I’m guessing most of you probably aren’t subscribed to Vanity Fair Italy (or maybe you are, I don’t know your magazine reading habits). But either way, you’re definitely not going to want to miss the spread Rita Ora did for their latest issue. I still don’t get how Vanity Fair Italy can have hotter lingerie […]

| Jennifer Garner got daughter Violet her first computer: 'I am panicked about it' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

These are photos of Jennifer Garner holding a cute baby at an event for Huggies, where they were donating diapers to Baby2Baby. She looks very cute in that denim dress. The Today Show recently published what looks like a new interview with Garner, but I’m confused because they include a video with the story from early August when she was promoting the movie Nine Lives. (Here’s a link to that earlier Today interview, which we covered at the time.) She does reference going back to school so this interview must be new. Garner is promoting her charitable partnership with Huggies. She talked to Today about her family, about technology about being present for her children.
On teaching her kids empathy through example
“I don?t think empathy is something you can drill in someone?s head, You have to have faith that while your kids can seem to be selfish and concerned only about the word ‘mine’ sometimes, overall, they are watching you really carefully, and if you care about other people, they will too. I try to be the best version of myself and to have faith that they?re watching me as carefully when I do something right as they do when I roll through a stop sign.”
On getting Violet, 10, her first computer
“We just had back to school night, and I said afterwards, ‘Do they need a computer?’ They need some kind of device or computer to complete their homework. Our daughter doesn?t have any of those things, and she?s, like, the only kid in the class who doesn’t, apparently,” she said. “So I found an old laptop this weekend for her, and I am kind of panicked about it. She?s not on social media yet ? her school has a no social media policy until 6th grade ? but I know it’s coming soon.”
On spending time with each of her children
“I try to make bedtime sacred, to have some alone time with each kid every night, when it is possible,” she said,”… Except for the nights when it?s not possible. I work, and I have a job that means that sometimes I have to go out at night, and sometimes I need to go out at night just for me.”
[From Today]
Garner has said in the past that her kids don’t have iPads, phones or technology, so it makes sense that she would fret over getting Violet her first computer. My son was online much earlier than that and I think it’s important to use strict parental filters to make sure it’s safe for them on all devices (We use NetNanny), being around while they’re using them and also teaching them the skills and logic to navigate the internet. Oh and no social media.
Also, although Garner talked about Ben in her earlier interview with Today in August, doesn’t she sound like a single mom here? She talked about parenting as if she’s doing it all herself. Ben has said that she does most of the heavy lifting, but he does seem to be a present parent too. This makes it sound more like they’re doing everything separately, which may be the case – apart from school runs.

Britney Spears has seemingly been everywhere lately. Promoting her ninth album, Glory, she performed at the iHeartRadio music festival in Vegas on Saturday and the Apple Music festival in London on Tuesday – where she almost got dropped on stage by one of her dancers. I’m well aware Brit has some vocal assistance on stage, but she can sure put on a show, as evidenced by clips from both of these performances. Brit has also been quite the media darling over the past few months, pranking Jimmy Kimmel, singing carpool karaoke with James Corden and doing countless interviews.
While in London for the Apple Music Fest, the 34-year-old singer chatted with ITV personality Lorraine Kelly about her tumultuous 20s. Everybody remembers the head shaving, the quickie marriage to Jason Alexander and her tabloid fodder relationship with Kevin Federline. An older and wiser Brit told Lorraine that she?s in a much better place now, telling her, “I like my 30s way more than my 20s. My 20s were horrible! [Being] in my teens was fun, but I like my 30s. My 30s are great. You know who you really are.”
I think that?s kind of a given, really. If nothing else, Britney looks amazing. She posted a photo on Instagram earlier this week in a sexy black dress that?s already gotten over 360,000 likes.
Great day!!

| Alicia Keys on going makeup free: 'Every day I?m challenging myself' | Added 8 years ago | Source: CeleBitchy |

One of the funniest parts of Miley Cyrus’s stoned Elle interview was the shade she threw on Alicia Keys, also a judge on The Voice, for having a makeup artist when she insists on going makeup free. Miley said that she does her own makeup but “Alicia doesn?t really wear it. But she?s got a makeup artist and I don?t.” Then Miley made a bunch of excuses for why she does wear makeup and it made about as much sense as the rest of Miley’s interview.
Alicia has been going without makeup for some months now and while it seemed like a put-on at first she’s committed to it and she’s said that she’s not anti-makeup in general. This is just a choice that she’s making. In a new interview with Access Hollywood, Alicia talked about going makeup-free and described it as a kind of challenge to herself, although I think she was making a broader point. You can see the video on Access Hollywood and here’s what she said:
Gwyneth Paltrow just posted a photo on her birthday like ?no makeup, holler at me now? I just wonder if you expected that kind of response when you made the choice for yourself?
No. I didn?t even really think about it to be honest. I was just realizing, just like I was saying, this evolution of even realizing how I could just be. You can just emanate. Here?s me. And learning that is like a constant challenge. Every day I?m challenging myself like ?come on Alicia, don?t forget.?
[From Access Hollywood]
I like this, I think it’s a nice point to make as long as it’s framed as a personal choice, which Alicia has done, and not as a challenge to all women. It’s also worth looking at how you present yourself and what your personal choices are regarding that, and how to be your most authentic self. For Alicia, that means not wearing makeup.
Alicia is promoting the music she wrote for the Disney movie Queen of Katwe, about a young Ugandan girl who becomes a chess master, starring Lupita Nyong’o and David Oyelowo. She also has an interview with E! in which she talked about her sons with husband Swizz Beats, Egypt, six, and Genesis, one and a half. Alicia said that she’s trying to help protect their innocence. “I love them to just be able to be innocent… to create their world and what the world looks like for them.” She has such a unique way of looking at things.
