and had forgotten it. How weird is that? I mean, I used to think Julia was really lovely. She?s still a very striking woman, but the past few years something has been off. I think she got her eyes done, and the last time she was on Oprah, she looked like she had just been majorly ?refreshed?. I?m sure that her fans will think I?m a hater or whatever (she does pluck my last nerve, so they have a point), but I?m honestly not trying to be nasty - I honestly think she?s had work done to her face. Which, having that opinion, made me laugh when I read Julia?s statements to Women?s Wear Daily (full article here, and be careful, it?s quite a lot of Julia) about how her beautifying rituals came to ?a screeching halt? when she became a mom:
On becoming Lancome?s global ambassador: ?I think I have to stand up straighter and wash my face more. It?s kind of like every girl?s dream, really. To be 42 and have three kids and be a working mom, it?s a great moment to be asked to do this and to be able to do it. I think it says a lot about Lancme and what they stand for.?
Julia on how this lets her have a ?voice?: ?[Youcef Nabi, Lancome?s president] and I had such an immediate rapport the first time we met,? she said. ?You really want to have a relationship where you don?t just want to be the face of something. You want to participate in it, and you want to have a voice in it. I still have to be myself.?
On sitting next to Paul McCartney at the Globes: As soon as Sir Paul McCartney sat down at the table next to Roberts, her phone began chiming. ?It was so embarrassing,? she said. ?It just started going ?ding, ding.?? Roberts said people sent her messages like, ?OMG I can?t believe you?re sitting next to Paul McCartney.?
On her next starring role, in Eat, Pray, Love: ?It was quite a huge undertaking. It was a little bit daunting, dragging three little kids around the world, but well worth it,? said Roberts, referring to her three children, the oldest of whom are five-year-old twins.
On playing the main character, a woman struggling after her divorce: ?I think that she just showed so much courage and humor. I just felt an incredible sense of need to accomplish the task on a great level. Ryan Murphy, who adapted the screenplay and was our director, was incredible. It was really like the acting Olympics. It?s been a long time since I?ve had a full-time acting job. I am really glad that I made the decision to go off and do that movie. I hope that Liz [Gilbert] really likes it more than anything. She?s a really interesting woman. I?m pretty fascinated by her, and I think a lot of people relate to her. So that?s the greatest challenge [with] a book that?s so well-known: You want people to see the movie and have that same sense of interest and comfort that they got from reading the book.?
On not wanting to meet Eat, Pray, Love?s author Elizabeth Gilbert: ?I didn?t want to be overly influenced. She?s such an incandescent personality. I?ve seen her on television, and I?ve heard her on the radio and so I thought, ?OK, I have to be objective.? I wanted to at least start the movie before I met her. We were a few weeks into filming when I met her and her husband, and she was exactly what I wanted her to be.?
On her other movie, Valentine?s Day: ?This movie is just about people loving each other and missing out and getting it right, and it?s pretty incredible.?
Picking her favorite movie (that she?s acted in): ?[It] is like picking your favorite friend; it?s impossible,? she said. ?There are different reasons to love them. Obviously, ?Pretty Woman? had a profound effect on my life, so I have an incredible affection for that movie. ?Pelican Brief? was another really profound moment for me and my relationship with Alan Pakula is a treasure. ?Erin Brockovich? for obvious reasons and then just my own personal reason is so incredible. I met my husband while making ?The Mexican.??
On how the industry has changed: ?There?s just news and fodder and gossip just sort of churned out every second of the day, so in that regard, it?s gotten a little less interesting,? she said. ?Things aren?t allowed to take their time and to blossom and to happen the way they used to. I think it?s so much harder to really start out now than it was when I started.?
On the perks of working for Lancome: ?I get all these things to play with and test and give my opinion about. And it?s quite exciting without having to invest all of myself in how I look because they did come to me as me, which is a pretty casual mom. But you know, it?s nice to up your game a little bit.?
On her beauty regimen: When asked how having children has changed her beauty regimen, Roberts said, ?It kind of comes to a screeching halt. At a certain point in the future, I?ll pick it back up again. I think the nice thing about getting older is it forces you in a way to take a greater interest in your [beauty] regime. And so it?s a good moment for me to join forces with people who can help me.”

WWD also says that though the official number hasn?t been publicized, Julia is probably getting something like $10-15 million for this contract. So, if you want to look like Julia, buy Lancome. It also made me laugh when Julia described Elizabeth Gilbert as ?an incandescent personality?. I?ve seen Gilbert in interviews (try this video of her giving a speech) and she seems really boring and full of herself. Methinks Julia wants to be seen as an ?incandescent personality? too, especially since she?s playing Gilbert.

Shakira has announced that she will be building a school in Haiti to aid the country’s recovery.The 32-year-old star posted a statement on her website just days after she revealed she will be participating in the telethon Hope for Haiti Now: A Global Benefit for Earthquake Relief.The Caribbean country was devastated by the earthquake that has killed tens of thousands of people and left many homeless.The statement said that she will be setting up an initiative to build a new school through her Barefoot Foundation and it will work together with Architecture for Humanity and its NGO partners.Shakira said: “There is a great need for immediate aid in Haiti, but also for longer-term reconstruction.”For that reason, we are doing our small part to help Haiti rebuild and give the children affected by this disaster the chance to learn and thrive.”

Sigh? this makes me feel sorry for Sarah Jessica, and I know I shouldn?t. She?s got a pretty good life with her kids and her thriving Sex and the Retirement Community sequels and all of that. But I?m with Lainey, SJP and Broderick do not look like a happy couple.
In other SJP news, she was just named the new president of Halston. A lot of critics are complaining that this was a boneheaded, Lindsay Lohan-esque move for the House of Halston, but I don?t hate it. It?s not like Halston is Oscar de la Renta or anything - Halston makes pretty cocktail dresses, slinky gowns and generally very cute, wearable clothes. SJP might be a natural. About her appointment as president, SJP says: ?I think this is a brand new kind of business model, and it illustrates how serious I am about this position. I think it?s wonderful to feel invested in something. I tend not to just endorse something. I like feeling the stakes.?
SJP also admits that she came to the company in a ?rather unorthodox way? but that unorthodox isn?t really bad, so whatever. As for what she brings to the table at Halston? ?Good manners, a point of view that is inspiring, that is hopefully smart, and an incredible passion and excitement and enthusiasm, as well as some experience of what I know about women, that having been pretty much the focus of my role in ?Sex and the City.? Oh, crap. She?s going to send of fashion lines based on Carrie Bradshaw? Halston is doomed.

Mischa Barton is being sued by a New York real estate company after she failed to pay rent for an apartment she leased while shooting the now-canceled “The Beautiful Life.” According to the Daily Mail,
MRA Realties Inc claim the actress owes three months of unpaid rent on her apartment in the trendy TriBeCa area of New York.
MRA alleges Barton has rebuffed any attempts to collect rent over the past three months after signing a one year lease in September… [and] asks for Barton to pay back $21,300 in rent and legal fees.
Good luck getting that 21 grand back, guys. That shit is long gone. And I think we know exactly where it all went. It was battered and deep-fried and served with a side of delicious country gravy. Just like the remote and the sports section of yesterday’s paper. Honestly, you can’t leave Mischa alone with a deep-fryer and not expect shit like this to happen.

George Clooney?s star-studded Haiti relief telethon is coming on tonight, on pretty much every channel you could think of. CNN, MTV, ABC, NBC, VH1, and many, many more. Clooney admitted in a new interview that he?s been up for days trying to organize this thing, and last minute guests and performers are still being added today. Meanwhile, there has been some talk of making the guests and performers pay a ?cover charge? for entry into the telethon, but it hasn?t really gotten any traction. It might have been a good idea, but I think Clooney is just focused on getting the damn thing on the air without any technical difficulties and he?s probably not focused on trying to force all of his celebrity friends donate seven-figures immediately.
Not to say they aren?t already, though. George himself put up a million dollars, which he will likely announce during the telethon. Also, Leonardo DiCaprio was the first star to put up a million dollars for Clinton-Bush Haiti Fund, with the money being directed to ?near-term assistance and long-term recovery efforts.? George Clooney and Leonardo DiCaprio are opening up their wallets to help victims in the earthquake-ravaged Haiti.
Clooney is donating $1 million to Friday’s “Hope for Haiti Now” celebrity telethon. He will officially make his donation during the telecast.
He told Entertainment Tonight that he’s been up “three days straight” trying to put together the broadcast, which will air on all four leading U.S. networks, dozens of cable channels and internationally on Internet websites. Brad Pitt and Robert Pattinson are among the participants; Beyonce and Madonna have been added as performers.
Meanwhile, DiCaprio also has donated $1 million.
His money will go to the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund (CBHF) to support near-term assistance and long-term recovery efforts, his rep tells UsMagazine.com.
His donation, dispersed through the Leonardo DiCaprio Fund, which fosters awareness of environmental issues, will help with immediate relief efforts as well as with longer-term redevelopment and infrastructure projects, including a focus towards sustainable development.
“I am grateful for the generous gift Leonardo DiCaprio and his Foundation have made in support of our Clinton Bush Haiti Fund,” former President Clinton said. “Combined with the outpouring of donations from Americans and citizens around the world of all means, this support will go a long way to help save more lives, reach more people with emergency assistance, and help the Haitian people build their nation back stronger and more secure than it was before the earthquake.”

Beyonce will be performing from London (probably standing right next to Sparkles!), and Madge will perform in New York. Hopefully the divas will keep it to their hits and not try to push some ?new material? on us. My guess for Beyonce is ?Halo? and for Madge? ?Don?t Tell Me?. Wouldn?t that be awesome? I love that song. Ah? Madge. The other musical performers include: Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, Stevie Wonder, Taylor Swift, Justin Timberlake and Keith Urban.
Clooney also did an MTV interview that aired last night. He told the audience: ?It’s a big world out there, and we all have a lot of responsibility to look out for people who can’t look out for themselves. So what we can do is first and foremost, raise money. Period. That’s it …If I thought we could all pick up shovels and go in there and help without being in the way, I think a lot of people would do that.” I?ll be watching (and donating!).

Mischa Barton can’t get her act together. Earlier this week we heard the sad story of how Mischa was unable to remember seven lines of dialogue during her guest spot on Law and Order. Mischa was allegedly stumbling over her lines and holding up production. The 23 year-old actress is now living in New York City, having uprooted from LA in order to film the now-canceled CW series “The Beautiful Life.” Mischa seems to have been counting on her salary and probably didn’t have a backup. The NY Post reports that she’s being sued for nonpayment of rent. She’s three months overdue and owes $21,000 to her landlord.
Add “paying her rent” to the list of Mischa Barton’s problems. The wild-child former “O.C.” star is getting sued by MRA Realties for allegedly stiffing it on three months’ rent for a $7,000-a-month loft on Walker Street. Neighbors said she cleared out of the building late last year, and they aren’t tearing up over the loss. One told The Post’s Edmund DeMarche, “When she wasn’t partying, she was moving furniture. She was always making noise.”

At least Mischa moved out and isn’t squatting there, hoping to stay until she’s served eviction papers. I find Mischa to be a little full of herself, but I’m also rooting for her and think that if she’s given the right chance she’ll be able to get back on her feet. She’s troubled, but not as much as some. We haven’t heard anything worrisome about her since she had that breakdown and hospitalization, and that’s a good sign I guess.
