She announced her pregnancy while doing press for Hulu?s Alaska Daily, which side note I liked and am bummed it was not only canceled but that the remaining episodes after their mid-season break were put behind a paywall. I want to know what happened! Anyway, Hilary had wanted to be a mom for a long time and after years of suffering from ovarian cysts, she was thrilled to finally be able to conceive at 48. The twins are nine-months-old now and Hilary is fully in the thick of it. In fact, she?s currently having twice the fun with sleepless nights.
Hilary Swank is reflecting on the challenges and rewards of being a mom of twins! In April 2023, Swank and her husband Philip Schneider welcomed twins, daughter Aya and son Ohm. Nights are admittedly hard with twins, but Swank also knows there will be a time when shell look back at this period with a different perspective.
?I think that being a mother of twins, I never have had a singleton, so I dont know what thats like, she explained. But I know that the sleepless nights are hard and when you have one that might sleep through the night, the other ones not, so its kind of this trade-off every night.
?But I know this is also a season, and it too will pass, and I try and remind myself that theres going to be a day when Im like, ?Oh, Id love to wake up right now and just hold you.? So just trying and hold on to that.?
Shes already looking forward to the next challenge: when the twins are more mobile.
?Well, theyre only crawling, so its not like were out of control or anything,? she tells PEOPLE.
During an appearance on Today on Monday ahead of the premiere, the new mom revealed the special meaning behind her babies? names.
Aya was a Syrian refugee we met in Lebanon. So she was just this courageous, brave young girl full of life going through a really difficult time. My husband and I were like, she?s so beautiful, what a great name, she shared.
As for son Ohm, Swank said, Ohm is considered the first universal sound and unites all people, and that sounds very fitting.

Hilary, girl, I feel you. Those sleepless nights, especially when you aren?t used to them, are brutal. I feel like I aged years during those years that my kids were under two-years-old. Those cuddles and snuggles and morning smiles make it all worth it, though. I?ve never had twins, but went through a period of time when both of my boys, who are almost four years apart, woke up throughout the night. Power to all of you moms of multiples out there! I can?t imagine what it?s like doing those overnights with twin infants, especially if both want to be fed by mom at the same time. Mobile babies (toddlers) on the other hand, now that?s a whole different beast and set of worries! I wish Hilary all of the best when they get to that stage.

Hilary Swank has a new series on ABC. It?s called Alaska Daily and it?s about a big city news reporter moving to Anchorage, Alaska, which is also a big city, but different because it?s Alaska, I guess. That?s a gross oversimplification, but you get the gist. Reviews are decent, if not mixed. However, the consensus is that Hilary?s performance carries the show. That?s not surprising as she is a great actor. Shes also an executive producer of the show, which is good because she?s thrown a couple of curveballs to the production team recently. She started changing her wardrobe up, messing with continuity, without explanation and told her crew she?d just make it work. The reason? Hilary, who is 48, is pregnant with twins. But she didn?t want to tell anyone on the set until she was out of her first trimester, thus the wardrobe changes, things weren?t fitting. But when she did get to her second trimester, she told Good Morning America before the production team.
The Oscar-winning actress, 48, just revealed the couple are expecting twins! Hilary was a guest on Good Morning America on Wednesday (October 5) when she made the exciting announcement, saying, ?It?s so nice to be able to talk about it and share it.?
?This is something that I?ve been wanting for a long time and my next thing is I?m gonna be a mom,? continued the Boys Don?t Cry star. ?And not just of one, but of two. I can?t believe it.? This will be the first children for both Hilary and [Philip].
Hilary also appeared on Live with Kelly and Ryan after GMA and said she hadn?t let the production crew on her new show Alaska Daily know she was pregnant until her GMA announcement, even though she?s in her second trimester.
?My clothes started not to fit so I had to, the other day ? cut [my jeans] open. And then I put a jacket on that wasn?t in continuity,? the actress explained with a laugh. ?And [they] came and said, ?That?s not in continuity.? I said, ?Oh, I think it works.? ?It doesn?t.? ?No, it does. I?m going to make it work.? She?s like, ?If you?re an executive producer, you can do it, but this is weird.? ?

As the article said, these are Hilary and her husband Philip Schneider?s first children. They?ve been married since 2018 and, as Hilary said, she?s always wanted to be a mom. This is wonderful news. It?s surprising news, but wonderful. I?m surprised she booked a series when she was pregnant with twins. That?s a lot of work ? both the babies and fronting a new series. I?m sure she took all that into account, though. My guess is they won?t write the pregnancy into the show, so I bet her character Eileen will go from baggy sweaters to reading a lot of newspapers positioned just so in front of her belly.
The important thing, however, is Hilary and Philip are getting their wish. God bless if she has the stamina at 48, I couldn?t have done it, but Hilary has always had more drive than me. Congratulations to them. Can?t wait to meet the new additions.

The latest news about Hilary is that she?s decided to take on SAG-AFTRA. Hilary is suing the actors? union?s healthcare plan. Hilary, who was diagnosed in 2008 with ovarian cysts, has been denied coverage for treatment since 2015 because the brainiacs who run the health plan claim shes just trying to prolong her fertility. So Hilary?s had enough of their BS and is taking the matter to court. Good.
Hilary Swank is suing the SAG-AFTRAs antiquated, barbaric health plan after being denied coverage for the treatment of malignant ovarian cysts.
The Oscar-winning actress, 46, filed a lawsuit on Tuesday against the board of trustees of the SAG-AFTRA health plan in which she said she had been denied coverage for the treatment of ovarian cysts, in court documents obtained by PEOPLE.
The actress claims the trustees stopped allowing Swanks claims for treatment of ovarian cysts in 2015, according to the court documents. Swank was diagnosed with ovarian cysts in 2008, around the time her left ovary was destroyed and removed during emergency surgery.
In a statement obtained by PEOPLE, the actress said she was truly exhausted by the way womens ovarian and cyclical health issues continue to be treated by healthcare insurance companies.
I have experienced it in my own life, and I continually read about it across social media and in the press, Swank said. Their policies are antiquated, barbaric and primarily view the role of womens organs solely as a means for procreation.
My hope is to create change for all woman suffering from womens health issues that have to battle with insurance companies who diminish the significance of their problems, dont believe the patient (or their doctors) explanations surrounding their suffering, and severely preclude coverage to only incredibly limited services and procedures.
She continued, Its painful enough having to deal with the nature of a female health issue, let alone having to wrestle with the stress of trying to get your insurance company to provide the coverage and care that their contract explicitly states they offer.
After years of experiencing my own health issues and the ensuing denials from my healthcare company for services that are medically proven to preserve my life, and seeing how expensive this is to support without the help of an insurance company, I decided to speak up, Swank said. Based on what I learned, I know that most women cant afford the medical treatments necessary to cover simple female health issues. I can only assume they either financially deplete their resources, or they forgo the treatments, quietly suffering in pain and risking their lives.
The actress added, My hope is to be a voice for them. SAG/AFTRA Healthplan claim they treat and protect all their members equally. I dont believe this is true. If youre a woman suffering from female health issues, I have no doubt youll agree with me. If youre a man, ask your mother, your daughter, your sister, or a girlfriend. I already know the answer.
Im suing SAG/AFTRA Healthplan, Swank concluded. Its time we are treated fairly.

Hilary?s coverage was still denied even after her doctor wrote in on her behalf explaining her treatment had nothing to do with trying to get pregnant and everything to do with Hilary?s health. According to the article, the trustees for the healthcare plan doubled down, stating, there was no medically necessary reason to treat or monitor ovarian cysts other than for infertility treatment. I had one singular ovarian cyst burst on me in high school while running laps during gym. It only ever happened the one time but I vividly remember doubling over on the track thinking I?d been shot. If these bastards don?t think cysts are a problem, how about they grow some and see how that goes for them. Every day women are told their bodies don?t matter unless they are used to serve men. Hilary just turned 46 so I assume SAG/AFTRA?s health plan trustees decided she was too old to be having babies, so they denied the cyst coverage. But if that isn?t bad enough, we get back to Hilary?s point, one with which I cannot agree stronger ? It?s. Not. Always. About. Having. Babies. If cysts become problematic in any way, it could lead to very serious health problems for a woman. Why are women punished for wanting to live pain free?
Needless to say I hope Hilary is successful. Honestly, I wouldn?t care if she was just trying to extend her fertility, that?s her body, her choice ? no bureaucrat should get to decide if it?s her right.

Hilary Swank may be out of touch as to what the Everywoman is looking for in an athletic line but she’s solidly earned her place in Hollywood. However, because it?s Hollywood, that just doesn?t matter because as a woman she’s of reduced value to the studios. Appearing on Chelsea Handler?s Netflix show with Ava DuVernay, Connie Britton and Miss USA Deshauna Barber, Hilary gave an appalling example of just how tremendous the disparity between men and women salaries in Hollywood is.
?When I did ?Boys Don?t Cry,? I was 24 years old. I made $3,000,? Swank, 42, explained to Chelsea Handler on her Netflix show, ?Chelsea.? ?In order to have health insurance, you have to make $5,000, so I didn?t even know that I didn?t have health insurance until I went and tried to get a prescription filled. They said, ?That?s $160.? ? I had an Academy Award [and] no health insurance.?
She continued, ?Then I win my second Academy Award, and the next couple movies later, I get offered a movie but the male [lead] hadn?t had any kind of critical success, but had been in a movie where he was hot,? she said. ?He got offered $10 million and I got offered $500,000.?
?I said no, and they went and found a newcomer who did it for $50,000,? she said. ?They made a savings of $450,000, probably to give the guy his bonuses.?

Jaysus H. Christmas ? how in demand was this dude to deserve twenty times more cash than a two-time Academy-Award winner? Only Cary Grant could fit that bill. There is so much wrong with this. Hilary won her second Oscar for Million Dollar Baby in 2005 ? that?s only 11 years ago. And then to offer the next actress only $50K? That?s criminal. Boys Don?t Cry had a $2 million budget. Whereas you would think they could have coughed up the additional $2K to get Hilary her health insurance, maybe things were that tight. Maybe they just had to work with what they could. Maybe, but I doubt it. They were likely just preying on a poor actress who was trying to make the leap from television to movies.

Then, following Hilary demonstrating how terribly women in the industry are taken advantage of – on her show on gender inequality – Handler said she employs ten male writers and two women and she would never hire a woman just because she was a woman. Ava, who intentionally hired all women directors for her Queen Sugar show because these exceptionally talented women weren?t being allowed to break into TV directing, pointed out, ?No one wanted to be the first person to give them a chance… At some point you gotta let a woman give it a try.? After Connie Britton called Handler a feminist role model, I finally just took to my bed with a damp cloth over my eyes.

Actress Hilary Swank and her professional tennis playing beau, Ruben Torres, have called off their engagement. This is the latest celebrity breakup on the heels of celebrity couples Demi Lovato and Wilmer Valderrama and Taylor Swift and Calvin Harris – among others.
The 41-year-old Oscar winner and the tennis pro had been dating since July of 2015. They got engaged during a Palm Springs trip this March. It would have been the second marriage for Hilary, who was married to Chad Lowe from 1997 to 2007.
Hilary quietly removed her engagement announcement from social media and was photographed sans her diamond and emerald engagement ring at the 2016 French Open on Saturday. Hilary posted photos from the event on her Instagram page as well.

Here are some new photos of Hilary Swank in Milan on Sunday and Monday. She attended two events for Ferragamo, so I suspect she was paid to be there. It?s a nice life ? getting paid to fly to Italy and wear pretty clothes. I?m assuming both of the dresses in these photos are Ferragamo, and I find myself enchanted by the champagne satin one. Ordinarily, ?champagne satin? equals ?bad fashion? but this dress really works, doesn?t it? The shiny black dress is rather pretty too. My only complaint? She should do something with her hair.
Hilary has been in the wind for the past two years or so. After the Chechen dictator?s birthday party in 2011, Swank really went undercover. One of the last times we talked about her was in 2012, when she and her agent boyfriend broke up (he was her jumpoff after she and Chad Lowe split). We can literally go YEARS without new photos of Hilary, which is really weird because? she?s a two-time Best Actress winner. Weird, right? This year is actually the ten-year anniversary of Million Dollar Baby, the second time she won Best Actress. Well? at least she?s gotten better at choosing her side projects/paying gigs. No more birthday parties for Chechen dictators. Just light fashion appearances.
PS? Apparently the tall dude is James Ferragamo, the artistic director of Ferragamo. Do you think he?s just acting as a friend/handler for Hilary or is there something else there? Hm.

It?s time for a Hollywood history lesson! In early 2006, Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe split up after ten years of marriage. There was some back and forth for a few months when it looked like they might get back together, but then Hilary started being seen around LA with a ?mystery man?. The man turned out to be John Campisi, her agent. Her agent who was married with a small child. Around the same time (mid-2006), Hilary gave a somewhat infamous Vanity Fair interview in which she publicly called out Chad Lowe for his addiction issues. Some people thought Hilary was being plainspoken and direct. Some thought she was being off-side and bitchy by airing such personal details about her estranged husband.
Anyway, Chad and Hilary?s divorce eventually came through, and quietly, along that same time period, John Campisi divorced his wife. Hilary and John always claimed that John and his wife were separated when he and Hilary got together, and Hilary has always claimed that they were simply friends for a long time (friends that went on a lot of date-like activities for a year) before becoming romantic. And that?s the way it?s been ever since 2006 ? Hilary and John lived together, they openly discussed the possibility of marriage and children (well, she discussed it in interviews)? and now Hilary and John are over.
It wasn’t quite a summer of love for Hilary Swank. A rep for the actress exclusively confirms to PEOPLE that she and boyfriend John Campisi have ended their five-year relationship. The pair split earlier this summer.
The Oscar winner, who has spent the majority of the summer filming Mary & Martha with Brenda Blethyn in South Africa and Wilmington, N.C., and Campisi began dating in 2007.
In 2010, Swank spoke to InStyle about the possibility of getting married again, after her split with ex-husband Chad Lowe.
“Friends of mine and I talk about this. Does someone come into your life for a certain time, and then you are supposed to go your separate ways?” she asked at the time. “There’s a part of me that thinks that’s true.”

My radar is up for possible scandals involving this breakup, and I?m sure some of you will be reviewing old blind items to see what fits. It could be a case of two mature adults simply growing apart and ending their relationship on their terms. Or it could be something juicier. I don?t know at this point. I will say this ? I don?t think Swank?s reputation has recovered from last year?s scandal in which Hilary was one of several celebrities paid to make a personal appearance at a Chechen despot?s birthday party. Hilary faced a barrage of criticism, she was forced to offer a somewhat weak apology (but did she give the money back?), and she has been keeping a significantly lower profile ever since. I?m actually thinking that the huge hit Hilary took from that might have affected her relationship with Campisi.
This is just an aside for those of you who followed this Swank-Campisi story for years ? do you think Swank regrets all of her public discussion about John Campisi?s young son? She talked about her relationship with Campisi?s son at several interviews over the years, and she even discussed walking around naked in front of the kid. Her Gisele-like public announcements regarding this kid always bothered me.

A rep for the 38-year-old actress confirmed that the pair ended their relations earlier this summer.
The Oscar winning-actress, who has spent recent months filming ?Mary & Martha? with Brenda Blethyn in South Africa and Wilmington, N.C., began dating Campisi in 2007.
Back in 2010, Hilary spoke to InStyle magazine about the possibility of getting married again, in which she responded, ?"Friends of mine and I talk about this.
