Lindsay Lohan — who is currently on probation for stealing jewelry, BTW — was questioned by police after jewelry inexplicably went missing from the Hollywood Hills home in which she passed out Sunday night. You don’t say. The TMZ says:
According to sources, Lindsay slept over at the home in question Sunday night after a small get together — along with several guests — and when everyone woke up this morning, the owner of the home claimed expensive jewelry had been stolen from the property.
Police were called to the home and interviewed everyone inside, including Lindsay.
We’re told Lindsay was very cooperative — but claimed she had nothing to do with any missing jewelry.
When giving her statement, Lindsay reportedly told the cops, “I don’t know anything! The brakes failed! Those aren’t my pants! My passport was stolen!” before a diamond bracelet and an iPhone fell out of her snatch and she started vomiting. Never underestimate how much loot can be packed into a Lohan body cavity.

These are photos of Halle Berry looking like a million bucks in a clingy gray cowl neck dress with a blue paint splatter print. This dress is amazing, and Halle has paired it with some casual black flip flops that look just slightly fancier than the ones I’m wearing now. She looks incredible, and like she’s plotting something, right? She’s got some kind of notepad with her, she’s talking animatedly, and I would bet that the woman with her is a lawyer or someone otherwise connected to her custody case. That’s just a hunch, and I could be completely wrong, but that’s the vibe I’m getting. Halle, this unnamed woman, and Halle’s fiance Olivier Martinez were spotted out at lunch on Melrose Ave on Sunday. Ok, so it was Sunday and it might have been just friends going for lunch, but where Halle is involved I’m suspicious.
The last we heard, Halle had called in Salma Hayek to submit a sworn declaration in her custody case. Halle is of course trying to move to France with her daughter Nahla, against the wishes her Nahla’s father, Gabriel Aubry. Halle’s central argument is that the paparazzi are aggressive and threaten Nahla’s safety in LA and that a move to France would protect the child. It looks like Halle might get her way, but we haven’t heard anything yet about the judge’s ruling. So the case is either ongoing, or the decision was unfavorable to Halle and she doesn’t want the news to get out. I’m thinking that nothing has been decided yet, but TMZ’s lack of updates has definitely been suspicious. Maybe more news will come out this week.
Meanwhile Gabriel’s camp has been very quiet. He used to leak news to Radar Online, (which was not always beneficial to his image) and at some point Radar switched and seemed to be as team Halle as TMZ. Maybe Gabriel realized that it wasn’t helping his case to play the media game, although it seemed like he was just trying to defend himself. He’s had to do that quite a bit since the breakup with Halle. I hope the lack of news means that Gabe is winning this round.

Katie Holmes and Suri Cruise are steadily enjoying their very last days of summer before Suri gets started at her new school, Avenues, for first grade. In these photos, the girls headed out to the Make Meaning activity center in NYC before heading to an Upper East Side bakery. Suri is not loving the photographers (at one point, she stuck her tongue out at them), and there’s a new bodyguard in attendance as well. You may have also noticed that Katie is still wearing those everpresent fug booties that she loves so much. The Mail has taken it upon themselves to write an ode to the booties. Actually, not so much. They’re making fun of Katie for wearing them fifteen times in a row. C’mon, they’re understating it just a bit now because I know that Katie has worn those shoes far more consecutive times than that:
Double denim, Boden style stripes, shapeless frocks and boring ballet shoes have been staples of Katie’s wardrobe for the past five years as she dressed to distract from a marked height and age difference between her and 5.7? 50 year old husband Tom.
And while she showed fashionable promise days after her divorce from movie star Cruise when she stepped out in sky-high heels, it seems Katie has reverted to her old ways.
Since her sidekick Suri has been spending more time with her father, Katie has found a new best friend in the form of a tired, grubby pair of boots and the pair have been inseparable since she first donned them in early July.
In fact, Katie loves the tan suede Isabel Marant boots so much that she has worn them 15 times in the last 30 days.

Actually, the Mail is wrong about Katie first breaking in those booties in July. We have photos of her wearing them last September for crying out loud. Not that I should talk because I work at home and pretty much wear my running shoes whenever I go anyplace. Of course, I don’t hold myself out as a fashion designer like Katie does. Still, she really loves those damn shoes, and you know what? I’ve given up the fight. Katie and her booties win. Long live the fug booties! That’s what her next Holmes & Yang line should be — all styles of fug booties.
As for Suri, I hope she makes the most of her lingering days of summer. A structured school schedule will probably come as quite a surprise, but she’ll be fine after a few weeks of adjustment. Suri will probably even thrive in a disciplined, organized environment. Isn’t she just a gorgeous child though? Tom and Katie might have been a mess as a couple, but they made for a great gene pool. And yes, I still think Tom is Suri’s bio dad, and I’m glad she didn’t inherit his crazy ass smile.

Aw. Just? aw. These are new photos of Colin Farrell and his son Henry out and about in Los Angeles yesterday. Colin took his youngest son to Baskin-Robbins, then they went book shopping and Henry got a new kid?s book. Henry?s third birthday is coming up in October ? his mom is Colin?s former girlfriend Alicja Bachleda. Colin and Alicja met and fell in love while they were filming Ondine in 2008, and Alicja quickly became pregnant, and gave birth to Henry in 2009. Alicja and Colin broke up the following year, and since then, it seems like Colin has gone without a long-term girlfriend (although I?m sure he?s dating around). I think Henry takes after his mother, right? I see a lot of Alicja in Henry ? her fair coloring, similar face.
Does anyone know if Alicja and Henry live full-time in LA? I know Colin?s son James and James?s mom Kim live in LA, and from what I?ve seen, Colin and Kim have a loose and comfortable joint custody arrangement with James. But I wonder what Alicja and Colin have arranged?
Colin does seem like a really great dad, doesn?t he? Very? ?present?. Very focused on his son. In a recent interview, Colin described his evolution to become a better father, saying: ?People say having children changes you, doesn?t it? Unfortunately not. You can go around the world and see stories where it doesn?t change people. You have to allow it to invite the change in. So the first three years of James?s life was me going ?I?m not going to change, I?m just going to be his friend ? we?re going to be pals. But that didn?t work out so well. And then based on a couple of life changes I made myself, I thought, ?Why am I fighting change???

Julia gave an interview to InStyle Magazine?s September issue, and she discussed beauty tips and plastic surgery. People are leading with her ?I brush my teeth with baking soda? confession, but I think the real story might be that Julia once again denies that she?s ever been nipped and tucked:

Judging from her Rachel-Green-is-peeved expression, I?m guessing that the scene has her fuming and telling off her pretend husband, played by Jason Sudeikis, possibly because he was the one to pop open her blouse?
Anyway, as we continued to discuss yesterday, everyone is still on Aniston Ring Watch. She?s building the anticipation for the big reveal! Because I still don?t think she?s even been wearing her engagement ring the past few days ? I think she?s just been wearing her prop wedding band from this dumb film. People Mag got into the whole ?Ring Watch? thing yesterday when they revealed some previously unknown information about the ring:
Jennifer Aniston happily shared her engagement news ? but she hasn’t been so forthcoming about the ring she received from Justin Theroux.
The newly engaged star, 43, seems to be playing peek-a-boo with her ring as she was photographed leaving a movie theater in North Carolina, where she is filming the movie We’re the Millers. In the photos taken Friday, she mostly keeps her left hand hidden in her pocket, but in one shot is seen wearing a simple gold band on her ring finger.
But is the plain band the same ring she accepted from her fianc when he popped the question on his birthday earlier this month? Has she turned the bauble around to hide a diamond or is it really a simple band?
According to a source, Theroux, 41, helped design the ring with a friend who is a jeweler, which suggests something more elaborate than a gold band.
Reps for the couple are staying mum.
So for now, fans will have to wait for the ring to be unveiled.

So, Justin ?helped design the ring?. What does that remind me of? I can?t quite remember. It?s probably not important. Believe it or not, I?ve actually been giving JustJen the benefit of the doubt the past few weeks, but as the ring debut gets drawn out, I?m beginning to reach for my Uncool Bermuda Triangle tin-foil hat. Why is that we can?t even get a confirmation on WHICH jeweler Justin Theroux went to for the ring? I?m fine with the idea that we haven?t seen the ring yet, and that Jennifer hasn?t wanted to show it off. But it seems really strange to me that no information has been confirmed about the ring thus far (I?m not counting Life & Style?s report, because it just seemed like guesswork).

Here are some new photos of Eva Mendes and her GIANT DOG, shopping in LA yesterday with the help of Eva?s stylist, Rachel Zoe. First of all, I forgot that Zoe was Eva?s stylist. That?s? odd. Zoe?s clients include Cameron Diaz, Kate Hudson, Anne Hathaway and Jennifer Garner. I guess Eva Mendes would be at that kind of level of ?fashion girl? but it still seems kind of weird to me. Two, we really need to talk about Eva?s dog.
I really didn?t know Eva had a big dog. I thought Eva merely looked after Ryan Gosling?s Mohawked puppy George when Ryan was away. I?m sure Mendes-Gosling know-it-alls will yell at me and tell me OF COURSE Eva has always had a giant dog, but I seriously didn?t know. As for the dog ? he?s awesome. I love big dogs, probably because I?ve always been a dog-mom to a big dogs. My monster is bigger than this puppy, but not by much. I like when a woman has a big dog ? a big dog makes you feel safe, he?ll make you feel like at least someone has got your back.
But I?m bothered by the fact that Eva didn?t seem to bring a leash for her big dog?? She seems to be pulling on his collar (kind of choking him) for the short walk from a building to the car. I know that stance very well ? the dog is strong enough to rip her arm off, so she?s doing a preemptive ?You better behave? choke-hold on her dog ? which is good for the paparazzi, because the dog could conceivably go buck-wild on them. I?ll admit, I?ve done this before, mostly when my dog was misbehaving and I was leading him into the house (where he would get a thump on the snout and a ?BAD. DOG.?). But if Eva brought her puppy out into the world, into an office building or store or something?? Why not just bring his leash, you know?

I mentioned part of this new Blake Lively interview in yesterday?s links, but it?s worth discussing the entire piece in full right now. Blake gave an interview to something called ?Style Magazine? which I?m assuming is a UK publication. In the interview, Blake reiterates her favorite Q&A chestnut, which is that she never, ever works out and she just has that body normally without any exercise at all. She also discusses how you?ll never see her do a nude scene on film. I guess we?re supposed to forget about seeing her bits and pieces in those hacked (?hacked??) photos then. And although I haven?t seen Savages yet, I?m sure I heard something about a graphic sex scene? Yes, yes, I did. And didn’t she has sex scenes in The Private Lives of Pippa Lee? I never saw that either. But this is probably just Blake trying to prove how she?s a super-modest 1950s housewife, I guess.
Blake Lively has ruled out ever doing nude scenes. The Gossip Girl star said she is not a fan of stripping off for acting roles and said she found nudity in movies ‘distracting’ to the plot.
The 24-year-old said: ‘When I see nudity in movies, I am always distracted by it. I know that if I am watching a scene and someone has their b00bs out, then that’s all I’m looking at – I can’t help it. I just don’t think that will ever be right for me.’
Lively, who is dating Ryan Reynolds, is one of Hollywood’s most sought after young actresses. She was recently seen in the Oliver Stone thriller Savages and is known to have an enviable body. But insists she does virtually no exercise to maintain her slim figure.
She told Style magazine: ‘I am terrible; I don’t do any exercise – I’m going to have to learn the hard way. I love food too much, and my family is from the South, so the food I like is not necessarily the best for you. There are days when I will be like, “Oh my goodness, I am not happy with the way I look because I cannot fit into any of my clothes”. So I eat quinoa that week, and then I feel good.’
Lively said she realises how fickle Hollywood can be and relies on her family and close friends to keep her grounded. The star remains grounded by surrounding herself with friends and family who are always truthful with her.
‘The same people who love you to death one day will hate you to death the next, so who do you give the keys to your self-worth to?,’ she said. ‘You have to have those keys for yourself. And you have to surround yourself with people who are honest with you. I need honesty. I need good friends who can say, “I love you to death, but you look terrible in that and you need to change right now.”‘

I don?t have a raging hate-on OR love-on for Blake either way. Sometimes she?s very interesting, sometimes she?s super-annoying. I?m finding this current version of Blake to be pretty annoying. She?s trying to convince us of too many things all at once ? like, we?re supposed to think that she?s a super-glamorous fashionista who loves clothes and has a natural ?style eye? AND that she doesn?t care about how she looks insomuch as she doesn?t feel like going to the gym ever AND that she?s a perfect Betty Crocker housewife and super-loyal girlfriend to her barely four boyfriends (total, over her lifetime). Maybe she truly is all of those things. But I suspect that she?s just an ambitious hustler who works incredibly hard to project a certain kind of image.

I don’t know about you, but as a 37-year-old woman, I’ve grown rather tired of people asking me whether I ever plan on having another child besides the 11-year-old daughter who already exists and occupies what feels like most of my time on a daily basis. Don’t get me wrong — I love the hell out of my kid, but I don’t think I could ever go there again, especially since she’s getting up there in age, you know? So it comes as a great surprise that I actually have something in common with Gwyneth Paltrow (besides our mutual love of woodburning pizza ovens and quarterly colon cleanses, natch). Goopy (who is 39 these days) doesn’t want to have any more kids either.
Of course, Goop is already mother to two children, Apple (8) and Moses (6), but she’s so busy these days Gooping it up; that is, running her “lifestyle company curated by Gwyneth Paltrow.” This week, she’s selling a set of 4 Turkish towels for $240! This is not to mention the $425 colon cleanse, $270 acrylic tray, and $90 t-shirt for her fawning peasants, right? Plus she’s busy launching her pub-singing career while somehow managing to still land herself in those Iron Man movies (she’s currently filming part three). But seriously, I get it in regard to wanting to reclaim one’s life instead of going through the nursing and diaper routine for months, possibly years. Here are some excerpts of Goopy wisdom:
On having more children: “I don’t know if I can go back to diapers. I don’t think so. I would love to, but I sort of feel like I don’t know if I can go back to diapers and things like that. I’m so past that, I think I may have missed the window. I think if maybe when Moses was three, I would have done it, or four even, but now he’s six and such a guy, I feel like I’m out of the baby phase. If it happens, it happens.”
Becoming a mom completed her: “I feel like motherhood has given me all my happiness and a real life: a husband, my children and everything that?s invested in that. Every woman is different, but for me that?s where I?ve gotten my real happiness.”
But she’s a less attentive mother in Los Angeles: “When I’m in LA, I’m always packing things in. I tend to be really busy – my doctors are out there, Apple’s orthodontist, that kind of thing. Plus, that?s where I focus on movie stuff and I see all my friends. It changes more – I tend not to spend all my time with the kids.”
She’s so stressed out and busy now: “I find that I get stressed out when I try to do too many things at once, and so I try not to. I feel very stressed out if I’m trying to cook and help the children with their homework and answer emails and talk to my lawyer or whatever. I feel really overwhelmed. So I try to just do things one at a time.”
She doesn’t mind aging — for now: “I like being older. It?s nice to really know yourself and feel relaxed. And I actually think I look better now than I did when I was 24, so I’m very comfortable with myself.”

So Goop thinks she looks better now than she does when she filmed Sliding Doors and A Perfect Murder? I guess it’s great that she’s happy with the way she looks, but it seems to be such a self-punishing lifestyle that she leads, what with the fasting and constant flat-ironing of one’s hair. Gwyneth is so stringent.
Now back to the whole “done with diapers” notion. At least Apple and Moses won’t have a companion to share in their humiliation of rediscovering Mommy’s sideboob one day on the internet, right? Small mercies.

It?s time for a Hollywood history lesson! In early 2006, Hilary Swank and Chad Lowe split up after ten years of marriage. There was some back and forth for a few months when it looked like they might get back together, but then Hilary started being seen around LA with a ?mystery man?. The man turned out to be John Campisi, her agent. Her agent who was married with a small child. Around the same time (mid-2006), Hilary gave a somewhat infamous Vanity Fair interview in which she publicly called out Chad Lowe for his addiction issues. Some people thought Hilary was being plainspoken and direct. Some thought she was being off-side and bitchy by airing such personal details about her estranged husband.
Anyway, Chad and Hilary?s divorce eventually came through, and quietly, along that same time period, John Campisi divorced his wife. Hilary and John always claimed that John and his wife were separated when he and Hilary got together, and Hilary has always claimed that they were simply friends for a long time (friends that went on a lot of date-like activities for a year) before becoming romantic. And that?s the way it?s been ever since 2006 ? Hilary and John lived together, they openly discussed the possibility of marriage and children (well, she discussed it in interviews)? and now Hilary and John are over.
It wasn’t quite a summer of love for Hilary Swank. A rep for the actress exclusively confirms to PEOPLE that she and boyfriend John Campisi have ended their five-year relationship. The pair split earlier this summer.
The Oscar winner, who has spent the majority of the summer filming Mary & Martha with Brenda Blethyn in South Africa and Wilmington, N.C., and Campisi began dating in 2007.
In 2010, Swank spoke to InStyle about the possibility of getting married again, after her split with ex-husband Chad Lowe.
“Friends of mine and I talk about this. Does someone come into your life for a certain time, and then you are supposed to go your separate ways?” she asked at the time. “There’s a part of me that thinks that’s true.”

My radar is up for possible scandals involving this breakup, and I?m sure some of you will be reviewing old blind items to see what fits. It could be a case of two mature adults simply growing apart and ending their relationship on their terms. Or it could be something juicier. I don?t know at this point. I will say this ? I don?t think Swank?s reputation has recovered from last year?s scandal in which Hilary was one of several celebrities paid to make a personal appearance at a Chechen despot?s birthday party. Hilary faced a barrage of criticism, she was forced to offer a somewhat weak apology (but did she give the money back?), and she has been keeping a significantly lower profile ever since. I?m actually thinking that the huge hit Hilary took from that might have affected her relationship with Campisi.
This is just an aside for those of you who followed this Swank-Campisi story for years ? do you think Swank regrets all of her public discussion about John Campisi?s young son? She talked about her relationship with Campisi?s son at several interviews over the years, and she even discussed walking around naked in front of the kid. Her Gisele-like public announcements regarding this kid always bothered me.

Maggie Gyllenhaal wants you to know that she is not a judgy mother. With this statement comes another admission: she used to a be a judgy childless person, before she gave birth to daughter Ramona nearly six years ago. Maggie gave a new interview to Scholastic Parent & Child where she discussed how women judge each other, specifically how women judge each other regarding child-rearing. We hear a lot about judgy mothers judging other judgy mothers. But Maggie is tapping into something we don?t hear a lot about because childless ? or childfree! ? women won?t admit to it: the fact that non-mothers often look at moms and we judge you and how you?re doing it. Maggie, a former non-mother, now says that she gets it. She gets all of it.
From the outside looking in, Maggie Gyllenhaal thought she could pick a perfect parent out of a crowd.
?I used to be judgmental of the way other people would parent,? the actress, 34, shares in Scholastic Parent & Child?s August/September issue. ?I would look at someone talking on a cell phone while her baby was asleep in a stroller and think, ?How can that mother have her cell phone out???
But shortly after the birth of daughter Ramona in 2006, as a new member of the motherhood club, Gyllenhaal found her perceptions on parenting suddenly shifting.
?Then you actually have a baby and you?re like, ?She?s sleeping; I have 10 minutes; I?ll make three phone calls,? she says. ?I think so much of my judgment ? not only about how people parent, but about people in general ? went away when I became a mom.?
Aside from her newfound approach toward other mothers, Gyllenhaal ? who in addition to Ramona, 5, is also mom to daughter Gloria Ray, 4 months, with husband Peter Sarsgaard ? also came to a realization regarding her own parenting powers.
?I was 28 when Ramona was born, and I had this idea that I think a lot of people in their twenties have, that I was supposed to do it perfectly. At least, if not perfectly, then exceptionally well,? she admits. ?I?ve realized that that isn?t possible and that part of being a human is making mistakes ? and making lots of them.?
And while Gyllenhaal understands ?the element of parenting where you have to be a mom and say no,? she is thoroughly enjoying her blossoming relationship with her mini-me, Ramona.
?The fun part is being with this little person and learning about the world and listening to her questions,? she explains. ?She comes and runs errands with me and we make it fun. When we talk, she talks like a person. She knows the words that she needs. She?ll ask me if she doesn?t. I like that.?
An advocate for a strong education ? it?s ?one of the most important gifts you can give your kids,? she states ? the Won?t Back Down star is looking forward to her daughters? intellectual futures ? with one exception!
?Besides literature, I liked history. I had trouble with math, though,? Gyllenhaal admits. ?I kind of faked my way through it. I don?t know how I?m going to help my daughters with it when the time comes.?

I judge Maggie?s weak-ass judgment! She was sitting around, judging moms who got on their cell phones? That?s it? Girl, I judge more than that before I?ve even had my breakfast.
Anyway, I?ve always kind of liked Maggie, but my affection for her grew after I saw her episode of PBS?s Finding Your Roots, in which her fascinating genealogical background was revealed (Russian Jews and Swedish royalty!). Plus, I personally like that she?s such a vocal and informed supporter of women?s reproductive rights in general and Planned Parenthood specifically. She doesn?t try to hide the fact that she?s a politically liberal New Yorker. Something tells me she still judges people.

Comedy?s biggest names are getting together to support the Malaria No More foundation.
Stars including Brooklyn Decker, Ed Helms, Ellie Kemper and Elizabeth Banks teamed up with College Humor to make a collection of ?malarious? videos to earn money for the charity.
Each video cost $1 to view on the website, and all of the proceeds earned will go directly to children suffering from the mosquito-borne disease.
Other celebrities starring in the project include David Arquette, Rainn Wilson, Aubrey Plaza, Kenan Thompson, and Josh and Scott Wolf.

Facing more relationship drama, Usher is back in court with another issue regarding his 2009 divorce.
According to TMZ, the R&B singer has been held in contempt for closing his ex-wife Tameka Foster?s Saks Fifth Avenue credit card last year.
Although the card was under the 33-year-old performer's name, Tameka claims that she cannot do her job as a stylist without having the account. As a result, the court is on her side and is demanding that Usher reopen the account.
Aside from the Saks drama, the court was also in favor of Foster?s claim that Raymond owed more than $1,300 for past due nanny bills.
At this time there has still been no settlement on the custody and support differences.
