| Gwyneth Paltrow thinks she 'rubbed people the wrong way' because of 'sexism' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Gwyneth Paltrow has been absolutely ridiculous in the first weeks of 2020. First there was her gross ass-exposing ruffled Fendi monstrosity at the Golden Globes. Then it was the Goop candle named, I kid you not, This Smells Like My Vagina. The candle sold out (at $75 a pop) and Gwyneth got all of the headlines she wanted. This candle story is like the jade-egg-up-the-vadge story: it will always be associated with Gwyneth and it will always be brought up and joked about. But the joke?s on us, because Gwyneth just keeps ?winning.? She got more traffic on Goop, and she gets to assume an air of wounded grievance, because how dare the peasants make fun of her vagina-candle stunt-queenery?
You can sniff Gwyneth Paltrow?s vagina-scented candle ? but don?t you dare take her picture! The Goop founder kindly created a $75 candle called ?This Smells Like My Vagina? so we can all get a sniff of her special sauce (or we could if the piquant product weren?t sold out). Proving her head is also up her proverbial pudenda, Paltrow made a public presentation at the National Retail Federation at the Javits Center Tuesday and promptly threw out all fotogs so she could wax lyrical to 2,000 people about her privates with privacy.
Gwynnie blamed sexism in the business world. Using an unfortunate turn of phrase, she said, ?There are different kinds of controversy. First of all, I am a huge target because I was an actress, a very visible actress, and then I decided to be a founder and entrepreneur, and I think that really rubbed people the wrong way.? What really might have rubbed others the wrong way was that infamous jade egg incident when Goop was fined $145,000 for making ?unsubstantiated? claims the product could fix hormone levels and bladder control.
Describing such malodorous moments as ?headwinds,? she continued, ?I think people have mixed reactions to me and to all women stepping outside the box that they are very comfortable with us being in and doing something else. I have been in the public eye for a long time, and I understood that was going to be something inherent in this journey. Sometimes I think of the headwinds I?ve had to face growing this business, and then I think of some male counterparts who started businesses at the same time, and it?s pretty incredible what we?ve come up against.?
Paltrow explained how she endured controversy when they made early mistakes, but there?s also ?good controversy? ? like her vagina-scented candle ? that attracts new customers. ?If you are in the news and it?s driving traffic to your site, it?s not a bad thing.?
[From Page Six]
You know how I always joke about Gwyneth thinking she invents sh-t that?s been around forever? Like, she thinks she invented yoga, juice cleanses, extreme dieting, jade eggs, vagina candles, and cooking. Well, now it seems like Gwyneth thinks she invented stunt-queening? Like, it?s very obvious what she did: pull some manufactured-controversy (like naming a candle that) and then bitch and whine about SEXISM. Goop, we see your ass. Literally.

| Camila Morrone is 'frustrated' with only being known as 'Leo DiCaprio's girlfriend' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Camila Morrone is featured in WSJ. Magazine?s ?The 10 Biggest Rising Talents in Hollywood? thing. It?s because she?s an actress, for sure, but do we really think that she would be included in these kinds of listicles if she wasn?t dating Leonardo DiCaprio? For what it?s worth not much I think Leo and Camila seem pretty happy with each other. They?ve been happening for TWO YEARS, which is great news until you realize that the only reason Camila is still happening is because they started dating when she was 20. She?s 22 now. Three more years until she ages out of Leo?s Girlfriend Experience. Sorry, those are the rules, Camila. One of the rules is also a Fight Club rule: no talking about the Girlfriend Experience. It?s a rule Camila has already broken a few times, even though she didn?t get crazy-personal. She did it again in her WSJ. Magazine profile:
Camila Morrone is opening up about the difficulties of being thrown into the spotlight ? especially when dating an A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio. The 22-year old actress ? who is featured in WSJ Magazine?s Young Hollywood Portfolio ? admitted that the attention she?s received from her relationship with DiCaprio, 45, doesn?t come without its downsides.
?More exposure leads to more judgment and negativity,? the up-and-coming actress said. ?It?s a little bit of a bummer because you?re really trying to do good work and be nice and be a good person, and in the meantime?people wish negative things upon you.?
Despite the backlash, Morrone told the outlet that she is able to keep the comments from getting to her head. ?It would never take away the joy of the craft that I get to do,? she added.
Morrone, who made a name for herself modeling before she turned to acting, said she understands why people are interested in her relationship with DiCaprio, saying, ?I probably would be curious about it, too.? Despite that, Morrone said she looks forward to a time when she begins to gain recognition for her work and talent.
?I think more and more now that people are seeing the film, I?m slowly getting an identity outside of that,? she said. ?Which is frustrating, because I feel like there should always be an identity besides who you?re dating.? She added, ?I understand the association, but I?m confident that will continue to slip away and be less of a conversation.?
[From People]
I feel a little bit bad for her, because? Leo doesn?t really do that anymore. He doesn?t date big-name actresses or big-name models since Gisele and arguably Bar Refaeli. His goal is to date lesser known young women, models or actresses, and then they build their profile as a model or actress through their association with him. I?m not sure that Leo does it consciously, or if it?s just part of his Girlfriend Experience or whatever. But that?s the way it goes, Camila. As long as she?s with Leo, she?ll always be ?Leo?s Girlfriend.? Plus, having her career take the backseat to him and his interests is what he wants too.
Here?s a question: now that Leo has been nominated across the board for OUATIH, will Camila attend any events WITH him, officially? Probably not. And that sucks too.

| Charlize Theron: It hurt my daughter's feelings when I used the wrong pronouns | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

One of Charlize Theron?s daughters happens to be transgender. At first, there was simply speculation online about Jackson Theron, because she wore Elsa-from-Frozen wigs and girls? clothes. Then Charlize began publicly identifying Jackson as her daughter, and then earlier this year, Charlize spoke about it again, saying that Jackson told her ?I am not a boy? when she was three years old. I said at the time that I appreciated Charlize?s sort of blase acceptance, but I was concerned that Charlize was telling her daughter?s story and it should really be Jackson?s choice (or whatever name the girl is going by now). Well, in a new interview with PrideSource, Charlize talks more about why she did begin to discuss her transgender daughter publicly, and a lot more this is a good read. Some highlights:
On Margot Robbie playing a conservative lesbian in ?Bombshell?: ?I wish I could take credit for that, but no. It was something that was written in the script when I got it and I thought it was really interesting and it is so interesting that people kind of go, like, ?Wait, I don?t understand.? I was like, ?You can?t understand that a conservative Jesus-loving girl could also love other women?? I?m like, isn?t that so strange?
On experimentation: ?I experimented and I did what I think every young person should do: feel brave enough and free enough in order to figure it out. It?s not like the stuff is laid out on a piece of paper for us; we have to kind of go through a life, and until you have certain experiences you don?t really know who you are. I was just lucky that I grew up in a house where my mom was never scared of those things. My mom always said, ?Figure it out. I don?t want you to be me. Go figure out what it is for you.? And I think it was because of that I got to share those things with her; when I did go on those explorations I had this person that I could share it with, that I felt safe with, who wasn?t going to judge me or label me. But it turns out ? ahh! ? that I am straight. It?s a little bit of a bummer.
Conversations about queerness with her kids: ?They?re a little too young, but we definitely have these conversations whenever they say, ?I?m gonna get married? and I?m always like, ?What is it gonna be? A boy or a girl? What is it gonna be?? I love that my kids just know that that?s a normal question to ask. One of my daughters (4-year-old August) is convinced that she?s gonna be married five times and it?s gonna be three boys and two girls, and I just love that she has the freedom to think that way. God knows what it?s going to be, but I love that she feels safe enough to explore in her little-girl brain that anything is possible and that she?s gonna go and discover that for herself.
On her daughter who happens to be transgender: ?Well, this is all pretty new for us? My daughter?s story is really her story, and one day, if she chooses, she?ll tell her story. I feel like as her mother, for me, it was important to let the world know that I would appreciate it if they would use the right pronouns for her. I think it became harder for us the older she got that people were still writing about her in the wrong pronouns, and also I was still talking about her in the press using the wrong pronoun. It really hurt her feelings. I don?t want to be that mom, and that was really why I said what I said a while back I haven?t really talked about it ever since, again, because outside of just asking that respectfully of the press ? and the world, hopefully ? the rest is really private and it?s her story, and it?s really up to her to decide if she wants to share that.
[From PrideSource]
That?s one of the best answers to why she said something and why she won?t be talking more about her daughter. Jackson got to the age where she was aware of what Charlize said about her and how Charlize publicly identified her and that mattered. Charlize is such a good mom. I really mean that she?s a single mother with a lot of help from HER mother, and she?s figuring it out as she goes along. She?s doing a good job.

| Nicolas Cage thinks everyone should watch 'Marriage Story' | Added 4 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Academy award winning actor Nicolas Cage has a new movie coming out, Color Out of Space. It?s a modern adaptation of the H. P. Lovecraft short story and even though it has Tommy Chong in the Ammi Pierce role, the trailer isn?t doing it for me. However, Nicolas is doing press for it, so he went to Extra to promote Marriage Story. Uhm, Nic? I think you?ve forgotten how this works. Nicolas brought up the nominated film because he thinks anyone who is divorcing should see it to get a better understanding of how family law works against you in the process.
Nicolas Cage is a fan of the Oscar-nominated movies this year, but he?s got his eye on a particular film.
The actor, 56, spoke to Extra while at the Wednesday night premiere of his new film Color Out of Space and showed his support for Noah Baumbach?s divorce drama Marriage Story.
?I think that?s a very important movie,? Cage said. ?I think anyone who?s even considering divorce ? and the families ? it should be required viewing.?
The star, who has been divorced four times, added, ?Having been through it, family law is absolutely the worst.?
[From People]
I?m not considering divorce, but I did watch Marriage Story. It?s a good film and the acting is as good as everyone says (with apologies to Kaiser, Laura Dern was fantastic. So was Merritt Weaver). I watched the movie, in part, because of how much press it got, but mainly because I am an Alan Alda stan (probably not the reason you were expecting). I did not care for it. But I didn?t care for it because it was fairly realistic, which made it so depressing. I kept emailing CB telling her how much the film was bringing me down and then ignored her repeated suggestions to maybe not watch something that was bumming me out so much.
However, to Nicolas?s point, it is a good example of the divorce process from a legal perspective. As you know, I come from a family of lawyers, three of whom were divorce or family law so although I am far from an expert, I?m familiar with the legal tactics involved. Nicolas is practically an expert as he has had four marriages, ranging from 12 years to four days. Three of his marriages ended in divorce and one was annulled. He also has two children, one born out of wedlock and one born in wedlock (I only mention the wedlock part because it has different legal ramifications under family law). Two of his wives, Patricia Arquette and Lisa Marie Presley, came into the marriage with their own wealth/assets that needed protection. My point is, Nicolas has seen Marriage Story played out from every angle, so perhaps we should heed his advice, although my hope is that no one here needs it.
