Dressed for a power lunch, Naomi Watts arrived at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills on Thursday afternoon (February 21).
The "Impossible" star looked sophisticated in a stylish white jacket, white top, black pants, and sandals as she headed inside.
Nominated for an Oscar for her performance, the 44-year-old actress recently spoke with CBS news about her rough start in Tinseltown ahead of the Academy Awards ceremony this Sunday - the pinnacle of acting achievement.
After moving to Hollywood with a five year plan that eventually turned into ten years, she admitted, "Oh my God, I mean I consider myself fairly sensitive, but I don't think a strong person could cope with it over and over again, and ten years of it. There were moments where I was sure I was done."

After eight years of marriage, Diane Lane, 48, and Josh Brolin, 45, have called it quits. They’ve tapped out of their marriage.
An insider says, “It was a mutual decision. It is very amicable. It’s not ugly, it’s just over.” The source seems very insistent that they’re on good terms. Someone must be hiding something. Lane probably found out Brolin keeps dead hookers in his basement.
The two split a couple months ago and have no children together. Which is good news on account of all those dead hookers.

Taylor Swift performed at the Brit Awards yesterday where she looked like Beyonce at the Super Bowl (compare) and at times even imitated parts of Beyonce’s Super Bowl performance.
It was a weird juxtaposition because Beyonce is all about female empowerment while Swift is all about wondering why every boy she dates gives her the sads.
She did show up on the red carpet wearing this and looking relatively good. No word on who she ripped off for that look though.

Can something be a surprise and yet? you were expecting it somehow? That is the mix of reactions I?m experiencing at this news: Josh Brolin and Diane Lane are divorcing after eight years together. It was just this New Year?s when Josh was arrested for public intoxication, and the tabloids have claimed several times this year that Diane and Josh were on the outs. Looks like the tabs were right!
Josh Brolin and Diane Lane are going their separate ways. A little more than eight years after they tied the knot, the Cinema Verite actress, 48, and her Gangster Squad actor husband, 45, have split, reps for the couple tell Us Weekly exclusively.
“Diane Lane and Josh Brolin have decided to end their marriage,” the reps tell Us. Adds an insider: “It was a mutual decision. It is very amicable. It’s not ugly, it’s just over.”
The spouses, who married in August 2004, split a couple of months ago. They have no children together.
This will be the second divorce for both stars. Lane was previously wed to actor Christopher Lambert from 1988 to 1994 — the same years in which Brolin was married to actress Alice Adair, with whom he has two kids, Trevor, 24, and Eden, 18.
Both Oscar-nominated, Brolin and Lane enjoyed some happy times together. Speaking about his wife in 2010, the actor said, “I mean, check her out, man. My relationship with my wife is fantastic.”

Diane has a daughter from her marriage to Christopher Lambert as well. I know some of you will bring up the domestic violence rumors and how maybe this news means that Diane has finally stood up for herself? but I don?t know. Diane has always maintained that Josh was not physically abusive, although if you told me he was a moody, nasty alcoholic bastard, I wouldn?t be shocked. Hopefully this divorce will be drama-free. *fingers crossed*

Shia Labeouf is an asshole. He’ll be the first to admit it. Like when he was working with Mia Wasikowska on the set ofLawless, he admitted being a belligerent ass towards her. “Mia was ready to walk away from the movie. I was really pretty aggressive about it, and not in any kind of weird, strange way, but I don?t think she had ever experienced anything like that.”
This was partly due to the fact that Shia likes to keep things method so he’d always show up drunk. “I did it for the movie. I didn?t drink off set for no reason. I did it because, when I showed up on set the next day, my f**king eyes looked like this and my face? had that drunk bloat that I needed, that I couldn?t have if that wasn?t going on. Moonshine is different than liquor. Moonshine is closer to heroin.”
Which is a good primer before talking about what happened when Shia Labeouf withdrew from the Broadway playOrphans. Shia was supposed to be acting alongside Alec Baldwin but the old “creative differences” got in the way.Orphans director Daniell Sullivan grew concerned that the direction LaBeouf was going didn’t jibe with where he wanted it to go. He spoke to Shia and producers, but when nothing improved, they all decided to replace Shia.
On Wednesday morning, Shia tweeted an email he wrote and a few of the responses. It was so pretentious you just want to slap Shia in the face to remind him he was in Transformers. Three times.

Star Magazine is reporting (via Radar Online) that married singer/reality star Nick Lachey spent an awfully long time hitting on a lovely brunette TV hostess who bears a mild resemblance to his wife, Vanessa Lachey. According to Star, Nick spent “hours heavily flirting” with a woman named Stuart Brazell at a party and was “begging” for her number. Nick and Vanessa have been married for just a year and a half and have a five month baby together. If this is true it’s bad news for them:

I really hope this isn’t true. I hope Nick was talking to this lady because they’re working on a project together or because they’re interested in collaborating or something. Her IMDB has her doing casting work for reality TV as well as several producing projects, so it’s entirely possible they were talking business. Plus, I just don’t see Nick as a cheater at all. I used to watch Newlyweds (don’t judge!) and he always seemed so solid to me. He’s a serial monogamist and I can’t imagine that he would cheat on Vanessa at all, especially with a new baby at home. This is Star stirring up sh*t where there is none – I hope! But I’ve also heard of the nicest, most seemingly family-oriented dudes getting strange on the side. (In real life, not just celebrity land.) Maybe I shouldn’t be so naive.

Remember this Theia gown Lindsay Lohan wore to the amfAR gala a few weeks ago? It looked like Roberto Cavalli and it was long and sparkly and it made Lindsay Lohan feel like a crack princess for one night only. Well, this gown has quite a torrid history already. Last week, Us Weekly claimed that Charlie Sheen (Captain Save-A-Ho) offered to go halfsies on the dress because he knows how much Lindsay Lohan loves to get dressed up in the finest clothes and prance around like she?s still the center of the universe. Apparently, Charlie called Phillip Bloch (stylist to the stars) and offered to pay for half of the dress for his good friend, the Cracken. I thought that was the end of it. But no. Us Weekly claims that Lindsay did NOT purchase the dress, she only borrowed it. And when she returned it, not only did the dress smell like vodka, crack smoke and crack drama, Lindsay had cut the dress in HALF.
Shear madness? Lindsay Lohan wore a gorgeous, beaded, floor-sweeping gown by Theia to an amFAR event on Feb. 6 in NYC, but by the time she returned it, the dress was half its original length.
“She said that the dress had ripped [at a club after the fundraiser] — she couldn’t possibly wear it like that — so her stylist friend went to the club bouncer and requested some scissors to repair the torn part of the dress,” a source tells Us Weekly. “But what bouncer has scissors?”
“She turned it into a mullet! Only a fashiony person would do that! ” the source continues. “She’s out of control and behaving really badly.”
The dress in question is actually the same one that fellow troubled star Charlie Sheen finagled for the 26-year-old actress. As revealed by Us Weekly, Sheen generously hooked up his Scary Movie 5 costar with the dress after personally putting in a call to celebrity stylist Phillip Bloch to outfit her for the glamorous AmFAR affair.
He even said he’d “go halfsies” with the actress to pay for the gown, an offer she did not accept: Lohan ended up borrowing the dress.
Last year, the actor offered to lend Lohan $100,000 to help cover her tax debt. The actress was said to have refused the money.

No, a ?fashiony person? would not chop off half of an expensive beaded gown just because there was a rip. You know who does that? A crackhead who doesn?t give a crap about anyone or anything. Sounds like Charlie is going to have to buy that dress after all. Either that or the stylist is going to end up suing Lindsay (and then she?ll countersue, and then she?ll hit him in a car, and then she?ll give someone a beej, and then she?ll go to court, then we’ll forget what we were talking about, rinse and repeat).

Star Magazine has a story this week which is already getting a lot of play, and the issue isn?t even out yet. Apparently, LeAnn Rimes is pregnant and Star Magazine knows this because she?s gained some noticeable weight, she stopped drinking (according to friends), and she stopped dyeing her hair. Unfortunately for all of us, we can?t get all excited/schadenfreude-y about this because LeAnn?s rep has gone around denying it to everybody who will listen:
LeAnn Rimes has denied reports she is pregnant. Rumours had surfaced that the country star is expecting her first child with husband Eddie Cibrian.
But a representative for the singer told Mail Online: ?LeAnn is not pregnant.?
A source had claimed to Star magazine: ?LeAnn is staying coy, but her friends say she?s beyond excited to be having a baby.?
The publication alleged that LeAnn learned shortly before the holidays that she had a little one on the way.
?That?s why she didn?t have a single margarita in Cabo over Christmas and New Year?s,? the source claimed. ?Normally she can?t get enough!?
The star has come under much criticism for her too-thin figure in the past but has been cutting a far healthier shape of late.
And the insider said of LeAnn?s newly healthy figure: ?LeAnn has stopped bleaching her hair, and is relaxing her diet to gain weight the way a pregnant woman is supposed to. She hasn?t always taken the best care of her health, and she?s determined to get it right. She?s wanted Eddie?s baby ever since they got together.?
However on Sunday LeAnn was off to dye her locks and tweeted: ?Hair color, then bang trim and dinner w/ the hubs. It’s gonna be a warm evening, so a patio w/ yummy food we must find.?
The 30-year-old?s husband already has two sons, from his first marriage to Brandi Glanville, and the insider has claimed that he does not want a girl.
?He knows how badly he?s already treated the women in his life,? the source alleged. ?It would drive him crazy trying to take care of a girl.?

Gossip Cop also got a comment from LeAnn?s rep, who told them: ?LeAnn is not pregnant, as I told Star Magazine but they chose to ignore it.? And Eddie?s rep also commented, saying that the story ?is not true.? Too bad. Also: I hope that if and when LeAnn does get knocked up, she does have a girl because OMG that will be amazing.
So? take off your party hats and take down the streamers. LeAnn is not knocked up, and I really don?t think she would have ordered her rep to GO HARD against the rumors if she was just going to have to admit a pregnancy in a month, you know? So I believe that she just gained some weight and it doesn?t equal baby. But here?s the question I always have about the way celebrities deny some stories and let other stories sit around, gaining traction ? why did LeAnn feel so strongly about letting everyone know she wasn?t knocked up, while her rep couldn?t be bothered to comment on that story about the Instagram account which belonged to ?Eddie??

You know what?s surprising? Denzel Washington?s complete lack of an Oscar campaign this year. Denzel was nominated for Best Actor this year for his performance as a substance-abusing airline pilot in Flight, his first Oscar nomination since he won his second Oscar in 2002 for Training Day. Eleven years without a nomination? you?d think that Denzel would be engaged in at least an undercover Oscar campaign, but it?s almost like he?s been sitting this one out. Maybe he just thinks it?s time for the other actors to do the hustlin?. Maybe he doesn?t need the accolades at this point. I don?t know. What I do know is that he has a new interview in The Guardian, and it?s pretty much the first thing I?ve read about him in two months. It?s actually a really good piece ? The Guardian can be kind of judgy and patronizing, especially towards American celebrities, but I think the interviewer liked Denzel, and Denzel was in the mood to talk. And talk and talk. Some highlights:
The first & last time he drank on the job: “I did a movie in London in the 80s, For Queen and Country, and there was a scene where we had to drink. So me and this other young actor said: ‘Man, let’s really drink.’ We had some scotch and thought we were playing it pretty cool. And the director said: ‘What’s wrong with you guys?’ We thought we were wild but we were really just dull. The director was pissed off and it taught me a lesson. That was the last time I ever drank while working. Because it doesn’t work. I’ve worked with actors who’ve crossed that line and it’s just not worth it. You think you’re giving 100%, but all the while your level is dropping.”
He became an actor by prophecy: “Acting was my calling,” he says today. “The year I started acting there was a woman in my mother’s beauty shop, a kind of seer if you like, who kept looking at me in the mirror. Finally she got a piece of paper and wrote ‘prophecy’ at the top. She said: ‘You are going to travel the world and preach to millions of people.’ Now, bear in mind that I’d just been kicked out of school. I said: ‘You see anything there about me being let back into school?’” He chuckles. “That was March 75 and September 75 I started acting. I still got that piece of paper too.”
His father was a Pentecostal preacher, and Denzel has returned to the Pentecostal church: The actor was raised in a religious household, strayed briefly in his youth and is now firmly back on side. In 1995 he donated $2.5m to help build a Pentecostal cathedral near his Los Angeles home. Regular attendees include Magic Johnson, Stevie Wonder and Washington himself.
He wonders if he should preach: “I remember some years ago asking my pastor: ‘Do you think I’m supposed to be a preacher?’ And he said: ‘Well, you are. You have a pulpit of your own.’ That’s not to say that I’m preaching, necessarily. I don’t want to tell you what you need to do. I mean, I’m not turning it up to 10 when it comes to being correct, I’m not that guy, I like my wine.”
Playing a character in Flight who calls on God for help: “That’s right,” says Washington. “But by that point he’s got nowhere to hide. It’s like what’s going on with this Lance Armstrong stuff now. The jig is up. And that line ‘God help me’ was very important to me. As an arc as much as anything. You see this butt-naked, coke-sniffing, weed-smoking guy finally get to the point where he can say: ‘God help me.’ He gets his life back.”
He doesn?t have friends within the industry: An upright, Christian movie star must be something of a rarity in the modern-day Gomorrah of Beverly Hills and he shrugs and frowns and insists that I’m confusing the town of Los Angeles with the industry itself. “But actually, even within the industry, I don’t have any actor friends,” he concedes. “My friends are old friends. One’s an ex-music guy, the other’s a restaurant owner and the other’s an ex-pro ballplayer.” Why hasn’t he made any actor friends? Washington chortles. “Because I don’t make friends! Maybe I’m not a butt-kisser, maybe I’m not a schmoozer. I’m not about to go to a party to try to get a job. And then when you have children, the other friends become other parents. We’d coach baseball or basketball. My wife and I were raised right. I don’t want movie-star friends. And? being African American, there were no big movie stars to hang out with anyway, not when I was starting out, they were just the third guy from the back! For whatever reason, I never befriended any white actors.”
He?s a working actor, not a celebrity: “I had one six-month period in 1982 when I couldn’t get a job. I had done a movie called Carbon Copy and then I did a play and then I had these six months where nothing happened, where I started looking at the department of recreation and thinking: ‘Acting’s not for me.’ And then I caught a play about Malcolm X, off-off-Broadway in New York and I haven’t been unemployed ever since. I’m a working actor! What’s a celebrity anyway? Paris Hilton’s a celebrity. I’m just a working actor.”

I just selected these photos based on my personal name-recognition of these celebrities, and by how awful or good the fashion was. There were a bunch of people there who I think are only famous in England and nowhere else. You can read the list of winners here. Let?s begin with Taylor Swift in this Elie Saab gown. I like the idea of it? showing off her legs through some well-placed sheer panels, etc. But the fit is really off on the bodice and bust of this dress. Like, her bolt-ons are struggling to fill up the extra fabric.
Gemma Arterton in Jonathan Saunders. She?s beautiful but I don?t understand the concept of a sequined cardigan and matching sequined skirt. Like she?s a secretary at a disco. OMG, look at it from behind!!!
ONE DIRECTION. OMG.
Justin Timberlake?s Suit & Tie looks especially nice. This is the best suit he?s worn in a while.
Jessie J in Versace. I like Jessie J and I think she has a killer voice. Her fashion leaves me cold. I just wish the V of this gown was pulled tighter ? I feel like her tatas probably came out several times.
Berenice Mahlone in Donna Karan. Berenice is HOT. Like, really hot and sexy and sultry. She dresses like a bombshell most of the time too. It will be interesting to see if she can parlay that ?sultry? quality into more work.
Rita Ora in Ulyana Sergeenko. Ugh. I just don?t ?get? Rita Ora. She just seems like a really budget Rihanna (even in how she looks and styles herself).
I think I finally figured out Paloma Faith ? she is what happened when Lady Gaga and Lana Del Rey had a love child, and then they gave that love child lip injections and a horrible perm.
Speaking of Lana Del Rey, here she is in Chanel. She looks less duck-lippy than usual. Perhaps she donated some of her injections to Paloma?

Here are some photos from last night?s Global Green USA’s Pre-Oscar Party in Hollywood. Surprisingly enough, Orlando Bloom and Miranda Kerr were the biggest names at the event. They were doing the happy-couple thing for photos, and then Miranda posed by herself for a while. Do you believe them? Do you believe that they?re super-happy and that they?ll make it through the end of the year? Hmm. As for how they look? Orly needs to shave his dirtlip. I hate when he has facial hair. Miranda is wearing a Peter Pilotto dress. It?s meh, but from the neck up, she looks gorgeous.
CB really likes Emmy Rossum these days, so I feel bad about saying this, but Emmy looked like crap at this event. Maybe she has that flu that?s going around.
Helen Hunt looks good. Botoxy but good.
