| FYI: Ivanka Trump was never there to be a 'moderating influence' on her father | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

This is a sideshow story to the real story of Donald Trump pulling America out of the Paris Climate Accord. But we still have to talk about it, because there are still some people out there who want to believe in Precious Ivanka Trump. They want to believe that she?s a good – or at least moderating – influence on her father. They want to believe that she?s more than just his enabler, more than just a complicit, baby-whispering a–hole. She is not. She is complicit. She is little more than her father?s enabler. Ivanka has to take the L for what happened this week too, because she actually tried to use her questionable influence to change her father?s mind on the Paris Climate Accord. And she failed.
During her father?s presidential transition, Ivanka Trump hauled Al Gore into Trump Tower to discuss climate change with Donald Trump. She sat down with actor and activist Leonardo DiCaprio, who gave her a copy of his climate-change documentary, ?Before the Flood.? She told friends and associates that she was picking and choosing the issues where, as a one-time Democrat, she might be able to influence her father. Climate change was on the list.
On Thursday, in a peppy Rose Garden ceremony that included a brass band, Trump announced he was withdrawing from the Paris climate accords ? a fulfillment of a campaign promise, but also a major blow to global efforts to combat climate change. After she organized five weeks of meetings focused on the Paris agreement ? including her own sit-down with EPA administrator Scott Pruitt and enlisting people like Apple CEO Tim Cook to speak to the president about climate ? Ivanka Trump appeared to have lost on one of the issues where she at one point expected to hold some sway.
?I was elected to represent the citizens of Pittsburgh ? not Paris!? a defiant Trump proclaimed, pitching his decision as a move that ?represents a re-assertion of American sovereignty.?
Ivanka Trump and her husband, Jared Kushner, have taken the defeat in stride, according to two people familiar with their thinking on the issue. Their view of their roles in the White House is that they’re playing the long game, helping the president to be successful. And they don’t tally their own influence day-by-day or bill-by-bill. But they were notably absent from the row of top aides gathered in front of the podium for the announcement. There, Trump’s top political strategist Steve Bannon, who has clashed with Kushner in the past and had been pressing Trump to withdraw from the climate change agreement, smiled happily under the beating sun.
Ivanka Trump was out of the office observing the Jewish holiday of Shavuot, a White House official said. Kushner walked to the White House after attending synagogue in the morning for a long-standing meeting that was on his schedule before Trump?s remarks were put together, and he also did not attend the Rose Garden event. But the White House official said Kushner was ?fully involved with the process of the announcement.?
[From Politico]
Here?s my real question: if Ivanka can?t actually influence her father, why the f–k is she there? She might as well pack her bags and move her family back to New York. Oh, right. You mean that she was never there to actually influence policy and moderate her father?s most unhinged views? You mean she was always there just to be the chipmunk-veneered, baby-whispering catface of fascism? Oh, right.
Meanwhile, the walls are closing in on Precious Ivanka?s husband, Precious Jared. It?s all very complicated, but please read the latest on The Mystery of Why Jared Kushner Spends So Much Time With Russians and Russian Bankers. It is going to feel so sweet when Precious Jared is frog-marched away in handcuffs.

| Tori Spelling ordered to pay $220k in default ruling after not showing up to court | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Celebrity money problems somewhat fascinate me. I say this as someone who drives a ten year old car with sh-tty air conditioning (I?m planning to trade it in this summer for a newer used car) and shops at Goodwill. Sometimes I splurge on shoes or a purse and I definitely go out to dinner too much but overall I live within my means. So Tori Spelling, who could be living large but still reasonably given her income, is deep in debt. Her bank accounts were recently drained by the IRS so I doubt she has any liquid assets whatsoever. In order to have your accounts seized you have to have ignored multiple attempts by the IRS to contact and work with you on a repayment plan. So just keep that in mind when you hear that a default judgment was ordered against Tori for nonpayment to one of her other many creditors. She didn?t even bother to show up to court or hire a lawyer to represent her. How deep in denial do you have to be to do this? She took out a 400k loan in 2010 and owes a bunch on that and is also almost $17k overdrawn on her account.
E! News has obtained the court documents in which a judge ruled they will now have to pay off a $220,000 default judgment.
The ruling came after the couple missed a subpoenaed court appearance last week regarding the couple’s on-going legal battle with City National Bank, who is suing them after they allegedly failed to pay off a $400,000 loan from 2010.
According to the docs, Tori and Dean failed to pay $185,714 plus an additional $2,407 in interest and $681 in late charges for a total of $188,803 from the 2010 loan. Additionally, the bank is asking Tori for $17,149, which she allegedly overdrew in September and has yet to repay.
Thus, in total, City National Bank was seeking about $205,000 in damages from the couple.
The couple missed the deadline to respond to the bank’s allegations in court on May 22. Therefore, the judge granted the bank’s motion for default judgement, ordering them to pay $202,066.10 to City National Bank plus an additional $17,730.56 for a grand total of $219.796.66.

E! reminds us of Tori’s other debts. Not only did she get cleaned out by the IRS, she also has a tax lein of $259k to the state of California for back taxes from 2014, and she’s been sued by AmEx twice for over 100k in credit card debt she didn’t pay. I would wonder why she hasn’t filed for bankruptcy yet but that would require acknowledging that she has a problem, which she’s so unwilling to do she doesn’t even respond to subpoenas or summons from the IRS. In case you’re wondering how she got into this mess just check out her Instagram, which is a handy guide to her lavish spending. A lot of her posts are sponsored so it’s hard to separate out the things she’s been comped vs. what she’s splurging on, but she did take her family out for oysters and escargot recently. Also, she never Instagrammed the giant bounce houses she rented for an Easter party for her kids. She’s probably spending a lot and hiding it.

| Jim Carrey defends Kathy Griffin: 'It is the job of a comedian to cross the line' | Added 7 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

While everyone was paying attention to covfefe and Kathy Griffin, Donald Trump was continuing to be the worst person in the world. But sure, let?s keep talking about the Kathy Griffin stuff. On Tuesday, photos came out of Kathy holding a fake, bloody, decapitated Trump head. The Deplorables threw a sh-t fit, like it was the worst thing that was ever done, ever, in history. Trump behaved that way too, using his son Barron as a human shield from criticism and making the story about how Kathy Griffin made a kid cry. You know, like all of those kids in the Miss Teen USA pageant who were ogled by Trump in the changing room. Of course Kathy was really dumb and she shouldn?t have pulled that stupid stunt, but the overreaction to the stunt was ridiculous. Jim Carrey thinks so too. Carrey premiered his new Showtime show, I?m Dying Up Here (Carrey executive produces) this week, and he had stuff to say about the controversy:
Jim Carrey has some very strong opinions about whether comedians should speak up about American politics — and he’s sharing a provocative “dream” he had about President Trump with ET. The comedy icon spoke with ET at the premiere of the new Showtime comedy I’m Dying Up Here, where he addressed the controversy surrounding Kathy Griffin’s recent photo shoot in which she held a facsimile of President Donald Trump’s severed head.
“I think it is the job of a comedian to cross the line at all times — because that line is not real,” Carrey, 55, explained matter-of-factly to ET’s Leanne Aguilera on Wednesday night, just hours after Griffin was fired by CNN.
“If you step out into that spotlight and you’re doing the crazy things that [Trump is] doing,” Carrey continued, “we’re the last line of defense. And really, the comedians are the last voice of truth in this whole thing. It’s impossible to get away from it.”
The Golden Globe winner went on relate a dream he claimed he had recently. “I had a dream the other night I was playing golf with Donald Trump,” he recalled. “I was standing beside him with a club in my hand, and I was considering my options when I suddenly woke up. It was one of those dreams where you just want to get back to sleep so you can finish it, you know?” Carrey added.
[From Entertainment Tonight]
I know a lot of comedians feel similarly, that you can?t judge their comedy/art within the standards of political correctness. Many comedians will defend their right to work out their act in public, even if they get booed or hit some kind of PC nerve. But? I don?t think that?s what this is. Kathy Griffin stepped in it, she knows she stepped in it, and her career is probably never going to be the same. But I also understand what Jim Carrey is saying too, that in these terrible moments, we?re turning to Saturday Night Live, Seth Meyers, Stephen Colbert and other comedians more and more. We need them to speak truth to power. We need to protect their freedom to speak truth to power.
