I guess it’s not enough for Beyonce to just be one of the world’s most famous artists these days. Because I just found out she’s also got her own fashion line. And better yet, apparently she does all the modeling for it herself. Which gives me a great idea: Beyonce should really considerstarting her own […]

| Evan Rachel Wood on being bisexual: 'it's talked about like a phase' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Evan Rachel Wood, 29, has an extensive interview in Rolling Stone to promote her new show Westworld, which has just one episode left until the end of season one. This show is being propelled by word of mouth and jaw-dropping performances. Without revealing spoilers, it’s being compared to Lost due to its many bizarre plot twists. I have the feeling the payout will be worth it but we’ll see. Also, I did not see last night’s episode yet! I was marathoning a new Netflix show which I highly recommend, 3%, and will have to catch up later today. So please no spoilers in the comments if you can help it. In Rolling Stone, EWR is as candid and open as we’ve come to expect from her. She talks about her high profile relationship with Marilyn Manson, whom she dated when she was 18 and he was 36, about her bisexuality, and she opened up to the journalist after this interview, which was conducted before the election, about the fact that she was raped. I have so much respect for her as an actress and as someone who is open about who she is and how she got there.
She describes her time with Marilyn Manson as experimental
“I met somebody that promised freedom and expression and no judgments. And I was craving danger and excitement. I looked at my mother one day and said, ‘Mom, I’m gonna get on this tour bus for eight months and see the world and have a crazy journey and find myself, and if people aren’t OK with that, I’m sorry, but I can’t live my life for other people.’?”
She was hurt by the criticism of her during her relationship with Manson
“Most teenagers are searching for identity, and I was thrown into a situation where I was supposed to have that already figured out. Then you’re demonized for figuring it out and getting messy. People would call me a whore when I walked down the street, and you can’t not be hurt by that.”
After the election she sent the journalist an email stating that she’d been raped
“Yes, I’ve been raped. By a significant other while we were together. And on a separate occasion, by the owner of a bar… ?I don’t believe we live in a time where people can stay silent any longer. Not given the state our world is in with its blatant bigotry and sexism.”
On bisexuality being conflated with attention-seeking
“It was always talked about like a phase or something stupid, or something you were doing for attention… You know, bisexuality is worthy of eye rolls. And I didn’t realize how damaging that was until I tried to have healthy relationships as an adult and realized that there was still all this shame and conditioning and stigma around my sexuality that was really affecting the way I

| Naomi Watts on her split from Liev Schreiber: 'transitions are scary' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

Naomi Watts has handled her split from Liev Schreiber like a boss. TMZ reported that had been separated for months before they made the announcement, meaning they had plenty of time to prepare and to time the announcement for the least publicity. They waited until they were done promoting their movie, they waited until awards season was over and they were kind to each other during that time and on social media afterwards. While there were rumors about what may have preceded the split no other parties came out of the woodwork and there wasn’t even the whiff of a scandal. So that’s why it’s notable that Naomi is talking about her breakup from longterm partner, Liev, even if she’s doing it in a general kind of Hallmark-card way:
?I feel I?m in a good place in my life and I want to make sure my kids are healthy, my kids are happy and things are going to go well,? Watts, 48, told The Daily Telegraph Australia in an interview published on Saturday. ?Those are my hopes for me and for all of us.?
The actress went on to discuss that in or out of the spotlight, the breakup has been a time of change for their family of four.
?I feel, whether you?re famous or not, transitions are scary for anybody,?she said. ?I feel like change is always scary, but that?s only because transition for anyone is new and you wonder how things are going to go.?
Even logistical decisions, like where and how to celebrate the holidays, is something Watts admits she needs to resolve.
?I?m still figuring out Christmas plans for this year,? Watts added. ?I obviously want to get back to Australia, but I?m currently working on a TV show, Gypsy, and I?ve only got a limited amount of time off.?
[From People]
Once you’re out of a bad relationship it can be like ripping a bandaid off and you wonder why you didn’t do it sooner. Of course that depends on if you’re the one whose idea it is to split or if it’s mutual. I get the sense that Naomi is the one who wanted out, that she is the one who ended it and that Liev is the one who forced her hand with his general messiness. That’s just my feeling based on some of his interviews and I could be wrong. Whatever happened, Naomi is going to remain general enough that I doubt we’ll get more of the story from either side. That’s not that good for gossip but it’s masterful from a PR perspective.
Watts hired a chef to do Thanksgiving for her and she Instagrammed it!
Happy thanksgiving!! Thanks to this guy? @littlegemnyc #calltheexperts #knowyourlimits #thanksgiving

| Amy Adams: ask producers about the wage gap, I don't want to be a headline | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

During the Sony hack it came out that Amy Adams and Jennifer Lawrence made significantly less than their male costars on American Hustle. Hustle.Upon realizing that pay discrepancy affected actresses of their caliber, other actresses, like Charlize Theron, used this information to negotiate equitable pay. Some celebrity women have been comfortable talking about it, like Jennifer Lawrence, who penned an excellent essay about the wage gap and how that affects all women. Jessica Chastain has also discussed the wage gap. Other celebrities are not as open about it, and that’s their prerogative. Adams hard works to fly under the gossip radar. She was once rumored to have been denied a Today Show interview when she indicated she was unwilling to discuss the Sony hack. Earlier this year she did an interview in which she explained that she’s not comfortable talking about it. (Although did make it clear that director David O. Russell was not easy to work with and that he made her cry most days on set, so she’s not always mum on controversial subjects.)
Adams was part of The Hollywood Reporter?s actresses roundtable discussion along with Taraji P. Henson and Isabelle Huppert, 63, a prolific French actress.During the interview, Adams discussed pay equality in a roudabout way.
Q: In France and England, there seem to be much better roles available for women over 40. Is that true?
HUPPERT Hmm ?
Q: You’ve played some great roles.
HUPPERT Yes, but before 40 and after 40 ? but I never felt underemployed because I wasn’t 30. In fact, I remember when I was 30, I stopped working for a certain time in France. It happened because it happened. It was regardless of any question of age.
Q: Why did you stop working?
HUPPERT I didn’t stop working, but I had less work to do in my country and I did more films out of my country. I’m embarrassed to answer this kind of question because I find it misogynistic.
ADAMS Who you should be asking is the Producer Roundtable: “Do you think minorities are underrepresented? Do you think women are underpaid?” We are always put on the chopping block to put our opinion out there, and that question is never asked. I’m like, “Why don’t you ask them and then have their statements be the headlines in the press?” I don’t want to be a headline anymore about pay equality.
HENSON That’s why I changed what I was saying, because they expect it: “Do you think it’s hard for African-Americans?” “Oh, yes ?” (Laughs.)
ADAMS I agree with you. I think the real question should be asked of the people who make those decisions.
[From The Hollywood Reporter]
She’s not wrong. When producers and directors are asked why they don’t have equal representation of women or people of color in their films they often tell the truth, that they don’t think it matters. Some even suggest they find it offensive that they’re being asked about it, effectively sending a warning to journalists not to broach the subject, lest they be shut out of future interviews. So withthe issue a hotbed in the press and the people responsible for the situation refusing to loosen their grip on the subject, the burden yet again falls to the people who are affected by it. And every time they do, they, who risk angering bosses who already believe that they should be marginalized and paid less. It?s great that actresses are speaking out about the discrepancy in any way they are comfortable. But Adams is right, let?s start making those responsible the headline instead of those affected.
