They haven?t been spotted together in quite some time, but the paparazzi finally caught up with Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner in Los Angeles, CA earlier today (April 12).
The ?Town? actor and his ?Valentine?s Day? wife both looked cute and casual as they checked out some potential new schools for their daughters, Violet and Seraphina.
Up ahead for Jen, she is set to begin work on her next project in which she will be starring as a younger Miss Marple in Disney?s reboot of the Agatha Christie mystery series.
Aside from starring in the film, Garner will also be found behind the camera producing alongside her Vandalia Films partner, Juliana Janes.

Stepping out with her significant other by her side, Katie Couric was spotted leaving her New York City apartment earlier today (April 12).
The 53-year-old, who just released her new book "The Best Advice I Ever Got," was all smiles during the casual Big Apple outing while wearing a white sweatshirt and blue jeans.
After the recent announcement of her departure from the "CBS Evening News," Katie has thrown her support behind an upcoming feature documentary on obesity.
There is no word on what Couric's role will be in the project, but her spokesperson offered this to press, "Katie is being supportive of the project because she cares about the issue (of obesity)."

Readying herself to become the next queen of daytime TV, Nicole Richie has begun work on the pilot for her own daily talk show.
A friend close to the 29-year-old told InTouch, "Nicole loves the idea of hosting her own show. She sees herself as the next Oprah."
When asked about the possible competition, "The View" co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck offered these kind words about the former "Simple Life" star, ?I think she?s lovely. I think she?s the most wonderful woman. I have a feeling she can do anything.?
Details of the show's concept have been scarce, but the Richie insider promised fashion, celebrities and parenting tips, adding, "She'll share her own struggles and victories in hopes of helping others."

So, even though I put these new photos of Scarlett Johansson (go to The Superficial to see them) in yesterday?s links, everybody was yelling at CB and I this morning, asking us why we haven?t covered THE EARTH-SHATTERING NEWS that ScarJo went for a jog with Sean Penn and Owen Wilson, and Scar looked kind of pregnant while doing so. CB and I talked about it and since we don?t have access to the photos, and because we thought it was more likely that ScarJo simply had a little chunk rather than SHE?S KNOCKED UP!!! we just decided to skip it. But here I am writing about it anyway. Because ScarJo?s poor rep had to deny it, because apparently no one thought to ask themselves, ?Hey, Scar and Sean have been together less than two months, if she?s ?pregnant? why is she ?showing?? Maybe she?s just gained a little weight and there?s nothing to freak out about??
Another day, another false baby alarm. Scarlett Johansson went jogging with beau Sean Penn near his Malibu, Calif. home on Sunday. And while fans have grown used to seeing the hot new couple (who’ve slowly gone public with their romance) out and about together, there was something new about Johansson, 26: a baby bump?!
Nuh-uh, her rep tells UsMagazine.com.
“Scarlett is not pregnant,” the rep says in a statement.
What about that supposed “bump” that appears in the photos?
“She’s outside running and it’s simply the placement of her shirt that is misleading,” the rep explains.
“She’s been training for The Avengers for over four months and is in the best shape of her life.”
Meanwhile, Johansson and Penn, 50, are stronger than ever. The Iron Man 2 actress took Penn as her date to Reese Witherspoon’s recent nuptials — and they made out at a local bar afterwards.
And Penn has the support of at least one ex. “They’re great together!” Sports Illustrated model Jessica White, who dated Penn in 2009 and 2010, said recently. “Sean is a really lovely man…[he] needs a good woman in his life.”

Um, yeah. ScarJo is not in the best shape of her life. The girl gained a little weight, and it?s fine and she still has a great body, but please don?t blatantly lie to me and tell me she?s in amazing shape.
Also - I’ll buy that Scar is in a Penn dong haze, but I won’t buy that she would A) Get knocked up by Sean or B) If she did get knocked up, that she would keep the baby.

The 20-year-old told of the worldwide frenzy surrounding the bride-to-be, "Poor girl, that must be an incredible amount of pressure.I hope she's enjoying it. Must be intense."
The "Harry Potter" star has been planted in the public eye herself for the past eleven years as she transitioned from a pint-size child star to the award-winning film actress she is today.
Back in August of last year, a simple trip to the hairdresser that resulted in Emma's current pixie cut created such a buzz that the move landed her locks in international headlines.

The E! reality television starlets both looked sporty as they chatted while ignoring the swarming shutterbugs nearby.
As for the recent controversy surrounding Kim?s picture on the cover of Cosmopolitan magazine?s Turkish edition, she addressed the ordeal on her website.
Kim wrote, "I just found out today that I am on the cover of Cosmopolitan Magazine in Turkey this month. Cosmopolitan Magazine has a number of international editions all around the world that run in various territories, and when I did this shoot for the international covers I had no idea that Turkey was planning to turn my story on their cover THIS month, considering Genocide Remembrance Day is this month."
"My Armenian heritage means a lot to me and I've been brought up to be incredibly proud of my family's background and culture. So as an Armenian-American woman it is a huge honor for me to be on the first ever Armenian Cosmopolitan cover."

She?s been desperate to revive her acting career, and earlier today Lindsay Lohan was at a press conference for the new biopic ?Gotti: Three Generations.?
During the event, LiLo was rumored to having landed the role of Victoria Gotti after supposedly beating out contenders Blake Lively and Sienna Miller.
Of the film, producer Marc Fiore told press, "This is not a movie; this is part of American history. We have the exclusive story for first time ever told by John Gotti Junior and his family."
Fiore also noted, "Lindsay is a terrific actress. Nothing has been finalized, but we are definitely in talks."

I think the last time I wrote about Emma Roberts, I tried to be cautious because I didn?t know how many of you felt about her. Turns out I was walking on eggshells for no reason - many of you passionately dislike the girl. She does seem to be quite the pill, and you know what? She?s only going to get worse. Thankfully, I doubt she?s ever going to be as big of a star as her Aunt Julia. Even those who dislike Julia ?THAT?S SO TACKY? Roberts have to admit that Julia has (or had) ?It?. She was a Star. You could see that from her early films, you could see it when she walked (trotted?) the red carpet - Julia had that elusive quality where you just wanted to watch her because you knew she would be interesting. Her niece? well, Emma does not have that quality. Emma is pretty, boring girl who thinks she?s God?s gift, and girls like that are a dime a dozen.
Anyway, Emma covers the new issue of Seventeen Magazine. She?s promoting her role in Scream 4, where I think she?s like the fifth or sixth lead. This is what Aunt Julia?s pull gets her niece? The sixth lead in the fourth installment horror film? For shame! Anyway, the Seventeen interview is super-boring because Emma only talks in Oprah-esque feel-good soundbytes that mean nothing. The full Seventeen piece is here, and here are some highlights:
On being 20 years old: “Turning 20 made me realize that I want to be young and have fun. When I was 16, I was very frustrated all the time. I felt like nobody understood me. School was stressful, working was stressful, and it’s a really tough time for girls to be friends. I felt like I was always in a rush to get somewhere, when I had no idea where that was. Now I just feel content, and I feel like that’s a nice place to be. I’ve learned that I want to have great people in my life and lots of love in my life, and just enjoy it. I wish I had realized that sooner.”
On feeling sexy, and boobs: ?Sexy when I was younger always meant boobs, and I’ve never had boobs in my life - so I always felt that sexy was out of the question for me. I used to really want to be that kind of voluptuous girl, and I’ve just kid of embraced that I’m not.”
Emma on her future husband: ?Sometimes when I?m going to sleep, I think, ?Oh God, my future husband is out there somewhere and I might know him, or I might not, and I wonder what he?s doing and I wonder if he knows me.? I just always think that?s so fascinating, that even when you were two years old, your future husband was out there somewhere.?
She writes too: ?I write, just to do it for me, because I know, when I?m older, I?ll want to look back and know what was going on in my mind. I look back on journals that I had when I was 15, and it?s so interesting to see that the things that I thought were the end of the world at 15, I barely remember now.?
On the party scene: ?I like to go to parties if I know who?s going to be there, and if it?s people I want to be with. I don?t just go to go. And I always drive myself, because I hate being stuck places?there?s nothing worse that going out and then being stuck!?
On living alone: ?You don?t realize how hard it is to live on your own. But there?s no mom to do your laundry, and make you dinner and to do things for you, and you don?t think about little things like buying paper towels and salt. So moving out was definitely a shock. But I still have sleepovers with my mom sometimes because I miss her so much.?
On never asking boys about fashion: ?I never ask boys? opinions on clothes, ever. I really think, unless you think the guy has style, don?t ask. So I only ask my girl friends. I don?t trust guys? opinions on style!?
She?s young enough to believe this: ?When it comes to love, always be open. Because the second you?re not pining after a boy, or a boyfriend, amazing love comes into your life.?
She doesn?t understand boys: ?Boys these days don?t really pursue girls. I think they sit back and let girls come to them. And I don?t understand how, if you have feelings for someone, you don?t want to pursue her, and make her feel great about herself!?

I mean? yeah, she?s young. Really young. Younger than most 20 year olds, I would suspect. Oooh, you know who she would just get along with SO WELL? Taylor Swift. They could be immature and talk about boys and glitter together. Except that I kind of expect that two such immature little girls would end up having some kind of terrible bitch-fight if you put them in the same room.
One last thing - Emma?s most recent ?rumored boyfriend? is Chace Crawford. Sure. I could see that. Why not just go for Blake Lively?s castoffs and go for Penn Badgley? Or if you just wanted to get laid by someone gross, sexy and furry, I would totally go for Ed Westwick. But girls that age don?t understand the pull of Westwick. Sigh?

They suggest:
1. Apply a matte foundation all over your face.
2. Draw a thick line on your top eyelids with liquid eyeliner.
3. Add a warm brown shadow to your eyelids, up to the crease.
4. Finish eyes with black mascara.
5. Add a Pink blush to the apples of your cheeks, blending outwards across your cheekbones.

Last night was the New York premiere of The Conspirator, after this past weekend?s Washington, D.C. premiere. Robin Wright, the star of the film (she plays Mary Surratt), is going though a skinny-pantsuit phase. I didn?t care for yesterday?s funky gray suit, but I?m kind of liking this white Julien Macdonald one. The jacket is awesome, but the pants? well, I?m not a skinny pants person. I would enjoy seeing this suit with straight-leg pants. But as for Robin?s face? it?s exquisite. Just gorgeous. And I love that it looks real and untouched.

The ?Unfaithful? actress and the ?Sopranos? star showed up at the Paramount Theater for the HBO-hosted shindig, posing together for the paparazzi.
According to a press release, ??Cinema Verite? tells the behind-the-scenes story of the groundbreaking 12-hour PBS documentary series ?An American Family,? which chronicled the lives of the Louds in the early 1970s and catapulted the Santa Barbara family to notoriety while creating a new genre: the reality TV series.?
?Cinema Verite? looks to be quite the undertaking, and also stars Patrick Fugit, Thomas Dekker, Tim Robbins, and Kathleen Quinlan.

These are some new photos of Tina Fey exiting the Ed Sullivan Theatre last night after taping a show with David Letterman. These are the first photos I?ve seen where Tina?s bump is really obvious. I?m really happy for her - she?s got it all! Happily married, one happy, healthy daughter and another baby on the way, a great career in television and film, and now a bestselling book, Bossypants. How does Tina juggle it all? As it Fey reminds the reader time and time again in Bossypants, not well. Apparently, there?s even a charming story about Oprah telling Tina that she shouldn?t be over-scheduling so much.
It?s also just been announced that Tina is going to host Saturday Night Live yet again - she?ll be the host for the May 7, the day before Mother?s Day. It should be a good one - Tina always gets the best writing when she?s on.
In other Fey news, a few days ago, (female) writer Curtis Sittenfeld wrote a piece for The New York Times about Tina Fey?s ?place in the sisterhood? and whether or not Tina?s ?girly? hilarity compares to the more traditional male-dominated humor-industrial complex. Singer Toni Braxton declared bankruptcy for the second time in October, listing debts from $10 to $50 million to multiple personal creditors including Neiman Marcus, Tiffanys, The IRS, BMW, and The Four Seasons Hotel. She also owed money to hospitals and for medical bills, and according to Toni that’s why she became bankrupt. In a new video in which she answers user-submitted questions to the Huffington Post, Toni said that her medical issues with Lupus led her to pull out of her Vegas tour, and that she declared bankruptcy so that business creditors “couldn’t come and sue me for the show that I couldn’t complete.”
Everyone talks about my financial issues. What they don’t know is that my health is what led to my financial troubles. Everyone talks ’she spent her money.’ That’s so not true, I don’t think [people] understand the bankruptcy rules and the laws, it’s to protect you. So once I got ill and had to cancel my Vegas show, all my concerts I had to file bankruptcy so I would be an protected so everyone wouldn’t come and sue me for the show that I couldn’t complete.
Everyone says ‘Oh she spent all her money, she has to lower her spending habits. It’s so not true.

Many years ago I worked as a consultant for a company that declared bankruptcy and stiffed me out of over $5,000 that I really needed to make ends meet at the time. I understood that the company needed to declare bankruptcy to stay in business, but they screwed everyone including the lowly consultants who had already done work for them, not just the large creditors who could afford not to get paid. That’s the thing that gets me about “bankruptcy,” everyone gets stiffed. Toni did it twice, once 12 years ago and again last year. While I understand that she may have needed protection after her health affected her ability to work - does that mean she gets all her loans for jewelry, high end clothing, and her car forgiven too? Why was she getting those things on credit instead of paying for them with money she already had? (The luxury goods I mean, I understand getting a car loan, although she could have bought something outright with the type of money she makes.) She didn’t pay her parking tickets in multiple states for God’s sake. That’s not something that has to do with “business,” that’s a personal failure to take responsibility for her bills. I understand bankruptcy when people lose their jobs due to health issues, but this is a millionaire who did it twice and is blaming the second time on business reasons. Meanwhile she never could be bothered to put a $15 check in the mail for any of her parking tickets. I’m sorry that she has lupus along with her heart problems and had to go through all that though. She also has a son with autism, although she says he’s doing well and is in public school.

"I think he's doing a great job. He's so talented, obviously. He's proven himself as a comedian over the years, starting with Saturday Night Live. We got our wish list on this movie cast-wise. We wanted to have the best people possible for the parts, and we got Jason Segel, we got Justin Timberlake, we got Phyllis Smith.?
"Being able to have these amazing comedians and all of the other wonderful actors and comedians who colorfully occupy these characters around us is really, really fun. I feel we scored on our cast members for this movie."

The ?Shakespeare in Love? actress looked snazzy in a white dress with beige heels as she strolled past the paparazzi.
With Jay-Z, Martha Stewart, Jerry Seinfeld and Mario Batali all in attendance, Paltrow reportedly cooked up a storm for her famous guests.
As for Gwyneth's duet with Morrison, ?Somewhere Over The Rainbow? is available on iTunes today and it?s getting killer reviews already.
Matthew told press, "I'm going on a world tour this summer, and I'm hoping maybe in London she'll [Gwyneth] come on stage and help me out with a song."

For quite some time, I was concerned (as were we all) about Evan Rachel Wood, mostly due to her on-off-relationship with Marilyn Manson that lasted four years and eventually ended in a broken engagement. These days, I don’t worry so much about her, for the 23-year old actress seems remarkably resilient after spending a significant (4-year) chunk of her life with, well, the likes of Marilyn Manson. How she made it through the ordeal without some serious PTSD is beyond me, but even during the height of that horrific-looking relationship, Wood was always known for her professionalism and lack of starlet behavior. Refreshing, isn’t it?
Soon, Wood shall be co-starring in The Ides of March with George Clooney, and the girl can even pull off the most fug outfits on the red carpet (as she did at The Conspirator premiere). Meanwhile, she’s winning rave reviews for her performance in Mildred Pierce. Since I don’t have HBO, I’ve not yet watched Pierce, but CB thinks that Wood is great at playing a character that is “truly evil and conniving” in the miniseries. Oh, and remember all of that talk of the merkin affair? Well, you can see that (obviously NSFW) hot merkin action right here if you’re curious.
Wood recently sat down with NyMag to discuss all of her current projects, and the interview took a very enlightening turn towards the topic of exactly why she dated Manson in the first place:
On Impressing Redford: At Evan Rachel Wood’s first meeting with Robert Redford, who was looking to cast her as a Confederate daughter in his Lincoln-assassination drama, The Conspirator (out April 15), the actress fixed her gaze on him intently enough that Redford later told her, “?’You were so intimidating, I had no idea what you were thinking.’ ” Wood exults at the memory. “I was, like, Yeeessss!” she says, performing a reverse elbow-jack to the torso. “I got Redford.”
On Her Role As Veda Pierce: “It’s the hardest role I’ve ever had to do, ever, absolutely,” says Wood, who–even though she wasn’t doing her own singing–trained for months with an opera coach, just to get the breathing and gestures right. Guy Pearce, who shared a trailer with Wood, could hear her practicing her vocals daily. “All I wanted to do was stick my head in and say, Do you mind if I watch?” he says. When they reviewed footage, he says, “Kate and I were looking at each other, and Todd and Kate were looking at one another, going, ‘Oh, wow.’ ”
On Why She Dated Manson: Wood’s own mother was an actress who, upon divorcing her husband when Evan was 9, moved to L.A. and quit acting to become a drama coach and concentrate on her daughter?s career. During the filming of Thirteen, Wood had to banish her from the set in order to shoot some of the R-rated scenes, and when she was 18, she moved to New York to put some physical distance between them. “We had a bad breakup,” she says. “We hadn’t been apart for more than a week my whole life. We shared a room, we shared a bed. She was constantly by my side, all the time, until the minute I turned 18. I hopped on [Marilyn Manson's] tour bus, and was like, I’m going to have an adolescence.” As mother-estrangement maneuvers go, appearing in a rock video in which you are doused in gore while making out with your goth boyfriend is hard to beat. “I didn’t really get a normal childhood,” says Wood. “Manson gave me what I felt I’d missed out on, where you get to experiment and cut loose and change and grow. I lived 50 lifetimes in those four years.”
On Her Alleged Bieber Fever: “I’m really enjoying being single and concentrating on work right now. That and watching the Food Network and listening to Justin Bieber,” she says, showing off her purple Bieber hat, as sure a sign as any that her Manson years are over. “People honestly think I?m kidding about Bieber,” she says. “My mom is so confused. She’s like, ‘Evan, really?’ I’m like, ‘Go see Never Say Never. You’ll understand.’ “

Okay, now the Manson relationship makes a bit more sense considering the revelations of Wood’s fairly stifling family situation. Thank goodness she finally woke up and dumped that “shock rocker” loser. I’m still having a hard time believing that she’s truly knocking back with Bieber music in her spare time. How is that even possible? Maybe she’s just messing with all of us.

Taylor Swift recently got back from a quickie tour in Europe, as you could probably tell from the multiple photo op sightings of Swifty over the past few weeks. For some reason, I wouldn?t think that Swifty?s? er, ?talent? would translate to other countries very well. I mean, I get why American girls like her music, and more importantly, I get why those girls? moms like Swifty?s music, but it seems like Swifty isn?t really singing to a global audience. Maybe I?m wrong. Maybe she?s huge in Amsterdam, Paris and Prague (?). Anyway, while she?s on tour, she doing press here and there, and now we?ve got a new interview she did with The Telegraph. I?ll admit it, at this point, I?m totally over Swifty. But she said a few things in this piece that made me like her, especially when she talked about her fans. I?ll give her an enormous amount of credit for that alone: this girl respects her fans, and she takes time for her fans. I totally respect that. Of course, the songs about boys and ponies and how many times she got dumped over the phone? I don?t respect that. The full Telegraph piece is here, and here are some excerpts:
‘I always write songs about my life,? says Taylor Swift. ‘And if you?re horrible to me I?m going to write a song about you and you are not going to like it. That?s how I operate. I?m the only person who knows who [my songs] really are about and there?s comfort in that,? she says with a hint of a smile.
On not wanting to promote a ?sexy? image: ‘I don?t want people to think of me as sexy. It wasn?t a career decision? it?s just a life decision. I like wearing pretty dresses and I like trying out new styles but I don?t feel comfortable taking my clothes off. I wouldn?t wear tiny amounts of clothing in my real life so I don?t think it?s necessary to wear that stuff in photo-shoots.? Do people ever try to talk her into it? ‘Not anymore, no.?
Meeting with fans for hours at a time: ‘I?ve had some hilarious conversations in those meet-and-greet lines,? she says, laughing. ‘I?ve met many of the girls more than once. I mean, I?ve been on tour since I was 16 and I always do meet-and-greets before and after shows so you kind of build these friendships with people. I have girls come up to me and tell me exactly what?s going on in their love lives. They always come out with these bold confessions, like? ? Swift puts on the voice of a wronged, righteous woman ? ‘?I?m so glad I?m at your concert tonight. My boyfriend just left me.?? What do you say to that? ‘Um? Well, I?ll commiserate with them but it depends how they said it and how all right they seem. If they seem like they?re really upset about it then you?ve gotta give them a hug.? Have you given many hugs? ‘Yes!?
Keeping up with fans: Her MySpace page has had 116,878,768 visitors and she has 18,869,687 Facebook ‘friends?. Does she have people looking after the sites for her? ‘No, it?s just me,? she says, laughing when she sees my incredulous stare. ‘Yeah. I spend a bit of time online every day but it?s worth it because that?s how [the fans and I] keep in touch. And what else am I doing? I?m jet-lagged every single day and awake at 4am, so??
Getting a job as a songwriter at the age of 14: Sony/ATV Tree asked her to join its writing team, composing songs for its artists. So her family upped sticks: her father, who is a stockbroker, her mother, who is a housewife (’But,? Swift says, ’she was a working professional before that, so my parents are both really smart people?) and her younger brother, Austin, all said goodbye to Pennsylvania. She now lives ‘two blocks away from Music Row and I drive those streets every day. It?s so crazy to think that now things are a lot different.?
Needing to be in control: She doesn?t drink - ‘I worry I might come off in a way that I can?t control.? It?s also why she doesn?t raise her voice ? ‘If you?re yelling you?re the one who?s lost control of the conversation? ? and it?s the reason she called her last album ‘Speak Now?.
On her privacy: ‘I don?t typically talk in great detail about my personal life in interviews,? she says, ‘but this album reveals a lot about my life in the last two years, things that people didn?t necessarily know before it came out. So if you?re not saying anything about certain details in interviews but you?re saying it in an album?? You?re choosing when and where to speak? ‘Yes. So calling it ?Speak Now? seemed appropriate.?

Wait, isn?t Swifty?s mom super-involved in her life? Yeah, her mom is his momager, managing Swifty?s every burp, fart and song about ponies, boys and glitter. Her mom even gets a say in boyfriends, and The Jake Gyllenhaal Cuddlefest Debacle might have even been Mother Swifty?s doing. Oh, momager. Are you ever a good idea?
Oh, and this is just a random observation that I finally realized - Swifty weara false eyelashes ALL THE TIME. Like, as daywear, nightwear, going to the grocery store, she?s always wearing false eyelashes and pastel eyeshadow. THAT is what gives her the heavy-lidded, sneaky, contemptuous look (that I attribute to her).

The outing comes just after Vanessa addressed her nude photo debacles in an interview with the LA Times, as the 22-year-old said, "It's just silly because I'm a very present person, and that's the thing that has been so in the past."
Hudgens continued, "The fact that somebody keeps bringing up the past is just selfish. I mean, it sucks. I already released a statement the first time it happened. It's just unfortunate that it keeps reminding people about the past and not the present."

Responding to the 89-year-old's comments, Lohan shot back in a chat with E!, "Wow! I've always been a fan of hers. It's just a bit strange when people feel they must speak publicly about others. Especially a grown woman."
