Out promoting her new album, Carrie Underwood was spotted in New York City arriving at the “Late Show with David Letterman” earlier today (November 2).
Looking cute and fall weather appropriate, the “Cowboy Casanova” singer donned jeans and animal print heels with a blue top underneath a gray puffy vest.
Ms Underwood’s third album, “Play On,” debuts this week and is still very much country complete with banjo, pedal steel and mandolin, but according to a report, the album has different musical textures adding a level of maturity to it.
Of her newest project, Carrie tells press, “This has been kind of my first attempt at love songs and I think there’s a reason for that. I think it’s because I’m a private person anyway, and I’m not so great with emotions.

In case there was ever any doubt, Doug Reinhardt is truly p*ssy whipped. Now I have random bouts of stuffiness, and don?t really care for this particular term. But the only other thing Kaiser and I could come up with to describe it was ?hypnotized by the vadge,” ?utterly whipped with the power of the vadge” and ?hypnotized by the rotting disease of Paris Hilton’s crotch.? All Kaiser, by the way. So use whatever of those works best for you, but let it be known far and wide: Doug Reinhardt is whipped by Paris Hilton. And not in the way a lot of men are. In an extreme way that says, ?Paris likes to role-play and keeps me in her dungeon.? There?s whipped, and then there?s this. This is just degrading. I never thought it was possible for me to feel any emotions whatsoever for Doug or Paris. But I truly feel badly for the guy, and I think he?s in a situation he needs to get out of.
Over the course of the weekend, Paris and Doug attended two Halloween parties. A lot of people would repeat their outfits, but not Paris. There are only so many days you get to dress up in one year, and what?s she supposed to do the other 245 days? You gotta seize the event and milk it for its maximum paparazzi potential. Naturally, Paris dressed up as sl*tty Dorothy from the ?Wizard of Oz? on Friday night for a visit with Jimmy Kimmel, and as a slutty dancer (I think) the next night.
But here?s the creepy part: She made Doug dress in a nearly identical version of each outfit. And not ?identical except masculine.? If there was a skirt, Doug was in a skirt. For her dancer costume, Doug was dressed as the tooth fairy ? in coordinating colors. Wearing a crinoline skirt, white stockings, a wife beater with a molar on it, a headband with a big bow, and wings. For Dorothy, Doug was wearing the exact same costume. Just with the addition of a red belt (nice!) a blonde wig, and for some reason his high heels were Pink instead of red. Not surprisingly, they got in a huge fight that night.
While the evening started out in a pleasant fashion, everything went downhill for Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt after leaving Heidi Klum?s Halloween party at Voyeur nightclub on Saturday night (October 31).
According to a paparazzo source, the couple then headed to another party at Roosevelt hotel in Hollywood, where they stayed for a few hours.
As the on-again/off-again pair headed back home, photographers following them saw a cell phone flying out the window on the corner of La Brea and Sunset, during which time the limo stopped and Paris jumped out of the car to find her mobile.
Our insider adds that the hotel heiress ?went back to the limo with her hands empty - yelling to Doug that she wanted to kill him for throwing her cell out of the car.?
As the limo started moving again and stopped a few blocks away, photographers approached the car to find Paris slapping Doug on the back seat, with Doug finally immobilizing his lady by holding her down before friends quickly tried to block the paparazzi from witnessing the troubling domestic moment.

There is some seriously messed up psychology going on here. I?m not even going to try to guess what it is. It?s hard enough figuring out the deep inner recesses of someone?s psyche when they have a normal intellect. But what to you say when they?re clearly totally messed up, but it?s Paris Hilton and Doug Reinhardt, so there are no deep inner recesses? Whatever it is, it is f-ed up. And there is the slight possibility Doug chose to dress himself like this. But I don’t know a lot of men who like toying with their masculinity that way.
Here?s Paris? visit with Jimmy Kimmel. The show?s crew dressed up as different characters from Sesame Street. Jimmy dressed up as Big Bird ? or ?Huge Bird? as Paris classically called him. See, even by the age of three she?d already stopped learning. Paris was hawking her latest line of hair and beauty products. She also brought along one of her little puffball purse dogs as Toto ? this time inside a basket instead of a purse ? named Marilyn Monroe. She rejected the stuffed Toto that came with the costume because her pup is ?hotter and blonder.? She also mentioned that she had ?like 20 different costumes custom made.? I?m going to hope she?s exaggerating and/or her number skills are failing her again, but you never know.

According to a report, the “Take a Bow” songstress will give interviews on “Good Morning America” on Thursday and “20/20” on Friday.
And while Ri-Ri has been keeping to herself regarding the incident, Chris Brown recently gave an interview on New York’s Hot 97 to try and explain himself.
“Just be human. Because at the end of the day, I’m human. Of course you’re gonna have your thoughts and opinions. I’m not gonna say they’re wrong. But at the end of the day, it’s not right to judge someone. People make mistakes all the time. I’m learning from my mistakes every day and I regret it every second.”

Continuing along on her quest for a license to fly, Gisele Bundchen keeps making progress - as she just passed her written test.
“Gisele hasn’t finished her license yet, but she did pass her written exam,” Keith Douglass of Shoreline Aviation told People magazine. “Now, there’s one more step along the way, the practical exam [in the air], which is coming up in another week.”
Praising the top-earning supermodel, Douglass tells, “She’s very dedicated. She flies at least three days a week. Flying a helicopter isn’t easy – it’s a handful, because you can’t stop flying and just cruise, but she’s doing great.”
Meanwhile, Keith admits that Miss Bundchen’s growwing baby bump (she’s 8 months pregnant) is a bit of hindrance, explaining, “She’s almost to a point where she’s too big to be flying. She needs to be able to move the rutter around and she’s getting there.”
But he doesn’t see the baby-on-board as too big of an issue, saying, “We have pilots that fly right up to the end. She doesn’t go very high, maybe 500 feet or 1,000 feet, which is nothing. She’s always close and can get down quickly if she needs to. She’s feeling great and looking great!”

The whole Gypsies-as-a-political-issue thing isn?t something I?m terribly familiar with, so I actually had to do a little bit of research on the issue, specifically the Gypsy issue within Romania. I apologize in advance if I?m incorrect, but from what I can see, Gypsies (Roma) seem to be a culturally, politically and socially oppressed minority within Romania. The Roma maintain their own language (Romany), names, music, customs, set of laws, and the overwhelming majority refuse to marry outside of the Roma, although many have begun to become more integrated into non-Roma communities.
It was back in August when Madonna was performing in Bucharest, Romania, and she spoke out on the issue of Gypsies. According to Fanfarazzi, Madonna ?explained that no one should be discriminated against and that it made her ’sad’ that Gypsies, also known as Roma, face this kind of plight. That’s when thousands of Romanian fans, who did not agree, loudly booed the pop star. She didn’t react.? Poor Madge. Entering a country?s internal political debate like a freight train, and she isn?t even thanked for her trouble.
So this Gypsy history and Madge history is the jumping off point for this latest story about Ethan Hawke. Apparently, Ethan is all over the Roma stuff because his mom is president of the Ovidiu Rom charity. According to the website: ?The mission of Ovidiu Rom is to empower the poorest members of Romanian society through education, job training, community development and public awareness.? Ethan thinks Madge is amazing for standing up for Gypsies, and he?s even traveled to Romania to see the Gypsies? conditions first hand:
At an August concert in Bucharest on her “Sticky & Sweet” tour, Madonna called for an end to widespread discrimination against Eastern Europe’s Gypsies - and her stance provoked boos from thousands of fans in Romania. Now ‘Reality Bites’ star Ethan Hawke, visiting Romania to help promote his mother’s charity supporting education for Gypsy children, placed the pop superstar alongside Bob Marley and John Lennon as part of a tradition of artists speaking out against racism.
“She transcended being a pop star,” he told reporters. “She drew international attention and shone the spotlight on a level of racism and the need for greater education,” Hawke said.
“I don’t have an agenda, Madonna doesn’t have an agenda. We aren’t politicians,” Hawke said.
Hawke, 38, was to speak later Saturday at the Ovidiu Rom charity Halloween ball. He and his mother, Leslie Hawke, the charity’s president, were already dressed in costume: the actor in top hat and tails and his mother in a Japanese-style kimono, black wig and geisha-like makeup.
A pair of Madonna’s Christian Dior shoes with autographed skyscraper gold heels are to be raffled off at the ball, which is to be held in the giant palace of the late dictator Nicolae Ceausescu. Among the other prizes is a gold chain provided by actress Vanessa Redgrave.
Hawke has been coming to Romania to support his mother’s work since 2000, he said.
“I feel I can do something,” he told reporters, “instead of being part of the problem.”
Romania has the largest number of Roma in Europe, numbering officially half a million, but whose population is believed to be as high as 2 million. The European Union’s Fundamental Rights Agency has said Gypsies face “overt discrimination” in housing, health care and education.
Romania, home to the Dracula legend, may have influenced two-time Academy Award nominee Hawke’s latest movie, ‘Daybreakers,’ in which he plays a researcher in the year 2019 facing a plague that has transformed the world’s population into vampires. The movie comes out in 2010.
Prince Vlad the Impaler, the Romanian warlord whose cruelty inspired Bram Stoker’s 1897 novel, ‘Dracula’ has spawned dozens of Hollywood movies about vampires in the Transylvania region.

Now that Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has been fired from ?Melrose Place? (quite possibly due to Heather Locklear taking her reprised role as scheming Amanda Woodward to heart) big sister Jessica is feeling more than free to slam the show. While she used to be its biggest fan (at least according to her Twitter), now she?s got nothing but two thumbs down for the revamped drama.
Now that her sister Ashlee Simpson-Wentz has been canned on Melrose Place, Jessica Simpson says she isn’t a fan of the CW soap. The singer, 29, used to promote her sister’s former show regularly on her Twitter (”Everyone watch my sis on melrose place tonight,” she wrote Oct. 20).
But on Sunday, she changed her tune drastically. Jessica wrote: “CW catching up on MP.who writes this crap?i have had bad scripts to work with,but this?thank God my sister is amazing and got you some press.”
According to the new issue of Us Weekly (on newsstands now), Ashlee, a veteran of TV’s 7th Heaven, was canned because producers thought she couldn’t act. “They hired her because they needed a good name to help create buzz,” a set insider told Us Weekly. “But she was embarrassingly bad. Producers cut her down as much as possible.”

I could go off about how dumb and nave Jessica is, but frankly I like that she?s unconditionally supportive of her sister. It?s nice when your family loves you so much that you can do no wrong. Well, to an extent. But Ashlee?s bad acting definitely falls under the family umbrella. They all probably think she?s amazing and super talented, and I think that?s sweet.
All that said, getting kicked off ?Melrose? supposedly hasn?t taught Ashlee any lessons about her acting skills. Us Weekly mentioned that she doesn?t want to return to singing, that she?s been spending most of her time going over scripts, and that ??acting is her focus now.?? God save us all. I was only able to sit through the show a time or two, but watching Ashlee?s scenes was excruciating. She was so bad it actually made me feel awkward and uncomfortable, and I had to stop watching. If she?s really got her little heart set on acting, I?d say she should probably set her feet in motion towards a good acting class. Or seven.

I was first planning onseeing this movie only because it cast a man among men, Vince Vaughn. However, I then noticedthat Kristin Davis, Kristen Bell, and Malin Akerman were allin the cast,too. So now this movie is starting to lookbetter and better. Yeah, way better!
Source: How was it working on “Couples Retreat?” I mean Jon Favreau and Vince Vaughn together on set, how was that?
Malin: It was amazing. It?s one of those things where I?ve been watching them for many years now and all of a sudden, to be on set with people you idolize, it?s a pretty phenomenal feeling. And to watch them go off, you know they?ve known each other for so long they?re fabulous when they just start riffing off each other, a lot of improv ensues. They?re just hilarious together, and I mean all of them are. Jason Bateman, Faizon Love, they?re all just incredible comedians.
I always think of a coach telling me, I used to be on the track and field team, and he goes. ?Never practice with someone who?s slower than you, always practice with the runners who are quicker because then you?re going to speed up your time.? And that?s sort of how I feel whenever I get the opportunity to work with people who are so immersed it their business and they?ve done it a long time, you learn so much just by watching them.
Source: What was your favorite part to shoot?
Malin: I have to say that my most memorable day was going swimming with the sharks. I think that was pretty spectacular. In one day we went swimming with stingrays and sharks. It was an unforgettable moment and an unforgettable day in my life. I?ll remember it forever.

The sighting comes amidst reports the Kutcher is in the midst of planning to production of a film based on his relationship with Demi Moore.

The Victoria’s Secret hottie and her film producer fianc Archie Drury welcomed their new arrival late last week, according to a report.
Tobin Jack Drury, a 6-pound 3-ounce baby boy was born Thursday (October 29) in New York, and Karolina’s rep announced, “Both mother and baby are happy and healthy.”
Ms. Kurkova’s fellow Angel Alessandra Ambrosio told press she’s thrilled to have a fellow new mom to hang with. “It’s just great that we’re all at the same time in our lives. We’re all having babies, we’re thinking about play dates. We’re going shopping for the babies.”

Kate Hudson has cast off her wholesome girl-next-door image in a new series of raunchy pictures. The stunning shots show the blonde actress oiled up in a black swimsuit with satin gloves and feline eye make-up.
Kate, whose mother is Hollywood actress Goldie Hawn, is also snapped with the same eye-catching make-up teamed with tousled hair and a sexy belted dress.
The 30-year-old, who has been dating New York Yankees star Alex Rodriguez for six months, revealed she has given up alcohol in preparation for a film role in which she stars as a terminally ill woman who falls for her doctor.

It may be over for Sienna Miller and her utterly drama-less unmarried boyfriend, DJ Slinky Wizard, also known as George Barker. After spending some time making out and humping in front of photographers and various media types for a few months over the summer, Slinky seems to be out of sight and out of mind. I think this report originated in the British tabloids - Starpulse claims it?s source as the Sunday Mirror, but I can?t find the original report. Even though the sourcing is iffy, I?ve been thinking for about a month now that Sienna and Slinky are likely kaput. He hasn?t been in New York at all for her Broadway show, they haven?t been photographed together in a while, and Sienna can?t live without drama:
Sienna Miller has reportedly ended her relationship with British DJ Slinky Wizard - because of her work commitments in the U.S. The actress had been dating the beatmaker - real name George Barker - since July but recently moved over to New York for her turn in Broadway production After Miss Julie.
And it seems the pair was unable to maintain their romance with the distance of the Atlantic between them, according to Britain’s Sunday Mirror newspaper.
A source tells the publication, “We had all hoped Sienna and George would be a long-term relationship. They always looked so happy together. But they realized it wasn’t going to last the distance with Sienna being out in New York with the play for the foreseeable future, so they agreed to part ways.”

Reports have been surfacing that Jude and Sienna have been spending time together in New York (where Jude is also doing a play). And Sienna The Drama Queen is returning to weep energetically in front of the paparazzi. What does it all mean?
The pressure of acting on Broadway a block away from ex Jude Law is apparently getting to Sienna Miller. The beauty got teary on the street when the paparazzi asked her about Law as she walked her dog in the West Village Thursday morning.
A spy said, “Just before she got home, she had an outburst, told the photographers to [bleep] off and burst into tears.”

Alanis Morissette’s weight loss is featured in People Magazine this week. The 35 year-old Canadian singer lost over 20 pounds through a primarily plant and fruit-based vegan diet and just completed her first marathon. She speaks candidly about her eating disorder as a teen and how she finally broke the yo-yo cycle. Alanis credits a book called Eat to Live by Dr. Joel Fuhrman as helping her turn her health around and lose the weight.
Morissette is proud of her new, fit body - because, for the first time, she achieved it in a healthy manner. In addition to her workout regiment, Morissette, 35, follows a mostly vegan diet inspired by Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s book Eat to Live. “I’m eating like an adult rather than like a 7-year-old at a candy store,” she says. “Now, around food, I can be trusted.”
The star’s eating issues began in her early teens, when the budding singer was told by a music exec that she had to lose weight if she wanted to succeed. She quickly took the criticism to an extreme, turning to anorexia and bulimia. “I’d go up and down at least 20 lbs. fast - sometimes in two weeks,” says Morissette, who became “covert, lonely and isolated.” After years of feeling helpless, she reached a turning point at age 17 when a friend “followed me to the bathroom,” she says. “I just started sobbing. She held me, and that was the beginning of the end. I took myself to therapy.”
But Morissette insists there was no heavy emotional issue behind her weight gain last year - not even her highly publicized 2007 split from fiance Ryan Reynolds… “Any breakup I’ve been through, the weeks following are fragile,” she admits. “But when I go through emotional shifts in life, I actually don’t eat as much.” So what was the cause behind the curves? Simply having fun on the road. “I was eating Italian food at two in the morning, drinking wine and margaritas,” says Morissette, who dubbed this period her “Indulgence Tour.” “It was the most fun I’ve ever had! But I didn’t want to stay there…”
[Inset information] The Book. Morrissette’s “redefining moment” came when she discovered Dr. Joel Fuhrman’s diet, which stresses nutrient-dense foods such as cucumbers and collards. “It was a big lifestyle change for me.”
Her Meals. The singer starts out with a spinach banana smoothie and then digs into a kale salad for lunch. For a snack, she’ll have her favorite grapefruit.
Mini indulgences. “If I’m PMSing and I really need chocolate, I’ll eat the chocolate.”

Dr. Fuhrman has more details on his website, and I’ve read the first few chapters of Eat to Live and have to say I’m convinced that my family needs to eat more fruits and vegetables and cut out some of the meat in our diet. Dr. Fuhrman backs up all of his recommendations with studies and pretty compelling evidence that eating a high-fat high-processed food diet is bad for us. This is stuff we already know, but the way he presents it is very factual and convincing and helps clear up some of the conflicting information we’ve received about health and nutrition. If you’d like to lose weight and are open to radically changing your diet, it’s worth reading.
You may want to leaf through it at the bookstore first and/or read through Dr. Fuhrman’s website before you buy it, though. Eat to Live recommends what most of us consider a very strict diet. You basically eat as much fruits, vegetables and beans as you want and a minimal amount of whole grain pasta, rice and carbs. You can still eat meat, bread, and dairy in small amounts, but he makes it clear that you really need to eat a ton of fruits and vegetables. The weight loss is supposed to be astounding, though. Fuhrman has clients who have lost 20 pounds in six weeks, and he claims this is both safe and effective. He also addresses possible vitamin and mineral deficiencies on the diet and how you can ensure that you’re getting all the nutrients you need.
Good for Alanis for losing weight the right way and for being so open and honest about what she went through. After seeing her dramatic weight loss, I wondered how she lost it. Ellen Degeneres also said that she lost weight through a vegan diet recommended by her wife, Portia. People sometimes scoff at vegans and the diet seems very restrictive, but they’re definitely on to something. I find this health-based approach a lot more convincing than the guilt and scare tactics some organizations use to try and convince us to go vegetarian.
