Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund are not ?together? anymore. Officially now. They dated throughout 2019 and 2020, and she gave birth to their son Rhodes in December 2020. During her pregnancy, she was already giving off single-mother vibes, and I?m not saying that in a bad way at all. Her vibe was: I?m having this baby with or without Garrett, and he can participate in this as much as he wants, it?s up to him. Garrett was around for some of it, it seemed like. Throughout 2021, there were rumors that they were already on the outs, and last November, Emma was holding hands with Cade Hudson at Paris Hilton?s wedding. It absolutely seems like Emma and Garrett were totally done at some point last year, but here they are, confirming it at long last:
Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund have called it quits, PEOPLE confirms. Multiple sources tell PEOPLE that the pair broke things off a few weeks ago, following a rocky few months in their relationship.
Its sad, and they are trying their best to co-parent. Its been hard, an insider says.
Reps for Roberts and Hedlund did not immediately respond to PEOPLEs request for comment.
The pairs split comes after they celebrated their son Rhodes Roberts first birthday last month with a rodeo-themed party.
Loved every second of it. I love you Rhodes, the proud mom, 30, wrote at the time.
She and Hedlund, 37, whom she began dating in March 2019, welcomed Rhodes in December 2020 and then shared the babys first photo and his name in January. Thank you 2020 for getting one thing right, she wrote. Our bright light Rhodes Robert Hedlund.
A source previously told PEOPLE that Hedlund totally stepped it up to support Roberts after they welcomed their first son in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Well, that?s that. I forgot that Rhodes has her surname too, he?s not Rhodes Hedlund. As I said, she was already acting like a single mom when she was pregnant. She always knew that she was basically going to raise her son alone.
Meanwhile, just before Garrett and Emma conceived Rhode, Garrett got two DUI charges and went through some kind of rehab program. One of those DUI charges was for a car crash on January 24, 2020, when he passed out behind the wheel of his car, ran a red light and got into a head-on collision with another car. Two women were in the second car: Marina Venegas and her daughter, Jennifer Castillo. They?re now suing Garrett for negligence. Considering the DUI charges and the police report, I?d say they probably have a pretty good case.

Garrett and Emma began dating in 2019, and she got pregnant in 2020. She and Garrett tried to put a bow on it and they were together before they welcomed their son Rhodes just after Christmas 2020. Over 2021, there have been whispers that they broke up, but again, no one confirmed anything. And here?s Emma, holding hands with Cade Hudson at Paris Hilton?s wedding.
Emma Roberts attended friend Paris Hilton?s wedding on Thursday noticeably without partner Garrett Hedlund, 36. The 30-year-old actress entered the event holding hands with Cade Hudson, aka Britney Spears? longtime manager. The Scream Queens star walked into the Bel Air locale with her friend wearing a stunning black tulle spaghetti strap dress and a black tuxedo jacket over her shoulders.
Although they like to keep their relationship pretty low-key, Emma and Garrett have been spotted a few times since welcoming their child, Rhodes, together last Dec. 27. Rumors of their potential split, however, have made the rounds, as numerous social media detectives noticed the pair both unfollowed each other on Instagram, per the Daily Mail.

I actually respect the way Emma handled all of this sh-t with Garrett, I have to say (and I don?t even like her). She didn?t marry him, she made it clear that she would have the baby regardless of his involvement, they were ?together? throughout her pregnancy and then whatever happened this year, they kept it quiet. As for Cade Hudson? he?s nice looking and tall, that?s all I?ve got. Interesting that Emma is seeing someone behind-the-scenes in management and not another actor. PS? I glanced through Emma?s Instagram and there are no photos of Garrett or Cade. On social media, she acts like a single mother (which is probably the truth).

If you could change your birthday, would you? I feel like a lot of people born around Christmas and New Year?s probably would change their birthdays, just because their b-days often get lost in the holiday shuffle. I was born in September my birthday would get lost in the shuffle of ?back to school? and Labor Day. Still, I like my September birthday, and maybe Christmas babies love their birthdays too. So it is for Rhodes Hedlund, the newborn son of Emma Roberts and Garrett Hedlund, who was born on December 27th.

The Holidate star gave birth on Sunday, Dec. 27 in Los Angeles, sources told TMZ. Emma and Garrett reportedly named the newborn Rhodes.

The 15-person baby shower was a bad idea, but I believe it was held outdoors, for whatever that?s worth. I covered Emma?s Cosmo interview and I was surprised by how chilled out she seemed during her pregnancy. I took that as a good sign, a hopeful sign that she felt like she would be fine no matter what happened, especially since Garrett seems like a mess. Garrett got a DUI in January for driving while blackout-level drunk, and he completed a 30-day rehab program soon after. Which means the timeline of the conception is probably that Emma got pregnant right after Garrett got out of rehab. Which is a red flag, truly. But I hope everything is okay and? yeah. That?s all I?ll say. I don?t like the name Rhodes Hedlund, but it?s not my baby. It?s a really clunky name, right? Maybe they?ll call him Rho Hedlund?

I wonder if Garrett has proposed to Emma now that she?s pregnant. A lot of men do, don?t @ me. And honestly, it?s not like they were just friends-with-benefits and this happened out of nowhere. I honestly forgot about them, and I guess I kind of figured that it was just a hook-up thing and that they would burn out. I always thought that Garrett probably wasn?t ready to settle down, and maybe he had some qualms about fatherhood. I?ve never seen Garrett on those shopping trips! I wonder if they?re living together. I wonder if they?re quarantining together. I wonder how far along she is. I have to admit something though if I was a professional actress, model or athlete, I would want to be pregnant right now. It?s like those public figures have been given a year off where there?s no work to be done, no competitions to be had, no diets to maintain and their full-time job can be ?sitting at home and being low-key.? I totally blanked out on the fact that Emma Roberts ?homewrecked? Rachel Bilson and Hayden Christensen back in 2017. I have no memory of that, probably because that tea was spilled in the middle of the Harvey Weinstein/sex-predatorgate situation. Emma was reportedly the reason why Rachel and Hayden are no longer together, because Rachel found texts between Hayden and Emma and they were bad enough that Rachel dumped Hayden right then and there. But for years now, Emma has had an on-and-off relationship with Evan Peters, the same boyfriend she was accused of assaulting back in 2013. She was even briefly arrested, although she was never charged and she always claimed the whole thing was one big misunderstanding (a misunderstanding that left Evan with a bloody nose). Anyway, I think we?ve established the fact that Emma?s love life is? um, complicated. Dramatic, perhaps even violently so. And now it looks like she?s dating Garrett Hedlund. OH NO.

Garrett Hedlund has always struck me as more of a no-drama kind of guy like, he?s not the kind of guy who is compulsively drawn to the most high-strung women out there (you know the type). He was with Kirsten Dunst for years and they were so low-key about it. I still believe that the only reason they broke up was because she wanted to get married and have Hedlund babies and he wasn?t ready. So? I imagine that he would have a low tolerance for women like Emma Roberts, but you never know.
