Two women got prominent Balmain looks for the 2024 Met Gala: Elle Fanning and Tyla. Elle?s Balmain was supposed to look like a sculpture, with birds ?holding up? the glassy/icy dress. It was a really cool effect, and she looked amazing. I would have liked to see her do more with her hair and makeup, but honestly, I trust her judgment. She loves fashion, she really thinks about what she?s doing and saying with her red carpet looks, and she was definitely one of my favorites.
As for Tyla? so many women heard something about ?the sands of time,? and they used it as an excuse to wear beige. TO THE MET GALA. At least Tyla actually wore SAND. Her Balmain dress was literally made out of sand, and she carried an ?hourglass clutch.? Her Balmain was so delicate, she had to be carried up the steps of the gala. This was ?A Star Is Born? moment for Tyla, who I had honestly never heard of before last night. But she won over so many fashion people and she got a lot of coverage.

| Brie Larson in Prada at the Met Gala: was she wearing a plant cover? | Added 224 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

The Prada people have us on our mailing list, so I am definitely biased towards them, but Brie Larsons cool-looking Prada cage gown was one of my favorites. Their promotional email describes it as a pencil dress in orange and copper gradient cloquet featuring embroidered degrad crystals, inspired by the Fall/Winter 2007 collection, paired with a cage dress in lilac crinoline inspired by the Fall/Winter 2024 collection. The look is finished with gold brushed leather sandals and clutch. She looks amazing and Im loving how much shes been owning the red carpet lately. This look reminds me of the little tents you put on plants and flowers so that theyre protected. If thats what they were going for its such a clever interpretation of the theme.

| Zendaya wore two John Galliano looks for the 2024 Met Gala: stunning? | Added 224 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

It should be noted that Rihanna planned to attend this year?s Met Gala, but towards the end of the red carpet, People Magazine confirmed that Rihanna canceled her appearance at the last minute because she has the flu. I don?t know if Zendaya knew that ahead of time, but she walked the carpet like she was the main show, like it was her duty to serve in Rihanna?s absence. Zendaya was also one of the Met Gala co-chairs this year, and her stylist Law Roach decided that Zendaya needed two looks for the carpet, and that she needed to truly walk the carpet twice.
Zendaya?s first look the blue stripes, with the feathers and neck-bird was a custom Maison Margiela. This was John Galliano pulling from his own archives and creating a new piece based off of a 1999 look he did for Dior. My reaction to this is to appreciate it but not really love it? It?s very costume-y, which is appropriate for the gala, but it feels overworked to me. The crazy-dark makeup is overkill. But yes, it is absolutely a work of art and Zendaya is killing it.
Zendaya?s second look the all-black gown was a vintage Givenchy, and another look from Galliano?s archives. It?s sort of cool that several women marched straight to John Galliano, btw. In the absence of the late Alexander McQueen, no one else has those kinds of archives. Speaking of, the hat is McQueen.

| Ariana Grande wore Loewe to the 2024 Met Gala: was it the worst of the Loewe looks? | Added 224 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

This post is for all of the Met Gala people who wore Loewe. Loewe showed off a wide array of looks and both of their big brand ambassadors were in attendance too. Ariana Grande is not affiliated with Loewe and it feels weird that she went with them for her Met Gala look: a pale dress in white or maybe a very light grey-blue, with the butterflies on her face. Like, think of all the directions Ari could have gone which would have complemented her style perfectly. Instead we got this.
Anna Wintour surprised me by going with Loewe, and this feels so phoned-in. ?Just give me a coat with some tulips, darling.?
Taylor Russell?s dress was partially made out of wood. The top part is some kind of special treated wood, then there?s a fabric skirt, obviously. It looks really cool!

| Demi Moore in Harris Reed at the Met Gala: dramatic and fabulous? | Added 224 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Last nights Met Gala was a mixed bag of fashion. There were so many ways the Garden of Time/Sleeping Beauties theme could be interpreted, some of that owing to the incredible short story the theme was based on, The Garden of Time by by J.G. Ballard. I was living for the bold and risk-taking looks and Demi Moore in Harris Reed was one of my favorites. Was it a bit too literal? Probably, but its got huge fanned out hips, giant heart sleeves, arrows coming out of it and a bold graphic floral print. I love it! Demi told Ashley Graham during her red carpet interview that it was a light dress despite how big it was. She also mentioned it was archival vintage wallpaper! I hope Demi is living her best life with her tiny dog.
Harris Reed himself also looked amazing. There are so many great elements to this look and its like maximalism that doesnt look busy at all.

| Kim Kardashian looked snatched & miserable in Maison Margiela at the Met Gala | Added 224 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Here are some photos of Kim Kardashian at the 2024 Met Gala. I saw some fashion talk about how she still represents Balenciaga and yet she didn?t wear anything from her friend Demna (the chief designer). Kim stopped repping Balenciaga a few years back, but she does still wear the brand sometimes. This year, she decided not to destroy a significant vintage gown and instead went with a Maison Margiela custom piece by John Galliano. The point of this is to say ?Kim?s 19-inch waist is snatched.? Indeed, she probably had surgery to get her waist that tiny, plus there?s obviously an intense corseting situation happening here. All in all though, she just looks uncomfortable. In the videos of Kim walking the carpet, she looked absolutely miserable and like she couldn?t even breathe properly. What women do for fashion, huh?
I also have to wonder if the cardigan was always part of the plan. The way she was clutching it in a particular way, it makes me wonder if something on the dress broke and the cardigan was a quick fix. Her hair also needs a quick fix she went back to blonde last week and I knew she was doing it for the Met Gala. Congrats, it looks like sh-t. Stop frying your hair!
Bonus Maison Margiela looks: Gwendoline Christie looking absolutely insane, and Bad Bunny looking like The Count of Monte Cristo.

| Nicole Kidman in black and white Balenciaga at the Met Gala: cool tribute to fashion? | Added 224 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Nicole Kidmans black and white Balenciaga gown didnt seem on theme to me when I first saw it, but she said it was a tribute to the Sleeping Beauties theme in that it was a remake of a 1951 Balenciaga gown she saw in a photo, recreated by their current creative director, Demna. (The Met Gala exhibit contains so many fragile and archival gowns that were reawakened for display.) In that respect its an incredible gown and who wouldnt want to wear this? Imagine seeing a gorgeous 70-year-old gown and asking for it to be remade for you. Nicole was clearly enjoying the drama of it all too! Queen.
Fellow fashion goddess Isabelle Huppert was in cream satin Balenciaga that had a long flowing train. She looked so gorgeous and regal. Look at the details on this gown, it looks like a separate top and skirt. Her face says she doesnt want to be there though. I get it. I would be tired after all that.

| Met Gala co-chair Jennifer Lopez wore an icy Schiaparelli: love it or hate it? | Added 224 days ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

It genuinely shocked me to see how many celebrities interpreted ?The Garden of Time? to mean ?metallics, icy, sand/beige, silver and white.? I think most people were expecting florals, colorful looks and interesting vintage. That?s not what we got. Jennifer Lopez, one of the Met Gala co-chairs, kind of got it wrong. That being said, this is one of her best red carpet looks in a while. J.Lo went with a custom Schiaparelli Couture and this is very sexy, flattering, all of it. I wish her makeup had been different, but overall, I really liked this.
Chris Hemsworth was another co-chair who did not really go for the theme. Chris and Elsa Pataky both wore Tom Ford, and Elsa wore a crown. Just? boring, really. The more I look at Chris?s look, the more Miami Vice it seems.
Phoebe Dynevor went for a woodland fairy vibe in this Victoria Beckham. I thought she looked cute, honestly. She wasn?t shooting for the moon, she just wanted to look pretty and she wanted something sort of comfortable.

Kim Kardashian made an appearance at Tom Brady?s Netflix roast on Sunday, which I haven?t watched. I saw some of the clips Nikki Glaser apparently killed, but everyone?s talking about all of the Gisele jokes and how Kim was booed like crazy. Here?s the clip of when Kim first came on stage:
